Maple vibrates instead of ring in Normal mode - Dash 3G, Snap General

Hi.
Here's the situation: I'm using 3VO rom build 2.00.
My phone works as it should when in Vibrate mode. When I change it to Normal mode, the vibrate icon in the top bar is still present. When I get a call or a message, the phone is still vibrating and it doesn't ring. I've tried to reset profiles to default, I've tried changing the ring type of a certain profile (its set to Ring, I've changed it to Ring and vibrate and then back, same situation).
I've tried switching on the vibrate mode with a key (on my model this means tab/#/vibrate key), and the vibrating icon is still there.
When my profile is set to Normal, I get a sound when i send a SMS.
What else can I tell you? Oh, I've also tried a reboot, same situation.
It worked fine for a month with this new rom, now it's not working... And it bothers me sometimes because I cannot hear when someone calls me, it's just vibrating (same with the Outdoor or Automatic mode).
So can someone please advise? I've used search on the forum and google and couldn't find a similar description of the problem.
Thank you so much in advance!

change ringtone sound to something other than vibrate
the default ringtone i believe was vibrate. change the ringtone to something else in the sound settings. if not reflash the rom works well for most everyone else.

soclean, you are my saviour!
Indeed, I had to change the "Ring tone" setting under Start/Settings/Sounds (it was set to Vibrate).
Thank you man.

no problem. happy to hear i was a help and it wasnt something else wrong with the phone.

SMS and Vibrate dont work

If i uncheck the vibrate option and an sms is incoming the sound would play. when i change to vibrate (not in options) my HD does not vibrate if an sms is incoming. When i check the vibrate option then my HD almay vibrate when an sms is incoming.
Anyone else with this problem?
same issue here, I'm always missing my text messages
No one else this bug?
That's the way it is made to work and I don;t think there's any fix for it at the moment. When ringer set to vibrate, on reception of SMS, the vibrate option is checked in the settings before vibration. Else, no vibration. I would recommend you have vibrate option turned checked always..

Carty..
Go to HKeyLocalMachine\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL and change "DisableSMSWakeUpEvent" from 0 to 1...

It is "1".
I change it to "0" and the vibrate works but the screen is now going on. Seems to be a problem with the standby.
Hmm, there seems to be no solution yet or are we the only ones with this problem?
i also got this problem and i find it very annoying
The weird thing is that it did vibrate the first few days i got my HD, but now it only vibrates when i get an sms when not in standby.
I previously owned a diamond and it got no problems with vibrating on incoming sms...
I hope this can be fixed
I hope this too, cause this "fix"

works only for SMS and not for MSN. This problem seems to be a standby issue.

well, this is excactly how i want my phone to act so i am happy, though i don't understand the logic ...

Mute Incoming Ring Sound

Hi i got a problem here.
If i did not remember wrongly, HTC Touch HD has a function had can mute incoming call ring by facing down the phone, and i remember that i had test tis function when i first got the phone and it it working.
But now after testing some software tis function seem to be gone...i knew i can tweak it by editing registry, but so there a option in the phone by default?
Or I can tweak it with Advanced Config V3?
Pls correct me if i am wrong, is it true that Flip Phone to mute the ringtone is a default for HD and there is no option to turn it off by default?
I found that tis flip phone to mute ringtone function works intermittmently for my phone!!! What could cause the problem? It is activate by G-sensor or the light sensor?
I tired it on mine and if Gyrator2 is running it is not working. I've setted up Gyrator to rotate only for events that I have specified - so it shouldn't influence this. Anyone has any ideas how to fix this?
***++bump++***
It doesn't work for me either!
I discover that it is working if i set to vibrate!!!
I got the same problem yesterday.
Today, I saw your post and test it in vibrate mode, and found that it works.
Then I switch ringtone on, it also works..........
and I now know how it works.
If you set it to vibrate mode **OR** ringtone mode, you can flip to mute.
If you set to **BOTH**, it doesn't works........

I tink it works intermittently, if u flip the phone a lot of times it may work.
Anybody who has a HD w/o any software installed care to test?
Cos i remember that after i hard reset it can work when i set to vibrate and ring.
For me its random, I can have it on Ring only or ring and vibrate and sometimes in either case it will work and sometimes it wont work. I tried slowly flipping it and swiftly and agressively. Nothing.

Volume autosets itself to silent

Today I experienced a strange issue with my Leo. The ring volume autosets itself to silent. I manually increase it to max (both ring and system) using the volume keys but immediately after exiting the volume control window it sets itself to silent. I tried to set it to vibrate only but - same thing, it goes to silent again. The sound icon in the taskbar shows normal volume (i.e. not silent). When I receive a call it does not ring nor it vibrates. Its silent. The device plays music and sounds normally. I believe there must be a registry key that somehow was changed but I'm not sure which program might have caused that.
I use Phonegate call filtering app and Iconsoft PhoneX but cannot find anything in their settings that would cause it. Also tried removing them - no effect. Soft reset - many times
HR may be?
are you sure it is setting to silent? it could be that the chosen ringtone doesn't exist anymore? Try changing to a different ringtone and back again.
Tried that but still with no success
hmm, could it be that you have an appointment set, and the phone set to go silent during appointments?
Stupid me! In the windows sounds and notification settings, Notifications tab I found that for the Incoming call event the ring type was mysteriously changed to NONE when it should be set to RING. I don't know how could this happen by itself... But thank you, samsamuel for your logical suggestions and sorry for posting before thoroughly check my device.
hehe no worries, it generally turns out to be something simple.

[REQ] In vibrate mode, calls don't vibrate

Hello everyone,
A small request on my HD2.
I adjusted my settings to vibrate + ring tone, what works.
By cons, when I put my phone on vibrate mode and I receive a call, my phone got a call in silent mode, but does not vibrate. Which means that I often miss my calls.
I wonder if someone has encountered this problem?
Perhaps manipulation in the registry?
In advance thank you,
Franky
My phone has completely stopped vibrating. It just makes a click once in a while when it should vibrate. TMO is sending me a new one.
Now this is not a coincidence!
Just as I read the title my phone - well, does nothing, but shows me someone is calling. It is in vibrating mode but it does not vibrate!
So, yes, I also have this problem!

MP3 Ringtone Problem

I'm having a problem with MP3 ringtones and I hope you guys can shed some light on this.
When I go to work, I set my phone on 'Silent' or 'Vibrate' - however, the second a phone call arrives, the phone starts ringing as though I'd never set it to 'Silent' or 'Vibrate'. It's completely reproducible - set to silent, call self, hear ringtone.
The issue goes away if I use an included ringtone like the T-Jingle - phone stays on 'Silent' or 'Vibrate' exactly as expected.
Is anyone else having this issue? No custom firmwares here, just the stock T-Mobile image.
