Wifi/GPRS?? - Wing, P4350 General

I hav GPRS enable on my phone and at my home i have a WiFi
So when i connect to the internet from my phone when i am at home it always connects using GPRS but i want to connect it through Wifi when i am at home...Is there any optio through which i can select as to how i want to connect to the internet i.e. either by GPRS or Wifi??
Plz help

disconnect your gprs connection just clikc on the Edge Icon on the top bar and then and disconnect the t-mobile data connection and then manually connect to wifi spot and it shouldnt connect through ur gprs until u want it to

If you have WiFi turned on, it'll automatically try to find a network it can connect you and notify you of the best connection. If it doesn't WiFi may not be on, you can check in the Comm Manager to make sure its on. If it is on, you can click the WiFi icon on the top bar and select your network.
The phone will automatically use Wifi instead of GPRS if WiFi is connected. If it tries to connect through GPRS it is either because WiFi is disabled or WiFi isn't connected to a network.

Why my Wi-Fi and GPRS connect the same time

Pls help. It drive me nut.
I'm at home connect to (WI-FI) when i connect to internet the GPRS connection was active also. If i disconnect the GPRS the WI-FI still active but when i switch the web site page the GPRS re-connect back again.
How this happen??? only want use connection one of a time. If wifi available then GPRS inactive and otherway around if wifi inactive then GPRS active.
I have no proof of this, so it's just an assumption. I believe that the GPRS connection may be live but not actually in use. Both icons show up when I use WIFI too. I wouldn't pay too much attention to it. If you don't have a data package and want to avoid ever connection to GPRS or even temporarily block it, you can go under connections, connections, advanced, and set both to my work network. If you want to use it again, then set the second one to medianet or whatever your GPRS profile is named.

WAP instead of WIFI

The apps on my x1 keep trying to connect via GPRS when there is a WIFI signal available. How do i make all applications use wifi when available and only use GPRS when there is no WIFI?
thanks
I just go to settings->connection->connection-advanced select network
and pick my homenetwork rather then my isp in the dropdownbox
I've tried that, although I don't get home network, its work network . But the problem is that if there's no wifi, it doesn't connect via GPRS/HSPA. Is there anyway to make it connect via WIFI if available and by GPRS if NOT?
Thank you for your reply

The WIFI without the GPRS (3g)

Hello,
I need some help about my htc hd.
I want to ensure that, then i connected to internet via WIFI, my GPRS (3g) is not connected.
How can i disable the 3g GPRS connection, and enable WIFI only
Thanks a lot!!!
No Data will allow you to stop data connection.
so now if i closed my Orange network, the WIFI should work?
It is still doesnt work, do you have any idea how to configure it?

Click to collapse
Course it will there seperate
All you do is block Orange connection when you want and unblock when needed
This program doesn't help me , because even i close it the GPRS still work.
But than i take the SIM from the phone, or turn off the phone feature, the internet connection is unavailable.
I think that all problem that was in some topics about the WIFI speed , is because of they used the GPRS internet and not the WIFI.
So , there some more complexive problem with internet WIFI in HTC HD.
Just try to take out the SIM and than surf in internet with WIFI? There is no way!!!!!
the connection icons on the top of the screen clearly show which data connection is active
the manual describe the meaning of all the top screen icons
settings->connections->connections->advanced-select network
pick my home network or whatever the non isp connection is named on your phone
and all data connections when there is no wifi or activesync connections to get free network from will fail with an error == you will never get a grps connection again
before you turn it back to my isp or what it's named on your device

WiFi Issues

So I have WiFi setup at work and it seems to be working, albeit slow but working.
When I plug the phone into the laptop via USB to charge the phone, the wireless connection is no longer available.(START>SETTINGS>CONNECTIONS>WIFI)
However when I unplug the X2 from the micro USB, the icon comes back and I have a wireless connection.
Is there a setting that I need to adjust for USB connection?
Another question:
Before i connect to WiFi I see the E at the top right of the phone. When I connect to WiFi the E is replaced by the WiFi icon. So I am assuming that my E (EDGE) connection is NOT being used at all when WiFi is on?
In other words, when I am using WiFi, is the internet service from my cellular provider, T-Mobil, completely disconnected? And then when I disconnect from WiFi does the phone internet service go back on to T-Mobil?
Thanks,
xwing
For WIfi + USB, i will test it for you tonight at home,
As for Edge and Wifi, yes, when you are connected to wifi, your cellular data connection is not used anymore for internet connection (and actually why do you need it?) However if you connect your phone via USB and allow to use the internet connection from it, your data connection from your Cellular still active. It allows to differentiate the 2 active sync connections, as each connection has its own properties for which items to be synced. so i wonder why Wifi and USB is not...
So now I have had the device for over a week and find that after a while, 2-4 hrs or longer, the WiFi just does not work. I go to settings>connections> WiFi and I am told to enable WiFi on my device. Then there is a list of about 10 different connections to choose from.
The only way to connect to my WiFi is to turn off the phone and back on (waiting at least 2 min) for the phone to load up.
Any suggestions?

Advanced WiFi settings

Can someone please school me on how the Advanced WiFi settings options work?
WiFi signal weak - Does this literally "Turn Off" WiFi on my phone when the signal is weak? Or just disconnect from the network it's connected to and keep searching for other networks?
Internet unavailable - Same thing... does this disconnect from the network or totally "Turn Off" my wifi when internet is unavailable? What is internet unavailable btw?
Just disconnects the current Wifi network....
Any wifi device can connect to a network whether it has access to the internet or not. If there is No access to the internet on the network the phone is connected to it will disconnect from that network.
