i think im about to give up on this idk wth im doign i read and read and its just frustrating me lol but if anyone wants to help me one more time and please dont tell me to read cause i have im trying to hardspl thats the part i cant get to work any helpers

This guide should be self explanitory .
"How-To Flash the HERALD-USPL-beta3:
Download and extract both files.
Place the extracted Open Touch v6.5 no spb or tl.nbh into the Herald-uspl-beta3/RUU folder.
Move the entire Herald-uspl-beta3 folder to the root of the c:\.
Follow the simple readme file.
Break down of how to flash this rom:
Then follow these steps:
II. How do I flash an NBH file?
a. USPL
Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A4N36HLO
Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.
Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe
Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.
Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.
That's it. Welcome to the flasher's world.

Hmm... try install the .net framework 3.5 on your computer if you don't already have it... that's all I can really think of... or the runtime library files?

There are other steps you must do when you do a hard spl. I will try to find the info and post it in order of the way to do it.

ROM upgrade headaches

Im trying to upgrade my jammin with the latest dopod rom ..Ive got hold of the romupdateutility.exe which bypasses the vendor id but now when i run the .exe it comes up with the error
'ERROR [240] File open'
As anyone got any ideas as to solve this problem?
Ive also tried the awizard tool but my jammin never seems to reset?
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks in advance
Ive managed to get the awizard tool to work and does reset the jammin but when i go then to install the dopod rom update in bootloader mode it comes up with ivalid provider id error ...... :? :? :? :?
Download and install WinRAR
Right click on the ROM you downloaded,
Extract the files to one folder.
In this folder, you will find 2 folders. You need to copy the files from both folders into one folder only.
Replace the RomUpdateUtility.exe as needed.
Double click on it and go.

Brilliant thanks alot thats where i was going wrong i wernt extracting both folders into the 1 ...Updating now
Thanks alot been pulling me hair out all day
You should expect the process to pause at 80% and 95%. Fear not, it will run its couse to 100%.
The new ROM is a lot faster. Try starting and stopping Blutooth. You'll notice the change in speed.
hmmm seem to have a problem where it stops at 46% and comes up with communication error 302 and wont go no further telling me to try a recovery :?

Yes, you'll take them all and put in one folder.
You'll replace the utility from the ROM with the one in my link above.
It doesn't matter what the folder is called.
ok mate yea done that and its still doing the same hopefully ill figure it out

Where can I get RUUpdater

I'm so sorry about this. I really have spent over an hour searching and Googling and reading the Wiki but I just can't seem to find this simple thing.
My O2 XDA Orbit is dead so I thought I'd try one last attempt to rescue it by re-flashing the factory ROM (WM5). I found this thread via the wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306904 and am following the instructions for bricked devices. I downloaded the O2 Orbit WWE Wm5 factory rom from rapidshare, I have my device in the bootloader and it shows "USB" in the bottom left and the PC reacted and recognised the device when I plugged it in (but doesn't see it in Activesync).
The step I'm stuck on is that Meschle's instructions say "flash factory rom. (run rom executable or RUU updater from pc)". The rom is an nbh file so I suppose I need the RUU updater for PC. Where do I get this from? I just can't find it.

dude if you downloaded the file the ROM you are talking about then you got ur self sorted - the package u have has the RUU or ROM Update Utility
when u go to bootloader, plug ur ppc to the pc and when u see the usb sign in the ppc screen just start the package u got from rapidshare it will do everything auto!!
let us know how you get on?
best luck with your 'surgery' it will be fine just dont worry
Maybe he downloaded simply a ROM file and not the complete package as usual. Download one of Meschle's or Tom's ROMs for example and delete the .nbh file inside the folder and replace it with yours.

true - Download any rom and delete the .nbh file inside the folder and replace it with yours. if u have ur rom on *.exe u can extract the ruu using winrar by right clicking and following the extraction!!
Direct download - a RUU
http://www.zshare.net/download/657626275df642/
this is a rom update utility - i got it from my files its only the ruu no rom is included so add ur *.nbh file to the extraction folder
BTW why dont u get artemis touch 3.01 rom its the best

SPV2000 to WM5 or WM6

Hi all,
I'm probably being really stupid but i'm going round in circles trying to upgrade an SPV2000 to WM5 or 6. Every flash i've tried reports a country or hardware missmatch. Can anyone supply a flash that will work?
Many thanks in anticipation.
Bryan
look at my signature click the WIKI link and read
or download the archive i attached, extract it to folder on your pc, get the nk.nbf from the rom you want to flash and copy it to the folder in which you are extracted my archive, then put your device in bootloader mode and run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe

Alternative to HyperCore?

Alternative to hypercore or another guide alternative to ivan's?
I much appreciate the effort he has put into his guide and it has helped a bit to get an idea of what goes where but the step by step process must be missing numerous steps...
Mainly I'm curious why when buildos is creating an os.nb file it gives me an error that the os.nb file is missing from hypercore\build\rom... I'm trying to create it from sys/oem why does it need it to exist already...?
Following the guides there were several spots where step a didn't lead to step b,
any suggestions to alternatives? Where'd you learn from before these guides were made?
Edit; Also... 64bit compatability? :/
Thanks for any help;
Edit2; Another issue I ran into is the guide advises to copy ifles to Working_Folder but that folder does not exist for me,
It does however in his easycook kitchen... Is that merely the folder structure preferred by ivan or was hypercore supposed to result in me having a working_folder?
For now I just pasted OEM and Sys into workingfolder from easykitchen to change package options but ... Kinda lost >_<
edit3; also it seems that my OEM folders just end up being tons of folders like "btooth.dll" or whatever...When extracting OEMAPPS folders are they supposed to bare any resemblance to the OEM folders found in the justMe easy kitchen? Cause they sure don't ...
Alternative??
I am not a pro cook but reading info/instructions seemed pretty simple and plain but application process is really confusing.
I have 32bit XP I followed the instuctions step by step, extraction didn't work for me but solved with first .nbh to .nb extraction tool than the .nb extraction command tool but the command doesn't start the builder. did it by duble clicking or going back to step 1(dump rom) and getting it done. final products are .nbh file created with dutty htc rom tool. flashing always failed corrupted file!! I use offical T-mobil rom and only removed the useless pictures, ringers, help files(never used), media player, transcriber, entertainment(games), netCF, adobe reader and page pool set to 4,6 and 8 all failed to flash (hardSPL for v 4.26)
Have unsuccesfull results with holly's kitchen default sys and oem folders. I don't get this may be i'm moving something i'm not supposed to
can somebody post "absolutely not to remove" or "OK to remove" list to compare mine??
appreciated any reply
god bless all cooks.

[help]Leo_CustomRUU

i downloaded this file Leo_CustomRUU.zip for use rom cook by sync with computer
but i can't extract this file
it's denie.
i turn off all of protection (firewall, antivirus)
anyone see it ? help me plz.
or have other solution to update rom by sync
thanks
sorry my english isn't good
did you turn off antivirus before or after you downloaded the file? Some AV software disable customruu, so even if you turn off AV it still wont run.
Try turning off AV, and download customruu again.
Somewhere on the forum I read that the best thing you can do is download an official htc ROM upgrade (from htc*com with your s/n), download the file to your computer. Then open the RUU file with WinRAR and you'll see like 10-15 files in there. What you need to do is extract those files to a new folder and replace the ruu_signed.nbh (official htc ROM) with the desired Custom ROM and of course rename your ROM to ruu_signed.nbh. Now start RUU.exe and follow the steps. I read that most custom ruu's didn't completely clean the internal storage so maybe this will help. Goodluck!
