need help about touch cruise 09 performance.. - Touch Cruise 2 General

hi, i have decided, im either buying a touch cruise or touch cruise 2.
there is about a 120$ difference in price, but its not important.
what matters most is the performance..
touch cruise surly has better performance than diamond.. no big lags.
but did anybody try the the touch cruise 09 to comment about performance?!!
is it better than the cruise 1 and the diamond?
please help me fast..

Hello, depends on what you mean by "performance". As for the speed/response times, I'm pretty sure new cruise is little faster than the Polaris - it has faster CPU, more RAM... Maybe these SPB Benchmark results (czech review) might be interesting for you. As for the Diamond, it is slower mainly because of the demanding VGA display and TouchFlo3D, otherwise it's not that bad device.
Although the Polaris was impressive phone when introduced (Dec 2007) and Iolite lacks some of it's features (FM radio, front camera), personally I wouldn't (and didn't ) go into Polaris these days as long as the price is not the only important parameter.

thnx for ur opinion..
by performance i mean how fast the device opens applications, (i use it mostly for my medical programs like those on skyscape) and responsivness..
money is not an issue..
the country im in doesnt support video call!!! and i hate music!!!
so fm radio and another camera are useless to me, but so is gps...
so if the new cruise opens applications faster, then its the way im going..
anybody can confirm that..

HTC Touch Dual -Will original Touch owners feel the love?

Okay the new virtual keyboard, contacts app, photos app, home screen and gestures all look great with the Touch Dual, but will original touch owners be able to enjoy this by way of an update? Ive heard nothing. Im a bit pissed actually, I know technology moves fast but the Touch is only 4 months or so old, its still a relatively new device and I feel HTC sold me half a product.
have a look
As quoted on techtree.com
After a successul release in Japan, HTC now plans to officially launch the Touch Dual mobile phone for Europe. The Touch Dual measures 107x55x15.8-mm and weighs 120-grams. It supports WCDMA/HSDPA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access/High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) 2100MHz and GSM/EDGE 900/1800/1900MHz networks. It also features the TouchFLO interface over Windows Mobile 6 Professional and a 2.6" QVGA touch-screen and is powered by a 400MHz Qualcomm MSM7200 processor. It comes with 256MB flash, 128MB RAM, and microSD expansion; Bluetooth 2.0+EDR; 802.11b/g WiFi; HTC ExtUSB (HTC's mini USB 2.0 jack with support for data and audio); and a battery to keep you talking for upto 240 mins on WCDMA and upto 360 minutes on GSM frequencies.

doubtful,.. but hope dies last!
There will be an update for the keyboard.. that's sure ! but for the rest we will see... it seems possible to have everything "software" if the rom are quite the same.. but we can't say this without the touch dual roms.
HTC promises the keyboard for the touch .... but for the rest.. nothing is said yet.
Ofcourse they aint gonna give that to us. They want you to buy the 'new and better' Touch. They already have your money, but they want mmmoooOOORE!
*ahwem*
Anyway, there might be a chance we get it for the Touch. And otherwise I'm sure someone will be able to get it from the Touch Dual .
But looking at how succesful the Touch is in sales, this is the moment for HTC to show how they are in the after sales.
Coming from the s100 and s200 I'm not too confident in all this though, but we'll see!
some of the new features for the dual is surely plus for me. i don't like the smaller screen and bulkiness of the unit compared to the touch. but who knows, when i see it personally on shops, i might get one also to play with.
i think pdaviet or another developer will include this functions to their roms for prophet and old htc touchs.
No wifi
I dont think we will want to wait for HTC to release an update for these features. This sounds like a job for.... someone else. I bet a developer will write a app that will implement these features. Touch Dual looks great, I like the direction HTC is going but not giving this device Wlan is really lame. It's also being released as the O2 XDA Star, but quadband.
No wifi? As far as I can see wifi is one of the features....in previous specs I've seen GPS - which is missing now - which would be for me the only reason to swich
GPS
Do you think GPS is on board, but disabled???

one of the things that made me switch to Htc Touch was wifi. Since the HTC Slide doesnt have wifi, then i dont think its worth the change
The lack of wifi let me down too.
I've been waiting for the new touch with 3.5G, but no wifi is a big no no for me. Let's see if they update the software on the original touch, if they do, I'll buy one, if they don't, I won't buy any of them, I'll just wait. Form factor wise, I think the original touch is cooler
Yep, my ideal phone (at the minute) would be the Touch, but with built-in GPS, a faster processor and larger storage. But processor and storage don't bother me too much (overclocked and a 6GB memory card) so only issue is the lack of built-in GPS - means I have to use a separate bluetooth GPS, which is rather inconvenient at times
David
400mhz
400mhz is awfully fast. the touch is 201, i think most people can get it running close to 300 with overclocking but that just means the new one is gonna scream, nothing better than streaming porn to classmates and coworkers via bluetooth!
seriously though, the tech upgrades alone might be worth picking one up, espcially considering it will probably have the same customization options our touches have now.
i just love my touch and wouldn want any other phone now! it just has everything and i like the fact that the only keys are the ones to make calls...
i dont mine useing the touchkeyboard and the 201MHr are enough i think...
gps doesnt bother me neither... only people with a bad sence of orentation need pgs
Hi
Does anyone know on what network the touch dual is going to be released in the uk?
Is it going to be available on t-mobile? If so when?
Thanx
Nik
hey guys !
watch this rewiew of the htc touch dual
http://smape.com/en/reviews/htc/HTC_Touch_Dual-rev.html
wow i just read the review, it seems the old Touch is better at quite a number for stuff especially graphics and many multimedia.
With the higher price, minus Wifi, and smaller screem, we (with the old touch) shouldnt feel too bad guys

P3600i or Tytn 2

Hello. I've been following the Kaiser thread ever since I heard about it, and with the same anxiety of the owners of that phone i've been waiting for the miraculous drivers to appear. I'm looking forward to upgrade from a HP hx2750, to a new pda with phone. After a few research I concluded that the pdas the fit my need are the HTC p3600 (trinity), p3600i (500Mhz processor version) , the Tytn 2 Kaiser or the coming Eten X800 and the I-mate 8502 which in my option is the best off all those but I doubt it will be available sooner than April 2008.
From all those the p3600i and tytn 2 seemed more appealing. So I have to pick between the p3600i (since i'd rather have more ROM and processor speed though paying a bit more) or the kaiser, tytn 2.
I like to play videos, take pictures and once in awhile play a few games, but also have a decent scrolling and browsing speed since I'm used to the hx2750 wm6, BUT, i'm not sure if the drivers will ever be made or work properly... in other words I wouldn't like to have a crippled phone as expensive as that kaiser(not getting contract!). The p3600i looks great is not so buggy but doesn't have keyboard and this is something I always missed in the hx2750. Neither I know if the keyboard in the end is really that useful cause it looks very hard to type in...
I heard better things from htc in past times but now they don't seem to care for consumers opinion, so that's another question. I dunno if it's better to get the kaiser and wait for drivers or get something more solid. I heard new windows 6.1 will come out soon, so might be a help or push to fix problem. I prefer more the kaiser but the p3600i is impressive too...
So i'm here asking for whoever wants to share its opinion... What's the best buy p3600i or tytn2 (kaiser, tilt)?
Is htc giving up the kaiser for real?(no more drivers, no more production of that model? And does the p3600i as any issue too?
P.S:I really refer to the p3600i not the updated p3600(trinity)
Heavy s**t
My penn'orth:
The TyTyn 2 is SOOOOO heavy and bulky. although the 3MP camera is nice, the keyboard is not really that useful as it's fiddly to use and the bulky size and weight for me do not justify the tilt / keyboard.
For it's size I'd say go with the 3600i.
It may be useful in terms of getting responses - to specify which driver issue you are talking about - I'm not sure myself!
I would like to add that you should keep in mind that the P3600i is still relatively new and that if you plan to immediately flash the ROM to your favourite cooked TouchFlo variety you will be unable to do so for a while so you'll have to stick with the original stuff for now. Apart from that I would say that a big part of your decision-making considerations would be the hardware keyboard and how important having one means to you - to be honest I hardly use them. Additionally, I HATE to feel the looseness/play created by the moving parts, and I like a solid phone with only buttons - no flips, slides or twists. Another consideration is battery life - not sure exactly how they compare, but I have a feeling there is not much difference between the two (keeping in mind that the P3600i has a faster processor than the Kaiser). I am not sure how the cameras compare either, but the Kaiser should indeed produce better results, though I will say that the P3600/P3600i's photos are not that bad either. Another factor, presumably, is the cost. I am about to buy a P3600i today and it's running me USD$599 - the TyTN II is USD$750. For me it's the P3600i, but of course, the choice is yours. You have to look at all the differences between the two phones (read as many reviews as you can) and the environment you will be using the phone in and the type of usage you will demand from it to fine-tune and make the best decision for yourself.
I had to make the same decision and ended up with the p3600. For two reasons:
1st: The P3600 comes with almost the same functionality, like wifi, gps, hsdpa/umts and so on - but is cheaper and smaller. Besides that the P3600 has no performanceproblems with applications or videoplayback.
2nd: I dont do any SMS-texting, neither do I write any e-mails from the phone. So the keyboard wasnt too important to me. Since there are some nice programs for fingerfriendly onscreen keyboards, I can type small texts without any difficulty and quite fast.
You definitely get more for your money with the p3600 ... which is useless if you need to write 20 emails a day on your phone ...
The drivers issue I made reference to (Htc tytn 2) problem is the fact it has a video performance worst than earlier models, it's slow and paused when scrolling, can't play games with proper frame rates. This is blamed in the lack video drivers... the tytn 2 or kaiser thread is filled with users seeking a solution to that.
The p3600i is a beautiful device but I don't know till when the 64MB memory will be a issue, and the kaiser offers 128Mb...
I don't really mind not having a cooked rom as long as the new one isn't that bad or buggy. About the touchflo I don't know really what is and how useful is but I suppose is something like finger scrolling... don't think is useful in such small screens... ^^
My hx2750 screen is almost as big as the p3600! I compared them side by side!
Does anyone knows if any htc device will be updated to wm6.1?
Thanks for all opinions...

what to buy now as hermes is dead

As my hermes is broken now I am need for a new phone.
Things is care for: WM6 os, touch screen, in built gps, bluetooth, microsd slot and lightweight body
Things I don't care: keyboard, 3G etc
What do u guys suggest? Sony Xperia looks good but has a keyboard. I can live with it but prefer not to have it in order to reduce the bulk. HTC touch?
Any other suggestions?

I love my Kaiser... Its like a Hermes on steroids. Lots of ram and storage space. I know you don't care about 3G, or a keyboard, but I still think you should at least look at it.

People complain a lot about missing video driver and sluggish response on kaiser when refreshing screen or using video, gps etc....Did u notice any of those? I really don't care about video or camera in the phone. It will not be major issue with me.
One more thing - Kaiser is 20 gm heavier than hermes. If i get touch cruise then it will be 60 gm lighter than kaiser. Touch cruise also has the same missing video driver problme.
I never used keyboard on my hermes so I think I should get something without keyboard to slash some weight off my pocket.
How about Eten or atom devices like x800 etc. Are they as good as HTC performance wise?

I haven't had any big issues with the video drivers, but my old PDA phone was quite old and slow (HP iPAQ hw6515). Especially with the new ROM that att just released last week the menu response is really fast, and the video is better, but like I said it still was far better than my old device. I run TomTom Navigator 6 on my Tilt, and have had no problems with video issues. I don't do stuff like YouTube though, so I can't comment on that.
I was just suggesting that it should be something to consider...

Trinity vs Polaris

Hi All,
Right now i'm having Jamin/Prophet.
I want to replace it to Trinity or Polaris (Touch Cruise).
Who is the better one ?
It's almost the same price ~700$
Thanks,
Chen
Why not waiting for HTC Diamond? You will get the latest WM 6.1 plus the new touchflo UI
http://www.htc.com/europe/product.aspx?id=46638
Diamond?
Ammm. what about the price? any good reviews ?
http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx?id=46286
The price is around 580 euro, listed at Expansys.
Delivery is scheduled to 14th July.
One review is in the video I posted above...

I have the HTC trinity but i dont like it its big slow and the paint lets go of the body no mini jack fora headset so in my opinion you will be beter of searching for a other phone.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion, I guess!
and all new htc devices have extUSB rather then minijack so people always need to get a converter nomatter what htc phone they get or better yet use bluetooth stereo headset
I'm in the same position. I have a Blueangel and a Wizard and I'm thinking about a Trinity or a Polaris to keep the company. Is the Polaris much faster than the Trinity? How do they compare, sizewise?
To get back to the issue.
Polaris has two major minuses compared to Trinity: no video acceleration (as in ImageOn) and bad speaker.
I own a Trinity and my colleague owns a Polaris, so I know both models. I'd go for the Trinity!
So, just to make it clear, the Polaris is much slower than Trinity!
Much slower ? Ahmmm.
So, i got two options :
1. Buy the P3600i version - with the 256mb and 500Mhz cpu
2. Buy the new HTC , but then i need to wait and see if that device will have problems...
Ahmm.. -)

Remember, you can't flash to the P3600i yet so you will be stuck with stock ROM.
P3600 is the one that can be flashed.
for me.. i will go for diamond, or wait a little longer.. to see if there are any problem ..

"The Polaris is much slower than Trinity!" ???
Why? Because one CPU is Qualcom and the other is Samsung? Both are 400Mhz!
Even with double memory capacity?
Please enlight me, tnyynt

Don't know why, really!
I just happen to see the difference every day when I compare the two. Trinity is up to sometimes 50% faster.
Not to mention graphics which absolutely lacks on Polaris!

Near to buy a Blackstone

I notice that the difference between the HTC Touch PRO 2 and the Blackstone is related to the keyboard. Same cpu speed, same memory. I'd like to know if the touchFLO 3d is the last one, the one installed on the diamond 2; if it's upgradable. I'd like to know if it's better for me to wait something new from HTC or if i buy a great product.
Thaks for suggestion. I did it.
