Equalizer and X1 - XPERIA X1 General

Hi, can anyone recommend me a way how can I change sound attributes? What I would like the most is playing music using WMP and use equalizer provided by some small application (which implements itself to WMP, for example). If there's no such thing, then, please, recommend me a good and mainly reliable (doesn't stop playing after two songs or makes small pauses every few minutes in sleep mode...) player, which can be very simple and doesn't have to have any "amazing" GUI. Many thanks.

SRS WOW HD.
many are using it.

BUt it'snot compatible for phones above WM6. anybody out there can tweak it?

So it's working or not?

Working perfect.

I have wm 6.5 installed on my x1, and wen i install srs wow on my device i get absolutely no sound from my device until u uninstall it

Ok, WM6.5 is not the common OS for the X1, so maybe it's not compatible to that. Works very well with my original 6.1, so give it a try. I also like the headphone effects, gives it a lot more stereophony in my point of view.
Regarding a good music player, I can always recommend MortPlayer, which is really a player when you want to use your device for music playback rather than playing around.

Thank you very much, Dandie. Gonna give it a shot.
EDIT: So I downloaded version 1.2.1 from this forum. It sure changed something, mainly the volume is stuck at maximum. I found another topic about this problem on X1, but there was no concrete solution (this one). And another issue, when I change the values in SRS WOW HD, it stays the same, do I have to softreset after every change or what? In that topic, there is mentioned version 1.5.1.0, but I'll wait for your reply... I'm a bit confused.

Think it depends on the version you use. Saw that there seem to be a couple versions out there but have yet to test out which is the working version.

Hmm, it's obviously working for Dandie, theasters and Nocturnal310, they are the ones to ask for help. So please, can any of you help us to find the right version?

Equalizer & X1
Try Pocket player
It has an equalizer that you can also customise
Sounds good

Which version?

HTC Equalizer Problem

Hi! Im starting a new thread because i was begging for help in various threads and noone ever replyed and im growing desperate. I have HTC Hermes and i use it very often as a MP3 Player. I use S2P as my player, and i'd love to keep it that way because its very beatufull.
THE PROBLEM:
I have HTC Equalizer 1.0.2 installed, when i change the equalizer preset it works fine but when i pause the song, or play next/prev... The equalizer turns off I have to change the equalizer preset to make it work again, this is very annoying thing to do everytime you want to play another song. I tried like 4 different ROMs and everytime its the same So please im begging you, please can anybody help me? please? I've been posting this throughout many forums but noone has helped me.
Is there realy anyone who can help? Or just post something like go f**k yourself or something, is there anyone out there who uses HTC equalizer on Hermes? If so, do you have the same problem? or don't you? if you dont, what ROM do you have? Please answer me somebody!
im listening on hermes witch htc equalizer and i have same problem like you, did you solve this problem ?
I have purchased HTC P3000 from reliance web world and facing a problem like there is no option for equalizer in windows media player or audio manager associated with it. I have tried HTC Equalizer and HTC Audio Booster but both of them failed to work properly.
Please suggest how to enhance my mobile.
try using WOW HD... im using it to amplify my hermes.. ciao

I uploaded to Rapidshare!
Sorry for mistake!

no good
This does not work on the ppc6800 running the new "official" Sprint WM6.1 ROM. You get no sound with it installed.
This is the SmartPhone version
The version posted in this thread is the smartphone version. I tried to install it earlier and found that it disabled all sounds in my phone, so I uninstalled and went searching in the Development and Hacking thread.
I found that the correct version for PPC's was actually v1.2.1. All the files necessary for making it work on the Titan are available in the SRSWoW thread in the Development and Hacking forum.
Check
Here
and
Here
(I'm using DCD's 3.1.6 ROM)
hmmm
For some strange reason, the file doesn"t work with the new Sprint official WM6.1 ROM. I see that people using DCD's ROM seem to have no problem with it.
Kinda strange. I don't think a solution has been found for the Sprint ROM yet.
I have official WM6.1 ROM!
Strange!
Working fine!
Had you guys done all instructions right?
I did like that:
1)Install SRS WOW HD
2)Restart
3)Install REG Patch
4)Restart
5)Done
sound
Yup....I did it twice just to be sure.. I've also tried all the other versions and get the same result? (well..one gives a file error that some say can be fixed by a reg entry however it didnt work on my mogul)
Quite a few people seem to be posting the same problem they can't seem to resolve.
Just out of curiosity..did you let the Sprint customizations run when you did your ROM upgrade? I was thinking maybe its something in that.

Don't remember!
Bringing this back - does it work with 6.0?
If I download the files listed in this thread will it work with Windows 6.0? Just read a short article in Smartphone and Pocket PC and I'm curious to try it out.
Thanks!
tried it.. no worky
using dcd 3.2.3, just get no sound. many other threads on this to BTW...
Installed 1.21, replaced the control panel file with the newer one, and did a soft reset. Sounds great on my Moto S9 Rokr bluetooth headset.
Oh almost forgot... Using Sprint's official 6.1 released ROM.
Eek. While SRS was installed, my phone couldn't use its external speaker.. No media sound, no ringers. Not a good idea to trade getting your calls for better sound.
We can wait for newer version!
I can't listen music without this plug-in!
I trade for better sound then my ringer
Music is more important for me!!!
srswow
Anyone had any luck getting this to work on Sprint's new WM6.1 ROM yet?
I would love to be able to get this to run...
I thought the SRSWOW project was long since "abandoned" aka no one bothered to continue to update it. I'm probably wrong. (hopefully)
anyone have a surefire way of getting this program to work on wm6.1?
I have a mogul and a coworker has a touch, and we both miss this program a lot.
I like the newest ROM though, so I don't want to downgrade just to get srswow working.
Anyone? Anyone? ......Bueller?
BTW : I've tried every version and suggestion from the other threads with no luck.
Every one of them either knocks the sound out completely, or gives the no driver loaded error.
Make downgrade!
I'll flash WM6 then listening to music with low quality!
Slightly OT: If you haven't checked out GSPlayer, its a freeware MP3 player that can handle streaming audio with a built in equilizer and WOW type effects. After loosing the WOW HD and moping around for a bit listening to flat sounding music, I stumbled across it and love it.

edit: Oh, and its skinnable, use google to find skins...
does it's support DRM protected WMAs?....i use Rhapsody with my mogul. WMP and HTC audiomanager supports DRM files but i hardy listen to music anymore since SRS broke

Audio Manager for X1 WVGA

Does anyone have a working Audio Manager for X1:s WVGA screen (480x800)?
I've got HTC Audio Manager (v2.0 build 1819.2129) running on my X1 (after renaming AudioManager.exe.0409.mui to AudioManager.exe.041D.mui since OS is in Swedish), but all graphics and fonts are QVGA up in the left corner. I guess that it would work to update the mm_skin.xml (and mmr_skin.xml) and double the size of all pics, but that seems like a lot of work. And maybe someone's already done that?
Probably a WVGA version will come with Touch HD, but I want it now!
Thanks,
kjw
Yes, it would be great to have the HTC Audio Manager working on the X1.
I downloaded five different versions from the web yesterday; none worked. Searching for hours to no avail.
Help or a working cab would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!
GZ
Why don't you try the search function. It can really do wonders.
There is a Touch-IT_Blackstone_Audiomanager.cab in one of itje's posts if I recall correctly.
the actual audio manager program does not work using the Touch-IT_Blackstone_Audiomanager.cab. The audiobooster does, but not the audio manager. I've searched, but have yet to find a working solution to get the audio manager working. Any ideas or help?
Thanks
you can find it here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442154&highlight=Blackstone+Audiomanager 2nd post...
*edit* oh I just saw your above post... so this doesnt work then??
Unfortunately, that appears to be the case. That's too bad because the audio manager is a really need program very similar to how the ipod works.
install one of itje's roms, its working 100% on his roms
Why bother with audio manager if you're not using tf3d? Audiomanager from the HD is incorporated into tf3d.
use any of the other freeware ones.
If you want Ipod alike then use s2p, it's on here in Dev&hacking, A_C the author even posted up in this section with a better version for the x1 to take advantage of the extra power the x1 has..
Amazing piece of software.
the audio manager program is actually really nice by itself as it has a nice interface very similar to an ipod (being able to browse easily by artist, album, playist, etc). A lot of folks like myself do not want to have tf3d or have to install a custom rom in order to have this program. The only other program that has a nice browser would be pocket player in my opinion. So are you telling me that the audio manager on touch hd is completely different from the other htc devices and the only way to use it is with tf3d?
yes that's exactly what I'm saying.
and i'll repeat again, why don't you try S2P ?
It's much better than audiomanager and looks like the Ipod/iphone player.

S2P is really nice but doesn't do well with WMA. Great app from A_C though . . .. . .

Alternative To Audio Booster??

Is there an equalizer that could be used with the HTC Player that actually stays on all the time, no matter what buttons you activate while playing music. I've tried various "fixes"; none really work. Since I don't care what the settings are for all of the other sounds (including phone voices), I'd be happy with an equalizer that stays on all the time and alters all sounds. Of course, ideally I'd like to turn it on and off as needed.
Thanks in advance.

have you tried srs wow?
Search for SRS WOW HD 1.5.1.0, there's a version for the HD2 floating around on the forum.

I use SRS WOW with Audio Booster, and the moment audio booster turns off I notice the difference immediately. The two need to be working together because using one and not the other simply is not enough for me.
HTC just need to fix audio booster.

Thanks! I installed it and will try it out. The controls seem less than intuitive; no obvious relationship to a graphic equalizer. But, I'll try it.

Increase bass and audio effects on Acer Neotouch

Hi, according to all you, is there an app that increases the sound quality (not only volume) but above all bass for our Neotouch? For example, for HTC devices there is SRS WOW HD (i tried to install it but later audio and bluetooth stopped working even if i followed the instructions about modify "olddriver" in registry........, fortunately i unistalled and all come back working)? Is there a similar app for our device?
Thank you very much (and sorry for my bad english)
PS: a small curiosity: which virtual java machine do you use on Acer, if you use one?
1. It's not for HTC devices, it's just an application...
2. There're several packages that do ... huh, partially work... But there're sleep issues on S200.
3. It's a matter of personal preference, whether to count this application as 'quality enhancer', but as for me, it's a sound distortion crapware... I would rather prefer better HF spectre...
As for Java, I use some modded jbed dated back to 2008, but the only java application I use is Opera Mini...
I'm interested too for a srs cab with no wake up issue on the acer s200 or another equalizer, if anyone found something...?
Too interests wow hd for acer s200...
It works for me perfectly, but the small animal if falls asleep, all will not wake up (...
Output while the such: I include before music listening (in customisations srs wow, I put a daw to use the driver), I include a player, I listen (it is possible to disable easy through a player the screen, the small animal will not fall asleep)... After listening, in options I switch off wow hd, not conveniently, but the sound is worthy of it...
All hope of the guru which can customise somehow wow hd under ours acer)
Excuse for bad English
I found that, its not very usuable but better than nothing
you will see a menu on the app wich show you "pcm session", that works only with it

Too it is not bad possible to twist a sound (and it becomes loud also basses), but not all toddlers are displayed, on it it is heavy to customise a sound (more precisely normally not to customise in general) and as I have understood customisations are not saved
Update:
Has added eq in programs, through Gravity Sensor has customised, now it is possible to twist also all it is visible in landscape a mode)

Had been using your customs rom 1.8 version. I must say you are doing a very good job! Loving it! Anyway, jus want to let you know I had accidentally found the SRS WOW for HD2. I installed it to your customs rom and was working perfectly! No wake up issues or anything!! Anyway, no wake up issues for me on the 1.8 version even before I install the SRS WOW...
