[ROM][WWE][2.01.10][WM6.5.3]l3v5y Leo ROM [28205][10010201] - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM Development

I've started work on a clean Leo ROM, with multiple builds/configurations, I'll also make them multilingual when more Leo ROMs leak out...
Builds:
WM6.5 (the latest build that the Leo ships with/whatever comes out after it)
WM6.5.3 post UI changes (probably COM3/COM4/COM5 variants as well, though that depends on how well they run)
With all the configurations, the SYS will have things available in marketplace removed, and the XIP will be tweaked for best performance.
Configurations:
Full - Has all the HTC programs/files with things like sample images removed
Lite - Has some HTC applications in it, though no Manila etc as they are massive resource hogs (basically, full without manila)
Vanila - Has only the required HTC applications (Comm Manager, Camera) and the HTC SIP and nothing else.

I feel like explaining my file naming conventions, and ROM build numbers...
Build numbers are in the format YYMMDDBB, Year Month Day Build (how many times I've had to rebuild the ROM that day), so today's first ROM would be 09122801.
ROM files names use that and some extra bits. They're in the format
RUU_Device_l3v5y_Build_Type_Lang_MSBuild_OEMBuild
Type can be V for Vanilla, F for Full or L for Light.
So today's full WWE 28014 ROM based on the 2.01 OEM ROM is:
RUU_Leo_l3v5y_09122801_F_WWE_5.2.28014.5.5.0_2.01

Reserved for me aswell!

just a question, not a suggestion. I read that there is really no such thing as "manilla" anymore. I also read that it isn't a home screen replacement anymore either, it is so integrated into WM that it would be very difficult to remove. So that said, i am interested in your lite version but am curious.... have you obtained any knowledge about how to go about this? U guys are smart enough to figure it out but just curious if you have done any work on this yet.
thanks and good luck!!

It realy is not that hard to remove Manila (HTC sense) and all other htc stuff.
just remember that not of the HTC stuff was in there in the first place

As gullum says, it's really not that hard... HTC have to include all the Microsoft things for licensing reasons (I may be wrong, but they do anyway) so all the HTC stuff just covers up the MS things. If I just don't include the HTC stuff in the build it won't cover up the MS equivalents, and everything will be fine!
I will release both a clean and a full ROM at the same time though, so people can pick which they prefer...

HTC needs to include all MS parts in WindowsMobile not for licensing reason but for another simple reason: you can't exclude some parts, as that parts are in the CORE of the OS.. and Manila too uses them.
Manila is only an interface that calls MS's parts (yeah, only a few manila modules calls MS's parts but they DO..).
The only thing that can be removed is CHome (Titanium) I think, but for the size of it, it doesn't matter if it's included or not.

Manila doesn't call on Microsoft MyPhone ever, that's a part of the SYS that is included by default but I can remove for some more space... It also doesn't use the Sample Music package, FWUPDATE, SQM etc... There's lots that can be removed that isn't.

WM6.5 kitchen based on the 1.43 OEM ROM is now availible...

Umh... as for the MyPhone, well, it has an utility... synchronizing your phone data with Microsoft's servers is a secure place to do a backup...
Yeah, for us it's not because we use PPCPimBackup and we don't store our data on Microsoft servers because it's faster to use PimBackup to save and restore...
...but think of the people who don't know of the existence of PimBackup or simply businessmans that don't care about using a data connection for saving and restoring data, who won't lose their time searching for a program like PimBackup that saves data locally, or simply doesn't want to store their data locally because they're afraid of losing it after an unexpected format!
As for FWUPDATE and SQM, yeah, you're right, that packages are useless and slows up some devices (for example the TouchDiamond).
And... Sample Music package isn't so useless... hey, they're shipping a device!
If you're shipping a device and you're paying for an OS that includes sample music, would you pay rights to an artist for putting on the system other music than the samples provided in the OS?!? I won't do it..
Ouh, and thank you for the kitchen, I'm downloading it for verifying base settings (for example chunk size) of my kitchen. You're the best, man

I've been speaking to Paul over at MoDaCo with regards to AppToDate for the whole ROM, which should be implementable so you can get over the air ROM updates! The issue is, I need somewhere to host the files with direct linking rather than with redirects...
If anyone can help, can you drop me a PM/post here?
Thanks!

I've actually been discussing some things with him, though hosting there might be a little bit of an issue if MS noticed... :s
We shall see, it's a few weeks till the device is out, and longer till we get HardSPL.

this is the responce when clicking on:

well I can upload it to my rs.com account with trafficshare enabled. this means the downloaders can download it straight without any waiting times. there's a catch though, I have limited traffic (around 60GB right now). I only used a few megs of the 60GB and probably will never use them at all. So I can provide you with that for a while (dunno how long it takes to get to 60GB traffic used).
Just PM me if you want me to set it up.

Touch Settings (development ceased) v.2.2 - Change EVERYTHING on your cube!

This application lets you customise your HTC's spinning 'cube' faces in many ways, changing icons, layout, which applications are launched, etc. You can change the following:
- Your Music/Pictures/Video programs (change which apps and titles)
- Your 3x2 APLauncher on the cube (change the apps, icons and titles)
- Layout of your APLauncher; positioning of icons, etc*
- Additional APLauncher Cube faces*
- Your Weather Location to be far more specific (i.e. not the limited in-built city selection)
- Your weather options (auto-update settings, etc.)
IMPORTANT NOTE: The app is no longer being developed - see this post. However, you may still request support from other kind users on this forum thread and I can confirm that it works well on the HTC Touch GSM (Elf). Users have also had success using it on the Sprint Touch, Vogue, OKTA, Touch Dual and Polaris, plus other mobile devices that have HTC TouchFlo correctly installed on them.
See the screenshots below for more info.
A lot of this is achieved via registry changes, on older HTC Touch devices (e.g. GSM Elf), a patched version of mediahubmini.exe is installed due to limitations of the in-built applications.
Installation instructions - Version 2.0 Onwards:
1. Copy the CAB to your device and run it.
Installation instructions - Older versions (before 2.0)
1. DELETE the file MediaHubMini.lnk from your \Windows\Startup directory and reboot... OR just terminate the process MediaHubMini.exe using memmaid, SKTools or another program.
2. Install the attached CAB file.
3. Run the app. (Start Menu -> Programs -> Touch Settings)
4. Click 'Save', reset again (close all apps, and power off your device properly first - otherwise changes may be lost!) and now your changes should be active.
Troubleshooting / Bugs
- If you enter an invalid path, then when you click Pictures or Videos, the device will freeze and you will see the spinning egg-timer forever. Reset, load the config app again and double check you have got the EXACT path to the executable correct.
- If you get an error that you could not install the cab because of "insufficient system priviledges / insufficient system permissions:
- Look into the settings of your device security model - check out this post for more information, or download Microsoft's Device Security Manager to alter your settings.
- Try the manual install version instead. See post on page three as well.
Feedback always welcome, remember this is a beta, so back up your files, and if you found it useful, do consider buying me a beer!

Acctualy,
if you have a ROM that already included any version of "biotouch settings", you can also install this, just by deleting the link (as in the instructions) in Windows\Startup and reseting.
Cheers
EDIT: it doesnt work very well.... try it at your own risk.... not recomended!

Thanks for this - I've had a look and you're absolutely right. The weather lists come directly from the accuWeather.com website, and they use a different system for North America. In fact, it's easier for me to just build the XML file into the app as there are incompatabilities with their 'zipcode' format and some of the home plugins.
Please try the new version v1.22 of the app and you should be able to select from many US cities. (Install to storage card perhaps as it's a bit larger now)

No! Please DON'T try to install using this method!. This version uses a different patch of mediahubmini.exe, so it WON'T work properly. In particular, the choice of "Other" for your music app won't work if you do it this way.
That's precisely why I wrote the installation instructions the way that I did.
Please could you edit your post to discourage this, as I don't have time to deal with the support requests that it would cause.

Excellent app, one question though...
is there an option to reset everything back to default? Don't say "Hard reset" ;-)
Just wondered as I changed my cube long ago and then thought "Damn, should have made a note of all the default parameters"!

There is a default package in first post. "MediaHubMini_Original_Unpatched.zip" to be exact. That should put things back to default if I understand correctly.
Great app. loving It. Could someone owning a nonbranded htc touch please post all the blue cube icons so we dutch t-mobile touch owners can get rid of the hideous pink and stupid web 'n walk icon. Cheers
Not quite
The media hub is one thing but the cube is another.
It had some parameters which I didn't make a not of before I changed apps and icons

[DEV]New Notification bubbles on builds lower than 21xxxx

Since this should not be device specific(as long as you would port the builds to your device) I figured I would post here to try and get some help taking this a little further. This thread is meant for development. I am not a developer, only using things I have found here in the forums. I am hoping to accomplish 2 things: get full Topaz or Rhodium notifications in older builds, and hopefully this could lead to changing left/right soft key actions in newer buids. These changes may or may not be able to be made by cab install, but I am thinking it has to be cooked in. I think that a cab install might throw up an error saying inseficient permissions. The files that need changed are running processes and can not be stopped without freezing the device. Dont hold me to it, I will make you a cab if you want, just thought I'd make it clear up front this is experimental.
Been playing a lot with my kitchen, and I ended up getting the new notification bubbles seen in Topaz and Rhodium to work on my 20771 builds(see screens). There is also an added benifit in this. We can have the larger bubbles and keep the old left and right soft key setup. ie: LSK=Dismiss RSK=Menu with option to choose snooze time. That means no more 5 minute snooze. The only thing I have not gotten yet is the new icons on topof the notification. Hoping someone else can help with this or offer suggestions
Here is where I am at so far: I swapped out a few parts between builds 21042 and 20771, mainly shell32.exe and gwes.exe(as well as the mui file). I am continuing to swap out parts, trying to get the icons to work. I will make a list here(second post) of all the parts I have changed so far in this attempt. It stands to reason that if we can get the icons to work here, that it might be possible to then find the correct files to make LSK/RSK in newer builds default back to the older menu style. Or, we might find that the LSK/RSK wil change when we get the icons working. Either way, I'd like to find this out. I have flashed a LOT of ROMs and found that my 20771 build has had the best battery, and is also the most stable. I would hate to give up the battery life just to have a few icons.
I found that in the 20771 build, when notification bubbles are shown they are slightly different and are shown in a "window" rather than on the images included with notification manager(Notification_BG.png). Found this whenI was changing window colors using skTools. Could someone running newer builds try using skTools to change the "Background color of a window" setting in tune up? I would like to see if newer builds are definitely using the images and not a window like older builds. When you change the color and soft reset, you can tell by looking at notifications if it uses the image or a window. This would help progress to the next stage. I would do it, and will if nobody else does first, but I do not want to flash to 21042 just to do one test.
I am not a developer, just a guy who is interested in my PPC. Perhaps a developer could step in and give some answer as to what services would be required to make this work fully. If you suggest a dll or exe or whatever, I will give it a try. What the heck, I'm flashing at least once a day anyways
Here are the screens of my progress so far.

Progress so far
I have changed the following parts between builds in an attempt to make this work fully. I will only list the part and not which build it comes from, because all parts are from 21042 and being injected into 20771.
-gwes.exe and the supporting mui
-shell32.exe
The combination of those 2 gives the new bubbles.
In testing (has no further effect):
-Changed XIP, which should contain quite a few parts(NK.exe etc.)
-services.exe
-notify.dll and mui (were identical to 20771)
-a few more I cant remember right now.
I have tried the following to get old style menu on 21042 build. Note: This has not worked as of yet.
- added the menu entries from notify.dll into notificationmanager.dll, but I am not a developer so might have put them in wrong dll. I found some entries in one of the newer dll's that refer to the LSK/RSK behaviour, but did not know how to edit this. To add the menu entries, I just saved the resource from notify.dll using reshacker and then added it to new dll. Had no ill effects, but still only a 5 minute snooze
Wow, really nice work.
Wen do you plan to release a .cab?
Regards.

Not sure if this would be something that can be done by cab install. I can make a cab of what I have so far, but it might not be able to install. You need to change 2 system files, and stopping either one freezes the device. Don't hold me to that, but I know when I tried stopping the process to overwrite it, it sure as sh#t froze my device.

It would work on any device I think, as long as you have a ported version of Rhodium or Topaz notification manager. The dll's that I changed had no effect, so would be useless. I only tried that to see if I could get the right menu working for reminders. I know some people were interested in selecting a snooze time instead of having only 5 minute snooze.

Yeah ummmm. Not sure but I'm guessing no since CDMA=Cant Do Much At-all
Ok, have narrowed it down a bit more. Now I only have 83 files to go through I now have full notifications with icons on 20771 build. But as I had suspected, lost the menu on right soft key to select snooze time. When I get it narroed down, I will try to implement it into 21042 build(reversed) to see if I can get menu on right soft key there. But would lose the icons. More investigation needed. Any input from the pros?

i will be watching it to, to anticipate the hate i will have for you when its released and not working on my phone.
U know where you can stick that sim card?
Progress Report:
-It IS possible to have the new notifications with icons and all the goodies on build 20771(and most likely other builds). This has to be cooked into the ROM, and I believe can not be replicated by cab installs.
-As of yet, this knowledge is not reversible. ie: We can't get the old menu selection in newer builds. I have tried using the same technique that I used to get icons/notifications working in 20771 on my 21042 build. This resulted in a ROM that would not boot. Hoping some more experienced cooks, developers can step in here and help out. I think there would be a lot of people interested in reverting back to the older reminder style with snooze selections. I don't know why they would have made it so you can only snooze for 5 minutes, but it's just not good enough.
-I have not been able to narrow the process down to a specific file or combination of files other than what I will post below. I went through every file in the OS folder, looking at the dll's individually with reshacker, and adding them to my system 1 at a time.
The Process:
-Backup your original files before doing any of this.
-To get bigger bubbles in older builds without icons(and keep LSK/RSK properties) you must add the new shell32.exe module to your kitchen under shell folder of SYS. You also need to add the attatched gwes.exe to OS folder of SYS replacing the existing files(delete existing files first to ensure there are none left).
-To add the icons(and lose menu for snooze) you must replace OS folder in SYS with the attatched OS folder from 21042. This is in addition to adding the shell32.exe stated above. I recommend deleting the original OS folder first because some kitchens use only modules, some use files/modules, some only use files. This will ensure you dont have an extra file somewhere.
PLEASE NOTE: I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES CAUSED. This has been tested only by me using old style kitchen. Not sure what you need to do to use with new kitchen, so please post if you get it working so others will know how to do it. Probably can do same stepsas old kitchen, just a lot more folders to go through. That is the reason I have not switched to new style, I like to navigate through all folders and make changes for each build. Seems it would take me a lot longer to navigate through folder afterfolder after subfolder.
21042 OS: could not attatch. link: http://www.4shared.com/file/104888125/6dd88d39/21042OS.html
Will this work on Qvga devices?
Regards and thanks for your hard work.
Theoretically it should work on any resolution. There are no resolution specific files that I saw. ie:shellres192.dll, etc
Dont hold me to it, but if your cooking a ROM anyways you can try it. If it doesn't boot, just flash to another ROM. If anyone does try it on different devices, post here to confirm. I'll be around if you need anything else.
I'll try to cook it in a Elfin rom today, let´s see how it works.
Thanks
Post also OEM package of your notification manager

Can be found here. I use Topaz, but should work with Rhodium.
So this wont ever be able to just be installed on an existing rom in cab form I take it. In order to get the new pop ups to work it HAS to be built into the rom and then flashed?

correct. the modules cannot be overwritten while the device is on
So anybody else tried this? Like to make sure my info is correct. I'd really like to reverse the process to get snooze menu in newer builds. Would be awesome to combine the menu part and keep the icons too.
I try'ed to cooked a rom last nigth, but it ended up not booting, I didnt post any result here, cause I believe it was a problem in my kitchen, cause every rom I try'ed to cook (without the bubbles) didnt boot, so I will try it again, and post the results here.

- Phone profiles (icon in wallpaper)
- action (new mail, new mms, new sms, new contact picture, etc), front camera and calendar views shortcuts
- mortscript, wm internet time, cyberon vsd, netcf37, jetware bt extension, rss hub, pocket rar, notepad, modaco nodata, fdcsoft task mgr, second today and today agenda

- none of these included: manila, com manager, opera, ms voice command, office, bing, myphone, mstags, htc calculator, google maps, etc. (I install them with xda_uc)
- very few htc apps (neither mega nor leo)
Known bugs:
- two blips when welcome screen pops up (instead of one)
- Some icons still to be fixed and profiles to be finetuned
- If you have problems with the ROM, check pcarvalho's or alexander-vogt threads and flash original wm6.1 ROM before.

Nice i'm gonna test it right now
I'm flashing right now!
White screen after flash and boot - wtf!
sorry for that ! never happened to me. Did you tap in the screen in the middle anyway? Please, anybody can confirm if it works or not? It if does not work I will remove the link, and do some more testing.
Edit: I flashed back to wm6.1 and then again my rom and it loads smoothly. Pcarvalho, alexander.voigt and others have detailed instructions in their roms and they recommend to flash original 6.1 first and hard reset after first flash.
works just fine - nice touches like second home
i'd rather have ie removed for opera though
@reiteravi, thanks for the confirmation and the comment.
You can place cabs in xda_uc and they will be installed automatically after flashing. This way I avoid double space (files doubled in windows and program folder) or overloading windows folder.
gettin rid of the ie in the first place is what i need
anyway i'm in nanding android now so i'll check this rom or any newer later
thanks
interesting rom...try if i have time
For pdaviet´s kitchen look here: but i think you must loggin
http://www.pdaviet.net/showthread.php?73864-KITCHEN-ROM-WM6-5-CHO-POLARIS-VỚI-MANILA-2-0

Any feedback appreciated. Thanks to all who tried it and specially to those that gave thanks or gave feedback.
Works just fine, but calendar is spanish ?
If possible, I'm looking for a danish version also.
Great job anyway.
Hi, I will check the calendar language.
You should be able to config it yourself in the meanwhile. It is a today freeware plugin called Today Agenda, in a second today screen. You have an icon in my settings to configure plugins to be shown in SecondToday (you can add more plugins like windows default plugins or install new ones) Please, use the search function.
Regarding the plugin of the calendar, as I said it is called Today Agenda and should be configurable in a number of languages. I do not know if your language is supported but english should be.
I take note and will document more in next release and add othe languages if they are not in the ROM.
Regarding versions of the ROM in other languages, it is currently not in my agenda, sorry for that.
First I need to complete the ROM adding more support to other sd programs, adding backup buttons for the main apps (like speed dial), document my proposed sd xda_uc user customization, optimize folders for sd usage... upgrade to newer builds... test for true 6.5 kernel... optimize the xip... and then I will try to produce versions in main european languages.... That is defenetely a lot of work and time...
hengelo, jan_sorensen, listen ! why do not you try cooking one in your language !! We have kitchens in this forum that are ready to cook in the different languages and would be great to have new roms and cookers for all to enjoy !!
Open a thread or post in the polaris chef thread and I will be glad to help you (whenever I have the knowledge) throughout the process ! (and I suspect I would not be the only one willing to help
... among many others, there is a german guy around the forum that never lets an answered question last too long ...
i cant download any new rom for my touch cruise p3650
plz help me
it will be difficult to help you if you do not explain what happens to you
excellent job but...
i managed to install it in my polaris and everything about it is so amazing. memory is almost unused! and major languages are available as well .. i also managed to install the following smoothly:-
---------------------------------------
Arabic language as well n it's compatible
Manila 2.5 with the weather thingy
gfxboost
Garmin XT
Skype
NoniView
YouTube
Advanced Config
Midomi
Call Firewall
n many more
----------------------------------------
However, either with or without these apps.. this version seems to consume lots of time just to boot up (about 4 minutes) n it freezes so badly to the extent that sometimes i have to hard reset.. and it freezes again while booting up system!
i've been working on finding a way to fix this problem but i cant seem to find any.
for the same of others, i hope i'm the only once facing this problem
thanks for the feedback ! If you do not mind I will pm you to get more details on the freezes.
I am aware of the long booting time (I am working on it) but I did not have freeezes here. The ROM has not arabic support at all, I do not know if it influences. Please, if you can explain further would be great if you could send me a pm or post here.

had to hard reset..need flash/roms etc

ok so i have had the hd2 for a week or 2 now..been kinda bad tbh...allot of random reboots on streaming, msn wont sign in, sometimes it just freezes and have to soft reboot it..so now ive hard resetted it and i would like to have a small and helpful explanation on what rom i should get (your opinion) and why, I only want to use msn and internet most of the time and music...so i dont need something where i can uber mod my phone..my current phone looked like this :

i read that roms are kinda like the OS of a pc, the thing that makes it all work and run...i dont see what could be so different but there are wayy to many roms to choose from that i kinda lost sight in whats good and whats not for me... so if any1 could help me on my way id be very thankfull!
Personally i would do the following:
1) Get the latest stock rom for your provider from htc.
2) flash it.
3) Hit the tips and tweaks thread and the performance tweaks thread.
3a) Install all applicable tweaks (note: there are some that must not be applied to 1.66 and above roms. You'll also need a copy of phm's registry editor)
4) Install the new MS marketplace app, then update the facebook appliction and then install office 2010 (would be an idea to use wifi for this).
5) Install chainfire's 3D driver and configure (set the fastest settings)
6) Install netripper's LCS. Disable autoscalling, enable 998mhz clock and set to change at startup. This is not overclocking the phone just forcing it to run at the fastest defualt clock even when it is not under heavy load
7) Install hspl, hspl2 or hspl1024 (which ever is applicable)
8) Install radio version 2.10.50.19_2 to improve wifi and battery life
9) Turn of your phone, pull the SD card, stick it in a card reader and back it up. Then format it into fat32 with 16KB or 32KB allocation unit size. Copy all the data back and put it in your phone
Oh one last thing. Find a backup util that will take a backup of the registry, text messages, contacts etc and run it. I use PHM to back up my registry and Pimbackup to do everything else
i totally do not know what all that stuff is LOL i dont know ho o edit registery..i tried to understand but its pretty hard >_> i dont use facebook nor word so dont need those rly
''Install all applicable tweaks '' (where what who)
sorry for being a dumbass but its kinda hard when you go from a samsung e900 to a fully configurable phone haha

ehm, you're the epitome of what is usually called "n00b"
Here you have a forum literally filled with information, there are tons of sticky threads with tutorials and guides, so you may want to go here first:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=534
and read the first threads.
You will have to read anyway, either our replies or those tutorials, so better read the tutorials

I'm a patient guy, really i am, but i honestly thought that i made it clear that that proceedure is what i would do if it was my phone. I posted it because it has made my phone quicker, easier to use and more stable in all areas.
The tweaks threads are http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629388. Sit and read them from post 1 to the very last. Any issues, ask there but tbh it's not difficult. Getting out of bed in the morning is harder. Just approach it after a coffee of two and "switched on"
Chainfire's 3d driver is available here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=592663 (don't download the benchmark package)
Netripper's LCS is here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682663
PHM can be found here --> http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/phmregistryeditor.shtml

Right, if you are a smart guy you'll already know that google is your best friend in forum land and if you want to learn you have to want to do things for yourself. So i'm not going to baby you but instead leave you to it unless you really are stuck. I've posted quite alot of information in those links on various things. Most of them are sticky threads.
I had a string of nokia's before i got my first XDA orbit (HTC Artemis) and tbh i found it alot like using my pc and that's how i treat all the WM devices that i've had. It's not really a phone more a PDA with a phone module. Thinking of your HD2 like this may help you
thx imma read the stuff
already found the driver thing and put it too 8ms or something so thats done, i flashed my phone(got the msg ''we hacked it '') and ill instal that ''radio'' later when i have everything on my phone on my pc so i wont lose it all =) ill go and download that netstripper and nhm things and see what they do thx
if you flash the radio with customruu there is a version that will not wipe your phone when it's complete
but i dont know what versions of radios etc to get lol im still checking out on how to do this reg stuff...lol
i installed that hspl thingy a long time ago(well..3days or so) but never installed a ''radio'' so if i flash something...does this change the rom too? like if i have lets say the standard everything HTC phone has of my provider and i flash it..will this change anything to the updates etc of the rom or is flashing simply put ''cracking the key to be able to mod everything'' ?
offtopic : does any1 know if there is a mediaplayer for the htc that supports .VOB? i downloaded the pacific but its all vob files..and croeplayer i think doesnt work for vob
edit 2: ok installed the cpu thing overlcoked it to the 1st green one and the edit reg thing i think is not needed because i already have bsb and cht and i read that most of the regedit is IN bsb yay! im starting to understand now haha only the radio is remaining but i think i will pass on that one
If you flash the radio using customruu it will flash just the radio rom. I did post the best radio version so far a little earlier (there are two newer versions but they seem to suck the battery and by all acounts the wifi signal is worse). I find 2.10.50.19 is the best, as do many others.
If you flash the latest stock from your provider it may or may not include an updated radio. One thing it probably will do is update the boot loader with a locked one. So you will probably need to reinstall hspl. You need hspl to install custom radio and WM roms

hmm ok..well i have the stock rom i think..but i have yet to hard reset it all together, so i still have hspl and rom version : 1.66.404.1 (76641) NLD
thats what my phone says so i guess i have a old ro
radio version : 2.06.51.07 i guess i have a old one..ill download the rom you linked and instal that..hope it will not delete my phone stuff...
downloading from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=669042
when i open that the program says all information on my phone will be lost
....:S argg my head hurts >_> school+sport+this is not working lol
this is where you need to get customruu from. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=575524&highlight=customruu+task+32 the only thing that has changed in it is the command that is run at the end of the flash process. it's otherwise exactly the same as the "normal" version. Therefore you get all the warnings that it's going to wipe your phone.
Also please edit your last post and sort out that image. it's a bit of a mess.
LOL my phone just crashed and had to hard reset
sometimes i hate wm so much lol
me too. WM is crap!
indeed...errors keep comming up everywherree ffs
again..wow...im rly regretting this item wtf..it randomly resetted TWICE and the HTC screen stays on for about a min wwttfff

thanks dude..i installed the radio version you said and now i cannot open or instal anything -.-
It was a recommendation not an instruction. I'm not responsible in anyway for any damage a particular piece of software may have done to your device but i am surprised by this. The radio rom should have no impact on your ability to install or run programs so i'm guessing you did something wrong but if the radio is the cuase you can obtain an older version radio and flash that instead.
sorry im a bit annoyed not want to make you responsible i know..just i have been trying to get my hd2 to work for 3days now and it KEEPS just randomly re-installing/crashing :/

Includes Kitchen
I used osKitchen Zero v1.33.2 and dumped the 3.14 OEM ROM myself so I got exactly what I wanted to start with.
I've created a Bunch of Packages myself, again, to get what I wanted. A few of the packages I've only modified to get them to work the way I want. The Folder Icon's are my work.
I tried to keep it similar to OEM, but changed a few things to make it mine.
I am ill, so I will not always be available to answer questions, but I will do my best. I do this to keep my mind on other things while I deal with my illness, be patient with me if you can. I am doing this in my spare time, so don't expect miracles.
Before Flashing, PLEASE backup your Data, and make sure you have Hard SPL 3 on your Phone.
Use This Tool from 'doloop' to complete a Task 29 on your phone. This will Format the ROM Space and clear any previous ROM code from your phone so you get a Clean Flash and less chance of errors on the new ROM. Simply connect your phone to your PC with the USB. Unzip the attachment and run the Exe file inside (Win 7 & Vista, Right Click>Run as Administrator). When the Flashing reaches 95%, PRESS and HOLD the Volume Down button until it reboots and enters bootloader mode. Now you are ready to flash this ROM.
I will post the Self Extracting Kitchen, and an AutoFlash file.
What is AutoFlash you ask? I've taken the RUU file, added the Flashing Program, and Packaged it all up into an Auto Executing Auto Flashing Program, and, it's a smaller download than the RUU alone. Pretty cool huh? Yes, others have already done this, but I'm going to make it a standard practice from now on.
"AutoFlash (tm), Making Flashing Socially Acceptable, One Package at a Time!"
Run the AutoFlash file, or Flash using the Standard Flashing Program included in the Kitchen.

For the moment, yes. This one was really hard for me to get right. I don't know why. Probably just me. I dumped the new 3.14 release directly and went from there. I kept all the original OEM, SYS, XIP, Packages, etc and modified some things to be the way I wanted them. I've only been running it for a couple days, but so far, no problems that I see.
I may attempt a com5 in the future if I can get it to work correctly.
Uploads should be up in about 5 mins.
For the moment, they do Not include ACR until I receive permission to cook it in. Everything else will be the same.
what is ACR? the rom is nice

Thank you!
ACR is Automatic Call Recording. It asks after each call if you would like the call saved to your phone. The files are very small, and can be listened to on your phone or Computer. More info can be found HERE.
You can install ACR on your own by visiting that link and downloading the CAB file. The one I would like to cook into the ROM I've already adjusted for the HD2 and set it to save the file to My Documents so they will be Synced to your Computer when using ActiveSync or WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center). They are saved as Notes.
But, please be aware that recording calls without the other parties permission may be illegal where you live. Check your local laws. If you tell the other party, then you are good in most places. If you cannot use it legally, then just disable it.
UPDATES
Updates on First Post:
Now, More Android Friendly, at least using m-deejay's Android build Found Here. Tested and working fine. NO RoboVoice. Might be working with others, but only tested m-deejay's Builds. For a working Android Build that I know works for me, use the ROM WITH Radio included.
Also, added ACR (Automatic Call Recording) and some more games.
Minor Tweaks, New Boot Animation and Shutdown Animation
Kitchen is now Available!
Download all updates at the bottom of First Post.

I'm not sure, this's exactly what you want, but check this link.

Yes, that's probably your best bet. I don't know of a CAB that can delete programs cooked into the ROM, I may be wrong though.
I have debated cooking a ROM without all those, so people could install JUST what they wanted. Also, it makes it easier to install updated cabs when they come out. Opera, Google, etc...
If there was enough request for it, I would be happy to oblige.

Ok, here is the Final Release version of T-Mobile ROM v3.14 with all the junk removed. I've also removed Google, Yahoo, etc..., things you might want to install as cabs so you can update as they become updated. It also includes the latest Radio 2.14.50.14. This was updated from the Beta Release of 3.14. Other updates include Messaging and Run CC. I'm sure there are more updated items, but I have not looked into it yet. I haven't added anything, just removed.
WARNING!!! ONLY for T-Mobile US Phones. This ROM includes the .50 Radio!!!Download on 2nd Post or here:

how would i know if it is or isnt, etc?
my phone is a fairly new hd2, so i dont know what the hell im supposed to find out before i do this...

From what I can see, it appears you have the T-Mobile USA HD2, is that correct? If so, you should be compatible. If not, please don't flash this ROM until you further verify it is ok to do. Notice, your radio has .50 in it, which is a compatible Radio to flash. NEVER flash a .51 Radio as it will ruin your phone so it can not be recovered. Example: Your radio is 2.10.50.26 or X.XX.50.XX You can flash other radios that are in the .50 configuration. Example: 2.15.50.14 Notice, the .50 in the same position? X.XX.50.XX
Now, if you are comfortable proceeding, please read the following thread first:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
In that thread, you will notice that you will need to flash HardSPL before flashing any custom ROMs. If you follow those directions carefully, you should be good to go.
PS: Yes, this will wipe everything on your Phone's Internal Memory. Your SD Card will remain in tact. But it's a good idea to backup everything just in case. For your contacts, appts, email, sms, etc, you can use PIM Backup. I've attached it below. Run it and back up everything, then after flashing a Custom ROM, you can run it again to restore your data. It does NOT backup the entire phone, only data. I cook PIM Backup into my custom ROMs, but not this stripped ROM, so keep a copy handy on your SD Card for future use. Unzip the file and copy the exe file to your SD Card and run it directly from there.
Good luck, and feel free to ask questions if you get stumped.
Nice Rom
I was messing around with the rom and the kitchen and i removed some packages and now i have dead links in the quicklinks. how do i edit the rom to put new working links.

I know there's an easier way to do it, and I'd love to hear an answer from someone who knows how to do it. I've been doing it the hard way and editing the following files before cooking:
mxipupdate_oemoperators_102.provxml -
mxipupdate_oemoperators_103.provxml - mxipupdate_RemoteDesktopMobile.provxml - mxipupdate_zzRemoveTSKmgr_1.provxml
I also add my own files in my package "SuperSportzzzzz Base Start Menu and Launcher"
I'd like to know if there's a way to add a package with these files modified that will remove links. I can add links just fine, but I'm not sure how to remove. I think it's done with provxml files and the 'Delete' command, but I have not figured out how yet.
To be sure I've got everything done correctly, I use the Search Command inside the Kitchen to look for each reference to the lnk file I want to Move/Change. See example of Marketplace.lnk
