Official YouTube for WM not working on Uni? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi guys
I don't know it's just me or.... after I installed the official Youtube app for windows mobile on my uni, it plays only a tiny bit then stuck on connecting, buffering, or even cause the whole unit to froze so i have to do a hard reset.
I also have a HTC tytn (hermes/cingular 8525). i did the same thing and it ran flawlessly!
I thought it couldn't be the hardware since Uni actually has a faster CPU then Hermes. So it should only play it smoother.
My assumption is something to do with the settings etc. Anyone has any input on this?
By the way my uni is Qtek9000 with ROM cooked by TOMAL WM6.1
to download the official youtube app, go to m.youtube.com/app on you mobile.
thanx

I would like to know the answer to this
In all my years with my Uni I never saw a youtube video
And believe me tested several methods.....I think....at least menneyssis bible ones...
Hope someone with more knowledge can make a thread for making youtube work on Universal.

surprise~ I just flashed the all new ROM of TOMAL V8.81 and I found the bundled IE browser can play youtube video directly! What a dream come true! (Many thanks to Tomal).
on a side note, I have tried the official youtube mobile application again on the new ROM (v8.81 TML). It's still not working. This time it directly gave me the error "Connection Error: Initialization failed so you cannot search or play videos" some like that.
Anyone has further input on this is appreciated, but hey, talking about being greedy here

Yes it´s true I´m using 8.81 too and works great.
I forgot to say that I use Opera mobile and in it I can´t watch youtube

Pvplayer for Pocket PC

I am looking for the latest version of Packet Video player for Pocket PC. This soft is installed on the SPV M5000 and enables you to watch Live TV.
Could somebody put the full program on a FTP or extact it from its M5000.
Thanks in advance !
I have a M5000, how do you watch TV from Orange with PVPlayer? I was under the assumption that this was only available on some Nokia phones.
Hello. I too am desperately needing the packet video player compatible with SPVM5000 Qtek9000 for the Orange Network. Could someone share it with us in any english or french version. After installing it i will be in a position to help you using live tv on the network as i is indeed 100% compatible. Awaiting the file, i remain.
Brgds, Arnaud.

thanks anyway for this, am i affraid so, not that useful answer. i used the search engine and browsed through the 18th first pages resulting from the search. this took me ages and was fruitless. What could have beeb useful would have been t o post your own PVcab to the ftp or somewhere and allow anybody to download it and take advantage of mpeg4 packetvideo formatted video or direct tv streams.
Thanks anyway for botehring to answer me.
I just hope someone shows more mercy.

Great piece of Software !
The only descent Youtube client for WM6, able to download directly from Youtube in high qual.
Works perfect on my HTC Touch Dual
try using v-Tap. they make a cab for ppc, and it downloads youtube and myspace videos. and it seems a lot faster than any other youtube playing app.
vtap
vtap is better then you tube app.vtap is searching as you type into search engine.

I tried this application on my Touch Cruise, but Opera is getting too slow to work with, infact, it will crash and have to soft reset.

LooL.... Be carfull of PornTube.... I have heard its a trojan site that requires you to download a file and run it, in order to play its nookie movies !
Nogs
BTW does the Touch HD come with flash lite 2.x?
If so, do you have to remove that first before installing flash lite 3.1?
Nothing to remove... Just install flash 3.1 on your device and it goes!
Put it on and took it straight back off again.
Works on Youtube - just about - but not on iPlayer or anything much else I tried for that matter. On Youtube it's choppy and imapcts the interface. I also had my SIP pop up everytime I tried to zoom or pan the page. I may have seen a fix for that somewhere in the Forums but frankly can't be bothered as it's not that much worth having as it stands.
I appreciate this is close to cutting edge stuff but it's taking an age to get this sorted for Opera.
there is a mobile browser thats called skyfire which claims can play embedded flash content.its still a beta version but available for download for testing and evaluation.can someone have a try at this please.i can't get it running on my ipaq 614(always searching for data connection)maybe on htc hd it will have better luck

tried it, its not compatible with the screen resolution, I was using this on my Kaiser and its by far the best browser I've tried. It does indeed play embedded flash content
My only disappointment of the HD so far, lets hope its updated soon.

i shall from now on,bombard those skyfire developers on their website with requests to make it compatible with the touch hd ha ha..yeah hopefully there will be an update soon
The thing is that this flashlite version is just a leaked version of the original adobe one, which is still not released yet. we will have to waot a bit until they release the real verion which should then work without a prob
Sorry but to get this straight, are you saying that if I install this on a touch HD, its Opera will no only be able to support flash, but in terms of hitting a you tube video link, it will play in the stand alone you tube client a'la safari and iphone?

it means that youtube and other java based things will work like on your pc. so the youtube videos would run in the youtubepage without the need of opening the youtube application, even java games and more should work. but ofcourse, you can always watch youtube videos with the applicatiuon if you like.

Hi Nick,
I'm guessing you are using the bundled Opera 9.7 to browse these sites?
If so, the Flash 3.1 for Opera (I got it from the X1 forum) seems to work for a lot of the sites on my HD2, but there again, I use Skyfire now anyway.
