Can't install ROM - Touch HD General

I have got HD: ROM: 1.56.401.0 (43972) WWE -official
radio 1.13.25.24
and it is wm 6.1 pro build 20769.1.4.5
And i can't install unofficial ROM! For example dutty's wm 6.5 leo rom. And another forom this forum too. :/
What i am doing bad? On touch pro is everything going ok. but on HD i can't install it, because it show me error when HD is in bootloader and saying "Loading..." Thats all :/

have u used uspl or installed hspl 1.56
this needs to unlock ur hd to flash cooked roms

Ok so as i read it is better to install HSPL
Is some easier way how to do it?
Because here is a lot of files and things... So which one i have to install? And how

it isnt hard at all. check this guide to make things easier as now u r sure that u want to hspl ur hd
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3930436&postcount=2
may i suggest u one really easy way to do all this. u can fully unlock ur phone with software from olipro. it will install hspl and will also security unlock ur phone and it will also sim unlock ur phone. all by one software. though it costs Euro 14.go to this website for details http://blackstone.htc-unlocks.com/
i would highly recommend this software. its money well spent.
i forgot to tell u that using hspl on ur phone voids the warranty

... but i need warranty :/
so what about uspl ? is it different?

The difference between USPL and HSPL:
* HSPL is an user-modified SPL that you have to flash to your phone. It overwrites the existing SPL on your device with a "hacked" one so to say. It allows you to bypass the HTC certificate check and flash unsigned or CID-mismatching roms to your phone. You only have to flash it once and then you can flash roms anytime.
* USPL is a temporary solution. It takes advantage of an exploit in the existing SPL and then loads a modified one to memory, effectively allowing the same thing as HSPL. However, since this is only memory-resident you have to do it each time you want to flash unsigned or CID-mismatching roms to your phone, because this exploited state is lost upon reboot. With USPL you must still have the right version of the HTC SPL that is compatible with the rom you want to use.

yes i read this somewhere, but what about warranty?

yes i read this somewhere, but what about warranty?
// or when i do HSPL can i get my original HSPL oe wah ever to take my warranty back?
////now i read that it is possible

if u see this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431217
just scroll down a little and u can see How to reflash Stock/Shipped SPL - STEP BY STEP - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!

Yes yes Now i install this olinex... i will try to install new ROM
// It is loading
//it fall down on computer but on mobile it is still going :/

do read this post. it will surely help u

Hard-Spl or not?

Hllo...
I'm thinking about upgrading my touch cruise to official WM6.1 ROM
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=59&cat=2&dl_id=113
this will be my first time doing it...
first of all, i would be happy if you can give me a good guide.
second:
1. i don't realy know what is hard-spl and what exactly does it unlocks.
2. if my phone is sim free do i need hard-spl?
3. what will happend if i install the ROM without hard-spl?
4. what will happend if i use hard-spl wh don't really need it?
Thank you all!!!
1. It doesnt unlock anything itself, it takes measures to avoid ruining your phone when flashing, more when you flash often as we do here.
2. HardSPL has nothing to do with SIM unlocking, you can use HardSPL in a SIM locked/unlocked device.
3. Most likely nothing with OEM ROMs as you want to, but if you will flash often, or want to try a cooked ROM, it will be a smart idea to use it, besides, some cooked ROMs behave better in a device with HardSPL installed.
4. Just your phone will be much safer next time you flash ROMs.
Thank you....
Can someone please give me a link to the best and newest Hard-SPL for Touch Cruise?
Thanks Again...

Need Step-by-Step guide for removing Telstra ROM and installing the official HTC ROM

Hey everyone,
There are multiple discussions going on here, and it is confusing me a lot.
I just need a FULL step-by-step guide for removing the Telstra ROM and installing the latest official HTC ROM on my device since Telstra put a LOT of garbage on the phone, even at startup and launching the Opera browser.
So again, step-by-step is the best option and I am willing to donate $10 via PayPal to whoever can help me out.
Please reply quickly, I eagerly wait!

What Telstra Rom version are you running?
I'm running 1.49.841.1 (71528) WWE. It is the default out of the box Telstra ROM which I sort of hate (too much garbage and branding, even when loading up Opera it says Telstra).
I just need a step-by-step guide on removing it and installing the Official HTC ROM on it.
Waiting for more replies.
Read the stickies. They are most important.
Hi Steve,
actually the Step-by-step is pretty easy:
Step 1: Download and install HSPL. Your existing ROM version should allow you to do this with no fiddling at all. Just hook up the phone via USB, and run the HSPL executable.
Step 2: Select the ROM you want to use. I haven't tried any of the official ROMs, as I find the cooked ones to be more desirable. I only mention this is a step because depending on which ROM you want to use, you may need to flash the radio as well.
Step 3: If you are using a ROM requiring a new radio (which many of the newer ones do), and the ROM you are installing does not include a radio ROM (most cooked ROMs don't, but i believe many of the stock ones do), download and install the appropriate radio (please see notes below). Again, just connect the phone via USB, and run the radio installer.
Step 4: Download and install the ROM you want. With HSPL installed this is again as easy as connecting via USB and running the ROM installer. Don't worry too much about MTTY at this stage - you won't need it unless you reflash several times.
That's about it. I've reflashed mine dozens of times with no problems at all. As a footnote, some people on the forums have reported problems with flashed NextG phones not connecting to the internet properly after flashing. I have tried lots of cooked ROMs (and several radios too), and so far not one has affected my ability to connect to HSDPA. My experience has been that the 2.06 radios seem to work best, while the 2.07 and earlier 2.08 got really bad reception. 2.08.50.08_2 works beautifully with mine and gets very strong reception (with maybe a little more battery drain than 2.06). The only thing I have noticed is that the available bands displayed in 3G settings may not list the 850 band - this is cosmetic only and can be changed with a simple REG file, but really isn't necessary.
Please let me know if you need any help or advice - I'd be happy to help in any way that I can......
Hey,
Yes I have actually read most of the stickies, there is only one problem.
I can't really put all the pieces of the puzzle in a good order, step-by-step. I just need to know how to do it step-by-step because right now they are all over the place and it is a little confusing.
@cheesekeeper: that is a really nice post, would you be able to add in a little more detail on how to do it such as how to install HSPL, which version and where to download.
Also, where would I download the official HTC ROM, because when I try the official website, I can't enter in my S/N because it says it isn't compatible with my device.
Any ideas? Thx!!
Would anyone mind making a video tutorial on how to do this?
The tutorial on how to flash a new rom is a summation of all steps and is as step by step as you can get. You first need to see if you can get a copy of your original rom though, so you can return to this in the event of any problems and if you need to return your phone for a warranty claim.
Then as Cheeskeeper says you'll need to install hspl. Provided your current spl is 1.42.0000 then it is easy to do. Connect to usb and run the exe file.
Then you will need to flash your new radio. Most of the newer roms require either radio 2.07 or 2.08 - there is a radio thread also in the stickies. When you extract the file you will find a .nbh file which you will need to rename to RUU_Signed.nbh (if it isn't already), download the CustomRUU and put this into the same folder as the radio file above (only these 2 files). Run the CustomRUU and the radio will be flashed.
Then flash to your rom of choice. Again there will be a RUU file and a nbh file. You can just run the RUU file (again with just the RUU and nbh files in a folder) and the rom will be installed.
After flashing do a hard reset. When the phone boots up pull the battery out and while holding the vol up and down buttons in, switch the phone on and follow the instructions on screen. That's it, done.
If you want to keep to a stock rom though without changing your spl then you will need to use sspl.
You'll find all of the steps and tools in the link at the bottom of my signature. There is also a video of the process in the stickies.
I'd suggest starting by looking at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
This pretty much explains everything you need to get started, and has links to HSPL in the first post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
This one contains download links to most of the radio ROMs in the first post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577717
This has links to many of the stock ROMs. All of these are stickies in this group so they are pretty easy to find. If you want to try a cooked ROM instead (I'd suggest taking a look) you can find posts and links right throughout this forum - the most popular ROMs are always within the first 1-2 pages of posts......

Switch phone off, hold volume down button and switch on. It will boot into a three coloured screen and will show spl version.
Do a soft reset while holding down volume until u see the bootloader screen.
Report back to us with what it states....
Once complete, getting out of the bootloader screen requires another soft reset via the red button....
Hey,
My SPL is 1.42.0000 XE <=== does that XE count?
Now how do I get out of this screen without wrecking the device (does it wreck it?)
Thx!!

No, that's the right spl for using hspl. To get back to normal, either pull the battery or press the little red button under the battery cover, as stated by band27 above.
Ok done, now what do I do?
I think I will be installing HSPL right now, is that correct?
Then what do I do?

LOL.....the instructions were already given to you on page 1 of this thread.
Just please read <<HERE>>
Steps:
1) Hard SPL
2) flash radio
3) flash rom
If Cooked rom is based on 2.10, the 2.07.50.xx or 2.08.50.xx radio's are required.
Hey,
Yea lol, ok. But I am a little confused.
Firstly, I want to install the latest official HTC ROM. Where can I download it from?
Secondly, is flashing the radio ROM really necessary for the latest official HTC ROM?
Thx!

You'll find many stock roms here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577717
There is also a link to a Shared folder with many different versions. I believe the latest official is 1.66, but there are roms from T Mobile US going up to 2.10. For 1.66 you probably won't need to change your radio, but you will for the later roms. What radio version do you have?

Depending on the cooked rom downloaded. 2.07 and 2.08 releases extra RAM for your device to use and thus it's required if the cook decided to go that route.
I can send you a message privately about recommendations as to not offend cooks. My signature is one of the ROM's I use as another indicator to know what people are selecting.

My phone model is htc touch2 t3320

Hi Frinds my phone model num is t3320
i want to know that
all touch2 rom is compertabel for my device???????????
if not then how i update my phone rom??????????????/
Difference is that your phone does not have 3G or GPS. No reason why custom Rom's should not work.
So to flash a new Rom back-up your current Rom (see specific thread), apply hard SPL and select the Rom you like.....
Have fun.
Actually, one of the best ROMs I found here is based on your model. This one : New [ROM] [6.5.3_23541_WWE_Radio_3.53.25.20], uploaded by TangerineTractor. It's awesome and I recommend it to you. I'm using it now and it has only minor bugs that you/I can live with and although my model is T3333 after I flashed this ROM, my device says T3320 but everything works well. Try it!
You need to Hard SPL before you can install new ROM
But... there is no Hard SPL for T3320 until now
I already try T3333 hard SPL from Jockey on my T3320... but it not work!

Hello All,
As for Addicted2Xda, the HSPL worked for my device (T3320) too & that too in first go.
I dont know much about these things & this is the first device that I own. I verified the procedure & my device in the tri-color screen reads 1.28.Hard on the LHS side. So i believe that HSPL has worked. The only way to confirm that this works is to load a custom ROM(which i am ready to load) but before that I would like to
1. Backup my current ROM (i.e. the original one from HTC so that in event of any issue, i can claim warranty)
2. In case the custom ROM doesnt flash or work, I can load the original one.
Now I, dont know the procedure, requirements, pre-req on how to do it & hence I would like your expert help in this matter. I am ready to do it, its just that i dont know how to do it & I would like to learn.
So is it possible, for someone to post the stepwise procedure to
1. Backup the current ROM.
2. Load the custom ROM.
For our device Model T3320. I also have a reason to specify "our device Model T3320" in every request simply becaue I, have read most of the thread there & found out that there is much misleading information about this device T3320 here. For e.g. in some threads you find that the HSPL is not working in some you find that it works & other things.
My aim (request or what ever you call it) in humble manner, is to make it easy for guys like me (who are new / dumb at this) to use this beautiful forum, in much better manner.
It is possible that, my aim has already been achieved & I am doing something wrong (probably since I have not read all the rules), in which case I am due for a butt-whipping from all the senior members, which i am ready to take, provided, it becomes easy for guys like me to use this forum.
Long post, you all can thrash me for it & i would gladly take the heat, but please consider my reqeust.
Regards,
H.D
Great job HD.... i am also sailing in the same ship with you. T3320 is my first Windows mobile, there are a lot of doubts and confusions with the device.
Most of the terms used in this site are complete jargons to me, it would be great if someone comes forward to enlighten newbies like us.
If you have Hard SPLed your phone, just make sure that your boot loader shows 1.28.Hard (meaning you have successfully HSPLed your device). Luckily you do not need to backup your original ROM as it is already available in the Roll up thread . WWE Asia is your ROM (if you are an Asian that is ).
if your HSPL shows as 1.28.Hard, you can flash any custom ROM you feel like. Just give a few of them a shot, you are bound to like one of them .
Once I flashed my ROM with a custom ROM, never bothered to revert to the Original crap, be it my Vox, my Gene or my Mega.
BTW if you are really interested to know the methods / jargons (well some of them), just pm me and I will be glad to help you - but please note that I have a real job, so it will take some time .

Once you hardspl your device, your warranty is void.. unless you find a way to put the original spl back on your device... whether you flash a custom ROM or not is immaterial.
But please note that it is my personal opinion, but:
1. I have a Vox for nearly 4 years now... never needed to send it to service centre... only had to change the battery once... that too last year.
2. I had a Gene for more than 1.5 years and sold it to a friend of mine (who used it for 6 months till he lost it)... without a glitch.
3. Using my touch2, flashed it within 1 month without caring for the world (BTW I am not a millionaire... if I was, I would go for TP2 ).
If you want to try new stuff... you have to take the risk.
Best of luck in enjoying your Touch2 right now... or waiting for the warranty to get over
Hey.. Please, can I anyone Help me out and tell me, is there any way flashing ROM through Memory Card.. I have read somewhere on XDA..
I had HTC GENE(P3400i), And I flashed that many times.. But now I'm using HTC Touch2 (T3320 Special Version).. And I want to flash this too..
My Problem is.. Someone told me that after flashing my Touch2 I won't be able to play FM Radio.. Is it TRUE.?
And Please tell me the Procedure by which I can safely Flash my ROM..

Newbie Question:Can I use my normal radio with Kumar Roms 2.0 and higher???

wassup people, i wanted to know does kumar roms ver.2.0 and higher work with t-mobile radio 2.08.50.08_2 (this radio is on my device).i dont want to brick my device.
i seen this in his description but i didnt understand it that much.im not slow or anything but this is my first time with a windows mobile device and even attempting to flash something.
Needs HSPL. Otherwise you may brick your device -- Check here for details & how to
----Don't flash Radios other than TMOUS radios. Otherwise, you may brick your device.

thankz
One next time post within Kumars Rom Post no need to start another thread when that thread is highly active with people.
And yes it will work with the radio. the ROM and radio are independent of each other. As long as both are compatible with your phone they will work together
ok thankz and im sorry for the post
Make sure you install Hard SPL before you even flash the ROM or the Radio. HSPL is independent of both, and custom ROM's require it to be in place before you can flash. I'm not sure what happens if you attempt to flash a ROM without first installing HSPL, but it can't be good.
I would read the newbie tutorial on flashing before actually proceeding, that'll give you better instructions.

Question about downgrade

Hi ,first of all I want to excuse if the thread exist. Before few days ,I buy HTC Touch HD ,and it's with Windows Mobile 6.5 ,and I think that the device is very slowly and I want to make downgrade to 6.1.I don't understand the terms ,and I don't known what I have to do.As I know the phone have to be hacked ,and I have to flash it with new ROM (what exactly ROM is?)
How I can understand did my HTC is hacked ,and how to install the new ROM with WM 6.1
Also as I read I have to see my "SPL" ,but don't know where this info is ,and what means ,i read that if is HSPL or USPL so the phone is hacked or something like that ...
Thank you ,and excuse my english.
DL Ship ROM with WM6.1.
Unzip *.exe, copy *.nbh in to folder with RUU tools. Flash ROM normal.
Ship ROM Wm6.1

Ok... but can you explain me step by step what i have to do ,cause I don't understand pretty well ... and what DL Ship ROM means ?
Thank you!
The files from the two links are the same thing ???
I want to ask you something else ,when I run this program ,what will happen ?The WM 6.5 will be deleted ,and I will be with 6.1 ,but what will be the interface ? Touch FLO 3D or I'll have to install it after that ?
1. DO NOTHING if you don't understand what terms mean. You may make your device unusable!
2. If you don't understand this: [TUT] Dummies guide: flashing 1.56+ roms [v 2.0] - [HSPL][USPL] DO NOTHING!
Please state at least your country, maybe there is someone who can guide you in your native language...

You should learn more and you'll figure it out for yourself...
And yes by flashing a new ROM(anykind of) the older ROM will be deleted.
The User Interface(touchflo, manila, sense, titanium) is, usually, included in the ROM, but there are UI instalable like any other application by cab. file(ex: spb shell), it's up to you to chose a ROM depending UI you like/desire, but again you should read more...
You should start by reading(very carefully) "Dummies Guide for..." from this section(ROM development).
Cheers!
MOD EDIT - Thread moved to General Forum - This is where all questions should be asked
As for your query, read the Dummies Guide thread. The second or third paragragh down explains how to put your device in bootloader. Check your SPL. It should state either SPL 1.54.000 or SPL 1.56.Olinex. This will tell you whether or not you have HSPL on your device or not, i.e. if 1.56.Olinex, you have HSPL. If so, just flash a WM6.1 rom
If SPL is 1.54.000 you will need to put either USPL or HSPL on your device before flashing a wm6.1 rom
All you need to do is follow the Dummies Guide and you will be grand
i.e. if you want to use USPL and your SPL is 1.54.000 go to step (USPL5) on post 3
or if you want to use HSPL go to step (HSPL2a) on post 2
Hope this helps
p.s. Any further queries regarding flashing, please post these in Dummies Guide thread
