Opera freezes/fails to load page every so often. - Touch HD General

When I open Opera every so often it fails to load a page.
Shutting it down and re-starting it (maybe once or twice) seems to do the trick but it's a bit annoying it fails to load on the first attempt.
Anybody know how to fix this problem?
Any help appreciated.

Has this just started to happen recently? Have you changed anything on your phone, i.e. new rom etc. Are you using stock rom?
A little more info would be greatly appreciated so we can help you more efficiently.
Thanks
Ricky

It's happened since I got the phone really.
I've not changed the ROM on the phone since I got it.
Going in to "settings - about" I can see the build is CE OS 5.2.20764 (Build 20764.1.4.3)
The problem is mainly down to opening the browser and choosing a first page to browse or clicking on a link and the browser opening but failing to open the page.
The little bar at the bottom goes across approx 1/2 cm and then stops.
Close the browser and open it up again and it normally works (sometimes I'll have to do this twice or three times).
Hope this helps.

hi ,
I had the same problem ,and offer that you
install a newer or more stable version of opera
i.e (16070)...
although this may not completely solve
the problem ,may reduce it.
give it a shoot !

do you have a link where I can download opera.

Opera crash bang boom

Hi
Anyone else noticed that Opera is VERY instable. Usually when a download takes too long and I try to abort and load another url it kills the phone totally and only thing left is to remove the battery. Ironically this usually happens when I demo the phone for a friend.. hey check this out oops phone died..
Which build of Opera do you use? Enter opera:about in your location bar in order to find it out. I am running the 2392 build and it works just fine.

1. Opera can't load the page after you switched the connection (wifi <> GPRS>,you need close the Opera and run again.
2. After I install the 3D driver,HD hang when I am closing the Opear(I can't prove that )

I have build 2682
Can I update with downloads from the official opera-site? I read somewhere here that the phone uses a slightly modified version with the zoom-slider.
I took the version published somewhere in the forum here. I think the problem with using other version(s) is the g-sensor. You will need Gyrator2 in order to rotate your screen.
How do you upgrade the version of Opera that is included with the default HTC rom?

Opera crashes ?

50% of the time I go into opera via direct URL link from email it crashes.
quite a nasty crash, the device just freezes and I have to reboot (no other button responds, and screen stays permenantly on, showing opera starting to load page)
anyone else get this ?

I've just clicked on about 10 different email links, closing Opera each time and I can't reproduce this problem. Are you using the Opera version that came with the SuperROM?

Browser Error

Ever since the latest 2.2 update I've been experiencing a LOT of odd browser behavior - One of the most annoying one is:
"Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error"
But really nothing ever loads. Now if I restart the phone completely there's a good chance that the page will display with no problems.
Is anyone experiencing the same thing? Is there a fix for it? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this has become quite a pita and renders the phone useless for anything else than phone calls.
Thanks!
?? Never heard of that problem before.... which ROM are you on? Try force stopping browser from application settings instead of rebooting the phone.

Running:
Android 2.2
Kernel 2.6.32.9-27227
Build number: FRF91
Pretty much the default OTA update provided by Google
I've never seen this problem. Go to application settings and then choose "Clear Data" (it will clear all your bookmarks and cache), then Force Stop to restart the browser.
I went ahead and cleared everything - Even did a fresh flash from the latest ROM obtained from google.
Same issue - One of the main site that keeps throwing these errors is yfrog.com - Anyone on their nexus one feel like checking this link:
http://yfrog.com/0mihazj
Error is:
line 36 at column 10: Opening and ending tag mismatch: link line 0 and script
I think the line is wrong, and it's probably looking at the xhtml validation failing since the 2 css link tags weren't closed properly. Pretty GAYYY if you ask me. When did I ask my Android phone to care about mis-match tags??

just so you know...you are not alone in this issue, i have had some strange issues too....using the stock browser, i will be on cnn's website, click a link , and all i get is a blank page, it never loads to the link i clicked...i have no work-around other than using dolphin which i have no issues with at all.
Sweet - Finally someone else is having that problem
I've installed dolphinHD and kinda liking it.
Just wished the default browser would work too.
For ****s and giggles I opened up a 'bug' on google:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=10035
Who knows maybe someone will look at it.
that yfrog.com page opens perfectly fine for me with no errors.
Using:
Cyanogen 6.0 RC1

None of the browsers are working for me...

Default browser stops responding after few minutes of browsing, dolphin HD stops and closes on its own for no reason, opera web browser takes forever to load a page... I'm really fraustated, I've tried all the popular browsers. What shall I do, please someone help me here...

I would start with heading over to the dev section and either:
- Read this about how to make sure you are running the most recent ota update. All you need is a few mins and a microSD card (Vache's thread) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113878
- Update to the early release of 3.1 - i find browsing much improved, but never had any real issues beyond an occasional force close - I personally find browsing to be much faster and stable with 3.1
Very easy to update to early release of 3.1 and roll it back whenever Acer releases the official 3.1 now that the community has cwm working and both 3.0.x and early 3.1 are rootable
You could also try some of the custom ROMs from the dev section - I have not done so myself yet, have not had the free time - but I hear very good things about them.
Hope that helped a little.
rouge app not playing nice
You might wanna Dona factory reset on your tablet.backup your data only reinstall your apps back one at a time and test browser experience between app usage. That will help you maybe find the bad app if it is the issue
Hope this helps

So you don't want to solve your problems? Doing a factory reset takes less then 5 mins of effort, checking your version of honeycomb and upgrading to the latest official OTA build takes less then 20 mins, installing the unofficial 3.1 also takes about 20 mins of effort.
How about some actual useful data about your issue? What version are you running? What web page is causing you so many issues? Have you taken the time to read Vache's OTA update thread (I even linked it in my previous response) and ensured you are even up to date on your software?
If you cannot take the time and trouble to provide us with data we can use to point you in the right direction you should go ahead and delete this thread - we cannot fix your a500 for you, but we can point you in the right direction so you can solve your problem.
Web browsing is amazing on my a500 - fast, responsive and stable. If you want to provide some useful data so we can get yours working the same, I will be happy to help all I can.

[HELP] i9500 Web browser (Chrome, Opera) keeps force closing

Hi All,
I hope you are able to help. I have had my i9500 for three weeks now and absolutely love it. The one problem I have with it is Chrome (or Opera) will force close every now and then. It doesn't matter how many tabs I have open and it doesn't seem to happen after xx minutes of browsing, it just occurs randomly. I have tried several stock ROMS and it happens in all of them. I'm currently on UBUMF3, Rooted with Philz recovery.
I have also tried limiting the background processes to 4 (and then 2) and it still crashes.
Any Help will be greatly received!
Ian
Ah man, nobody has any suggestions? Its doing my head in!

Im having that issue with stock unrooted UBUAMDK firmware, i havent found any way to fix it but since its not that often i dont really bother to look for a fix
I might just wait till samsung finally releases some update for my region(TPA)
Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I had the same issues, including google earth, snapchat, chrome, opera and google+ after updating to XXUBMF4.
What solved everything in the end was updating to XXUBMF8 ROM and factory reset.
You might have to do some experimenting.

cheers

its very irritating,
chrome is faster than the stock browser, also can sync all the bookmark and opened tabs with multiple devices.
but always force close.
