BT headset + 614C = problem... - Sable

Hello you guys...
I'm ahving a lot of problems with my 614c and my motorola BT.
I can't hear a thing... I know that the sound of the PDA is less than perfect, but the earpiece works 100% with other phones... In 614C the sound is very very low...
Do you know if this can be fixed? If not, what is your best BT headset?

Perhaps go to Audio settings ? If you can't hear much , i suppose its rom related i just flashed to some WM 6.5 (can't recall the build now) and incall volume is maxed out but still it was better before, maybe diffrent ROM ?

I'm using a 6.5 ROM but it seems to be the worst of all...
Do you have a BT earpiece? If so, what brand?

I use the Keys Rom and a Sony BT Headphones and works great. Volume sounds fine for music also for calling.

Can you please tell me what sony headphones you use?

sure, the headphones are:
SONY DR-BT21G. You can read about it in this link

double post

My headset sound quite good, despite the volume on the device itself on the standard HP ROM.Using youtube's own app.
Sitecom CN-532 quite cheap.

Bluetooth audio playback

Hi all
Just got the I-mate and a bluetooth headset. It works fine as far as phone calls are concerned. But I cannot playback audio (MP3's..etc) through it! Any clue?
Another thing is that the foldable keyboard for the XDA doesn't work with it! Is there a new driver?
The Pin Assignment from MDA and MDA II ist a little bit
different. Perhaps thats the reason....
CU
I believe that the bluetooth headset profile only supports voice calls. It's not able to listen to other audio.
although this may be possible with a software upgrade as the ipaq 5550 works perfectly for audio output through a bluetooth headset
yeah, i read that too..there are two patches available for the Ipaq: A free patch, the installation of which did not go through, and a commercial one that I purchased, and this disabled all audio output from the XDA-II!
I am sure there is a solution, just hope we woun't have to wait for long.
As for sound quality, I've read that it is a bit poor, but I still wouldn't mind!
Waiting for a genius
Any solution to this problem yet? I really want to play audio (in that case audio books from audible) via bluetooth.

I've got the jabra 200 BT earset. It has a small cradle for use with phones with no BT support. Now that has what seems to be the same speaker jack as the earphone with the XDA II. So if you have a jabra just pair the headset with the cradle and plug the cradle into your phone. Not perfect but would be interesting to see if it works.
Please note I've not tried this.
mmm.. sounds logic, i think it would work. I heard there will be a new ROM edition with audio playback over bluetooth. No idea as to when, though

Poor BT Stereo (A2DP) quality?

I use a no brand Stereo BT headset on the Atom and found the quality is unacceptable poor. I just want to confirm if it's just me or it's a common problem for Atom.
I found the BT stereo quality very poor too. Tried
1. i-Tech S35
2. Gobalsat BT-830 (apart from stop/pause, AVRCP works fine with WM 10)
3. Nokia HS-12W (apart from stop/pause, AVRCP works fine with WM 10)
quality is way worser compared with the original headphone that came with Atom. I read somewhere this was due to the poor audio chipset used in Atom. Any way to fix that?
BTW, all the above 3 Bluetooth stereo headsets have excellent audio output when listening music from PC (using Widcomm 4.0.1.2800).
I believe it was due to the BT version used. I too tried
1. i-Tech R35 (V1.2)
2. Nokia HS-12W (V2.0)
When pairing both of them with Atom, the sound quality is not that good (always got hissing sound). The same applies when I use the i-Tech headset with my 818pro.
On the other hand, when I use the Nokia headset with 818pro (A2DP enabled), the quality becomes quite good (no significant difference from wired headsets). BTW, I think the Moto BT headset supports V2.0 too, and seems ppl around got some good experience with it and 818pro.
As I mainly use my Atom nowadays (my 818pro got the screen misalignment problem unfortunately), I already forgot about BT headsets.
From all you guys comments, I am not alone in having poor A2DP quality. It's a shame for giving out A2DP but unacceptable quality.
I-tech S35
Thanks so much for that information. I was really tempted to "upgrade" to an Atom from my Mini because the former had the built in bluetooth so it's a good thing to know I shouldn't upgrade because I was really after the A2DP functionality (since I thought the full release a2dp would be much better than the mini's "hacked" a2dp).
Maybe the stack used on the Atom is not that good. Have you tried upgrading the ROM?
[email protected]
what are u guys sayin ?
the quality of A2DP in my Atom (last ROM upgrade) is excellent !
and i do know how to appreciate the quality, cause i came from a V3x (quality was amazing too).
i am using the motorola HT-820.
the sound is much better than my crappy ipod video (to sell if someone interested)
to fix ur problems, u should :
1- upgrade to the latest rom.
2- turn the crappy equalizer off (its a really useless feature)
3- when u go to bluetooth settings, hold ur bluetooth device and '' set as wireless stereo''
that may be the key for clearer sound.
also i didnt like the equalizer (am i alone ?) i found that the speakers are worse than ever.
what do u guys think?

How's it compared with the using the original headset came with your Atom? For me, bluetooth A2DP is way worse.
I used the same i-Tech clip S35 on XDA 2i, and the A2DP qualitiy is as good as the wired headset came with XDA 2i.
Thanks.
Wired vs Wireless
ok, with the regular wired stereo headset the sound is Ok, but not that good if i compare to my ipod video.
i highly prefer the a2dp system as it seems ur inside a nightclub while using it.
but if i have to choose between the wired headsets or the HT820, i would rather go with the BT headset.
the only thing, is that dangerous for life ? (like getting brain cancer etc... wish not..)
As I mentioned before, I have tested all the combinations for 818pro, Atom (both with latest rom) and two BT headsets i-Tech R35 and Nokia HS-12W, and only found that the BT 2.0 combination, ie, 818pro with HS-12W, produces good enough music quality. For all other combinations, there is always some pretty obvious hizzing sound around when playing a soung. That hizzing sound is not background sound, as it won't appear if I stop playing any song. It only appears when a certain part of a song is played.
It seems to me that the hizzing sound is caused by insufficient bandwidth or over-compression of the data transmission (or both?). This also matches with my test result.
If I am using the 818pro (it is pending for repair), I will surely bring the HS-12W around. Otherwise, I will just stick with my wired adapter + Sony headset.
possible sol guys.
what is that ?
'' MSFP AKU 2.0 ''
it looks like a guy in another forum did an upgrade with this and got a superior sound etc...?

AKU 2.0 comes with support for A2DP.
In the case for XDA Atom, A2DP was supported on the day O2 released Atom.
A2DP quality in Atom was poor regardless of the Rom version, I tried the following roms:
1. 20060123B1WWE
2. Xda-Atom-ENG-20060123_Feb2006_.exe
3. R060221N_MN1ARC_RS00045
4. DSUU_ARC_C060414WWE_R060327N_EX0016__test_only_not_for_sale
5. Xda-Atom-ENG-20060426B1WWE
As described by buruburu, hizzing sound appears when a certain part of a song is played. Turning On/Off the equalizer doesn't seem to have any effect.
When listening the same song using wired headset, the quality was good, so can't be the problem of the song I am listening.
When listening the same Song using my PC (BT 1.2 with Widcomm 4.0.1.2800 stack), the quality was good as well.
So, no problem with the song I am listening, no problem with the BT Stereo headset I am using, no problem with the BT version (1.2 in Atom, 1.2 in PC; don't have BT 2.0, so can't tell) I am using, and my BT headset works fine making/receiving phone calls.
Conclusion:
1. the BT stack in Atom has a problem;
2. the audio chipset in Atom was a cheap and lousy one;
3. my Atom has a problem (I am in UK, don't have another Atom to test)
If it's (1), hope someone can fix it!!![/i]
tcmp
forgot to tell u guys : i get good quality cause i dont use crappy windows media player to play my mp3s, i use TCMP for every file i have.
and it works a charm.
the only thing i dont get, is that sometimes during the song play, it stops for a second then go back to it.
wierd

Aha! Finally found this topic. I'm on O² Atom + Jabra BT620s. The headset sound quality is superb stable on pc (5mb limit Bluesoil). On Atom... WM10 sounds too low even volume maxed, the equalizer doesn't work on A2DP. The best is on TCPMP where I can blast the pre-amp to make it louder. The quality is "ok²", hisses are seldom but hiccups exists once or twice in wma/mp3 tracks and too bad headset playback function only work on WM10 not TCPMP. And to click my headset when answering calls, I've to set TCPMP not to play on background, after clicking, I've to increase the headset volume.
Does any of you guys who's using other than Atom experience hiccups on A2DP? And those with Atom other than goldsaint? I don't think it's Jabra's but Atom fault itself. I've only SmallMenuPlus and O²Plus running in background (all startup removed), no battery/space monitors on today and overclocked to constant stable 520Mhz with XCPUScalar on the latest firmware. Thank you...
Am using I-Tech Clip S with my ATOM and sound quality is EXcellent!!! No hissing sound at all.
I highly recommend taking a look at the following,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=54621
I had the same complaint, but these registry edits cleared up my quality problems almost entirely.
Tweaked the bitpool settings to 53 but did not recognize any improvement. The other 2 tweaks is useless for me-- whenever i used my I-Tech Clip S BT headset/wireless stereo, can't hear the other callers voice. Streaming audio to my Clip-S is OK but no noticeable difference.
Cheers
I've tried my two bluetooth stereo headset on HP-2210 , DOPOD 818Pro and O2 Atom, one thing is certain, the sound qulilaty in O2 Atom is worst and poor.I consider the problem is ROM Firmware.
Some of the tweaks cause more harm than good
I removed all traces of these tweaks by doing a hard-reset, and my bt stereo is just fine with the occassional break. 8)
IMHO we should not just apply every tweak just because someone posted  EG some one claims he installed Atom Exec ROM on regular Atom Now he has vamoosed when asked to share. Some one posted a 4-letter word due to the mess he had when he followed that line
Not to go against the current trend, but I entered the following into the reg editor and it made a huge improved in the sound quality using the Samsung SBH-100 headphones.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings]
"BitPool"=dword:00000053
"SampleRate"=dword:00044100
Still get the occasional skip but fingers crossed something will come up to fix this soon.

Problem with volume on stereo bluetooth-headset

I have the sound coming correctly via my stereo bluetooth-headset, but I cannot change the volume of it.
The volume that I change on the device has no influence on the volume of the headset...
Any idea?
I have the sa meissue with my Sony bluetooth headset. I can only control the volume via the headset but not from the build in volume control of the HD2. I also noticed that the quality of the sound is worse compared to my Kaiser or the Hero. I tried to change the Blettoh a2dp settings in the registry to High quality sound but that doesnt have an impact.
Does HTC use the Microsoft bluetooth stack or a third party tool?
The problem is, that I cannot control the volume on the headset itself.
So it has to be controlled on the device.
That worked with the same headset nice on the Touch HD.
With this new Windcomm Bluetooth stack, used in the HD2, this seens not to be possible.
Any news about this problem?
I really wish, we could get the old microsoft-stack back, since there a re so many problems with the widcomm-stack...

HTC HD2 + Jabra BT3030 (bluetooth stereo) = too loud

Hello,
Today I paired my HTC HD2 with Jabra BT3030 bluetooth stereo headset. Everything seems to work fine except a little issue - even with minimum volume settings a sound comming out of headset is faaaaar too loud.
Maybe you know if there's any fix for that? Of course setting volume on the phone does not bring any results. At this point listening to music with BT3030 kills my ears.
Regards.
i'm also thinking about buying this headset... any1 else have this problem?

hi I have the jabra headset you have and the volume is just about perfect. maybe it could be to do with the ROM you are running and the region you got the phone from! I got my hd2 in Hong Kong and it came with 1.48 ROM preloaded. I do remember seeing a different thread with other people with the same problem as you on this forum. I also sure I sas some other threads on this board where people were looking for the registry weeks the raise the volume limit, but everything that is tried does not work. I hope you can sort your problem soon as the jabra headset is pretty good and the sound quality is very good.
I have the same equipement and I love it.
You can´t adjust the loudness via phone. You need to manage it via the bt receiver itself.

Right. There is a +/- which is for volume.
I reduce it every time because my In-Ears are very loud either.

yes same here. there is only one issue with the volume buttons on the device itself. everything else is great...
I have the same problem with my HD2 and Jabra BT3030.
Sound is too loud from earphone can't adjust in "HTC sense media player"
I tried Coreplayer and media player without this problem.
Today HTC informed me that maybe the devies are not compliant and I should take a look at www.htc.com for accessories. Amazing!!!
That's pretty sad that there is no registry tweak to fix that.
P.S.
I have 1.48 WWE

I assume that you mean SRS WOW? The problem is that its installation mess up with bt drivers. As a results you cannot turn bluetooth on.

I think I know enough... HD2 can't handle bluetooth headsets like the BT3030, I will return this product, and ask my money back
Strange... hard reset + BT3030 replacement (because one button was malfunctioning) = no problem. The minimum volume is in my scale "normal volume". It's not very silent, but fine for working and tripping.
The problem is known and seems to exist only in htc music player

I guess HTC Sense Music Player is not compatiable with some BT headset.

Hi
I use SRS WOW for equalizing and I have no problems with bluetooth?!?
Using SRS WOW you can set the output gain level, so it's not too loud anymore! Till now the only solution I know...
I've different problem with BT3030
i've found that when recieve any phone call, sound too low so every time to call or recieve must press volumn up every time like Sound Volum Level can't remember by HD2, never found this problem on htc3470.
and another problem is when play music sometime it's noisy
such as while listen music and phone in after finish and back to song it'll noisy.
i've use 1.48 official rom asia
waiting for update driver
Hi!
Today i got my BT3030 and works fine with my HD2.
No problems with the volume. The mediabuttons(play, fwd, prev) are not working with CorePlayer and HTCmediaplayer, only with Windows Mediaplayer are all features of the BT3030 available.
ROM-Version: 1.43.111.2 (70315) GER (it´s T-Mobile branded)

[Q] Bluetooth headset (mono) low mic/outgoing volume

After switching from WM to Android, people often complain they can barely hear me while talking through my H710 bluetooth headset, that works perfectly well in WM and/or with PC. How do i reconfigure it to actually work properly ?
PS: let me clarify again, i am talking about the OUTGOING audio, the one received by the other party. The audio volume on my side is fine.

No replies at all... how expectable
Just wanted to add, i've tested the very same ROM on the very same kernel with a different earphone (Nokia BH-105, borrowed it from a coworker), and it is working perfectly well, meaning it's also headset dependent, too
I'm facing the same problem..

I am thinking about just buying a different headset, can you tell the headset you are trying so i wouldn't even try that one ?
The headsets are not the problem.. the problem is in Sense ROMs.. i suggest you trying CyanogenMod roms.. some said that that bluetooth issue is sorted out!
I have a similar problem. I tried using two different headsets: mono - Bluetrek Sense and stereo - Plantronics 590. Both worked fine with the original firmware windows mobile. But after installing the Android firmware RAFDROID HD 4.0.2, my voice with a microphone headset is too quiet.
