[4.10.09][CAB][T-Mobile] T-Mobile Hotspot login Utility 2.6.1 FIXED all devices. - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I was not sure where to post this and who would find this usefull. I hope that the Mods will either place this post where it Belongs or merge the threads.
[APR. 10, 2009] T-Mobile Hotspot Login 2.6.1 (U.S.A) Now works with Starbucks!!
I was browsing through the T-Mobile website and found an update for ATLAS (aka WING).
As some of you may know (those who have the T-Mobile total internet package); You were once able to walk into any STARBUCKS and log into it as a T-Mobile HotSpot and get free WiFi. Then they decided to use ATT as their WiFi provider leaving us T-Mo customers very confused... at least I was.
The fact of the matter is that you can still use your T-Mo login at STARBUCKS and everywhere there used to be a T-Mo HotSpot and now ATT. You just have to log in as a roamer.
Now, You can use tis cab to bypass PIE and connect quicker without wasting so much time.
After trying to install it on my MDA (Wizard) I realized that it would not install on 6.1 (got a message that it was not a supported device)
So I decided to experiment.
I made a new cab out of the packages (it was a cab with 2 cabs inside it all of which were platform dependent)
Now it should work on all ppc devices and maybe smartphone too.
WHAT YOU NEED:
T-Mobile HotSpot Login ID and Passcode
Download the cab from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502674

T-Mobile Internet, Working Apps (IM)?

OK so I am new here, but I am not new to mobile devices at all. In fact I was a Mobility Admin in different forums. So please don't get mad at me for posting here. I have some questions. PLEASE don't play the FLAME the noob game. I swear that I searched far and Wide for my answers but have failed to find them.
So my question: is there anyway to tweak the T-Mobile T-zones Internet?
I can:
Connect to the internet
Download Files
Stream Music (orb)
Stream Video (badly[orb])
Use Google Maps
I can't:
Connect To IM servers, I have tried all of the programs. OZ for T-Mo is the only one that works, but it's horrible.
No YouTube, I can live without this but I hope to get it working.
MIDP can't connect.
Basicly nothing, that doesn't connect from, IE works.
----------------------------------------------------
I have played with the Proxy settings and nothing. I know that with my Treo 650 I could connect through VeriChat, but I can't connect on WM6.
Is there a program out there that can help me fix this?
Again I'm sorry if this is a repost, or an overkill of something, but I want to get this stuff working.
Thanks

I do not have an obvious solution but have also seen plenty of similar comments here from others - not just with T-Mobile either. I am using T-Mobile in the UK and have none of your problems.
I obviously had the original T-Mobile Vario II build (WM5) but now have the Black MAJIK build with WM6 and all has been fine with both. Some people directly accuse T-Mobile of blocking their IM, but I have no issue with it - albeit I use it rarely. Of course it "may" be that T-mobile are indeed blocking some services to 'offenders' (IM is not allowed) but I wonder if their system is that capable.
Obvious questions for you are: what OS are you using? Have you changed ANY comms settings from the original T-Mobile build? Have you tried a hard reset to restore original settings (including the all important T-Mobile extended ROM)?
If you still have the original OS ROM build running then you might try installing the configuration .cab files that are stored on the Extended ROM separately - some apply directly to such device settings. Access to that Extended ROM on the WM5 build is easy and you just need an application such as "HTweakC 2.0" (available here). Of course, and as ever, start with backing-up your device - but you will know that.
I hope this helps.
I have VSWL Rom.
I have setup the internet (GPRS) settins like they are suppose to be.
I believe that it is a fact that T-Mo has blocked ports, and has only left http smtp and pop3 open. So my dilema is why did verichat connect on my Treo 650 and not on my MDA or my 8525.
First we need to know if you are in tmobile usa, uk...????
if you are in tmo usa then you can't
if you have the proxies 216.155.165.50:8080 the most you can use is PIE (pocket internet explorer)
the best thing is to get the blackberry $20 dollar add-on plan and just setup without proxys. wap.voicestream.com and you have full internet access.
I am in the USA, and I have the T-zona 5.99 plan.
I am less than reluctant to close my mind for this not to work, since google maps works. and, as I said, on my Treo 650 using verichat worked perfectly.
I don't know what the difference in the way the Treo 650 connected and the way my 8525 connects.
Perhaps the programs that can connect are ones that ones that connect through port 80 and are proxied to 8080.
I am so lost on this topic though.
too many contractidicting points.
such as streamining works on win but not on palm
IM worked on Palm but on Win.

VOIP on Juno

Hi,
I have T-Mobile Shadow. I want to configure VOIP line on this phone over WiFi or T-mobile data connection. I am new to windows mobile platform so i don't know much about it. Please Help me on it
Thanks in advance.
Here ya go.
http://www.freddyreyes.com/forums/index.php?topic=363.0
voip will not work on t-mobiles internet (EDGE)
wait until 3g comes out then you have free voip calls if they can get it right, works fine on my friends verizon phone
It works great using WIFI, so you don't have to use your minutes when you are at home or school
Can't install the created cab file
I have created the cab file using the _setup.xml with my settings in it but when ever i try to install it on my phone it says "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate". Do I need to do something extra or am I missing anything?
You should APP unlock your phone.

Using T-Zones/ Web2Go with Cooked ROM possible?

If I want to be able to download and install Telenav from T-Mobile's wap site do I need to go back to the original ROM that came with my phone or is there another way to make this work? Right now I get an error message about my phone not being comaptible or something to that effect.
I am using the Fusion ROM and have been completely away from WM phones for a long time. Glad to be back but I can't give up my BlackBerry until everything works like it does...reliably!
Do you mean using the 5.99 T-Zones to get online? That's what I'm doing now just fine no problems. And even if you can't get Telenav to work there are plenty of other good programs like iGo, Tomtom, and Garmin.
I am referring to actually accessing T-Zones itself to download from T-Mobile's service/software offerings. I only want Telenav but that appears to be the only way to get it...I wish I could save it as a cab when downloading from the original ROM then open it up and install on this ROM...
Would that be possible?

If you have a t-mobile account you can log into your online manager and use the help to configure the T-Zones. Or you can call T-Mobile customer support and they will walk you through it.

Tilt on Tmobile - HTTPS sites return 400 Bad Request

Greetings-
I have an unlocked AT&T Tilt (HTC Kaiser/etc)
When using a Tmobile SIM:
I can browse HTTP using pocket internet explorer (PIE) without problem
When I browse HTTPS using PIE I get 400 Bad Request
When I browse HTTP/HTTPS using Opera Mobile 9.51 I get the site without problem
If I swap in an AT&T SIM:
I can browse HTTP/HTTPS with PIE without problem
I can browse HTTP/HTTPS with Opera Mobile without problem
The device connection setup does not use a proxy, though I suspect an issue with Tmobile's EPC.
Searching the forum only turned up this similiar but unresoved post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-409601.html
Anyone have any idea?
lol...simple. Stop using PIE. It suck.
PIE is basic (which may translate into sucking) but it's faster to load than the alternatives and is adequate for checking email/searching.
More troubleshooting:
When using Fennec I get the error
This document cannot be displayed unless you install the Personal Security Manager (PSM)
Fennec works fine under AT&T
I tried PIE on a Hermes, HTTP/HTTPS works fine, albeit on WM5
So it's looking like something on WM6, using PIE, on Tmobile is the scope of the problem. Anyone know if Tmobile MITM's their HTTPS sessions? I wonder if PIE/Fennec are complaining about malformed SSL Certs...
Do you have WM6.1? If not they flash that rom...it has a newer version of PIE.
flashing a new rom fixed it for me, it had an updated PIE
Do you have any idea what the cause was?
I'm hesitant to flash a new ROM as a fix, especilly since it worked on WM5 (and I don't want to rebuild my phone...)
So I guess the new question is, what do WM5 & WM6.1 have in common that WM6.0 lacks?

Connection Setup for TMOUS HD2

Fellow XDA-users
Is it possible to extract the connection setup wizard from a regular HD2 and port it to the TMOUS HD2? T-Mobile has disabled this function, and the two cabs I found here in this forum do not have all countries (more specifically, neither has the settings for Brazil )
I have access to an unbranded HTC HD2 and I could try to extract the connection setup files and create a cab, if someone could show me the ropes.
Thanks in advance.
Ryplok
hm no answers yet... I'm looking for the same thing... I've only found a cab for Connection setup 1.0. .. database it's too old, as I see my Topaz has 3.1 ... does anybody know wich files I can extract from ROM to put in my TMOUS HD2?
Ryplok, did you find anything ?
I really need this too. I've been searching everywhere. I travel a lot and use a lot of different SIM cards. It would be very nice to get the connection setup wizard back.

connection setup fixed
Thanks Herlek,
I just added the connections setup wizard to my TMOUS hd2 and now it works the same as my HD did when switching sim cards/countries. I switch regularly between T-mobile in the US and China Mobile in China. The setup wizard saves a lot of hassles having to manually set the connection settings every time I travel.
I would be very unhappy with this phone if it were not for all the help I get from xda developers.
Thanks!!!!
I also want to say thanks Herlek. I was in mid travels when you posted it, downloaded your file, and it worked great in Netherlands and UK. It did not find my provider in Latvia, so I still had to add that one manually. But I go back and forth often, and this will also save me a lot of hassle!
I used the connection setup wizard here in china and everything is working fine except for the carrier name in the upper left corner of the home screen.
I just noticed that my carrier (china mobile or CMCC) is no longer properly displayed just under the start menu. All that is displayed is "????" instead of the carrier name. Anyone know what I need to do to get the carrier name to appear properly?
The phone is a stock TMOUS ROM, purchased new a couple of weeks ago. I used the connection setup wizard cab suggested by Herlek.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Links to HTC Connection Setup
The links above are for an old v1 version.
Check HTC Connection Setup v2.7 in the SysConSetupTopaz27.cab found in this post.
I'm looking for a HTC Connection Setup 3.1 which is included in several current ROMs but can't find a cab for it.
EDIT: Finally found it and posted the cab here: HTC Connection Setup PPC v3.1.2016.2829.cab.
