Solved Morph Gear button maping Problem. - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Hi,
I had problems to map hardware keys ( slider keys ) with Morph Button.
Every time I mapped a button it show the key code 229.
I read the post Key Assign Problem (Morphgear+PocketGBA) ,
( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425646&highlight=morphgear ) here at XDA Dev.
It seems the HTC Touch Pro have the same Problem.
After few hours I solved the problem.
All you need to do is:
1.
- Go to button setting in Morph Gear.
- before click the assign button press and hold the Strg key
- then you can enter the hardware key you want
now you can play by holding Strg and the mapped keys
2-
- go to global menu in Morph Gear
- in the submenu Input: click Polling Method
now it works
But in Genppc 1.09 I still can not configure keys.
Hope this helps somebody
Sorry for my english

Strg key?
Hi Bub3d
Sorry to be a dunce but can you clarify what you mean by the "Strg key"?
Thanks
andrew-in-woking

The left key in the last row.

Better known as Ctrl to us non german keyboard users.
However, this doesnt work on my dutch pro 2.

That is the great news for me, I have looked for it for a long time. Thank you very much!!!

I'm sure there is a way to play without holding down the Ctrl (Strg) key all the time. I did it before I just don't know how I did it. Can somebody help me out?

Just remove eT9.
Button Mapping will work with all emulator and games now, like on my old Hermes.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0010409]
"Layout Text"="COMP IME"
"Ime File"="compime.dll"
Hope it helps.

Worked perfect! thanks a million. Thank god cause without multi-touch, mario is near impossible to play with the touch-screen!!!

worked for me too, thanks!

What does STRG stand for?

What were the original registry values for enabling eT9? Can someone check for me, please?

I have a sprint touch pro 2 and did the above and i still can't map keys in morph gear. Can someone post the eT9 string that i deleted so i can put it back??? Also what does deleting this do???

Not working on my Sprint Touch Pro 2 either.... any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I solved the Sprint TP2 morphgear button mapping issue. When you go to map the keys, click the little "..." to bring up the "request button to map" pop-up.
Now, click on the bottom center of the screen to bring up the keyboard. When the keyboard is up, next to that same icon is an upwards arrow. Click that and it will give you input methods. It might be on something like "Full QWERTY", but change this to "Keyboard". You should now see a virtual keyboard different from the usual one. This maps perfectly to the slide out keyboard. Use the virtual keys to do the mapping, use the slide out to play.

dont forget to set polling methot or else it wont work
srry for my english

For the record, this also works for Tilt 2 and is my preferred solution.
No need to edit registries. Also, you don't have to hold Ctrl to play nor disable eT9, which brings other problems like not being able to edit the eT9.*.txt keymapping text files.

How do you prevent the "Input Mapping" window from disappearing when you bring out the virtual keyboard? Everytime I click on the bottom center virtual keyboard button, the "Input Mapping" window disappears and then the keyboard shows up. It's like the chicken before the egg scenario!

JASJAR: For Easy Use...

another experince that i want to share. to make it easy while using the two keys and the keyboard. you can use Hot Keys for example:
at File Explorer if you want to copy file press menu key then press "i" button then press "C" button.
thats all
NiGhTmArE
Wish they had put a "ctrl" key on the keyboard though. The JASJAR is no use with Putty for controlling *nix machines without being able to do ctrl+c or ctrl+d etc.

I agree, a CTRL key would be useful. Perhaps it's possible to remap a key on the keyboard to perform the functions of CTRL? For example, I never use the caps lock key so that would be ideal. Perhaps I'll look into this, been playing with the .NET compact framework quite a lot recently.
I had a try with AEKMap but it couldn't send the correct key code.
The code for ctrl is 0011

If you could figure this out you'd be my hero. The lack of a ctrl key is bugging me.

Remapping D-Pad while on Phone screens

I've been searching for a while for a re-mapper/utility that will remap the d-pad to move around the numbers while on the Phone screen. Currently the D-pad does nothing while you're in the Phone dialing or call screen. It would make the Wiz into a great one-handed device if I can get the D-pad to move around the on-screen numbers pad. The center button can emulate pressing of the on-screen numbers. This way I can use one hand to enter the phone number and not having to use use my hands or the stylus while on-the-go.
I know I can slide out the keyboard but are you able to slide the KB out with 1 hand and use the number keys? I tried and it's VERY awkward and you'll have to remember to press the dot twice to enable the numbers. I'd rather not do that in a time of emergency.
Any one has tried to make this happen? Is there an app out there which will do this? This plus smartkeys/smallmenu will make the Wiz the ultimate one-handed device.
Anyone? am I the only one with a Wiz wishing for this function? I guess people like touching the screen with their hands more than I thought...
I would really be interested in something that could achieve this. I have my K-JAM in a PDAir case and being able to simply dial numbers with the keypad would be great. Rather than scroll through the contact list or opening the cover to access the keypad.
On Himalaya the D-pad had function in the dialer to get to call history and speed dial. That would help too.

I want that too!! Like was in my Magician...
hi all,
A cool Japanese Freeware called FakeCursor does this. It doesn't tab between fields, but emulates a Dpad controlled 'mouse'.
There is a program called AEKmap that allows you to remap the keyboard.
I have attached several layouts I made for the Phone and Calculator for use with AEKmap. (2 of the layouts work in AEKmap free mode, the other 6 require $20 activation to avoid NAG screen.)
Joeman
btw on my qtek9100 the keyboard is automatically in number mode while in the phone application. I don't need to push the blue dot twice.
I'd just as soon se a remapper that brought back the WM 2003SE phone functionality (right - Call Histtoey, left - Speed dial, etc.)
It's a shame M$ took that out in WM5
*One WM5 developer*
"I got an idea. Let's make our new phones LESS functional. That'll give us a leg up on the competition."
*Everyone else there*
"BRILLIANT!!!"
Did anyone create an aek file for mapping the alfa keys of the hardware k/b to the phonepad values.
ie: pressing a, b or c generates the code that is recognized by smartdialer (and interpreted as a, b or c respectively)
This way we can use the h/w keyboard letter-keys in the smartdialer!
This is especially handy when youre using the Wizard in your car in the landscape brodit holder (on-screen 'keys' are simply too small to be used safely)
it would be very cool.
wonder if Water can extend SmartyKeys for that - http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=41060

Is it possible to do a ~ on the Titan?

Is it possible to do a ~ on the Titan? I don't see it anywhere on the keyboards. Is it possible to get an expanded keyboard program anywhere to send that key?
Yes it possible but not easy. Hit function then tab an onscreen menu will pop up scroll down three clicks and there it is. Im posting from my mogul so ill throw one up to ~ , you get all sorts of symbols ™ € № {} § those are a few
Thanks. Anyway to map that to a key?
Diamond Keyboard
Use the diamond keyboard app. and just hold "H" and you'll get it. Much easier.
I have had problems using the tilde (~) that you get from function-symbols for our WEP key, so I usually text it to myself from a PC (verizonwireless.com). Not sure why it is different, but this method always works for me.
on a pc one can get any ascii key by holding down the alt key and typing in the ascii value
maybe it works on pda's too
also, you could hit the function key then Q for the @ symbol, immediately followed by Function then Space.

Full qwerty and CTRL + A

I am using full qwerty to input text and it is rather fast.
But sometimes I need to execute the CTRL+A combination (to select all the message texts lines for further editing/deleting/etc).
How to do it?
Thanks a lot!

HTC phones currently dont have multitouch screens.. so this kind of key combinations cannot be done
Don't have multitouch, but in "classic" keyboard (not the fine HTC one, easy to use with finger), there is a CTRL key: press it, it's selected then press A for Select All, C to cut, V to paste, ...
But it can be done only in the classic mode. The nice and big HTC input don't have a CTRL key: it's a shame!
i find using stylus to select some txt quiet convient, and to select all, do menu/edit/select all

well that's the trade off, if you want all those optional random keys, ctrl, alt, this, that. then your main keyboard won't be "nice and big" and finger friendly.
i just press-hold the screen until the pop up menu appears then select er select all

Yes it works but not in all softwares, and not in many textbox, user input field.
thanks to all of you!
I am very happy to have found the solution to replace CTRL-A: just tap and hold the screen, as some of you adviced.
One more question: how to implement CTRL C (copy) and CTRL V (paste)?
Thanks

Same as above, once you have something selected, tap'n'hold, chose cut/copy, then tap'n'hold, choose paste.
Easy
Thanks Gadge!
One more (probably silly) question: why in my kaiser I can select some messages in INBOX (to delete them for example) by simply swiping my stylus-pen and here, on Touch HH, I cannot? Is it because of implementation of touch flo?
Thanks again!

getting morphgear to work on landscape?

I was wondering if anyone can help me get morphgear to work with landscape because it doesn't seem to want to change to landscape mode when i slide my keyboard and aswell i can't change my button configs.
Landscape
I set my Morphgear always to be in landscape, you set this under the "Global setting" - click the third icon from right and select "Global setting" and set "Orientation" to east. Remember to click on the word "Orientation" and not "East".
Also for configuring the buttons i use "K for Raphael" - have you managed to configure the keyboard in a different way?
I'm very interested by this topic.
It is possible to play the game in full screen WVGA 800x480 landscape?
And to configure every built-in keyboard's buttons to play games?
Thanks for your answers!

Yes it really works When i start it it says:
"You can now map: A, S, Z, X, TAB, 1, 2, -, =, BACKSPACE, ENTER, UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT in game."
and also you can toggle the TF3D
I've configured the keys and it works good. Then when it comes to the emulation, well you have to turn of the sound on the SNES - i haven't tried any other emulator - to make it really playable. Super Mario works fine though, with sound, a bit slower than original but still works. Im haven't figured out the most optimal setting and i don't know how to tweak the whole mobile to make the gaming experience faster.
Maybe someone else has managed to make this emulator go fast on a newer HTC device.
SNES module works with some problems - crashes if you slide out the keyboard while open. Genesis module is far too buggy and requires soft reset every coupld of minutes.
Yes... it's not superstable - that's for sure. If saying it works like playing the real deal, then i would say it doesn't work. It seems like the emulators are outdated and doesn't seem to be updated for newer handsets. It would be really great if someone could pick this up and make some really nice emulator that would work with as many different phones as possible.
For me it's just fun starting it up an play a little, even if slow. It hasn't crashed totaly on my Rhodium.
If you need it for serious gaming, no it doesn't work.
Morphgear solved
To get hardware key working on morphgear first enable both input in global section.
Then go key binding in emulator section. Slide hardware keyboard on. If you have problem go down use hardware cursors. Press option for key. Press "..." and window popup. Now enable virtual keyboard and input key. Close virtual keyboard. If you get 229 code try again. Go binding next key. accept ok. Play with hardware keyboard. Tested on my HTC Touch pro 2, 2409 morphgear version.
But please found solution for hardware keyboard in dosbox.
my tp2 works fine with morphgear.... to lanscape mode change the 100% zoom to window size, change the auto driver to GDI(in global settings) , orientation North(global settings) . to config the input u have to tap your virtual keyboard first , tap "other input methods" and tap keyboard. after that u tap the button that u want to config, tap the (...), tap your virtual keyboard and tap the virtual button (q,s,e,w,a. your wish). if u do something wrong u'll stay with the number 229(229 cause u don't change the input method in your virtual keyboard). if u does the right way u'll see numbers like 89,81,72,.... cause u config your virtual keyboard right. hope it helps....
here is what i posted on another emulator forum.
I have the (telus) TP2 and have got morph gear working if you have a ctrl key there is and easier way but to get it working on my phone i downloaded KforTouchPro and morphgear start KforTP and hit switch to M$ IME then minimize then slide out my keyboard and open morphgear (i have found sliding after causes plroblems) and then im free to play (however another issue if i touch the landscape Right side of the screen if gets all screwed up but if i touch the landscape Left side of the screen it goes full screen.

there was the comment about going into global settings and changing the orientation to east that is also required
and yes KforTP works atleast on the telus model
