SMS Notification (in Sleep mode) - myTouch 3G, Magic General

When the phone is in "sleep" mode, there is no indication that you have a new SMS or Email.
Is there an application which anyone has used which can enable this?

Are you sure the trackball doesn't light up? And the LED bear there speaking bit flashes? And can't you set it to make a noise or vibrate?
(I don't actually own a Magic, just from what I've seen in videos)

For sms notification; use this fix:
Code:
adb remount
adb shell cp system/app/Mms.apk sdcard/
adb push your_Mms.apk_direction system/app/
Download:

This one fix my issue; it is from here: Point 9

No Sound for incoming SMS, No PopUp, Nothing | PLEASE HELP!!

Hello!
I did a Hard-Reset, since some things weren't working fine.
After having finished the installation, I recognized that there is
NO SOUND
NO POPUP
NO BLINKING OF LED
NO VIBRATION
when I receive a SMS.
I don't know, what I can do to "repair".
PLEASE HELP!!
have you tried
Start>Settings>Sounds & Notifications>Notifications>Event: Messaging: New Text Message
...of course I tried this.
Any other ideas?
Did you by any chance hide the ActiveSync (POP3) folder in your messaging application by editing your registry? I suppose the chances you did are quite small... Then again, it never hurts to ask.
First of all, are you getting other notifications? I.e. incoming call, etc?
What has worked for me when this has happened is to go to sounds/notification and select the sound to use when a new text message is received, then select the play button beside it to play a demo of the audio. For some reason, it seems like that helps my device to register the wake up action to take when a new call is received.
Hope this helps!
@Eggy
Yes, I removed the ActiveSync-account and the Hotmail-account in the registry.
Is there a connection between removing these accounts and hearing no sms-notifications?
@lulugirl896
For an incoming call it works fine.
I also played the sound in the options (like you wrote) but nothing changes.

Try returning the ActiveSync key the way it was. The Hotmail one shouldn't make a difference.

Could you write the structure of the registry-keys, since I don't know the old state... ?

I can not receive anything via bluetooth.

Hello personnel, I am not achieving anything receive via bluetooth. Already activated "receive all incoming beams" the function, pointed out already seen by all, and nothing. When I try to get the following message appears "impossible connect."
We can send normal.
I am using the original rom, it would need a change in the registry?

hi there,
receive all incoming beam is for infrared!
go to command manager and start bluetooth there. (a blue led shoul blink if on)
then in command manager menu go to bluetooth settings an turn things like "make this device visible to others" or something like that on. also check the ftp thingies then it should work.
if u need more info check the manual

Disable screen wake up on new SMS?

How do I disable screen wake up on new SMS?
Mine gets totally woken up when new SMS comes and if I let it sit inside my pocket for a while (when I can't check sms right away), a few programs are launched and sometimes I am calling someone.
I think the screen gets "touched" while inside the pocket and screen woken up by new sms (fine when sitting on the table with unchecked new sms).
Is there a way to disable this?
I want new SMS to come, vibrate or alert by sound BUT no screen wake up.
I did try searching but I think my search methods aren't that great.
Thanks.
Use xperia tweak
I read it somewhere that if I use xperia tweak and disable screen wake up at new sms, I will get those "new" messages when I wake up the phone.
Meaning, I won't get notified in any way untill I wake the phone up.
Can you please verify this?

Thanks for the link.
It works
For anyone who might have trouble with this issue, I'll add the info.
add in the below line into the registry location :
[HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:1
BTW, I installed Xperia Tweak but I get an error.
I have advanced config installed. would this be the problem?
Make sure you are using right version (depending on your FW):

Notifications

Hi all,
I've looked through both this board and the one for the G1 but can't find answer yet, which surprised me. Anyway, quick question.
I want to use an mp3 for my sms tone/notification! This should be easy but HTC seem to have made it difficult again. I know on old phones like the touch you had to put the file on the phone, in the sounds folder in system directory. Then you could pick it from standard list. Painful, but not a problem.
Unfortunately on my magic, I am unable to copy the file into the standard notifications folder as (when looked at using filedroid) the folder is shown as write only.
Thought I'd be able to remove the write only by plugging into computer, but that only seems to give me access to the sd card.
I have downloaded some applications that manage it, but it's all a bit of a faf. Is there a way to put it somewhere, or get phone to look at folder on sd card?
Bit long winded, sorry.
Thanks for any help.
Steve
Create a folder on your sdcard called "notifications" - any mp3s in there should then show up for selection.
Likewise "alarms" for custom alarm tones and "ringtones" for custom ringtones.
Nope. Tried that to no avail. It's really weird. I have since found an application called Rings Extended that seems to manage it without any real messing around. So I guess I will just have to carry on using that for now.
Sorry Codemonkey, please scratch my last comment. Although the rings extended works well, you appear to be correct in your response. Unfortunately I didn't realise the need to reboot the phone after creating the folder, and after each subsequent addition of tracks/sounds etc. It only seems to update when phone turns back on.
Thanks for your response.
As you've been so helpful, I wonder if you can help out on something else.
I now have my notifications set up the way I want, with the exception of email. At present it puts a notification icon up, which is fine and dandy. But it also sends out a noise, seemingly the same notification used for SMS. Is there a way to disable the noise, just for email?

For both GMail and e-mail when in the app press Menu -> Select ringtone -> Silent
Why thank you very much. You are a treasure.

Helpful people, please help again. The email notification (now thankfully silent) is set to show in the status bar.....perfect. But....it also flashes the LED, can I turn off the flashing just for email. I like having the visual status bar, so when I have unread email I know it, but as emails are always popping in, the phone is nearly always constantly flashing. Really annoying. I don't mind it flashing for SMS, but sometimes you just want to ignore email
I know it can be done on th Hero. Thanks in advance.

SPB Shell Issue with SMS icon on today's screen

Hi:
I bought a XPeria X2 device short time ago and... well. I was expecting more than that but thanks to this forum I have been able to improve its looks and usability. My problem now is (I don't know how neither why) the icon on spb shell today's screen shows that I have one unreading SMS but that's not true, and I don't know how to reset the counter. I tried to re-install SPB Shell again but it didn't work.
Another weird thing is that I cannot see Game's folder accessing trough Start Menu (Windows button) but I can see and browse it if I do that going from SPB Shell Launcher button
Could anybody help me?.
Thank you to all in advance
LoKatEs
abouth the sms indicator. when you get an sms and you dont actualy go to application TEXT to se it, you just read the notification witch also includes the content of the sms. it doesnt qualify as reading the sms. you need to do to START\TEXT and click the sms you receaved. then it is marked as already read ant the sms indicator should be empty.
abouth the desapearing games folder don know what could couse it.
hope it helps.
I had the same issue. Every time one particular person sent me an MMS, Mobile Shell saw it as two unread, and reading it would only count for one of them.
The solution for me was to send myself an MMS. Don't ask me what's going on there. Sounds like SPB's database can get a little corrupt.
is this happening in threaded view? i have noticed this as well.
the only way i have been able to fix it is by changing to non threaded view and then changing back and the notification disappears!
I SENT MMS to myself too and i solved problem.

Anid,
I tried your method of changing from threaded view to non threaded then back again, but it doesn't work. Will this bug be fixed or dissapear when using non threaded view?
Lastly i sent myself an MMS, hopefully it doesn't pop up again
Anyone else have a permanent fix to this?
My X2 has the lastest R3 update
