[APP] BT Toggle That Works - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

I've got this file to toggle Bluetooth On and Off.
Try the attached file. It works on my TP2.
It will create a log file in the root of your device.
Cheers!

Yes, it works ! ! !
thanks for sharing, mate

Thanks mate. I was looking for this for quite some time. Now HTC Action Screen works like a charm on my PRO2

Works like a charm. TYVM

Excellent! Just what I have been looking for. Thanks for the file!
Now, does anyone know how to assign a different icon to the file?

Icon for file
Hi all
Create a shortcut using Total Commander PPC in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\. Use the file editor in Total Commander to edit the short cut adding the following string at the end of the existing text, without the quote marks:
"?\Windows\BTManager.exe,0"
Cheers

(BT toggle never worked in PhoneWeaver or in Action Screens)
...btw, does anyone know an action screen for the TP2 where the BT toggle works?
Thanks everyone

I now have a version of PhoneWeaver that toggles BT. I am waiting for permission to post on here as I am not sure if it will allow anyone to install it without purchasing a licence and to be fair to SBSH I wouldn't want to put something on here that was not locked in some way.

Action Screen with BT working
I have now my action screen working with bluetooth toggle. It is a modified version of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=473059&highlight=hd+action+screen .

After weeks of testing Miguel at SBSH (He is a superstar) has now fixed PhoneWeaver to switch Bluetooth. He has just given me permission to post the file on here.
For registered users just install it over the existing version. For new users you should be able to install it as a trial and I would be surprised after you've used it if you do not buy a licence key.
I have used the software for ages on all my previous devices and wouldn't be without it.

does anyone know what registry value i can look at to tell if BT is on or off? this location has also changed with the new stack...

Just post a link to their site. any cab you post here would not be unlocked, but there might be newer versions (people read these threads at a later date).

Something wrong
With the default WM action key, which brings up the screen with 12 action buttons, one of which is BT; another is WiFi?

[new release] VJKeyPress

Guys, I've made a generic keypress app. I'm sure one exists elsewhere in the world, but I wrote mine.
It can be used to send any virtual key from the command line.
So you could set up a shortcut eg
VJKeyPress.exe 93
will show the "context menu" for the current app.
91 will show the start menu.
27 is the escape key.
Check it out on my website, www.vijay555.com
Don't forget to click on an ad or make a donation!
EDIT - 19.04.06: added -cut, -copy, -paste.
V
Great ! Very useful !
I was wondering whether it is possible to activate/desactivate the GPRS with your keypress app ? :?:
Hmm, never thought about it. Are there no hacks already around for this?
If not, stick a request on my forum on my website and I'll try to get around to it if no one else does.
V
No, never find a hack for this...
Ok, I'm going to write a request on your forum for this  thanks !

Are you looking for this app? http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33313&highlight=gprs+disconnect
cktlcmd - I don't think that's quite what he wants. He wants an executable that will disconnect from GPRS.
If no one else comes up with one, I should be able to write one.
V
Thanks for the link
Unfortunately, this is not what I'm looking for...
I'm looking for a little software that can be launch by a shortcut (or directly) in SPB Pocket+ or XBar that can activate/descativate GPRS Connexion.

Hi ViJAY555,
iam searching for a tool where i can easily copy stuff to the clipboard. I have seen this at my trial of Wisbar Advanced that i can configure each item in the taskbar to open a clipboard menu to copy and paste stuff.
Iam wondering for a long time why this is not possible also on the PDAs likley on the PC you pressing CTRL-C and CTRL-V.
The life would be much easier... I thought on your VJKEYPRESS but havent found any key for that. Maybe you know another tool whith this functionality?
topcaser: I believe the PHM Key tools includes this function.
I will be developing something to help with the clipboard, it's coming together slowly

do you have a link to the phm key tools. I googles already - not with much luck.
but i think, that you will hack anyway a good solution. In my opinion having a hardware key to copy and paste things is a great added value.
Topcaser - I don't have a link with me. I think they're posted on the forum somewhere. If we get stuck, I'll post it from home later. If we get really stuck I'll make a new app

Yeah, PHM keys is better. PHM uses a weird API command that I can't get to work properly yet. Need to waste some more time on it when I get some time. But yes, PHM is definitely better for copy/paste.

Turn Bluetooth ON/OFF from Today?

Is there any programs that will let me turn Bluetooth & WiFi on/off directly from the today screen?
By directly I mean a toggle switch rather than a link to the settings page?
Anyone know of one? I've got SPB PockePlus installed, but that doesn't seem to have that option in there?
Thanks
http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJVolubilis
That seems like it'll do the trick, but PocketPlus won't let me assign arguments to an exe, so is there anything freeware that can?

Create a link (.lnk) to the .exe. Put all the arguments you need in it. Use the link with pocketPlus.
How do I create a link/shortcut on the PPC though, I have no option in the context menus?

I recommend using Total Commander instead. It has a built-in simple text editor, which makes it easier to edit that shortcut than opening it up in Pocket Word and whatnot.
And for very specialist markets, where an app that won't let you use shortcuts at all, try VJBrisk.
V
Sorted, got it working now. Thanks chaps.
Just on the look out for some Bluetooth icons to show on or off. Also, any progress on getting the wifi to work without have to enable it first via comm manager?

I do not know how to do that, but I managed to map hardware button to slide.exe. To do that you have to create a link to it (for example to programs folder). Then you can map this link via Settings >> Buttons. Only issue I am having is that the time is lagging two hours on Slider screen.

Just a guess - I don't have the application installed and haven't had that program but your phone has to clock settings Home -> Visting. Maybe your phone is accidentally set to Visiting clock and the home clock is off by a bit and the applications are pulling the time from the Home clock? It's a shot in the dark guess but worth a shot!

Thanks for the reply that was actually the first thing that i checked when i noticed the problem
Clock Off
Best guess I can give is that the time isn't being adjusted for time zone. Mine is 5 hours ahead and I am in US Central time zone (GMT -6) so it is close to Greenwich mean time.
I would try to fix this myself since the source is provided but I need a developers kit and a compiler...
Edited:
Actually if I remember correctly (big IF) daylight savings time is a US thing so with DST right now that would put the offset right at GMT.
anybody figure out how to fix the timing issue

Well, I have written one that worked on my HD2.
Find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9327417&postcount=2936
Here is cab file that contains this program.
Installs in Program Files and creates a shortcut in Start Menu
Can be uninstalled

Some bluetooth utils you might find useful

The first is A2DPSwitch. I wrote this a while ago and posted in the Kaiser forum. Posting it here because I made some changes and think some here might find it useful. It simply toggles the connection to an A2DP headset. Simply run the exe and if connected it will disconnect. If disconnected it will connect. The new changes are that now it checks to make sure BT is on first, and turns it on if it isn't. The other is a fix. Before if there was a non A2DP headset and an A2DP headset in range sometimes it wouldnt work. Now it always finds the A2DP headset. Useful for those pesky car head units that don't automatically connect A2DP. The cab will place a shortcut in the start menu.
The second is BTKeepAlive. An exe that runs in the background and checks to make sure BT is on and turns it on if it isn't. The checking interval in milliseconds can be modified by changing HKCU\Software\JKing\BTKeepAlive\Interval (DWORD). The default value is 60000 (one minute) and if that reg value does not exist 60000 will be used. BTKeepAlive 1.1 can now also keep discoverable mode on. Set HKCU\Software\JKing\BTKeepAlive\KeepVisible (DWORD) to 1 and BT will be kept on invisibility mode. The default is 0. I know there is a mortscript written to do this but I would prefer not to leave this up to a mortscript. Also, BTKeepAlive will automatically check immediately after the device is woken from sleep. Run BTKeepAlive.exe to start it and run BTKeepAlive.exe again to terminate it. The cab will place shortcuts in the start menu and in startup, and will create the reg value.
While you're at it, why not assign A2DPSwitch to the long press of a volume key?
[/Shameless plug]
Now back to working on X1BC. Cheers!
Thanks. It's a must for buggy HTC bluetooth driver across all their devices. My Kaiser and X1 always drop A2DP connection after phone call, and it would not happen on my Asus P525 on Eten M600
why is it after i have installed it, it doesnt seem to run? it just show a blank icon and doesnt do anyhting. its for both programs.

The programs do not have interfaces. BTKeepAlive will just run in the background. click on it again and you will get a notification that it is exiting. A2DPSwitch toggles and A2DP connection. Do you have a wireless stereo headset?

A cab file is an installer that you can run directly on your PPC. Just copy the cab file to your X1 using Active sync or by copying it to your storage card and open it on your X1 using the file explorer.

That is strange that you must keep bluetooth on visible for your head unit to connect. Sure, I will add a registry value "KeepVisible". If the value is 1 btkeepalive will keep visibility on.
Ok, version 1.1 uploaded. Set HKCU\Software\JKing\BTKeepAlive\KeepVisible (DWORD) to 1 and BT will be kept on invisibility mode. The default is 0.

Hmm, I am really not sure why that is. It should be in add remove programs as "Jonathan King's BTKeepAlive". How did you install it? Did you manually run the cab or did you use something like UC to install? To manually remove, stop the program, delete the shortcuts from \Windows\Startup and from \Windows\Start Menu\Programs, delete the program from \Program Files\BTKeepAlive, and delete the reg key HKCU\SOFTWARE\JKing\BTKeepAlive.
confirmed with my x1 too btkeepalive keeps on bluetooth all the time!!!! great work!
JKingDev, may i make a request ?? hmmm ! could you create a deamon that when the handsfree from your car connects the deamon would activate a2dp ??
this would be a killer deamon !!! like you said that car a2dp is a pain ...
This script works perfectly, thank you so much! My HTC Diamond disconnects bluetooth randomly when paired to my BMW bluetooth so hopefully it'll work as well in my car as it does when I toggle off bluetooth manually. One quick question, if I set the dword to 1000 (1 sec) will that have any impact on my battery? I'm hoping not as this is such a tiny program but I really have no idea.
