I'm kinda confused. Where is it burried? What page that has all your other files?
It's not on the main Start page? Where do you have to navigate to get to it? Start>Media>Youtube. Help me out. Mebe get a screen shot of where you want it.

Well that is interesting... I do not have a media folder to select after i hit the start tab. The way i found it before was file explorer > windows > youtube

Sorry, I wasn't saying u have a media folder or should have one. Different Roms from Carriers and cooks have different folders. Be sure to check all folder in the start menue.
Since you found the youtube app here is how to get it on the start page. Very easy.
-In file explorer go to where the app is.
-long press on the app and copy it
-Now go to Windows>Start Menu>Programs
-when u get there press menu.
-scroll to edit and select paste
-close file explorer.
-hit start and enjoy
You can also creat new folders and nake ur own nedia folder and put all ur media apps there. just cut and paste instead of copy and paste.

In File Explorer, click "Menu" and then "Show all files".
That should do the trick

It does'nt work.
I tried to do what in "Leo Hints & Tips" for exp:
"1. Enable Hidden Default Games
Go to the Windows directory and copy bubblebreaker.exe and solitaire.exe to the games folder as shortcuts in Windows\Start Menu. Make sure to unhide system files to see the games listed."
I can't copy files as instructed (working with total commander) and if the files were copied I can't reach/see them.
I think you may have misunderstood the original instructions.
Open file manager (not total commander) and navigate to Windows folder.
Locate the file BubbleBreaker (it's 46K, not one of the others)
Highlight it and keep it pressed till you get the menu with "Copy" in it. Do Copy.
Scroll back to the top and go into "Start Menu\Programs\Games".
Do "Menu, Edit, Paste Shortcut".
As I'm a pedant, I renamed the shortcut, removing the "Shortcut to" prefix.
Then, when you go Start Menu & then Games, BubbleBreaker is in there.
Now I've just done that exactly as typed above, whilst describing it for you, so it should work for you.
Let us know if you still have a problem.
Hi,
It works!
Now I got the idea.
Thanks.

Don't know what to say mate - it's in my Windows folder. There's a bunch of files called eT9.Rhodium.xxxx and then eT9MyWords is after them (directly after eT9DeadKeys).
I take it you did unhide system files as previously suggested? (I'm not sure if you need to do that for the games suggestion).
I have a slide deferent question. I would like to delet exe file from thew windows folder but I can't because I can't select Delete, have anyone some advice?
delete exe file
it has been awhile since i have done this, also some files are impossible or almost impossible to delete.
if you have been trying to do it from ur phone, go instead, to your active sync/windows mobility center. click file mgt and browse contents of device, navigate to the exe u want to delete. i have done it before and it has worked on several ocassions. be careful on what u r deleting, you may want to do a google on it b/f u do it
if this does not do it, i got no clue hope this helps someone
johncmolyneux - special thanks to u for the hidden games trick, ? are there any other hidden games in the hd2 winmo 6.5 professional, or where i may find out?

Thanks johncmolyneux,
Got there in the end - I had shown system files, but seems like it somehow "reverted".
Cheers!

Shortcut to Games folder on Quick Launch?

Is it possible to make a shortcut to the Games Folder (or any other folder) as a Quick Launch button on the today screen? I have several games and it would take up too many Quick Launch slots so just using one slot to the Games folder would be great.
/Tubgirl
You'll have to create the shortcut yourself using the file explorer (copy and 'paste shortcut'). Once you have the shortcut placed in the /Windows/Start Menu/Programs folder you should be able to add it to the home screen.
In case you didn't know the Games folder itself is located in /Windows/Start Menu/Programs
Thank you profahmad. I'm new to Windows Mobile so I'm still learning.
I tried your tip and now I could add the Games folder to the quick links. Unfortunately I thought it would open upp the Games folder like it looks in the Start menu. Instead Resco Eplorer opened the folder. Well well... no biggie.
Interestingly enough when I tried the same thing with another folder called "Shoutcast" on my storage card (contains pls-files to Internet Radio channels) I could add the folder to the Quicklink but I couldn't open it.
Anyway... thanks for the help
I don't think it's possible to force the Start menu itself to open a particular folder directly. You'll have to stick with the default file-explorer you have associated with the folders, in your case that would be the Resco Explorer.

That's strange, did you create a shotcut and paste it into /Windows/Programs? I just tested it with a folder on my storage card and it works perfectly. You may have copied and pasted (and not pasted a shortcut) by accident. Try it again.

Aah you're right, Start Menu can't be forced so that's the best we can do at the moment.

Help a Windows Mobile Newb....

Sorry...As a former Symbian user (and Mac user) I am not so familiar with Windows Mobile file management.
How can I organize my apps into the folders I have in my "Start" menu?
Whenever I install something, it just dumps it there. I assume there must be a way to do it, but I cannot figure it out.
Thanks.
(Hoping it is not a registry tweak...why is nothing simple on Windows?)
try going through file manager and creating a new fodlers and move apps to that?
as above answer, but don't try moving anything pre installed because they will re appear when you soft reset.(I'm thinking particularly of the htc apps. there is a tweak to prevent it, but it can be surprising the first time you see it happen)
Sorry, but can I just move the apps to the pre-existing folders, say....
"Games"
or
"Internet," etc?
I want to just move them. How do I do that using the file manager?
I see a "Send..." option, but I am not sure what part of the file to send. IS that how I would 'move' something to a folder?

It's a bit of a pain with file manager as you can (usually) only do 1 file at a time. Long-hold a shortcut and select cut. Then go to the folder you want it in and do menu, edit, paste.
If you use something like Resco Explorer or Total Commander then you can do multiple files at a time.

from what i understand you just want to reorganize your start menu to look cleaner.
in the start menu you have shortcuts and folders. to access them you need to start file explorer and go to: my device > windows > start menu > programs. then just cut & paste
if you want, you can also make new folders - just tap on menu in file explorer.
some of the shortcuts/folders will reappear after reset. to prevent this you need to do a trick you can find under the "tips, tricks and reg tweaks" thread.
Thanks to all...got it...so far!

How can I get to my device > windows > start menu > programs?
If I just boot my HD2 and go to the Start menu... all I see is the list of programs that I wish to move. If I long press on them, it says, "move to top"

Open file manager and navigate to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs then follow the instructions above to cut and paste the shortcuts.
I assume you'll want to create folders to put some shortcuts in, and you do that by going to menu and then new folder.

HDWobble

I have just installed the application but it does not show on start menu can some one tell me why?
Thanks.
i dont know why, but u can create an own shortcut to it.. just copy the .exe file and paste it as shortcut in windows/startmenu/programms..

Yeah thats the one i got mate, its in program files hmm wierd.
Start Menu > Programs > Games....
Normally
It is there but the shortcut is not there, I wish I knew why....
like i said...
start explorer and go to: mydevice/program files/hd2wobble
then copy the hd2Wobble.exe file and go to: mydevice/windows/start menu/programs/games and select "paste as shortcut"
there u go, now u have it in the games folder in ur start menu

What are you using to copy and paste??
You should use file explorer or one of the 3rd party file tools to copy and "Paste Shortcut"
You browse your device to the program directory and copy and the browse to /windows/Start Menu/Programs and either past it there or into the folder of your choice under that ...
You can also do a cut and paste if you just want to move an existing shortcut ..
and just to be sure , we are talking about the "start menu" what you get when you hit the windows key?
Hi,when i hit the window key,i get a list of all the program installed such market place, you tube,email,messenger...
I would like to have igo and solitaire there as well.
on my pc i can't see the folder windows for the htc,so i directly copy and paste from the phone and it doesn't work.

You have to do it ON the phone, and paste shortcut not just paste ...
also if you cannot see the windows folder on your pc, you need to select activesync as your connection type, your phone will show up in your Computer, if your phone is not asking you what type of connection when you plug it in you go to
Settings>connections>USB to PC, and check the bottom box that says "Ask me ......"
It is no different than creating shortcuts on your pc, but it has to be done ON the phone with file explorer or the like ....
I do it alot so I know these steps do work ...

as said above, you should be doing this on the phone, not the pc.
start - file manager - menu - show all files - browse to windows - find solitaire.exe - press and hold - choose 'copy' - scroll back up and click the folder start menu - press and hold blank area of screen - choose 'paste shortcut'
press home hard key, find a blank quicklink, press it, now you should see your shortcut available.
As for why you cant see your windows folder on the PC, , , open up file manager on the PC, browse to your phone - click tools - folder options - change to 'view' tab - scroll down the list and TICK 'show hidden files and folders' and UNTICK 'hide protected operating system files'
