Handsfree Screen Off Problem - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

I've got a weird problem with my Diamond and i can't figure out a solution. I think it's due to .net 3.5 but i am not sure.
When i plug in the factory handsfree ( wired ) i can't turn off my screen. The light fades to 20% but the screen doesn't turn off. This is killing my battery.
The only fix i could think of is starting WMP , hitting play, screen off and then plugging in my headphones. This seams to work. But it's not a real solution.
If someone can help.. I would greatly appreciate it.

Flash my last ROM, V3 23049 and your problems will disappear, read readme first.
OR
You can try to install DiamonTweak and set "3.2 Audio booster" from "Disabled (Default)" to "Enable"

Power button?

... do you mean when you hit the power button, the screen stays on? My screen doesn't switch off automatically with the headphones in. I press the power button to turn the screen on and off

I diden't try to flash it because it would be the third time this month. I can't take another reinstall! I was hoping on a registry hack or a fix cab or something. I really don't think it's the ROM's fault.
Setting "3.2 Audio booster" to enabled didn't work.

My doesn't turn off for nothing. I press the power button and the light fades to half, but the screen isn't turning off. I have to unplug the headphones , press power, the plug them in again.

Fixed
I figure it out. I flashed with a ROM that dosen't include .net CF 3.5 . It worked and i don't have this problem anymore.
bogy16 you were right. Switching the ROM was the solution

Auto Power Off, Cingular 8125

Hi guys...
I am as techy as the rest of yew, maybe more so, but I am having a problem understanding one thing about this phone. I know it is something very simple that I am missing, but I can't find anything about it anywhere in the docs, either?
How does the "auto power off" feature work? What I mean by this is, I know we can turn the power off after two minutes or whatever, but I see that the green GSM radio light is still flashing. That's good, that's what we want because we want to be able to receive calls.
The problem I am having is that after a time (I am guessing it is the two minutes?) I can't get the screen to come back on? What am I missing here? Is it me, or is it a bad phone? Auto power off seems to make the phone unuseable until a soft reset.
I tried pushing the power button, nothing. I tried HOLDING the power button, nothing. I tried pushing the TALK button, nothing.
Is the auto power off different than pushing the power button once and putting the device to sleep? What I want is the device to go to sleep after two minutes. I want to be able to use the phone again without doing a soft reset every time.
I know this is something easy, but I can't quite figure it out?

I've been having a similar issue with my 8125. I seem to also have a problem when I turn the device off. I've been trying to pinpoint the circumstances, but haven't had any luck as of yet.
Have you made any progress with this?
hold the power bottom for 3-5 seconds , there will apper a Yes/No dia.tap yes will real shut off. Not good at eng.But is it easy to understand ?
i had a similiar issue recently on a phone i had forever, turns out that i installed GPRS connection monitor that turned the backlight off on my phone... after hitting the power button to wake it up it appeared my screen was still off, so if i turned it at the right angle i could see my today screen.. meaning the backlight was off, i had to keep it at that angle and navigate into the setting menu to turn the backlight on.. i couldnt find a fix for it so i uninstalled the GPRS monitor and havent had the problem since

broke my screen on/off button

is there an exe taht turns the screen on and off? and couldn't i just bind that to my camera button?
i did search..
thanks
You may be able to turn the screen off programatically, but how exactly would you expect to turn it on?
Of course, binding that to a button that actually works could do the trick. I think there a few freeware programs out there that allow you to change the bindings of the buttons (sry, can't remember a name, but if you google it you should be able to find one in no time).
On the other hand, phone off disables all buttons except the on/off button, so that might not work either.
i'm downloading vito button mapper now.
getting the screen to come back on was also my main concern. the only way i get it to come on now is by plugging it into the computer or resetting it. I don't always have a usb cable and a computer on hand, nor do i want to wait 5 min for my touch to restart to make a simple phone call.
any help would be GREATLY appreciated.. leaving for a trip in like an hour so i'd like to get this done..

Overzealous slide mechanism

Hey guys,
I've recently flashed the latest AMP (Wm 6.1) onto my G4 and i've noticed an annoying problem.
I don't know if it's the ROM or the fact that i've not used the device in a while, but it seems the slightest nudge on the screen will turn the device on and light up the backlight.
This is really annoying and will kill my battery quickly. Is there any app or registry tweak that can disable the slide mechanism from activating the power i.e. if the power is off, opening the slide will not power the device on - ONLY the power button will do this.
Any suggestions?
Well, that IS the way that the Wizard works! It shouldnt be turning on when you slide the screen if the device is in sleep mode...so I would say that it has something to do with the ROM. Try hard-reseting or flashing again my friend and see if it helps!
Yeah, but we are talking the slightest tap or millimeter and it turns on.
I'm going to try a reflash and hoping that it's not a hardware fault.
Im sorry, I said that wrong. The Wizard SHOULD NOT turn on when you open the keyboard, if you have powered it down with the power button or it has turned off automatically via time-out. It should only wake from sleep if you press the power button, sorry for the confusion!
Though it does indeed still seem like a ROM problem to me!

audio stops playing when display is off

I'm using elfin running WM 6.1. The prob is that when i play a song in the audio manager and try to switch of the phone's display, the song stops playing. I used to do this in 6.0 and unfortunately this is not working in 6.1!(just to save power) Any thoughts on this?
bumpp... in no one's mind..?!!
Well... when the display goes off, the phone goes into a kind of "standby" mode, all in a effort to conserve battery power... even the wireless is turned off =)

the reason why i posted this doubt is that, when i was using 6.0, the audio used to play even when the backlight is off.. now this is not happening in 6.1..
Yes, audio usually stops playing when the screen is off, its normal.
Some programs like coreplayer allow you to go the menu and press on the key that says, Turn off backlight, which will allow the music to continue to play.
If you use the Onyx ROMS, press and hold the power button and click on backlight.

screen does not shut off after timeout

so I put the dimming to be after 30 seconds, which works.
however I put it to shutdown the scree after one minutes, however it stays on forever, unless I physically press the hang up key, the screen will be on all the time.
the other question I have.
2- When I search on google, and press on one of the results in opera it takes me to the definition page, rather than the actual result that I wanted
3- is there a fix for LED notification, I installed the cab to fix that, but it didnt make a difference.
4- the pink spot at the middle, I searched around but didnt see any real solution
can anyone help please
regards
While I can't offer any help, I can feel your pain! I too am experiencing this f**ing event! I placed in my pocket before boarding for a 6 hour flight yesterday and found it still powered on when the flight had ended. I had just enough power to make and receive a call! Great.
I've double/triple checked my settings after this same thing happened to me previously! WTF!
edved.
i had the same problem what you need to do is to change the screen light setting in the settings menu

Ok. I'll try your suggestion, but please tell me what the screen light setting should be?
Thanks.
just go to the backlight settings, tap ok and it seems to be fixed..
(but offcourse check if is set to turn off after a minute or whatever your needs are)
I experienced this yesterday.. just like in normal windows, some functions just stop working with no particulair reason.. I don't really worry about it.. probably fixed in the next rom.. same sometimes happens with the screen lock, sometimes it's gone.. also after reboot, althought I find it more convient that way, it can be fixed by locking the device manually.. this does proof we can disable the device lock somewhere, I really don't need it in the case I use, the power button is enough..
good tip to always push the power button before putting the device away.. saves a lot of battery too then to wait for the minute before it powers of by itself.. the large screen is the battery's biggest consumer.. this way you also don't have to trust the automatic power off.
problem is pushing the power is not enough.
because if there were any even that woke the phone up, it will never shut down the screen unless you saw it, and do it manually

no the automatic power down is seperate from the screen lock, but for some reason they connected it with the automatic power down and left the options to choose out.
