send a picture ... by bluetooth !!! - Hero, G2 Touch General

just a simple question realy
HOW DO YOU SHARE YOUR PICTURES BY BLUETOOTH
also y wont blue tooth stay discoverable permentaly .....

I don't think it supports file sending and receiving as standard.
There are a number of apps in the market which easily allow sending, receiving is a bit trickier.
Check this app:
http://www.cyrket.com/package/com.alex.BluetoothFileshare

Follow these instructions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4253529
And then download BlueX off the market place.
Bluetooth will work 100% sending and recieveing

This is a shock to me that a £400 phone cannot even send files via bluetooth especially when my old i8910 could do so with ease.

shocked is an under statement !!!
note to self should have gone for the diamond 2

Blame Google not HTC tho, fully functioning Bluetooth is promised with every new, milestone release of Android. I think A2DP audio profile appeared in 1.5 but I don't think anything will appear in donut.

Bluetooth issues

hello,
ok, can the g1 send pics bluetooth? i didnt see an option, and when my wife tried to send a pic blue tooth to me it wouldnt go.. it paired the phone but could not send pics.
rooted g1/hardspl/rc33 1.41
This is as close to a FAQ as it can get.
No, it can't. Current version of Android (at least those available to us mortals) only support headset/hands free BT profiles.
/Mats
ah, i c... thats' kinda crapy, considerin this phone can do almost every thing except wipe for me..... well... thanx for lettin me know!
When the G1 was released, the BT part of Android wasn't completely finished. so instead of releasing something potentially buggy. the BT functionality was stripped down to a bare minimum. Before its release. it was even rumored not to have any BT at all!
I believe the next version (Cupcake) will improve on the current situation.
/Mats
wow, that's actually kind of lame.... i guess i'd rather not have a super buggy phone, but i would use the BT to transfer pics alot with the behold, till i got this one....
well i hope they do fix it !
again thanx for info!
What you are discussing here is THE SINGLE reason why my G1 will be going on ebay very shortly. It is really annoying not being able to send/receive files as well as not being able to use my bluetooth headphones (paid £70 6days before I got my G1) to listen to music.
The BT stack (bluez) can do it.. there's just no UI for any of it, which is a shame.
I suspect it's because it originates in the US where they don't use BT much.. the iphone has the same issue.

That' what you get for not doing your home work before you buy.

AD2P
AD2P is already in lined up in the cupcake devel from my understanding; The G1 is well worth the wait to use my BT headphones .

Question for Nexus One Owners: Blue&Me?

If anyone knows weather or not Nexus One (or even Android) fully supports Fiats Blue&Me system it would be great to get a reply.
We've been trying to find out for awhile but very limited on info.
Blue&Me is one of the best (if not the best) Voice/Text-To-Voice systems built into Fiat cars, and more car makers are signing up to it, so if anyone's able to test weather or not the SMS Reader & Voice calls (call + hang up) works with Blue&Me it would be brilliant.
I wouldn't count on it working. Android barely has file sending/receiving over bluetooth.
I'm not sure how tech savvy you are... If you are not already aware of it you should try and find which Bluetooth profiles are needed and which ones the N1 supports. That should be a good indication as to whether it will work or not.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile
it supports phonebook sync, a2dp, handsfree, surely that's all it needs? but do they work well together?

Sounds like the calling would work, but weather SMS Reader function would work im not sure, seems only sony ericson have it pinned at the moment, WM6.5 doesnt, which i find a screw job considering Blue&Me is a Windows Mobile device.
I'm trying to get hold of a friend with an android phone, maybe i'll get a hint from that as to what works or not.
If anyone else can test it with a nexus one.. would be great

Nice & sunny today....
All works except SMS Reader.
HTC Desire.
From what I recall, it needs the device to send sms over bluetooth. From all the speech to text, text to speech apps out there and the fact its based on open source kernel, I live in hope that someone will fix it ;-)
You don't need Blue&Me to have your SMS read - just use Tasker (http://tasker.dinglisch.net/).

Hi 8eaker,
I've been trying to get my Desire to talk with my Alfa 159's Blue&Me+Nav system but no luck so far.
The phone keeps saying that the [bluetooth] connection is broken.
My car was last updated 3-4 months ago.
Did you get a more recent update maybe?
What make is your car?
Thanks!

The weather shouldn't affect the N1's bluetooth.
How many Voice/Text-to-Voice systems are built into Fiat cars?
Everything except SMS reader work fine on a Fiat 500. No better or worse than my g1 was.
hey befunged would you please let me know if u got ur phone music playing through the car speakers, frankly i dont need the SMS reader, and i cant seem to get to work, the 500 sees my N1 as a handsfree as far as its concerned. but i would love more of it...please help really appreciate it.
I have a Fiat Punto EVO with Blue&Me and I am unable to get my Nexus ONE to stay paired.
I got it paired once and it worked briefly but than lost connection after several seconds.
Any have any ideas as I just bought the car expecting it to work with my phone
Blue and me just looks like a headset to the phone. You can't stream music over bluetooth. The limitation is with blue and me, not android.
You'd think fiat could provide an update but since they can't even display mp3 song names properly I wouldn't hold my breath

Bluetooth to car?

Im new to the android system and am having difficulties pairing the Bluetooth of the X10 to my car system (this worked a dream with the X1). I know there are issues with the Bluetooth android 1.6 version but the spec of the phone included A2dp. Any ideas why the car can not pick up the phone were as phones 2-3 yrs older can?
i have bluetooth connection with x10 and carradio. turn on bluetooth, in setting you have turn on the option discovable ... blablabla ... and than search for the radio... and make connection ...
Sent from my X10i using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Cheers for the reply. I managed to sort the issue out. Had to unpair the previous handset from the car. X10 works a dream now ;-)
And in synching your phone to the car all of your contacts get synched as well?
On my BMW BT phone-kit I only get about half of my approx. 600 phone contacts moved over. Anyone know what could be the problem here? The exact same contacts were always 100% glitch-free when synching with my old Rhodium (WM TP2) phone...?
Dialing, answering, speaking to the contacts I actually have in the car works fine, but... there are so many missing!
Cheers/M
In my car the X10 BT stops working after 1 minute according to the issues mentionned here (http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=3960#makechanges)
It's a pity

I have some contacts missing also.. From names S-Z.. I have no idea why this is .. When i manually dial the number from the car dial the number and name gets recognized. Very strange indeed Must be a limit on how many numbers are available to sync?
now i realize it's android's problem not x10's problem
that's a good thing to know....
cuz my x1 worked fine, and x10 borke my heart while it cant link to my car properly.....
now I'll just wait for the fix
was thinking to return it. lol now it seems now it's not nessecry =D

[Q] Is Bluetooth Working?

I Tried Twice To Connect via Bluetooth with both my laptop and another phone but It Always says service not supported and I couldn't Receive any files through Bluetooth, although it pairs fine.
any Ideas?
Thanx in advance
You can only pair with a headset with WP7 as of now. It won't pair with computers and other mobile devices, but I'm sure someone is working on getting it to work.
And this is for all WP7 devices right now not just HD2.

Nokia Bluetooth File Transfer

I have an Nokia 822 with native Bluetooth file transfer installed. Whenever I want to pair the phone with my sister's iPhone to send her pics, her iPhone says that Windows Phone is not suported...WT
Strange....my 810 sends Bluetooth files to my girlfriends GS3 just fine...maybe it's the iPhone that has the problem ?.

I'll redirect you to that link here - it might help you: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19512_7-57487855-233/ios-could-get-bluetooth-file-sharing/
But as was already said: iOS does not support OBEX file transfer via Bluetooth which is the standard everyone else has been using for sending files via Bluetooth since there was Bluetooth.

Gasoline engines are ancient technology and they also come in handy from time to time.
Well now I'm even more glad that I didn't get an iPhone. Ugh we are getting them at work so I will have no choice but to carry it around.
