After Rooting? - Hero CDMA General

I did a nandroid backup and then reboot, now my hero just keeps rebooting, only way i can get out of being stuck in boot mode, is taking out my microsd card. Any help would be great and when i take my sd card and put it into my labtop, it says its protected and i can't delete or add anything, i don't understand it.

Try this. It worked for me.

[Q] Using ROM Manager to Partition External SD Card

So... I was trying to partition my external SD card for some ext3 action, and I went through ROM Manager. After booting me into recovery and repartitioning my "SD Card", I think it actually repartitioned my internal SD card because now my device won't boot and I'm trying to reimage through Odin. Has anyone done this yet? Am I screwed? I get through all of the boot animations but it seems to be hanging on the GalaxyS animation and then goes to a black screen but the onscreen keys are lighting up....
Should I try booting into recovery and wiping? During the Odin process it tries that, and it shows that the wipe fails in red. Is there any way to restore the internal SD card partitions to default?
Thanks! If I'm missing a sticky or thread somewhere else, let me know. I've been all over this forum since the device was released so I feel I'm fairly familiar with the processes involved.
It wiped the internal SD card and so I can't even get into ClockWork recovery or try to reset factory defaults.
Oh well. Lesson learned. If anyone else is thinking about doing this in ROM Manager, DONT. YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE. Took it to the store and they gave me a new one. It was doing some other funky stuff too, so I don't feel too bad.
Oh I just wrote the whole thread for fixing it

Phone ate my SD Card

So, i've been running CM7 for a few days and i noticed some issues with sprint coverage in my area so i decided to restore my sense rom backup i made before flashing CM7 to see if updating my PRL would do anything (doesn't hurt to check right?)
i restore the backup and boot the rom (MikMik Sense 2.1 3.0 hybrid 2.45) and it doesn't boot properly (loads walpaper and notification bar but no unlock ring) i reboot it once and no luck.
so i reboot into recovery and mount USB mass storage to copy a fresh sense rom on to my SD card and my windows 7 box pops up and says the SD card contains errors (like after a dirty disconnect) and all my stuff is gone except a folder for recovery (TWRP)
lot of my stuff was backed up except for a few pictures from yesterday and all my texts. (using SMS Backup)
i don't THINK the SD card is bad, this is the second time my phone has done this (two different cards)
i'm running a tool to try to recover data from the card then i'm gonna test the snot out of it and see if it's bad or not.
i know i know i should backup all the time, luckily it was only a few days worth of stuff that i lost (and all my Nandroid backups) just the point that my phone ate my SD card.
needed to vent. *puts the hammer away before something gets broken*
Edit: one thing i should mention, recovery took a LOOOONG time (25 or 30 minutes) to create / verify md5 when i backup my CM7 install using nandroid (using TWRP 1.0.3)
I have a similar problem with my wife epic phone. So I try to restore back to stock but then it brick. So I had no choice to send it in for repair and they successful restore it back to stock. The best thing to do is restore back stock completely when everything else fails.

I've had this happen to me twice while on synergy. What worked for me was to pop my sd card into a sd adapter and then a sd card reader and then back up all my info to my pc. Then a simple format of the sd card which will erase everything. Then put all your stuff back onto your sd card. If you were partitioned then run the band, once completed while still in recovery you'll have to repartition. Then reboot and you should be good to go.
All this with amon ra v2.3
Hope this helps.

Cannot get back to OS.

So yesterday I rooted my Atrix and loaded CM7 on there. Everything was going fine. I then started seeing errors saying that my SD was unmounted or not found while in the OS. I tried looking it up and all I could find was that I should try formatting so I wiped everything off it, didn't work. So now I went into ClockworkMod recovery to reset to factory and now it's not booting up to the OS at all. It just sticks at the logo screen where it says "Unlocked". I am able to get back to recovery screen but that's it. I can't access the SD card at all because it's empty and it can't find it.
Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?
Reinstall CM7. you can enable USB mode from recovery, just copy the CM7 zip back on from your computer, and you should be good to go.

Did you wipe the internal or external?
If I were you I would do a complete fastboot wipe and flash another ROM. That way you eliminate a bunch of possible problems.
When I try to mount USB storage, it says "Unable to write to ums lunfile (No such file or directory)"
Also, I wiped the internal one. I don't have an external SD. And how do I do a fastboot wipe?
Do you think it might work if I got an external SD card and put the files on there? Then try to flash CM7 from it?

[Q] I'm a mess, CM7 back to stock

Hi. Ok so I rooted my NC to CM7 sometime last year, and now with all the blah about markets not working and having to do more about it, not to mention the PIA it is to get books on, I decided to put it back to stock. Which apparently was a big mistake.
First I mounted an older version of clockwork to the SD card, then when I figured that out (having format data error) I did the newer 3.2.x.x one. So that went good, I went through the steps and reformated data and system, and then went to upload the zip from the choose zip part, but it says there are no files. So I backed out, took out the SD and put it in my computer(Macbook pro) to try to put it in again but it wont show up at all? I tried looking in Disk Utility too and its not there. Any ideas where my card is? What do I do next?? I have nook complete restore 1.0.1, 1.0.0 and nook color update 1.4.1 on my desktop, I thought I had 1.0.1 on the SD card.
I've been reading and googling all over, I can't find what could've made my SD card disappear?
Thanks, I know you must get these all the time and I really appreciate your help-
Ok I didn't do anything, but it just started up to the little silver N and is now sitting there? Is that a good thing?
Don't panic. The NC is very hard to permanently brick. From what you've described, it sounds like your SD card may have gone bad or been corrupted. I'd just try again.
The 'n' logo is a good thing, but if it hangs there, be sure you've followed all the steps carefully. That's typically a sign that /data wasn't formatted, though from your description, you got that step.
Sorry I can't offer up anything more specific. Do be aware that you can restore back to 1.3 if you don't want to go back to 1.01
It happened to me and what I did is plugged my sdcard into my android phone and format it and start over again.
I did that couple time during first attempt to install CM7 on my nook
Hope this helps ! Good luck!
Try plug it into different computer(s) along with using usb-adapter.
The Eausus Partition program works well to wipe/format cards too...
