Help me decide btw HD or Diamond2 - Touch HD General

Hi fellow Xda members.
I'm considering of changing my N95 8GB out with a new HTC device. I just can't decide between the HD or the Diamond2.
As I see it the HD has a bigger screen and therefore more chunky and less handy. And the price tag of the Diamond2 is much lower. Is it true that other than that they are identical?
Does the screen size really matter that much, I will use it mostly for email and internet surfing.
What would you chose? Hope someone can make my decision making easier.
Thanks a lot

I haven't had the new Diamond in my hand, but I've been using my HD for three months now. The size is absolutely perfect, it's just right. It's as big as it can get without being too uncomfortable to wear in the pocket or use with a single hand.
I'd say go for the HD, but I'm not familiar with Diamond 2's price tag, if that's your deciding factor. It really boils down to whether you think that the larger screen and form factor (TD2 is ugly) are worth it.

The price tag isn't really a deciding factor. I really like the big screen of the HD
Is there any news on the video recording capabilities of the new TD2 ?
Or is it the same as the HD?

Screen size
Battery life
Zoom bar on Diamond2
3.5mm jack on TouchHD
Housing of TouchHD vs Housing of Diamond2
Price tag
Btw, diamond2 should be more expensive or just as expensive as the touch hd since it's a new device even thought it's a lower end device.

Hey Mate
one of my work mates has the Diamond and after he seen my HD he regrets the purchase once ur familiar with the HD there is no other you want, as long as you use a video convertor easily found on this site it works great my VIDS are so clear and the sounds is awesome my whole company is jealous

i think the screen size of the hd is an important feature in a keyboard-less device like this
less screen size equals smaller virtual keys
and bigger pain when writing

HD every time. Big screen is fantastic but not too big. Any bigger (ref Toshiba) and it would be cumbersome.
For internet surfing - that was one of your needs - the HD is great. Here is where the big screen and high resolution really shows.

What does the video converter do? Do you use it after you record something with the HD to make the quality better?
Thanks a lot for the reply everybody, so I guess the HD isn't chunky and too big after all :-D
Does anyone know the specs for the video recording of the new TD2?

Check out PDADB.
You'll see that the new Diamond II has the same camera as the Touch HD.
By the way, a videoconverter converts a video
It converts a video to a size that's optimized for the screen on your phone.
Means you can scale your vids too 480x800 and having the quality optimized so it'll look fabulous on your phone.

Okay thanks..
haha I know what it means
But maybe it could do some magic so that the recording got better hahaha
Because there is such a program for Samsung Omnia...

for me it was the screen size... had been using BlueAngel for past 4 yrs.... it is still working fine.... only hiccup was that it did not support faster data connection (only GPRS... no Edge or 3G). only thing that I miss in HD right now is the h/w keyboard.... but i'm getting used to the onscreen qwerty of HD.

Never used the TD2 but I used to have the original TD and that was simply awfull!
It kept hanging, had an earth problem and was really crap for signal, check the specs of the processor/RAM out before you make a decision!
I have the HD now and can say it's absolutely fantastic, it is the perfect size and coming from the TD it feels more comfortable aswell!

Not that I know off.
IF there's a similiar program for the Touch HD, I'd be happy to use it too.
As far as camerawise, my personal opinion is to rather have a pixon, n96 or a x1.
In my opinion phones for the "more standard users" but with better camera's.

I'm thinking of getting the Diamond2. I lost my HD on holiday a couple of weeks ago and if the insurance comes back with money instead of a new HD I'd like a change. There isn't a massive difference in screen size, but the diamond2 is slated for an official upgrade to WM6.5 when it arrives later this year. I won't miss the 3.5mm socket since I never really used it on the HD. Battery life might be the only killer for me as its not as well specced as the HD in that department.

i should go for the pro 2 because i hate the onscreen keybord

Changing from Touch Diamond to Touch HD - is it worth it?

Hi all,
did anyone of you the step from HTC Diamond to the new Touch HD?
Apart from the obvious, technical differences: What is your opinion? Is it better? Is the handling the same or do you feel a difference (e.g. performance?).
What is your experience with the new Buttons at the bottom?
Thanks for any input.
Rgds
Kingshill
I'd like to know the answer to this too. I have a diamond and am not sure wether its worth the £500. Is it reallly worth it? Some people think we're mad anyway shelling out hundreds for a telephone especialy when you've got one. Maybe we need councilling?
I wonder as well if I should change. What I really love on the Diamond is the size. And the HD is big in my opinion. Sure it's nice with the big screen etc.
If the HD would have TV-out, ok, but I don't see real big advantage on the HD. Sure performance is better, but I think I will wait for the next HTC Device with probably WM 6.5.
From my point of view, the HD offers to solve all of the problems the diamond had - i.e lack of expandable memory, poor battery and tiny screen.
I managed to sell my diamond on ebay for £320. A mate of mine in trade can get me the HD at the trade price of £460. So thats an HD for £140.
HD doesnt arrive until mid week - will let you all know then.
I have the diamond (actually a t-mobile mda compact iv) as a work phone, and have just bought the HD to replace my personal tytn.
I actually see them as two different phones, for two very different purposes. The HD is a great recreational phone, while still allowing me to be connected to my business services. It's great for browsing and using as a controller for my home automation system. Essentially because of the size of the screen (bear in mind the hardware of the two devices is almost identical).
The HD I would be nervous about taking for a night out, or with me to play sport, or when travelling - it's too awkward to handle and keep safe in demanding circumstances, and increases the risk of breakage. Whereas the diamond is an ideal size and easily protectable in harsher environments.
It is a shame that neither phone has a point to attach a lanyard. This is particularly unfortunate for the HD because sometimes handling it, particularly when removing the case, really does not feel safe.

I have to agree. After the Diamond, the Touch HD feels H-U-G-E. I've had the HD for a week and I'm still surprised by the size very time I pick it up. My ideal device is same form factor as Diamond, but with larger full-front screen. Don't need the D-pad. Apart from the marvellous THD screen, I appreciate the longer battery life.

Ha ha, for me the feeling is the oppsite. After Athena's 5 inch screen, Touch HD feels tiny. I would be happier if it is 4.5 inch. It makes all the difference in internet surfing, spreadsheet, word processing, picture viewing, and video watching.
I went from Diamond to HD (still have the Diamond as a backup)
Observations/reasons;
LOVE the look/feel of the HD (I liked my iPhone in this regard as well - just hated far too many aspects of it...) and ultimately I want to get Android onto it....hopefully!!
Diamond always niggled me in that it had a tiny screen so was fiddly for touch/finger control (I avoid stylus operation as much as possible - it's fiddly and annoying). Also that there was no mSD card option/expandabilty. O/S was sluggish and slow compared to the HD (especially TouchFlo - which is noticeably faster on the HD)
Aesthetically - IMO the HD gets it hands down over the diamond (and any other phone out there, including the iPhone!)
The Diamond is handy if you like small phones and aren't very demanding on performance, but otherwise the HD is a better performing tool all round.
Battery life on the HD seems quite comparable with the Diamond - in actual fact possibly slightly better (the Diamond battery life was pretty grim)
Just my thoughts/opinions
The HD is better then the Diamond
Bigger Screen
Responsive Screen
Expandable memory
More Ram
Better Battery Life
All in all the TF3D is alot more quicker and responsive then the Diamond, and currently im using a stock rom, so imagine when there are cooked roms for this.
I would recommend you get this phone
I havent touched my Diamond since i got it
and now im selling my Diamond
i have the both, and i think HD is better than diamond on all point except dimension but it is not a real probleme because you can put hd in your pocket too.
I also have both and I must admit it´s a BIG change... The screen´s great, the battery life much improved and the touch screen a pleasure to use... but it feels much bigger in the hand than the Diamond. I have to agree with AFW the ideal would be Diamond size but without the D Pad but out of the two I´ll be sticking with the HD
Can´t wait to start cooking.... this baby will fly!
Thanks chaps - I will spent the money and get one asap.....

Opinion before devorcing my beloved Touch HD

Ok guys just trying to get opinions out there. Currently using the Touch HD. Came from a Nokia device so I love the speed of symbian compared to Windows. It seems like the time has come for me to figure out if I want to keep the Touch HD or not.
Pro:
I love the big screen.
It looks sleek.
Easy to flashfirmware and tweaking performance is fun.
Con:
Incoming calls is a little laggy. Sometimes calls come in as unknown.
Phone feels a slower than ones I've used before.
No TV-Out.
*Having a keyboard would be a plus. But without it is not a Con*
I'm actually debating getting rid of the Touch HD for either the Xperia X1i/X1a so I would gain a keyboard and overall use would stay the same.
Or I thought about getting the Nokia 5800 tube, so that I gain the TV-Out feature to display gps on my indash and have the feel of symbian again.
Or ultimate would be to get the new n97 which has a large screen and keyboard.
What do you guys think? I think the biggest thing bothering me is the phone feelings a bit laggy compared to my previous nokia phones.
try keyboard in landscape mode man it works very well.
incomoingcall work well to me too.
after using it i dont wanna come back with symbyan anymore
Sorry but you knew it had no keyboard when you got it so if it is a "con" and not a "pro", why did you get it in the first place?
well then I guess I should list it as a neutral thing. I would like a full keyboard, but I'm satisfied with the compact querty at the moment. So good call tboy.
I dunno, going to the X1 isn't going to do much for you other than the physical keyboard. It sounds like love Symbian so maybe just wait for the N97.
I have both Nokia n95 an htc HD, HD is much better! 1 thing above all: HD is fully customizable, and you can improve it with new official roms or with a lot of cooked roms.......
Hello
I have the HD and the Nokia Tube.
The Nokia Tube is crap.
Slow as hell, and the worst GUI i have ever seen.
Flash a few cooked roms first... see if that makes your HD the device you always wanted...
do you recomend any?
I also own a n95 and the hd, and the nokia is no match for the hd in any aspect. Once you get used to the hd big screen and lots of features, you wonder how you could waste your money in the nokia set.
The hd is fairly fast for me, the gps works much better than the n95's. It fully customizable, the battery lasts longer, the rds radio of the hd is much better that the visual radio of the n95 (in Spain the rds system is spread all around the country while the visual radio is scarcely used), there's a lot of sotware available for the hd... in summary, i would't change it.
But each user asks for different features so...that's just my opinion.

You could try SPB Full Keyboard
Symbian UI sux the biggest time ever!!!!
There is no Symbian or Nokia I have ever tried that is nice or fast, the N96 is a piece of s..t! I stompted on the damn thing into pieces, seriously, kept freezing and the menu's are a nightmare, menu's within menus within more menus.... The "cons" you mentioned are nothing compared to any Symbian.
"TV Out" its a gimic function of Samsung and Nokia, the quality of TV Out function is way way below VHS quality making it a whole waste of time IMHO, anyway just my 2 cents in a useless topic.
Perhaps Symbian seems more suited to your needs
I went shopping for a new HTC device yesterday.
I looked at the Diamond, Touch Pro, Xperia X1, G1 and the Touch HD.
I found the Diamond's screen size to adequate, but the lack of storage card baffles me.
The Touch Pro was just to heavy but the keyboard was very useable + storage card.
The Xperia's keyboard felt better, but the weight killed it for me. The screen is also far too small to handle WVGA.
The G1's 16million colurs makes the same difference with the screen as an iPod. HTC really should move to 16M colours asap. The interface was great, but you can tell it is in its infancy. I will be watching Android keenly over the next year.
Then we have the HD :
The screen size makes a huge difference - 3.8" WVGA is the perfect size for this res (2.8" is borderline too small).
The device is the exact same size as the iPhone (I think the box matches Apple's packaging as well...) This fits nicely in the hand and feels very light.
The screen size also helps with finger inputs, even on the standard keyboard!
The device is fast. I found no lag running through the programs, even while leaving 10 open. The 512Mb RAM certainly helps there.
A hardware keyboard for me is a con. When I moved to one (XDA Mini S), I found it strange to get used, but percivered, when I moved back to an onscreen keyboard, I certainly did not miss the physical kb.
After playing with all 5 devices, I have payed up for the HD.
It'll be delivered on Tuesday.

davideuck, believe me!
Thanks for input guys,
I do like the ability to flash new roms as I am trying to keep up with Laurentius26 and the L26 roms. It seems the V7 seems to be pretty responsive. As far as the tube VS touch HD Speed comparison, thanks for the info.
On the TV-Out feature, I would only use it to display GPS on my indash so I can easily get around by getting a decent car mount I guess. I've been keeping up with that thead and haven't found one I liked yet.
Bringing up the point that symbian isn't as customizable friendly I guess it would advantage me to stay with the touch so that I can always flash different roms and see which I like better. And between the Xperia and the Touch HD, thats going to be a hard button keyboard VS big screen.
Now to go read up on some more interesting apps/games to install. Thanks again guys! Keep the input coming if you like! I appreciate it.
My first post here at xda, so forgive me while i get used to it ;-)
the touch hd is quite impressive as allrounder. i'm more than a little jealous of the screen compared to my own omnia.
but omnia is till my personal choise of today; huge internal memore (i currently use 16 gig + 16 gig sdhc) although it's 3.5mm jack is indirect, if does come as adapter in the sales box. it is a bit fatter than the hd though but not too much- 12.5mm. and it has the tv out u mentioned. anyway it is to my taste right now.
if u have the patience for future model i found some interresting ones here:
http://www.gsmarena.com/the_8_megapixel_samsung_i8910_records_hd_video_ready_to_roll-news-776.php
it seems the next generation of omnia. though rumor has it that it'll be running symbian instaid of wm... and by now i have gotten stuck on wm and its flexibillity. i'm not sure that i can go back. still if u look at its specks they doo make my mouth water- heh he.
http://www.gsmarena.com/toshiba_unleashes_the_tg01__the_ubersmartphone_to_rule_them_all-news-768.php
this one is a pure wm platform wich seems to leave even hd trailiang in the dust. but remember that with a screen as big as 4.1 inches u may need to resow your pockets in all shirts and pants. still size matters when using gui's and you hd is already a good example there.
none of them packs a built-in thumpboard though. for that u may need to to go n97, touch pro, xperia, HTC dream or G1. i've no experience with android yet. but as for wm's i hear experia is annoyingly slow, and if u already have trouble with the speed of the HD u may need to stay far away from this one. all of them packs better screenresolutions than omnia, but the benefits of higher resolution without bigger screen on these devices is argueable. on 3.2 inches i don't miss the extra pixels on windows mobile.
a good thing might be if others told about their experiences with various models. my dad for one would never trade in his HD for my omnia. but if i had to buy a new one today i'd still choose it over the others out there.
needs and tastes differ.
a little off toppic- sorry.
does anyone know if if it possible to mod s60-5th the same way as SPB and PointUI does it for wm? my only experience with it is n93 wich i kept as my primary for one and a half years. never thought of costumizing it though. and i've fallen in love with it on wm.
Cheeze,
I have the same problem.
X1 will have the same problem in terms of the lag.
keyboards are good, but you dont need them as much, you need to get use to the touch screen... give it more time...
If you want something just as good as the HD with no Lag, go iphone, but then you drop alot of good things with the HD.
i did at first contemplate selling off the HD and going in for the iphone, but i have used the iphone, and liked it for the whole 2 months i had it before i went to a smaller phone... and then to the HD...
the iphone was basic to what i needed it for, the hd works perfectly...
let me tell you, after 3 months, you will be fine with the hd, but the lag will increase... especially in calls... and if you are like me.. with an ever increaseing phone book addess list.. it doesnt help... due to work, my phone book is now at 500+, and that was after cutting it down due to the financial crises...
in all likelyhood i will go back to the iphone depending on what the next update is in July.. then in august will truely decide....
I to went from the HD to the iphone. I do miss the big screen and badass resolution but after a few weeks and jail breaking i dont even think about the hd or windows mobile for that matter.
Im currently looking to move from my Nokia E90 to The HD. I have never used a HD before so i cannot comment on it, but the Symbian email system is awful which is one of the reasons that im looking to move away from Symbian.
I have looked at the 5800 but it will be a "downgrade" from my E90. Also the N97 does look good but it only has 3 rows with the numbers intergrated into the top "qwerty" row.
That totally puts me off it

Touch HD or Touch Diamond?

I bought a Touch Diamond a few months ago... it's running a Diamond Project rom and upgraded radio and has been an excellent device.
Anyway I just changed carriers from 3 Mobile to Telstra and they gave me a Touch HD.
So now I'm sitting here wondering if I should just keep the Touch Diamond and sell the HD or upgrade the rom on the HD, keep that and sell the Touch Diamond.
It shouldn't be a hard decision. Which one is the better phone?
I prefer the Touch HD: more ram, bigger screen with more resolution, memory card slot, better battery, 3.5 audio connection,...
HD all the way... No question about that
No contest (for me) - take the HD. But for you, you might prefer smaller memory, tiny screen and horrible diamond back that does not lay flat on a surface (but the keyboard is so small you can't type anyway).
Seriously, the HD is fantastic. Screen is amazing, battery life is very good and the size is just right (not too big, not too small).
The only thing I really don't like on the HD (same on the diamond) is the poor camera. It's fine for dead things but the moment you have any movement then goodbye quality !

Nice one. This is something that has always annoyed me with WM & HTC. They are behind other manufacturers when it comes to camera quality. Why is it that HTC release phone after phone with no real improvement in camera? and where is the bloody flash!!!!

I agree. Technically it's possible. I had for a few days an Omnia which was rubbish in virtually all aspects except the rather good camera (the sound also was quite good).
HTC's weak spot does seem to be the camera/video capabilities.
I do use the HD for taking snaps of pages, posters, etc but I've given up trying to photo anything living.
thanks for that...I thought as much. I just wanted to hear from users to confirm. I flashed the HD with Dutty's 2.3 Extreme last night...then noticed he just released 2.4 Extreme. I've downloaded it...it's ready to go onto the HD. By the time I configure it, Dutty will probably have released another three versions though.

is touch hd better than x1?

unhappy x1 owner
Better screen, lighter, better UI.
What are you looking for in the answers?
maybe you want to explain why are you unhappy with x1
browsing this forum will give you all informaton about issues of the Blackstone
you can even find some compartive benchmarks between HD and X1
so, what exactly do you want to know?
is touch hd faster less lag?
does the bigger screen keyboard makes up for the real keyboard of x1?
does the battery last longer?

no
don't think so
? so u mean x1 is better??
no i don't mean that as long as i own a HD and not X1
in some aspects HD is better is some other aspects is X1 that take the lead
for example, i never consider X1 just because it's thikness. i don't need the phisical keyboard because i don't text so much
so better is what is better TO YOU
how about the camera>
Definately Touch HD will be better because of 5MP camera compare to X1 only come with 3MP

nope I dont think so... nearly the same... i compared them before buying my HD and to my mind the X1 is too bullky-to big. (FOR ME! Its my opinion, If you have big pockets, than its no problem!)
But I think you can play games better with yout X1! We dont have hardware buttons!!! :O
But I can read eBooks more comfortable , because the screen is a little bit bigger (but has the same resolution)
The screen makes all the difference, HD got a bigger and easy to use screen, X1 screen is recessed so you might have problems clicking on the screen limits like the X in the corner.
Also the keyboard and hardware keys of the X1 can be easy to use but they might fail after some time of intensive use.

AFAIK, X1 is also manufactured by HTC, but for Sony. I don't recall where I read this, but this is what I have been lead to believe.
For me HD is awesome. Especially after upgrading/changing ROM. Absolutely love the high res, non-recessed screen. My only problem - complete lack of hardware buttons.
And it looks much much better than X1, but that's too subjective...
Internal hardware wise, I don't think it makes much of a difference. I've tried lots of HTC devices (including 200 MHz Omap processer - Charmer), and the only thing that makes a difference is amount of memory so that you can run more applications at the same time without worrying about running out of memory.

that is true, x1 is made by htc
the difference is the software designed by se programmers, some drivers that htc usualy miss, small issues like that
i assume though that there are also some hardware components specificaly requested by se, like metal casing, for instance

X1 better than the HD ?
Personally I don't think so.
If you're someone that texts allot, you'd be happy with the X1 since it has the physical keyboard.
But the HD is lighter, thinner and the TF3D is more user friendly than the standard WM6.1 stuff on the X1.
Though you can change all of that by flashing your device.
The battery of the HD is ok.
I play alot with it and the batterylife can reach like 2 days max.
If I stop playing with it and use it for phoning only, it may reach 3 days.
The screenquality on the HD is the thing that does it for me.
Since its a bigger screen, the experience of watching movies or streaming media is far cooler than you'll ever get on the X1.
Together with the big screen you'll find the 3.5 mm earjack which you can use to plug your favorite audiophone.
Don't know if the X1 has a extention to plug 3.5mm audiophones...
I'd choose for the HD.
X1 is more practical sometimes, but the HD is in my opinion very stylish.
Even more stylish than the Iphone... I think.
Greetings and goodluck

Hmm I've had a few SE phones in recent history. I was very happy with my SE W810i, camera was pretty decent on that.
Upgraded to the K850i and hated the damn thing, especially the camera which while supposed to be 5mp was attrocious. I had so many faults with the model in the end Orange got sick of sending me new ones and upgraded me to the C902. Decent phone but again the camera was nothing special. I personally have found the quality on my HD better than the C902 which is also 5mp. I considered the X1 but have had so many issues with SE of late that i wanted to try something different and i am absolutely loving the HD so far.
touch hd
I have had my HD for severl months now and it is always failed to impress me (aprt from the gorgeous screen) by far the best HTC I have had were the orbit and XDA exec, both good phones. My only problem with it is that it was hiped to buggery when it was released as a super amazing fast all singing all dancing media phone, it isnt at all, it is a business phone, a slick shiny Iphone-esq one but a business phone nonetheless. it could have been so good, its hardware is outpaces game consoles and the iphone for instance. If it wasnt crippled by winmo and the lack of full 3d and video acceleration it would be the shoulders above the rest. I feel let down by HTC and I am not going to buy one again until they can properly optimise there hardware like Apple have done with the Iphone, you have to give it to Apple, they have squeezed every ounce of juice out of that bady they can, you only need to look at the wealth of app. I would sell my HD tomorrow if the Iphone wasnt so locked down and had a bigger screen, iphone next gen here I come...

HTC Touch Pro 2, or HTC Touch HD?

Hey guys new member of the forum i will soon be getting a new phone and it will be either the Touch Pro 2 or the Touch HD. I'm not sure which one to get as i can live without a hardware keyboard which makes the device slimmer and easier to hold, but the question is what is the difference between the 2 phones? are they running the exact same software with the same features etc etc? if they operate exactly the same the HD looks nicer in my opinion, this will be my first time owning a windows mobile, will both phones get the same updates/custom roms. Other peoples opinions on these phones would be a great help, thanks in advance.
Sorry if this is not the correct section to be posting this.
If it was me, I'd maybe hold out for the HTC Leo, the HD's successor
Another thread which is kinda similar regarding people asking what to get after the HD maybe worth a read
thanks for your reply i will have a read of that, the issue is my contract runs out soon and the Leo doesn't yet have a release date and will be getting a new phone the day my contract runs out as i can't get through the day without my phone lol.
Isn't much difference apart from the qwerty keyboard, screen size, D-pad and camera. Generally everything else is similar. Check both the specs and read the wiki for both devices, have a look at the rom forums on both to see whats available.
It would most likely come down what you want, or what your looking for in a device. Basically personal opinion.
TP2 every day in the week.
thanks for the feedback guys. Well i prefer a slightly bigger screen and a slimmer looking phone and find the TP2 to be a little bulky, but if the software is the same this helps a lot as i like the look of the software from the TP2 which will be the same on the HD.

Huge screen, but huge screen means less pixels = less quality. TP2 got a huge advantage when it comes down to screen resolution vs. HD. And the TP2 got a keyboard and 4 hardware buttons you can actually feel.

You're kidding, right? TP2 and HD both have WVGA - you're not seriously telling me that the pixel density on the HD is not high enough? I doubt you could even tell the difference between the two concerning DPI!
And I'd rather have a larger screen than a smaller one - even if the higher DPI would make a difference... What's the use of having a higher DPI on a smaller screen?
Hd is better in music as it has 3.5 mm audio jack which means better sound quality and also hd is higher in price (the only issue is that hd will not get wm6.5 officially from htc ) but i think it will but htc does not announce that to sell alot of the recent devices

I have a Touch HD, although it is in for repairs at the moment, and would consider the TP2 but the lack of a headphone jack is killing me. I live in the US and have not had a chance to play with the TP2. I have AT&T which I am assuming will not have the headphone jack like the Sprint and Verizon (CDMA) model has, Lucky Bastards!!! Anyway, that is what will probably stop me from getting the TP2.
I am sure there will be other options with a headphone jack in the future since HTC has made it clear that most future devices will have them. TP3?? I think they are a little sore from the lashing they took for not putting it in the TP2 which is clearly a great multimedia device. Kida like buying some of the original flat panel tv's that didn't have a TV tuner or speakers. Kinda defeats the purpose.
Well I personally recomend the Touch HD (not only for the reason that I have it and I love it ) when I was choosing my device I was looking for the bigest screen on the market as I like browsing the internet a lot and let me say this BIGGER IS BETTER when we are talking about PPC's nothing can change that also you get a cool design that gets the "WOW" effect from anyone and your pants will not fall to the ground when you are carying it in your pocket. It really depends on the person but for me if I have two phones with almost equal specifications I'll go for the bigger screen even if it is 0,1 inches bigger than the other one.Leo is probably my next device but I heard great things about TOSHIBA's TG01 4.1 inch monster with 1ghz proccessor that's only 10mm thick if you can get your hands on that (it's available in some areas) I would recommend that.
If you are only using one phone I would get the TP2. As I already have the E71 for emails etc I ordered the Touch HD yesterday as a semi tablet.
if it were me, id let my contract run out, continue using the service with your old phone until Leo is released, then upgrade if your carrier runs with the leo, if it doesnt id then upgrade to the most expencive phone they offer then leaving it in its box id flog it on ebay an use the money to buy the leo...
just my thoughts
