Wrong temperature reported - P3600 General

Hi,
I think their is a probleme with the temperature driver.
I have seen the value go from 44°C (when cold and just start on a 22°C piece) to 28°C ( when doing heavy data download and feel the phone really warm in my hand).
Anybody have the same thing ?
PS : i use powerguard and wmwifirouter for checking the temperature

My HTC Magician freezes when cold

I have a SPV M500 for a while, and now, when it coulder outside the phone simply locks afther a while. The green led keeps blinking but a can't receive calls, if a reminder is set, it dousent react, and the only solution to revive the phone is a fost reset (or to remove the battery cover a few time). Does anyone experience this problem? Is it normal that a 15-18 C temperature to freeze these phone model? Does anyone knows a solution? I have the last BigStore ROMs installed, could it be a software prob?
That behaviour may happen in subzero, but it should never happen within the 10 degree range! Batteries tend to be the component most sensitive to the cold, so I suggest trying another battery. Or for now, try conditioning the battery to increase the chemical activity in it - this may help its resistance to the cold, in addition to possibly extending its battery life. Conditioning the battery is basically letting the battery drop to near zero with intense usage (like looping a video or heavy gaming) before charging it, charging it to full and letting it drop to zero again through intense usage - this cycle may have to repeated 2 to 3 times to get results.
WOW it must be cold where you are.
HI,
I use my XDA to do count stock in frigdes that are 0 to -16 degrees and i have had no problems?
Maybe its because im only in the fridge for a few minutes. But i count everyday and i have no problems.
I'm pointing to a software prob too. I have those 'it wont turn back on' things (hot or cold) happen and the only way to fix it is with a soft reset.
Maybe cleaning the contacts of the battery would help.
I really dont think to be a software problem, cause it's happening evena after a couple of hard resets, and with the latest original rom for the model. I tryed even to empty and recharce a couple of times the internal battery, thinking that im might need "formating" due to usure. Ive bought an extra battery of 1300mAh, but all is the same. I-ve installed a prog callet Batti, that shows the battery pover and alo the temperature of the external battery, but it shows a 2.5-2.8 C INDOORE, IN MY HAND, where it sould be around 25-28 C.
I observed that the phoone freezes when the batti shows 2.1-2.2 C (i think 21-22 C). Can someone try this program (it's free) to see what temperature its showing?
Tx
Can someone please use a temperature reading software, to see at what temperature works usualy the phone. I'm using Batti, that shows 2.4-2.6 C when it should show 24-26C. Tx.

Phone gets hot during 3G use

When I use my Nike for more than 2 minutes while browsing the web using my 3G connection it gets quite hot on the lower part of the backside (isn't this the area with the cpu/chipset?). Although I have not measured the exact temperature it gets well over 40 degrees celsius on the outside already.
I also notice a lot of battery usage but that might also be because of the screen being on all the time, though the chipset might be sucking away a lot of battery power as well, judging from the heat dissipation.
Is this behaviour normal or should I go and have it checked/repaired?
It's normal. Mine's the same.
I got a new Niki after my old was damaged, none of them gets hot.
As far as I know this could be caused by a wrong Radio Version. Did you flash the Niki with another Radio Version than shipped?
High battery usage could be caused by some tools (e.g. S2U2)
Nope, the phone is running a HTC original WM6.1. The phone isn't even hardspl-unlocked
The windows installation itself is pretty clean: no special tools except total commander, opera and tomtom, of which none are running.
You state that it does not get hot. Does it get warm though, or really nothing special? Are you using GPRS(2G) or UMTS/HSDPA(3/3.5G)?
Yes, I'm using 3G. My phone is only a bit warm when connection to PC and flashing/trying ROMs (> charging & lots of CPU usage)
Mine heats up when using the data connection as well. I've got the standard radio rom.
This is a well known issue in NIKI, don't worry (except if the temperature is too hot); but i have tried many radios and it gets hot when you use HSPDA.
this is because when you connect it to usb it also charges the battery which the connection for the battery and i believe the processor are at the same board. It usually gets hot where the sim is located under the battery. if you use the phone alot to call also it will get hot. i don't think it's an issue i think it does that because of the location of the processor..... Yes i did open my phone

Legend Heating Up issue

Hi all,
With continuous use (even 15-20 mins of web browsing) the phone is warming up. The temperature goes as high as 40-42 deg C.
Has any one encountered the same problem?
It gets very irritating that with slight use the device is heating up.
Yes same problem. Maybe due to metal case.
If you read the manual you will see it's clearly stipulated that when the phone is charging or in use for extended periods of time it heats up. Perfectly normal !
Also the heat will dissipate through the aluminum case, which is why the phone feels hot. I have an iPhone 2G and it doe the same thing. Nothing to worry about .

Battery temperature

Hi !
Since I'm using Android my phone is getting hot after 5-10 mins of intensive use ( playing with the market, internet, youtube, twitter ... ). The temperature is about 37°c and when I'm playing games like Nova, my phone is getting close to 45°c. I don't think it could damage my phone, just want to know if it's "normal" temperature.
So, anyone know what maximum temperature the phone can handle ?
Thanks !

I've had the same experience. The trick that worked for me was installing SetCPU, mentioned in other threads in this forum. Using default values, i was able to keep temperature down at about 30 degrees celsius. It also increased battery time significantly. In SetCPU you are able to define profiles, activating defined CPU scaling settings when specified conditions are met, e.g. when temperature is above a specified level. I couldn't get this to work properly, maybe due to the DisablePowerManagement settings in my ChuckyDroid ROM registry. But, with default settings in SetCPU, you should be ok.

Battery temp falsely ? reporting high temp (67°C) and auto-shutdown

My Phone was very often shutting down by itself and I had to wait before it would reboot like if there was some overheating.
I installed Battery temperature monitor/CPU apps and they are reporting 67°C for the battery (CPU is ok at 37°C).
the battery is cold at touch and measurement were done after a very long shutdown time.
Can anyone confirm if changing the battery will fix the problem ? is the temp sensor integrated into the battery ?
Thanks !
