Windows Mobile Startup Images... - Dash 3G, Snap General

I have been looking throughout the device to find the jpg/bmp/png files that are associated with the Windows Mobile Green Startup Screen.
I want to change them to a black or blue screen but so far haven't found them... any help?

The file is called ms_splash.png and is located within the Windows directory. Attached is a blue version of the Windows Mobile 6.1 splash screen if you want to test.

Nope... still not the right one.
Could it be on the rom?

Install a program but I can't find it.

I created an app (and associated CAB file) using VS2005. I copy it to my Windows Mobile device and then double click the file on my device, and after a few seconds it says that it was successfully installed. However, I can't find it anywhere. I go into Programs and I don't see it. Any ideas?

isn't enough just expanding you winmob device in vista's explorer?
i expanded everything and i still dont see the windows folder, however i see it on my xp, when i connect it to my desktop
My guess is something like a "do not show hidden or system files" or something like that in your windows explorer options.
Yes i have the same issue. The issue isnt that the folder is "Missig" but it is hidden when browsing through windows. You should get resco's file explorer or similar explorer and try editing the properties of windows folder "unhide"...
but the easier way to copy stuff to windows folder is to just Create a junk folder on your storage card and copy your files into that folder..Then using the Resco's File Manager or similar, copy those files into the windows folder.
While u are at that screen making invisible files visible....make sure to uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" as well. voila there is ur windows folder..

Use File explorer extension, total ommander or resco explorer
1- rename the original file to BAK or whatever you remember
2-copy the new file into \windows\
There are 3 bootsreens
SEMC***.GIF isthe startup animation
welcomehead.192.png is the green Windows screen
As an explmple, I copied I my own welcomehead.192.NEW.png to \windows\ renamed the original file to welcomehead.192.BAK.png and then renamed welcomehead.192.NEW.png to welcomehead.192.png
Reset and changes wll apply
Thanx for your answer. i got the SEMC2904.bmp changed with the one i drawed. i hang it on my post if somebody wants it too.
*EDIT* okay i overwrote the old image but my new one does not appear ?!

A thumbnail would be fine
You can upload a thumb to tinypic.com or else
Thanks for sharing
Here's the Thumbnail.
But do you have a tip for me? i copied the screen to my windows folder. i'm getting asked if i want to overwrite it. i agree, but if i reboot my x1 i don't see my new screen
Check
It appears that (like desktop Windows) the Xperia performs a check on boot of the file details. If the file is deemed "corrupted" it is replaced by the original from an unknown location.
Since you file quite likely does not match a hash check, or possibly is saved in the wrong format, it gets replaced.
I had this problem and as of yet have been unable to make an image that the device will accept.
yeah must be some kind like this but i want to have my own startupscreen!!

HTC Pure TF3D Internet tab

Is there any way to change the default page from att.net? It would be nice if you could set it to a homepage of your own choice. I have opera homepage set to Yahoo mobile version, but it does not use that homepage from the TF3D tab...WTF.
Val
Have the same problem here.
no news????
No one knows how to solve the problem??
Yeah, it's easy. You have to edit the file in /Application Data/Manila/InternetPortal-en-US.xml.
Copy it to your storage card, plug in the phone to your computer with usb as storage device. Open the file, change the NavigateUrl="att.net" to NavigateUrl="what ever website you want", save it, then overwrite it back to Application Data/Manila/
Also you can do it with Total Commander on the phone. Find the file. Hold down on it and go to properties, uncheck Read Only and System, click ok. Click File at the bottom, click on >>>>>, click on Edit. Change the NavigateUrl= (same as above), click ok (upper right corner). Hold down on the file, click Properties, check Read Only and System, click ok
That's it!

Hi. I have a WWE ROM there are additional files "InternetPortal.xml" in the Windows directory for different languages. So check there for your language. If there is no InternetPortal-it-IT.xml file, just create one. I think this will work.

Screen rotation (2010/01/08)

Hello to ALL
On the various forums for the HD2 exists much proposals/solutions to change the orientation of the screen.
I did not find ANY Simple solution to do it, much cab are totaly disproportionate for this simple function !!!!!!
I am in favour of the simple solutions: to pass in landscape only when necessary.
Who is able to provide me a SIMPLE procedure to make available, in the icon "Button", the “TALK/SEND” button ?????
I use HD2TWEAK and I could thus assign to a long support the rotation of the screen.
Many many thanks for your help
Paterr
I've coded a simple app to do what you've asked.
Unzip the attachment on your PC and copy the 2 files to the windows folder on your phone. Then, when you long-hold on the call button it will toggle the screen rotation between portrait and landscape.
Hope this helps
Edit:
I've updated this application a couple of times, and it now comes with a GUI so you can select what orientation you want to toggle with.
It's available from the following thread...

Screen rotation (2010/01/12)
Thank you for CERegEditor program.
But I cannot “change” some registers: (HKLM/System/GWE/Touch/Filter/Minimumtaptime).
=> “Write error Cannot write value data”
An idea?????
Sorry but I have a new question:
The “Contacts” icon list the Contacts AND the SIM content;
Do you know a solution (register) to list ONLY the Contacts in order to preserve the SIM content????
Thanks again

Did you copy them to the windows folder?
And what do you mean "installed the PLToggle hotfix"???
Incidentally - there's a new version of this app. See the link in my sig to find it.

I copied them onto my card storage, located PLToggle.exe using file explorer, pressed it and it installed onto my phone and then restarted.
I've heard of folk talking about the windows folder before, what are you referring to when you say windows folder?

Okay - running the exe doesn't install it. Copying it to the windows folder is all you need. (It's not like installing a cab file).
In file explorer go to Menu and select "Show all files". Then, in the root folder of your device, you will have a windows folder. You need to copy PLToggle and long_send into that folder.
I tried and it did very good to rotate my garmin mobile XT.
I will pass this link to my friends.
Thank You, man!

Can you try the one in my signature - PLToggle?
That is a more up-to-date version. I'd actually forgotten about this thread, so I'll delete the original cab and just link the new version.
Thanks for the reminder
Let me know how you get on.
