Unlock and hard reset - XPERIA X1 General

Hi there
I'm going to sale my X1, so I unlocked it (SFR brand locked) using sim-unlocker.com, and then performed a hard reset to erase my personal informations. Is it still unlocked or the hard reset puts it back to brand-locked? I don't have an other brand SIM to test.
Thank you

in my opinion it doesnt remove unlock... because when u change firmware lock would be present so i guess it does work other way around also but cant confirm 100% since i didnt do it myself

I re-unlocked it to be sure.
Thanks anyway

Newbie needs tutorial

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the MDA compact 3 and have a few questions im hoping someone can clear up for me. I used to have a Motorola V3 and could hack that to hell and back but this seems a lot more complicated.
I have a T-mobile UK MDA Compact 3 and im going to use www.imei-check.co.uk to unlock the sim lock and CID. Unless someone knows of software which allows me to do it myself.
When it is unlocked i want to put an O2 sim card in it but then it will be full of T-mobile crap i dont want. Is it as easy as just wipe it and install a fresh copy of windows mobile 5 on it to erase all T-mobile branding and have a HTC factory stock one similar to a home PC re-install.
Has anyone written a tutorial on how to wipe and re-install, I tried searched but couldnt find anything.
Thanks for any help you can give.
If you do not want the Tmobile crap, just hardreset the phone. During installation, soft reset the phone just after the security section (when it ask if you want to set a password). That will get rid most of the Tmobile crap and your phone will be crap free. Although you may still have the 1st Tmobile splash screen crap. As for the O2 crap that you may need, either do a search for the CAB or you can always input it manually (not that difficult) once you got all the necessary info.
Thanks for the reply.
Sorry for this question but how do I do a hard reset?
So if I do a soft reset, which im guessing is just turn it off and back on using the power button, after the security section it will not put any of the T-mobile crap on it. Does that mean that if it needs to go back and I need to restore it to how I got it, I can do another hard reset and just allow it to run right through without doing the soft reset after the security section.
Start -> Settings -> System -> Clear Storage = hardreset
yes

Will the WING stay Unlocked after Hard Resetting?

Please help,
I have an unlocked T-Mobile WING and the tap screen suddenly does not respond. After going thru the forums one option that I have is to hard reset.
Does the phone still stay unlocked after the hard reset? I went thru a lot to get it unlocked!
I also need to know what do I need to backup before the hard reset? Contacts, calender, tasks, theme, other files? Is the only way to do a backup on WING is thru Activesync on a PC?
I used to own a Blue Angel where I could back up everything on the storage card and thus restore using xBackup. Is there no similar feature with the WING?
first of all ... define "unlocked"
SIM unlock or CID unlock?
If the touch screen doesn't work, Is he OS operable? do the hardware keys work? Are you able to navigate thru the phone using the wheel and hardware keys?
Connect it to a PC and setup activesync to backup any files you need... you can explore the phone with your PC and save any files you need ... as well as backing up your contacts with activesync.
You can try doing a hard reset or running the Stock RUU
which will restore the factory ROM ... or you can try installing any other 3rd party Rom depending on what you have done to your phone regarding what you call "unlocking."
Thanks dupred, the phone is 'SIM unlocked' I use it in Africa on my local network..
Everything else works fine, all the hard keys and alternative navigation works apart from the tap screen which suddenly just stopped without any impact on the phone!
Sorry, just noticed that its duprade!
Try a hard reset ... hopefully that will fix it.
Regarding whether or not the phone will remain unlocked... I don't know, I've never SIM unlocked my phone, so I couldn't tell you... maybe someone else has the answer to this question.
sim unlock should ALWAYS stay in place no matter what phone you have. thats the nature of a sim unlock.

Unlocked Vibrant + Factory Reset?

Guys,
I just had a quick question. Does anybody know if I do a factory reset on the phone, will it erase the SIM unlock that I did already from T-Mobile? My phone is extremely sluggish and locking up. However, Iam worried that doing a factory reset will "lock" the SIM again to T-Mobile. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
You can unlock your phone as many times as needed with that code. The code is locked to your device!
It shouldn't remove the SIM unlock.
I have never tried with the Vibrant, but in me experience with about a dozen other unlocked GSM phones, a factory reset has never re-locked the phone.

Yup, same here.
unknown amount of odin's and roms 2.3 included, never a relock.
Factory reset doesn't even have access to that partition.
You should be able to factory reset with no issues. Once that unlock code is in, that phone should stay unlocked for life.
no, but I wish it does because some people with corrupted imei are having a hard time to fix it.
anyways, you'll be fine.

Hard Reset

Is there a known method to Hard Reset the phone? I don't mean a "Factory Reset" that just deletes data. I mean one the re-flashes the ROM?
I unlocked my device with an unlock code, and now, after a restart it thinks that all SIM cards, other than the original carrier's, have SIM security enabled.
It wasn't doing this initially, and insists on doing this even after a Factory Reset. So, I was wondering if a Hard Reset might get it to behave.....

I am also in a similiar situation and need a proper hard reset.I have tried using the MFG app and the LG upgrade app but without luck.
One of my LG E900 optimus 7 phones had the unlock code input 3 times wrong and now requires a PUK - Phone unlock key - odd as this is different to a sim puk which is pin unlock key.
I am hoping the upcoming wp7 update will revert it to only asking for pin, to allow me to enter the unlock code.
There is probably a registry key you could alter to bypass the security issue you/I are having but i have not discovered anything yet.
A TurboSim appears to work for me for the time being. But sadly, international roaming doesn't work with it....
Guess we'll have to wait until the first update ships.

Hard reset - cold boot
LG Hard RESET means COOLD start is on the keys....
Hold down the VOLUME + - and the camera button and turn the power button the phone ...
Phone back to factory settings
like from box
Yea. Though it looks like a hard reset doesn't work either. I believe that some change has occurred on another partition and probably, only a full rom flash will fix it. Waiting for the update....

Is it possible to reinstall android without unlocked bootloader?

Hello! From time to time I keep myself busy with smartphones. Now i've got P9 Lite with an issue that is difficult for me to fix. The first problem was about SIM lock i guess. The phone couldn't read new SIM card. My dad did a factory reset through recovery mode and here starts the real problem. I CAN'T LOG TO ANOTHER GOOGLE ACCOUNT THAN ONE BEFORE FACTORY RESET. To remove SIM lock I have to reinstall the whole system but i can't do that because bootloader is locked. I can't unlock it because i can't get into the phone and I don't own it so I have no box with IMEI numbers and so on. I'll try to contact the person who owns the phone about the google account before but I wonder maybe there's another solution? Thanks in advance.
