I 've got IGO working
It took a little struggle cause TouchFlo3D takes up so much mem but after deleting some voices, maps and buildings and switching buildings and 3D roads off it works fine.
I just read you'got it workin too.

Working here full screen, make sure that you use advance config tool to disable cab security warnings, and that your version has the wvga skin in the data.zip.
The cab security warnings were stopping a few things from working, and at first it wouldnt start witth it.
I have tried to install i-go 8 and it says it has installed but when i try and run it nothing happens? I have turned off cab warning etc, but still no luck. can anyone provide any help or advice in to waht i am doing wrong.

Sorry for breaking into this topic, but I have the problem that I cannot view any map. Do they have to be installed seperately?
Will X1 settings for iGO 8 work on the D2?
Used to have the SE X1 and had iGO8 running perfect.
I've tried the SYS files mentioned in this thread but with no luck?!
The app seems to start for about 3 sec but then nothing...

You may have a mimatch in versions of the programs/maps. certain maps will work with pre-8.3 and others will only work 8.3 or better.
NLCJ - YOu probably have a map / Version issue. (using 8.0 maps with 8.3 igo. look into that further, or better yet, buy the program! it is very good)
mickek - let me knwo what version of igo you are using, then let me know what is in you data.zip / igo_ui filder (320_480 and so on) i can send you the proper sys file after i know those things....
igo8 not full screen
I have version 8.3.2.93112 running on my diamond 2, only one problem : not full screen. There's about 1.3 cm at the bottom of the screen not used. I tried the sys.txt above, but no change. Can someone point me in the right direction? Trying to find the DATA.ZIP and BRANDING.ZIP v10 from LZF, but no luck up to now.

i have it all running ok but i have problem the gps disconnects if i go into standby mode or make a call and then igo 8 will not re establish a connection and have to exit and re start igo 8 is this a known problem or is my gps faulty and anyone else experienced this.
If you have problems
delete the whole sys.txt and start from scratch.
The sys.txt can easily conflict with settings in the software and with skins.

another version of IGo
try Nav N Go iGO8 v8.3.2.91972 (May 28 2009) or Nav N Go iGO 8 R3 - v8.3.2.83157 (Apr 3 2009). Didn't have to modify anything (or very very little - like a line or two in sys.txt)

in all settings i tried controls dont even appear except if i write in SYS.TXT:

When you choose [device] type="HTC Touch HD T8282 iGO8 is taking settings from the file data.zip.

i created "htc topaz.ini" in data zip and pasted there settings from HD, D1, TP, 3G and another htc that was in data.zip and none of there works for topaz...
ill try edit setting as you said later.

I have an official Igo8 8.3.2 release.
I would like to compare our settings in order to get working sys.txt files and also to have speedcam alerts and voices to our Rhodiums.
Actually, I haven't been able to use any skins available.
Do you have any hint?
What about having speedcam voices and alerts?
As far as I know it works right out of the box.
The only problem I have is the blue sign board which are much too high (doubled in size)
Do you know if Egypt map is available or not??

My TP2 will not run in wvga but only in a very long vga mode (or qvga?)
all buttons are very long and all dimka wvga skins are not selectable in the skin menu.
I've removed the 'save' folder and changed the sys.txt
i've included this:

in txt and tryed running igo with only these lines in the sys file. but not working.

Having this parameter being set to "1" results with all the object sizes being multiplied by a factor of 2.
This was introduced in early iGO8 releases to work correctly with VGA (640x480) screens when using QVGA (320x240) skins.
You can use native TP2's resolution (800x480) when using either native skin or any other supporting it - please refer to Gurjon (http://www.gurjon.com) offering 800x480 derivative (there is no 480x800 option) or Dimka (http://www.igo8mods.com/dimka_download.htm#language) offering both 800x480 & 480x800 resolutions.
Please note, that to use TP2 in it's native resolution you will also need modifierd branding/data(.zip) files.

I downloaded the skins, audio etc from http://www.igo8mods.com/dimka_download.htm
Changed the System.txt in igo8 folder as in the 4th post....
But nothing has changed when I start the software....and through settings when I go to Skins, I dont see any of the options I placed in the appropriate folders. What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated, Thanks.....
iGO8 lists only skins fitting into the current settings, thus either you did something wrong when modifying sys.txt or you have downloaded not the right skin.
BTW. Which copy of sys.txt have you modified?
There are (typically) two copies: one on your SD card and another one in main memory of your device (program files\iGO8).
iGO8 uses a copy of sys.txt located in a directory it has been started from (typically from the main memory).
I can use iGo in VGA on my TP2 and it will not fill up the screen. When I change the system text to WVGA it gives me an error while booting about the scheme not being compatible and then closes. Any idea's what I can do? Not sure what scheme to put in there that will work?

No need to install or reinstal. Just make a soft reset and it'll start again. This worked for me, when I got that message.
I' ve read about it somewhere, TP2 has some memory issues and that's why you get this error.
Anyway soft reset helps
Sorry, if this is a question that has been posted before, but can i use my copy of IGO8 and take it from my old device to my TP2 (UKtmobile)?
I've tried just dumping the IGO8 folder and files onto my storage card and have been trying to run it from there but (through "file explorer"), but after displaying the splash screen for a few seconds, the program exits back to file explorer. Trying to run it again gives me a message that the program still has not exited from the previous time i ran it. i'm guessing its not as simple as being able to remove the software from one device and putting it on another? I've seen a few people have mentioned that by changing the sys.txt file you can get it to work. the problem is, i dont understand what might need changing?!

Ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Maybe I am missing something or doing it all completely wrong. I am not as advanced as most of you guys but I do have a general idea.
Igo 8 worked fine on my TD 1 but since loading it on my TD 2, Nothing. Initiate and it returns to the "Today" screen.
So........................ Who is brave enough to make this thread work and give all instructions needed, as if to a child, to make this program work.
What works with what? What changes to sys files etc, what changes to "Branding".

And once again, TD1 is VGA 640x480 and TD2 is WVGA 800x480!!! that's why a direct copy from a TD1 onto a TD2 doesn't work!
Search the Topaz forum and you will find how to install iGO8 on a TD2 without any problems.

Thank You Tom. I have very limited online time and am not as clever as Many on here. If I had the time to search through many fragmented threads, I would. In fact, I would suggest that IF! some of the real smart people on here, would make this thread work, there would be less new threads about this subject, IMHO.

Do you get any kind of error?
If there is something wrong with your sys, you should get a error from the application
For all users of IGO, Miomap and other GPS software, for updates, ideas, modifications etc. a good forum here gpsforum.biz.

Start with a 'clean' sys.txt with only following:

Haven't got an awful lot more than that in my sys.txt and it seems to be working fine

this is what i needed very badly.. infact i tried many times to create my own rom with the same ingredients.. but always some bugs forced me to flash back to stock 1.66 rom..

I always went back to using HyperDragon on my kaiser I dont know how else to describe it except to say it felt like a perfect fit for the phone.
It will be good to see what creations you can come with for the Leo. It seems like everyone wants to cook and release Roms now but nothing beats experience

Agree with you, completely.
Used SJ's ROM on my Kaiser's and they were the best for me.
About praise going to his head, I think he can handle it.
Looking forward to see what he does with COM5.
nice have u here for the HD2 , download ur rom , sofar no bug and stable and i love it because is what i was looking for, stock rom with manila updated it, just wonderful.
Can somebody tell me what is the problem? When I install it, iGo starts loading and when it comes to init_api it crashes and exits... I heard that maybe it is the problem with the content of sys.txt, can somebody post me that text?
