Xtrakt (3d game) is amazing - XPERIA X1 General

just use wvgafix3 and the frame rate becomes more than double the default wvga 10-12fps. the games is so much better now
can anyone explain this? i mean vga is only %25 less pixels only but it performs more than %100 more
also i wonder if there is a way to get the game to run at full screen with 400x240 mode (full screen). at this resolution the game will probably run over 50fps

I have my game running at super smooth framerates (feels like 30ish fps) at the full WVGA resolution. All I did was install the Touch Diamond ATI graphics drivers on my Touch-IT v4.5 rom and it boosted my fps tremendously without me having to lower the resolution!!
The Xperia really is a fast little phone. It just needs the right software to make use of it.

where to find the driver ....if u could post the link it'd be nice !

I installed the game, runs really smooth and fast (dont know what fps)
Not useing fix or ati drivers
Lifes good on the x1 these days

wat game is it

I have running itje's custom ROM and am playing the game in its full WVGA glory... It is super fast without lags... and is a pretty great game!!! Hopefully SE will add more games in the final R3 ROm they release...

Can we have some links ???
What about screen shots???

I have R2A, and works in wvga very fast and with no problems.

Yes i found this game in the touch-it 4.0 topic it is in a cab archive install it and i is amazing hope sonyericcson release this game in the release of the news xperia...It is so fast and it has amazing graphics...Where did itje found this amazing game it is a develop by sonyericcson? They could really use this game to make more sell of this amazing phone i mean have you ever seen such a wonderful game?

I played it few times on my X1i, latest oryginal rom from SE, no additional drivers and it's very smooth, no lags at all. Nice game - and it's full version.

weird i just switched to wvga and its doing about 20 fps. i probably had stuff in the background when i tested initially ... not sure ohh well all is good
the cab of the game is here
Aaron J can you post the drivers you used here
also do you think this can run on 400x240 full screen

Hey guys here's the link to the ATI Driver in CAB form. See if it makes any difference for you.
http://www.4shared.com/file/93871170/d711462b/Diamond_Ati_d3d_driver1.html

playing on r2a wvga - perfect perfomance

R3 O2 rom, runs very nicely

a newer ROM (21016.1.6) it runs like perfect in WVGA!!! Amazing stuff by SE..

does this run on other htc devices like HD or diamond.its about time sony does something worthwhile to the rest of the wm scene

I just want to remind you guys, this game was decided to be included with the upcoming R3A ROM.
Do not blame SE or anyone if it doesn't run smooth or good on R1A or R2A ROMs because SE never intended it to be run on those ROMs.
I'm sure the best framerate and performance will be seen with the upcoming R3A rom.

Got PSX games running on my apache!

Every time I think there is absolutely no life left in this poor little phone, it always surprises me. I tried it on a whim after I got it working on my Tilt 2, with no expectation it would work. Ten minutes later I'm playing Final Fantasy Tactics on my phone, and I don't mean it boots up and you have to deal with crippling lag or slowness, it's playable! On 5 frame skip it runs at about 45 FPS with and sound on!
Here is my set-up.
FPSEce 0.10
Omnia D3D Driver
HTC Performance to overclock to 624Mhz
PDAJ'S Clean WM 6.5 Build 21501 ROM (You can find it at PPCgeeks)
Only S2U2 and iContact Avian Edition are running in the background
I've only tested Final Fantasy Tactics due to having limited space on my memory card, but I plan on trying out a few more games. I also heard that disabling the sound can get you quite a few more frames per second, plan on trying that out. If anyone needs either the Omnia D3D Driver or HTC Performance cabs, I'll be more then happy to post them for you. Try it yourself and post the results.
Happy Gaming!
Niceee
That's pretty awesome dude, i would love to get PSX games running on my HTC Tilt 2.
you should see what gran turismo looks like on my expo running at 60fps.

Please do post it here. Is it needed to run FPSce? I Remember my old Ipaq 1940 could run them full speed without any drivers...
I hate how I spent so much money on the HTC Apache back in the day only so it could become a useless pile. I saw that post up there on a successful PSX game on the Apache and I got really excited.
I tried installing all that same stuff (the D3D driver, the overclocking utility, FPSEce) only as for the Apache's ROM, I used a custom ROM I built with PPCKitchen (it couldn't differ much from the 'clean' ROM, because you can hardly add anything to it because of the limited space).
I tried running Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and it didn't run past the "Press Start" screen. I was hoping that since the game is a fairly simple sidescroller, it would run on the Apache, but no luck.
So far (for me) the only emulator I've tried that runs well and plays smooth on the Apache is that PocketNester. The PocketSNES runs about like the DreamSNES for Dreamcast: only runs at an acceptable framerate without sound. I thought it would be better, since the Dreamcast runs at 200mhz and the Apache can be overclocked to 624mhz... Granted I've only tried these three emulators, but those were the three I knew I'd probably get the most use out of.
With this in mind, I figure a gameboy emulator would run perfectly also.

Please share your FpseCE configurations for best performance on the Titl2

Hi!
Anything you can share like ini file or maybe some specific driver you are using etc would be nice.
After seeing FpseCE in the HD2...I was blown away how much faster it is even with my phone OCed to 768Mhz.
Thanks!
Dude are you running the newer At0m d3d driver?
I am using the Energy ROM so I am not sure if it is there already...I know there is a GFX BOOStER option but yes I tried the Atom driver as well and I did not see any difference.
Did you?
Ya definately, FF7 runs at 60fps OC'd to 787mhz with the at0m d3d driver.
Audio is still **** tho and pocketiso doesnt seem to find any of the audio streams to rip and compress... idk how to do it man

psx4droid on DHD performance

Has anyone used psx4droid on their Desire HD? I can't help but notice choppy response and laggy gameplay, although it seemed to run much better on the desire and galaxy S. Any ideas? Has anyone tried?
The emulator runs horribly terrible for its V2 version, framerate runs at 30-40 fps and occasionally dips to 20ish. V1 1.7 runs much better but still the framerate seems to have more room for improvement.

Totally agree! I experience the the same frame drop.
But in my opinion the problem comes from the roms. I tried dozens of roms, they all make my HD slower, I don't know why.
The first rom 1.32 (when I bought the phone) was the best!
It runs great on mine. Have u got anti alias turn on? I found that Rele slows it down.

Where is that setting?? I see nothing about AA in options.
For me it runs quite crap aswell. I was looking at videos of other phones and it runs much better on SGS. Maybe it's not optimized for DHD?
Anyway, Fpsece has been announced and it will be released soon. This is a port of a WM6 PS1 emulator which is extremelly good on WM platform and looking at videos, this will be the one to play PS1 games on Android.
Check it out: http://pocketnow.com/android/legendary-fpsece-playstation-emulator-ported-to-android
When I ran the free / lite version, I actually thought it was somewhat playable ... but then I bought the full version and that seems to run very slow .....
Hopefully when we get the Playstation Suite / Store and Sony's official emulator, things will work fine. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play runs the same Qualcomm CPU / GPU combo as the DHD ....
I also have the same problem, runs very slow.
We won'y have to use psx4droid much longer. A developer has been working on this:
http://pocketnow.com/android/legendary-fpsece-playstation-emulator-ported-to-android
runs pretty well on my DHD, as mentioned earlier turning off anti-aliasing helps alot and overclocking to 1.5ghz helps alot
I've tested this is on FFVII & MGS

Yes thats true, but until the playstation suite is actually released, we have to use an alternative.

[Q] Psx android emulation on Hd2

Hi all.. i want to know if you have found some good hd2 android rom to play with psx emulators... i use fpse
i now use hyperdroidgbx 7 and it seams to be the best in sound emulation and in speed but i want to know if there is out there a better nand rom working faster then this one with emulators...
i play with ff7 and its working very well but sometimes when you start battles the sound slows down..
i tryed sense roms but even if developers says they are fast i allways encounter lags.. i tryed the highest quadrant scores roms but they have problems emulating audio.. dunno why the audio is creepy.. the rom i'm using now have a good linpack score... around 36-45 and a good cpu/2d/3d quadrant score 3800cpu, 274 2d, 405 3d.
now pls make some test and let me know if you have a better rom..

For future reference if youre not posting a ROM, dont post in this forum! Go to Q and A.
Also to answer your question, no rom will dramatically increase psx emulation. The best emulator out there is fpse for psx emulation. If it lags on that app, no rom will reduce lag of a game. ffVii works fine for me on typhoon cm7 and fpse (including the cutscenes with sound.) Also note that it may be the emulator that causes lag or sound glitches, not the rom (emulation is NEVER perfect)

Gaming on the Epic

I feel like a big part of some of us getting the Epic was the fact it had an excellent Gpu and would make a great gaming device. Now that its out and we have our froyo, I think its a good time to start a thread about gaming on our phones. I think we should post vids of games running on our phones and share it with the world so they can see how powerful our phones really are. Im going to start getting a bunch of games and recording it, listing whether im overclocked or not and what rom i was running at the time. Feel free to add you own videos and comments
Heres a few to start off with: I will try to update regularly. Im also open to suggestions
Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus - Midnight rom v5.1 - no overclock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGzkIQZAYoM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOPxQ7UJPl4
Mario 64 running on N64oid - ACS rom(dont remember which one ) - no overclock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3MxuzvZUdY
Zelda 64 OOt running on N64oid - ACS rom(dont remember which one ) - no overclock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN2iTbSfte8
New Vids: 4-10-11
Metal Gear Solid PSX running on Fpse - Midnight rom v5.1 - overclocked to 1.3 ( runs the same at 1 ghz)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7FWnLncQ-c
Need for Speed Shift - Midnight rom v5.1 - overclocked to 1.3

I converted my phone to ext 4, I am able to play perfect dark longer without too many crashes, and goldeneye is smoother at 1.3ghz. still testing between kernels to see which is best..
You can probably use the video option of the shoot me app to record the game directly from your phone. Probably get better vid quality

really.. i was looking for a video capture app. ill check it out. thanks
just tried it.. it works ok.. but the videos arent smooth so you cant really get the full affect of the game
I think the way you are going it now is good, shows how the controls work with the on-screen controls.
ok so F Zero (n64oid) at 0 frame skips with SFR ext 4 and Vision Kernel 1.0 (set at 1.3ghz on demand, performance and 1.4ghz crashes on me) runs really well.
also, Goldeneye is now playable! , still choppy here n there, but much much less than before. it does depend on your rom, I tried a few other goldeneye roms from before. I dont think this site lets me post it up so...
the dump is located in this forum under Xperia Play, be sure to download it. Downloading mine right now, hopefully we can use their PSX emu, games, etc.
Also with Goldeneye and Pdark, the games tend to make the emu crash or become frozen. My kernel didnt like it either so had tons of data corruption I think, just switched back to twlight kernel. If your phone can handle the vision kernel, then use that for gaming..
Goldeneye doesn't really crash for me but it gets REALLY slow after a certain point.. as for psx, I've been using FPSE and it works pretty dam good. I've been playing metal gear solid perfectly.. controls are a little tricky at first though

Even half a year from now, the Epic will still be near the top tier of phone hardware. There are actually games out there that run well ONLY on phones with the Epic's specs. Market reviews will show you that pretty quickly.
