Some more info : code for Leo radio bootloader and SPL init has been reorganized/rewritten by HTC
(in many parts making security better, mainly in radio)
which makes the hacking harder.

HTC also changed some SPL code and messed with the RADIO part to make it harder to crack.
Leo has to be tamed, and put in the zoo next to Blackstone !

I think it can be difficult to start the work with Hard-Spl and stuff when the phone isnt out yet? The H-spl will be made forsure so we can start to playing around with different roms
I read somwhere, either here or on HTCPedia that Olinex are already looking into it, but that its a little " Different" what ever that means.

Normally it's necessary that some phones (not just one) are available, and also chipset producers' names are important (see what happened to Rhodium).
So I would expect that a HSPL would be available by year's end...
Also donation process to allow for these phones is normally asked for (or at least expected).
I should be getting mine the 6th and then will contact Cmonex to start messing around with my phone to make steps towards SPL.

Hello, I wanted to know whether I could flash a Dutch version into a WWE OS for the HD2. Here is the answer I got from HTC Support :
"I would suggest that you wait till the 13th as buying a dutch device means you will not be able to install an UK updates or the UK version of the OS as doing so would require you to hack the device and that is nto recommended or supported in any way and it would also void your warranty.

OliPro has mentioned, it's getting harder to mod new device's SPL. so be patience you all. I am planning to get HD2, but not until we have Hard-SPL.

Same here, otherwise i might as well go with the acer. It's getting hard to justify an extra £170 at the moment, the HD2 isn't that much better as it stands.. worse in some cases according to benchmarks..
The saving grace would be the ability to use custom ROMs.

I'm hoping to get my HD2 at the end of this week, but I'm sure it won't be long before I'm bored with the standard ROM ;-)

I got a quote from carfone last week of £150 but it would have to be posted from their warehouse. O2 wanted £250 but pricematched the other quote so I bought it there and then. 250 minute tarif £35pm.

my gues is to look for a combination of XDA / MDA / etc with a tariffplan.
Bought my MDAII in The netherlands for 172 euro's together with a T-Mobile 150 (minutes/month) tariffplan (that costs 22,50 euro per month).
Sounded better to me than 850 euro for the device alone.
Only setback is the sim-lock, but hey: Solved that with the available tools here at xda-developers.
I got mine from OneStopPhoneShop.co.uk back in February for £155 on O2 200 (£30 minimum for first 4 months, then downgradable after 4th month) which i think is very cheap to say that at the time, it was £299 in the O2 shop and £349 online !
Prices for XDAII with new contract (with data, but no minimum tariff) or upgrade have been reduced from 250£ to 180£ in my local (hammersmith) O2 shop.

Hi, i'm a complete newbie to Windows Mobile
I read about the i-Mate JAM, MDA Compact O2 II Mini etc...and i absolutely fell in love with it. I live in the UK so it's not yet available on any network but looking forward to getting it asap.
What i would like to know is:
Is it possible to get a SIMLock unlocking utility?
what is Extended ROM and what does it do?
Where can i get information about everything to do with these devices such as Extended ROM, upgrading etc.
Also, i'm interested in having Arabic support in my device, when i get it, would i be able to install the i-mate ROM on the MDA Compact or would it have to be an i-mate branded device and if yes what's the difference?
I also read about the o2 plus yesterday, again, if i were to buy the MDA compact from T-mobile does that mean that i won't be able to install this utility on it? again if yes, is there a kind of protection that needs to be overcome?
Also, i understand that the device comes with 64MB RAM and 64MB ROM, I know the difference between the two in relation to computers, however, for PDA devices i'm slightly unsure, is the ROM available for the OS only? where are the messages and details saved? is the RAM for application use as in normal computers so that if you turn off the phone the unsaved data is lost? if you install a program where is it stored? what about the files ie. mp3s and videos where are they saved?

There is no unlock utility yet. However, the only locked ones seem to be from T-Mobile Netherlands and maybe 02 Asia.
Imate jam and MDA Compact from T-Mobile Germany are ublocked.
I think there is an Arabic ROM that can be installed on any of them.
I'm also in the UK and bought mine from Germany 'cos it's a lot cheaper (bought MDA and 1GB card and delivery for less that Imate Jam alone would cost in the UK)

1. Direct bank transfer of funds
2. Cash-on-delivery paid to delivery man.
I don't know about European banks but most UK banks charge for International money transfers. My bank wanted £30.
Mobilejoker charge 15 € extra for Cash on delivery which is a lot less than £30 so I took that option.
It worked out like this
MDA Compact: 426€ (it's come down to 419€ now)
1GB SD Card: 65 €
Delivery: 39 €
COD: 14 €
Total: 544 € which came to £380 or thereabouts

Are you in the UK? You may be able to get it for about £265 on a T-Mobile contract. That price includes 12 months line rental

~The poblem was the babelfish translation - wasn't putting stuff into my basket at all.
Did the whole transaction in german without fuss. £317 all in. Brilliant price, even though I'll have to flash it to English.

YES! Once got my tracking number, I knew exactly where the handheld was at all times.
My JAM/MDA has just arrived at home - 1 week total delivery, exactly as 27 and the UPS site said it would be.
Tracked it via the UPS site, which has a lovely SMS tracking option - when it arrived at home, I was SMS'd, and before that was able to cover its progress from germany to the UK to NI on their web site.

T-Mobile Netherlands sells it for EUR 750, not dollars but euro's. But it is SIM-locked for their network tho. Lock can be removed for another EUR 120.
I just bought one in comination with a one year double EUR 15 contract, had to pay EUR 90 for it.. Only possible if you have a dutch chamber of commerce licence tho.
