Now that was week, mvp84. Now you own the first post ( THE INDEX ONE ) in a topic that you don't seem to handle by far. (you now have 11 posts in all of xda and counting) Are you going to index and tide up here? Are you going to handle the thousands visiting here? And .. why havent you done the first skin? Because you can't? How are you supposed to help the thousands of visitors then? Only fair questions here. Step up or step down....

That really isnt the type of contribution that we need here either. I made about 50+ posts before i ever made a real contribution, let alone went almost a year before ever making a first post. So do not judge someone by post count or what you feel is useful or not. Half of the good things that come from us here at XDA is just in ideas that lead to great things.
So i say bring on the shell 3 themes!

It might not be right what he did, i'm not here to judge but it is really the time to talk about it. Since the default skin is not very impressive maybe some skiners are willing to start building some. I want to install the new version but thats not going to happen as long as the only skin out there is the default one. Besides the functionality i want my phone to look good as well.
here is my contribution stay on topic and perhaps folks can post a list of what they know to be files that are easily changed to mod some of the basic graphics in SPBMS3.

Sorry but I am very bad speak English and I can not explain.
Adding some walls I tried with the lifestyle layout. All of them where found lying around on the web.
I dont know about you guys but i think someone that ACTUALLY knows how to structure a thread for SKINS should create a thread for SPB 3.0 skins and maybe this thread belongs here.

mvp. there is no difference between a 30k post member and yourself. It is tho, suggested, that instead of opening this thread to just suggest the creation of SPBMS3 skins, you, or whoever else that designed one and would like to keep it neat, would open it.
No hard feelings. I will now close this thread. If you (or anyone else for that matter) is willing to open a new thread, with a new skin, and is willing to keep it tidy enough, I will sticky it since this is gonna be a huge one and it's preferable to start it without a bunch of argumentative posts.
I will also EDIT the thread created to contain the rules on posting the skins (just like in the M2D thread, which is tidy and doesn't contain lots of posts since I delete posts which aren't new skins).

I agree, some guy posted "new version is up" compared to the developer actually comes in and posts a nice thread with pictures. Can't believe people want this one deleted.
Before I download this (older beta version was very hard to uninstall)... How is the landscape support? I use my device almost 50% in landscape mode.

It seems to work fine i landscape mode, but S2U2 1.00 has some trouble.
When pressing power button to activate S2U2, it won't activate properly. Pointui overrides S2U2... Also when the phone times-out, and S2U2 activates, I can press power twice to unlock the phone...
Anyone knows how to fix this?

Personally, if someone told me to close one of my own ROM's threads or any of my kitchen's threads, and join a thread someone else created about the ROM, I would NOT want to do it. I wouldn't be able to update the Original post with anything. The first post SHOULD be the developer's thread. What they CAN do is merge the threads by adding that other thread into the end of this one.

Point One: I suspect he's only trying to help and so probably doesn't deserve your little rant - what exactly qualifies you to issue orders here?
Point Two: Perhaps the person opening the thread should have followed the rules of the forum and checked for another thread on the same topic (which was right at the top of this thread for most of yesterday evening) before starting a new one.
Importantly, no crime was committed here so let's lighten up a bit.

This thread was aparently started by the developer. My little rant is acceptable. I don't issue orders, and this guy shouldn't either bud, that was exactly my point because that is exactly what HE is trying to do.

Yes, I get frustrated seeing new threads that people have started in relation to another thread (why not ask that in the thread you've just quoted?), however, i've just searched "delay with ringing" on the Diamond thread to no real satisfaction. It led me to a thread that quoted another thread that never answered the question.
I agree that we shouldn't keep answering OP's that have been answered weeks, maybe months before, but linking the search page takes the piss! Especially knowing when it takes one person who has had a similar problem, or has read the page with the solution on it to reply with either the answer or the link to the post (not the thread) with the answer on it.
I'd probably feel more welcome on an Apple forum.....

I agree with these sentiments entirely. IMHO you would be hard pressed to find a less welcoming set of forums for a newcomer anywhere else on the internet than these ones. Sometimes it is like a little boy's club for nerds - sniggering at the new boy who does not know as much as them, and has dared to ask a question that they think is "obvious".
Linking to the search engine rather than the answer is a funny little trick to them, at the new boy's expense. It gives them a good giggle and makes them feel superior. And as often as not when you try the search they say you should you come up with nothing.
Oops not made myself popular now with the in-crowd - will be eating my school dinners by myself from now on.

I am simply asking you guys a question and if you can't answer in a normal and polite fashion then maybe you should ask your mom if she could have paid more money for you to get a proper education.

You have many ways to change the icons :
You can change the icons of the shortcuts with for example desktop visualizer or same kind of application
you can change the icon launcher for each app directly from the apk folder ( generally located in drawable hdpi )
most of the launchers allows you to edit the icons and change them browsing from your sd card pics
Another way would be to create a theme.zip which could directly overwrite the apps icons _ would be one of my next step

It is not an obligation to publish on a public link any kind of work presented in xda threads ( check out forum rules ) _ i was thinking you was a friendly user as i saw in Oceanis ....
I could ask you "what's the point of a thanks button on a public forum if people share work for users that even dont click on a single button ?" ....
by the way, here are your own words
I suggest:
A) You "hit Thanks" and PM Yorzua as suggested by him in Post # 2 (That way, you know he will see the request)
B) You remove your email address from your post above unless you want spam to flood it?

I share my work since the very first post in xda and actually, all links are just removed. Links sent already to each pm received _ even shared through dropbox

I was merely stating isn't it a waste of time on your behalf, starting a thread on a forum whereby you personally seemed so hooked on the flaming "Thanks" function, that you refuse to share your work unless people "jump through some hoops"? You could technically argue you're rorting the system as other developers are relying on the general "unlaziness" of a person to hit "Thanks"
Your obscure method kind of reminds me of those websites you go to to download a file and they say "But first you must complete a quick survey to obtain the download link" next thing you know your system is infected with malware.
Imagine if Linux developers (or TRUE open source developers) had your mindset, they wouldn't be as successful as they are today.
What isn't the self satisfaction enough that you know how many people are downloading your files and the fact you know those several hundred people are probably bragging about this cool theme on their HTC to their mates? Isn't that Thanks enough? Or is it so important to you that a gimmick on forum shows the world how popular you are?
The convo you quoted of mine above was assisting a person with something he obviously overlooked in your thread. Is it his fault he didn't read it? or your fault for not displaying the message properly? Some of these threads are 2000 pages long, you expect someone to read all the pages to get up to date with a ROM? I'm a user... not a developer... I rely on creative guys like you to provide me with what I want... I don't care about a gimmick called "Thanks"... I want screenshots so I know what it looks like, a instruction set to mod my phone and download links... that's the harsh reality of the mindset of people you're dealing with... "Hit Thanks?..... is this guy on drugs?!?!.... that's an extra click I have to do?????"
All in all, I'm now put off by your general attitude and I will endeavour to search out a new theme for my Desire when I get sick of yours.
I'm just one person right? What do you care?........ I'll just make sure tomorrow that I tell the 3 guys at work who have HTC's not to bother with your theme (Yes I've been bragging about your theme)... I never told them where I got it from... I wonder who else thinks like I do but chose not to vent it publicly on this forum?

Nothing in particular... I just think he's rude and arrogant and treats everyone like they should know what he's thinking and how he writes code.. Heaven forbid someone hasn't spent some time learning how to read and write code so they can sit on a pedestal beside him!

Some of you know me, some don't. I'm more active trough PM then trough posting. But this is something that is bother me for a while and I think a lot of us.
And it can't be done trough PM, believe me, i have tried....
We all (if we are fair) know that the x10 is old mobile. And the most of us don't use a mobile longer than 2 years. So why o why read I so many post of people that are complaining about a update from a dev. Let them move on and give new dev's a chance
My personal top 3 irritations!!!!!
1) if you can't do it yourself, be grateful for everything they do for us and don't complain!!!
2) if we (the users) get a new mobile, how many people still stick to the x10 treads? So why expect a lot of people that the dev's must stick to the X10 forum and development further!!!
3) if a dev don't post for a while, don't post non related post in a DEVELOPMENT TREAD and complain about a update!!!
I have talk with a lot of members trough a personal message and told them about the post they have placed. But I think its a neverending story.
I think when the Mods are more harsher and give quicker a warning and ban people, then maybe people think twice what they post. I know that the mods help xda in their spare time and do all they can. But when you make a couple statements, the word get spread and maybe maybe this will work!

Even though i bought a Galaxy Note, i still read the first page of the General/Dev/Q&A section of the X10 forum daily.
You are right about people complaining to developers for updates, but that's just the way it is. It doesn't have to disturb you, or anyone. Most people ignore these types of begging posts anyway.
My experience in forums showed that having strict moderation won't do a thing. It will only lead to more drama. I know you feel you have to do something about this, but believe me its better if you relax and don't do anything at all. The mods know their job and doing the best they can. Talking to individuals via PM's and trying to explain why they shouldn't do this and that is not only time consuming, but as you can see, it lead you being frustrated enough to start this thread.
This thread will be read by (lets say) 1000, will be replied by 10-20, some may agree, some may not. It then will crawl it's way on the bottom of the page until a similar thread pops up. (There, just saved you some time )
Bottom line is, it's the interwebz. Don't get too attached.

Unfortunately, you are right. People feel its a right they possess to get the developer to work non stop for them. Things in the x10 forums are still relatively mild though... In the atrix forum, the CM7 thread had to be closed for a period of time due to people complaining and demanding for fixes. And the "thx" posts. Here's a classic example

I have just counted 93 posts deleted by moderators and with the warnings posted, about a dozen took vacations for ignoring the developer and moderators warning of being a Dev only thread. Just because you do not see warnings posted everywhere does not mean nothing is being done, most problems can be sorted out using the new infraction system, we use that all the time now, it is easy to use and straight to the point.
This type of thread cleaning and response is happening all the time, reported posts are dealt with much faster and if anybody needs banning, senior mods are available on gtalk to sort it out immediately.

You harsh, Nah. (I do however get the feeling it was you that closed my first thread posted here.) But having an Avatar that is a Happy Face , with a "Heidelberg Scar" doesn't really convoy a feeling of warm, fuzzy comfort to people. More like good mod / bad mod and Colossus= good mod; he even warns people in a very nice polite way. But temporarily freezing threads seems to be doing a great job of allowing the tensions to diffuse. Kudos for that.
