what is better?

since our wizards are not so powerful in sense of cpu and memory, is it better to have almost clean rom without touchflo and htc home and those functions to replace with spb pocketplus and weather, or even with more simple rltoday + some other weather plugin (without smart scrolling function)?

Hum... thats one of those questions thats kinda up to you decide what works best, according to your needs. If you really want a clean ROM, meaning standard apps and all, you go with the official ROM's from your phone provider.
I rather use specific software to do what I need than use a plugin that does everything and some stuff I don't want.

This is from usability point of view, and what is better from performance point of view? All you need (and do not need) in rom or light rom with lot of add-on softwares?

Lets see... if you have all the apps built in the ROM, you won't be able to remove them if an update comes along, you can overwrite them tho, meaning you'll have probably some junk after a while.
If you have a light ROM, if its really good, you won't have any problems with it and you can install whatever you wish as an add-on. Sometimes when you put some software thats not supposed to work with our devices (like HTC Home Plugin, for example) it will slow it down... but if you have it built in on the ROM, it works just fine. That is due to memory allocation problems that do exist on the WM devices. For instance, that was what kept us from installing the Touchflo drivers on Wizard WM5 devices.

programs inside the rom dont use any storage or ram of a device unless started
not using all the space in the rom dont make it faster really
so it's better if one removes something to put something else in it's place
because programs installed my the user does! take up storage

dferreira, as i can see you are using wm5. why? is your build of wm5 faster then original one (i have t-mobile). currently i am using pdaviet wm6 built.
after flashning it i was surprised how fast it was. but now after few installed softwares and a month of using it seems to getting slower. is it just my imagination or you also have that experience?

Any ROM behaves like that after a while. Maybe is something to do with the trash WM leaves behind everytime we install something.
Why I use WM5? Because that's the OS that came with our devices. From what I've tested, there isn't a single WM6 that does work without any bugs (missing calls, wifi not working, etc). Also I find that WM6 makes our device drain the battery a lot faster. So I decided to make a WM5 ROM with the stuff we miss the most on WM6.

i presumed that this is similar to windows installed to pc. i will wait for your new 5.1 release and then will give a chance again to wm5.
for sure i will not miss htc cube or flo.
what about better memory management in wm6? is it possible to improve it in wm5?

Recommendations for a good ROM

I think we all tested lots of cooked ROMS but in every one there is something that either you miss or extra you dont need and consumes memory.
and I suggest from a user point of view that it would be nice if ROM developers would always make a lite version more like an original one and an extra version for those who like a ROM pre-loaded with everything.
and in my opinion a ROM as such should be as follows:
1-Based on an original ROM without much changes.
2-FAST, STABLE, LEAST RAM and CPU usage.
4-Latest updates as .NET 3.5
3-A working Bluetooth ftp to receive files.
4-Original Voice command that works from it regular button
5-A Dialer that works without problems
6-May be a midlet manager.
Plz share ur opinions so we could reach an agreement on what to call "A GOOD OLD SIMPLE ROM"

I like Akeo's rom, iamhere like's Karma's rom, other people like Mary roms.
I'm sure they're both stable and working, if there was one good ROM wouldn't everyone use it? it's all about personal preference. So, pick one, download it, try it, if you don't like it, pick another, rinse and repeat until you find one you like.
Spent much longer making that point this time than I think I ever have before, think yourself lucky!

First rule is to test test and test some more! there is no perfect ROM, just preferred ROMs. It's all based down to user taste, functionality and stability.
My reasons why F1NixNOver ROMs rule every single trinity ROM as follows according to your list:
1) - Based on latest WM6.1 images
2) - Very efficient ROM... most efficient compared to all others in terms of speed, storage (lite rom available) and stability
4) - Latest updates to all software inc arcsoft, .net, and htc base apps
3) - No bluetooth problems, no A2DP problems
5) - Very good dialler, not based on windows stock dialler. Has speed, smartdial and video
6) - install you own.
Also it's IMO the prettiest ROM there is. (ESP the black version!)

Pro Series m11 must give you 65mb on startup AFTER configuring all active sync properly and a deleting unwanted processes on startup. i have used colorful commonmanger in this special edition Rom.i have also used htc mega dialer original skin.fully loaded rom.lots up extra software are in this rom.
How to install:
- Flash this ROM as usual
- Wait 3 minutes on the welcome screen
- Calibrate screen
- Customization will start auto it take 2 minutes.
- network service configuration then device will auto reboot.
- then enjoy my rom.

thanksss for feedback i will try to give best rom for all but nobody take inters in my rom when all install my rom then giveing me feedback then i will try to fix all bug.

I understand that you want to play to individuality, but try to use understandable icons. Good idea, reminiscent of I-Phone. But a little more work needs. If I will have time, I will set up an icon pack with fresh icons!
Nice LockScreen! What kind is it?
If you want less bugs in your ROM, then you should seek to incorporate less third party apps in ROM!
Try to simplify! it will cure a lot of bugs.

but here is some issues:
- calculator does not work ( this is same as m9 )
- battery drain fast ( in 8 hours it loose about 25% !! without any usage)
- every thing else is working normally and without bugs ( thanks )

in next version plz improve battery life of course without deleting M2D and EZinput
try to simplify your rom and use only necessary third party application like PIM Backup/ a power controller like xda shutdown, quick shutdown/ plz add normal theme in your rom ( any way this is yours and we all are thankful for sharing it)

Try to change the Regional settings to another like English (uk) or something like that! Coz the same problem is in the Jogan2s EVO ROMs when i using Latvian or Russian REG SETTINGS! Do not know why this happening!

Battery Drain(30% in 9 hrs of Standby).

Classic WM6.1 Screen on HD?

Hi Guys,
Since the HD Runs Windows Mobile 6.1, is it possible to disable every trace of HTC Sense and get the normal WM6.1 Interface as older Wm6.1 devices have without any ill effects?
I'm asking because I'm thinking of Buying a HD, which is possibly the latest device without WM6.5.
Coming from somebody who is old style (I have owned 2 Himalayas so I like classic looking interfaces, none of this fancy clock jumping across the screen and clouds and thunder animations. By classic I mean like this :

you can choose that home screen on each and every windows mobile version and rom. even windows mobile 6.5 or 6.5.x still have that. even if a device might be set to titanium, manila or sense by default, you can deactivate it and in the end, you will end up with that screen you want

Yeah however I'm wondering whether the today screen on the HD itself will look like the one I posted, I don't know if on later Wm6.1 devices they made the Today Screen "Modernized" even without any add-on interfaces like Manilla etc.

that's the point, since there are GUIs like titanium, manila, sense... the default home screen has not been further developed. i made screenshots for you, on the first one, you'll see the home screen with sense 2.5 (my rom is cloudy 0.7, wm6.1 with sense 2.5), then the settings screen and then the one you want, just for comparison. never mind that it's black instead of green, you see in pic2 that's just a theme, and of course it is longer than the one you posted, because of the device's wvga resolution, but basicly it is the same. in pic3 you see, that in order to get the old today screen, i unchecked sense and checked everything else instead. if you were running a wm6.5 rom, it would be likely that that list showed sense, "windows default" (titanium) and the simple items.
and you can also continue to use old home screen plugins that were made for wm2003 or greater, usually satnav software comes with plugins (see navigon in screen4, but also tomtom and others).

yes, it is possible. There are some ROMs by chefs who remove all manufacturer HTC apps and stuff.It is like freshly baked vanilla ROMs staight from Microsoft. Alternativdly, if you are looking to keep the stock ROM, YES you can disable all HTC apps. The today screen csn be reverted back to the stock UI like your pic, and disable othe HTC mods via Reg Tweaks + Cabs

Your ultralite rocks mehul. Its extremely stable, smooth and very fast. But still, the messaging tab in manila works slow. I reli dunno why. Switching of messages takes a lot of time. And I don't like to overclock my device. So can you please find a solution for that? Thank-you once again. The ROM is super amazing

an issue!
there's an issue man. in a certain window when u click tabs, the color of that tab doesn't change and u get confused in which tab you are working. like in the pictures. any fix for that coz it would pain to change everything and flash. or can i just change the theme. but i dont want that. the current one is so sweet and simple.

OK I WILL TRY TO FIX IT SOON.
i was worked very hard work on this theme making so small bug necessary.

i'm using the ultra lite one
it is the best ROM you've made till now
every thing works great and the battery life is good
only one thing: USb to PC not working
please make it work in youe next pro energy ROMs
