important and fantastic
Dear ALL!!
As our senior member wrote earlyer,it is a truly amazing app.
Besides my problem,(happen to me) the program is working in EU or other modern countrys.Dubai is back in time with 20years in the communication yet.
The fantastic thing in Fring is that you belive it or not>> you don t need a sim card in your phone to use it!!
I advise you gyus to look at the youtube or google for the Fring videos!!You can be pretty surprised with the outcome!
Well,you def. need a strong wifi connection.!!!With 3G I don t guarantee full satysfaction!
Don t forget the phone specific download. On the Fring site, you need to find your own download cab.!

Download from my mirror or else select anyother htc devices ( i.e diamond ).

hmmm, just tried it, but it isn't very finger friendly... and no option to hide offline contacts....... it's got potential, but lacks user friendlyness

I just gave it another try too - and it still has the same annoying alert sound when receiving a chat msg! I can't find anyway to disable or change it other than muting my sound altogether with. If there was an option to change or disable the sound I might use it.

Skype or one of the others?
Thanks for the post.
So which is best and cheapest if I want to call
my folks thru fring to their cell phone, (but not smartphone): skype? Where can I find a comparison
of pros and cons between the different voice data internet systems? (I have a full data plan thru T-mobile, and use a Trinity wm5.)

is there a way to use fring with 3g WAP access?
in other words, for port 8080 only?

Screenshots?
Doesnt it work over GPRS? 3G? or WAP?... so it only works on wireless or while connected via activesync? O_O

starnge but happy
Heyyyahh All!
so many question about FRING.Why noone take a sneek wiev on youtube,or google, but the best is the Fring website.Planty answers, and even more pics films e.t.c are there.
When I met with this program first,I needed a free or at least cheap communication in Dubai!sorry FROM Dubai!Back to EU!
On 3G ,it works badly if you call your Mom!On wifi it needs a good signal.GPRS sometimes ok,but most of the week signals are just fine for chat!
The best option is to configure the SIP client. If you have voipbuster,it is easy!Check out the data on theyer website, and you can see what country is free to call?!!!!On the otherhand it is always free from computer 2 computer!!Or from Fring to another Fring user!
There is no cheaper tan FREE!!!!!
The annoying beep is there in the msg client. With the system sounds and noticication you can fine tune it.It is visible with HTC and some fresh Rom s !!
It is the IM client sounds in the notification setup. In the system setup tabell!
The connection is buffling stable on wifi, and it was specialy fantastic at the airports!!!Good to say helo I m alive for free!!The option to chat in the same time wit 6 different chat client is just great.
well: look at the website, and learn as I did.Find som wifi and Fring away!!!

You right, but as u probably know, etisalat in UAE. is just another fu..ng stupid company, who belives in fate, and the kingdom of communication!!
Well there are a number of softwares what u can use to go on any website in the world.!
Not proxy servers,but others!
just a few>> ghost surf, hotspot shild, ultra surf...This is a small list of softwares,u can use during sign up on the Fring site!!
I do,and work fantastic. After the sign up procedure it will work on your phone!
It is truly a pain in the a.... how etisalat try to control the web.But u know,it is uncontrollable, and with one of the above mentioned software,u can browse anything!!ANYTHING!!!
P.S the ultrasurf programm is attached. It is a good start for invisible browsing!HAVE FUN

Please don t forget>>>> the u94 program works only on explorer. Not on mozzilla!!
So u can open now the Fring with explorer. After u unzipped the program u94,and setup is ok,please give a few seconds for bild up the vpn connection.Don t let the automatic site to come and load fully. It is not important.A Padlock appears on the lower left corner on your desktop,if the MEDICINE is ready to use.U can use for many other sites. If u need some hard sites,it isn t the strongest encryption. So it doesn t work for all sites, but many!!

Video chat over MSN Messenger

Is there a way to use videochat over wireless connection from Universal like from desktop computer? The O2 ROM has MSN Messanger but this doesn't support that feature.
Thanks.

Messaging clients on Windows Mobile aren't great. MSN is a battery hog. Agile Messenger is featureless. You'd think there'd be a great one to support this video conferencing feature by now. It'll happen.
I hope so. Video call is supported via GPRS/3G (way expensive), but not via tcpip.

Actualy via MSN Messenger, surely it would just be GPRS/3G data, not the video call facility being used?

I'd prefer MSN Messenger video via GPRS/3G data and via wifi as well. Video call is also ridiculously costly.
More Camera Function for your buck
As indicated here, and restated here to reduce double up....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=227487#227487
Any programmers out there? Gurus, god like creatures, avatars, superheros, and supreme beings..... PLEASE can any of you develop a program to allow us to get more functionality out of the camera:
1. As indicated, as a security camera
2. Instant Messenger or alternative instant chat by camera over WIFI rather than needing a video call
3. Perhaps even, maybe possibly, enable the camera flashlight also.....
4. Remote control operation from PC
5. Remote control operation over the web!!
I'll tip in some bucks for it and I am sure given the number of forums on this, that others will also.
Alas, mine is the JJ rather than Wizard, but I think many and all would like some additional apps and functions out of the cameras.

VoIP Compatible Dialer ( SIP ) with TyTn?

Hello,
I've been using the TyTn for a few months now and I still haven't found a good quality SIP compatible Dialer...
Of course i've tried all the well known voip applications ( SJPhone, Skype and even Bewip etc. ) but none of them come close to a good replacement of the default TyTn dialer.
Actually I though bewip would do the trick as it integrates well with the contacts but quality sucks, I have to use the headset to have acceptable quality call...
I just wanted to know if any of you were using their TyTn as a VoIP device over WiFi and been satified with their software...
Thanks
Not SIP, bux IAX...I travel a lot and use VoIP in airport lounges etc. SIP usually does not get me through the local firewall. IAX protocol is much better and smarter in that regard, so I would recommend you to look at it if you like: http://www.voipsurfer.net/, around 25 euros and a simple interface.

Can u tell me ur Sjphone settings? I got an account with VoipBuster for SJPhone but when i try it 2 use it in my TYTN, I always get a registratio error message... Thank you!
Usually when the internet access is "locked" I redirect all the trafic through an openvpn server that runs on port 443...
The problems with voipsurfer and SJPhone is that they aren't replacement dialers. You don't have access to the Phonebook. If you want a good quality call, you absolutely need a headset ( you can't use them as a phone ).
I just wonder why there is no such software on the Windows Mobile plateform : The lateste nokia/sony-erricson etc. handset features well integrated VoIP solutions...

Anyone know of voip software that works with a bluetooth headset and mic (R35), as my wired headset is broken (I don't like it anyway as the buds are too big for my ears), and SJPhone doesn't seem to work with it (I hear no sound, nobody hears me).
AGEPHONE
it was an never ending story for me untill i found agephone. http://www.ageet.com/us/agephone/index.htm
you can try it with - there is a shareware version with that you can do calls for one minute, so you are able to check out the bluetooth compability.
STUN Support is given here too!

I would appreciate it if you could help me with configuration settings for free world dialup, or point me to comprehensive documentation. I have completely failed to make the correct settings using the support settings on the ageet site, also from the fwd help. The problem is that I don't understand which information to add in the configuration screens, as the labels to the forms are unfamiliar to me and do not seem to equate to the account and server information which fwd provide.
I would like to use STUN.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

One last call before abandonning.
I have very few of the problems most people associate with the tytn. No screen issues, no problems with skipping under a2dp, nada.
apart from one....
I cannot find a functional voip program using either the handset mic and speaker, or a bluetooth headset. I cannot use the wired headset.
Somebody recommended agephone but I am completely unable to configure the phone to owrk with free world dialup.
Can anybody recommend a suitable solution, or help me configure agephone?
I am using SJPhone gladly with success.
I just would like to have video support.
Any SIP client with video support ?

Do you know if it works with generic SIP server/proxy ?

Without the wired headset? It doesn't work even close to acceptably with the speaker and mic, for me, and I can't get it to work at all with a bluetooth headset.
hi trentend,
SJphone works with my mono bluetooth headset if I use the patch supplied by cybertron at following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=278778
try it...
now, I only need video support. real video SIP support.
I tried Wengophone before worked good with my S200 now that i've got an vario II i'm gonna try and look if it's still as good.
Go to wengophone.com and look under download tab.
think this is one of the better ones.

Sip / Voip in USA????

Hey all,
I was trying to find some information on Sip protocol in the US. I have been playing around with the WM6 Roms and would like to try the internet calling feature. For the people in the US:
- what provider do you use?
- Is it a plan (like Vonage) or per call? I know I there is a french company Wengo.
Thanks in advance.
Try voipdiscount.
Gilko
Why - did you manage to get voipdiscount working with your trinity WM6?
What ROM - what wettings - tell tell!
VOIP in USA
Hi guys.
I´ve doing VOIP on pda´s for 2 years and this is what I´ve been using:
SJphone and credits from Voipcheap, voipbuster,Voipstunt,(I pay $12 or $13 every 3 months for unlimited calls to regular phones)this software is pretty easy to use and it has a nice phonebook.I´m attaching the software and the profile for Voipcheap which is the cheapest way for me to call my family in Spain and friends in Europe, there are many free destinations,if you go to those websites and compare the prices.
I believe there´s also a good deal with Skype and Voipcheap(you pay a fee and get unlimited phonecalls for a year)like I said go there and compare.
I know it would be nice if you can set up your phone and WM6 for VOIP with the software that comes with it.
The first file is the profile that you should copy and paste in the profile folder of the SJphone app once it´s installed.
I hope I could help you.If you need some help just let me know.
See ya.
HTC P3600 Black
-Opera.
-Sk Tools.
-SJ Phone.
-Tweaks2k2.NET.
-Skype.

-WIFIFOFum.
-PocketRAR.
Thanks DTA1974. I am interested in seeing how this funtions on WM6.
Amazing little device the trinity is.
VOIP in US and Around the World
I agree with you, the VOIPCHEAP or VOIPBuster, or VOIPSTUNT is great, but you dont get a phone number...but here is the trick. Setup an account on one of these services and you dont have to pay anything to make US Calls mobile or landline. When you setup this account make sure your username is not so many characters (keep it within 8 characters) Then...Go to www.IPKALL.com and get a WAshington State number ..its free and when you get to the account, use the following:
SIP Number: Use your Account Sign In for VOIPBuster or whatever...(the 8 or less charater one)
SIP Address: sip.voipbuster.com or sip.voipcheap.com or sip.voipstunt.com (whichever you signed up for)
Email: Use your email address
Password: setup a 4 character password for logging into changing these settings... You will recieve an email with your new Number
Wait 60 min and then that number will be forwarded to your new SIP account!!! also if you wanna setup voipbuster on your Phone, just use config tool and use the same settings as above:
SIP Number: Use your Account Sign In for VOIPBuster or whatever...(the 8 or less charater one)
SIP Address: sip.voipbuster.com or sip.voipcheap.com or sip.voipstunt.com (whichever you signed up for)
It will work. I been using it for a long time.
I really want to use the integrated WM6 VoIP software. this way when I'm at home, the phone connectes to my Wifi and automatically the calls go throught VoIP. I know my settings are OK - as I managed to make one successful call. The rest of the time something is stopping sound coming to the speaker. I can be heard but cannot hear - completely dead. Strange thing - whenever I make a call, there is a long beep. There is SOMETHING cutting off the redirection of VoIP sound to my phone - perhaps the file from HTC which sets up the network settings for my phone network in France. Any ideas on how to solve this welcome. apart from that I have SJphone working, too, but not what I wanted. Thanks dta1974.
VOIP 4 FREE means FREE 0.00 <--<
Never ever ever pay. free means free. I have played around with voipbuster and and voipstunt both are stupid they let you call for free for awhile then cut you off and make you pay. The ipkall gives you a free inbound phone number for FREE all the time, if you sign up for another account on voipbuster then switch users on ipkall it starts working again both was in and out. all we need is one of you good script/program writters to write us a program that goes out and signs us up using another user account every day and also logs us into ipkall and updates the info to match the new user name and we will get everything for free all the time, that is until the bastards find out what we are doing. It will work so please write me one because until then I will have to manually create a new user each day. Oh unless someone knows of a FREE and I mean FREE SIP provider!!!

VOIP software...Whats the latest now?

hello evryone,
sorry if this has been mentioned many times.
i have my beloved HTC TD, with shine 2.4 Full and Radio 05.
i am pleased with it , only missing part is to be able to use VOIP/Sip Calls.
i have been browsing this forums for many pages, and there are many unsolved and unfinished threads about the voip problem in HTC TD.
1. SJphone
2. Sip config tool
3. hidden sip manager
4. wm61voip.cab
i have tryed all, and i havent had luck yet to be able to use my voipbuster account on my phone..
My last phone was a nokia n95, symbian, was soo easy to setup voip and make quality calls, please dont tell me that a windows mobile is that hard to enable sip calls
so has anyone a define working solution for voip/sip on HTC TD? or is this half dead topic for now?
thanx
Sonic
Hi Sonic,
I have finally managed to make VOIP possible to work on my TouchD, I dont exactly remember the actual post but I will say that all the credit goes to the XDA Developer forum who has got some decent people eager to help.
Basically my problem was the TomTom's GPS com port was getting engage whenever VOIP was enabled, but finally solved the problem.
Procedure and necessary files attached (You have to only download Resco Explorer)(http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/default.asp)
Let me know please.

Hi Sonic,
I'm using SJPhone without any trouble with a Justvoip account (another Finarea voip, like VoipBuster).
I give you how I did the configuration for it:
On General, in name you put VoipBuster, Type SIP Proxy
Iniatialization: mark all in account and password
SIP Proxy: Proxy domain: sip.voipbuster.com, port 5060; User domain (your username). Mark Register with proxy and Proxy is strict outbound
on the last tab (stun) put in server address: stun.voipbuster.com with port 3478
And that's all. You need to have credit in your voipbuster account. You must put the password in the 1st time use in your SJPhone.
Cheers,
Gonzalo

only problem is the
12. Start > Setting > Today > Items TAB > TICK-ON "Internet Calling"
my today screen doesnt show any of those extra item i can add. only touchflow 3d. and call history and calender. is it because the shine 2.4 is limited to show morE? or how can i add more on today screen.
thanx
okey i turned off the tf3d and then i was able to see the voip: no service.,
it keeps saying no service. hmm. i am on 3g. can i force it connect somehow?
Sonic
hmm okey here is somethig funny,
i started opera to force my phone to use 3g data., and voila, the internetcalls: sip said available. like it logged into it. then i click on it and it said selected.
then i choose contact and tryed to call, it gave me error:
cannot complete the call. the signal may be unavailbe or the phone number may not be valid please try again.
i have the +45andphonenumber when i call.
hmm
Sonic
p.s i can definetly see that the GPS is completly broken now. it cant catch anything.
its a lost cause really. i have been reading about it.
and its too much hassle, unfortunatly. and it also says that when installing wm6voip it wil mess up the gps. and i need the gps so.,
im gonna skip voip on htc for now. untill maybe a proper solution comes out.
i might try SJpone with wifi sometime. but im gonna uninstall all the voip drivers now and hope that i can get my gps running,
thanx for the help Sidd. i appericiate it.

Hi Sonic,
That is such a shame as you have already decided to quit VOIP on your device.
If you follow the instructions as it is then there is no doubt that it wouldn't work, as I have HARD-Reseted my Diamond 4 times since I have got this procedure and everytime I am going through the same procedure and everytime VOIP & TomTom GPS really works.
And yes on 3G & HSDPA connection as well as WiFi (obviously Wifi is much faster & clearer all the time)
For the issue of TODAY entry you have to use the application "2nd Today" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401907)(I can't send you the screenshot as my Diamond is off for replacement for the bloody short battery life)
Actually 2nd Today will change one of the soft key on the main/Home Tf3D screen to your defined word e.g. VOIP, once you click that soft button, the TF3D will hide and you would see your normal Today screen, on this screen you have another Soft Button to go back to TF3D. Simple
For the issue of making a call some VOIP providers indicate to attach a "9" before the number to let the provider understand that you are calling from a handheld device not from PC (e.g. actual number 555666333, Dialing number from handheld 9555666333), check your VOIP provider thay must say something regarding this.
Anyway GoodLuck

Sid

Tested. Works a treat.
It's just that sometimes, it doesn't detect when I get connected to the wifi, I have to turn internet call off and then reset it on 'whenever available' for it to sense that the phone is connected to the internet.

Hi OS-ZloyMuh,
Thanks so much for that but I have one question, have you made this CAB according to the procedure I have posted earlier like 1,2,then 3 overwrite?
Please explain as it could be a big help.
Regards
Sid

I have VOIP running on my Diamond from day one while using GPS in Ozi, TomTom, TrackMe and other software as you can see from attached Today screen also VOIP is active. The trick is that you need to kill one file after installing VOIP. This file DNSapi.dll is preventing you to use your GPS. After deleting it and soft reset it will create automatically a new DNSapi.dll and all will be well.
Do the following after you have VOIP installed and working. (and your GPS is killed)
In your Today screen set Internet calling OFF
Soft reset
Use file explorer or Total Commander to delete DNSapi.dll
Soft reset
Switch Internet Calling ON
Ready.
Finally! GPS stays working! Howeverrrrrrrrr... Unlike the other version of the VoIP cab I used, this one let's the sound go over the EXTERNAL speaker... and that sucks balls... (Sorry for my choice of words ) Everyone can hear what I hear...
In other words... How do I fix this? VoIP over the internal speaker AND let GPS work...
I seem to be having problems calling mobiles... Everything else works fine, including GPS...
Can I change something in the dialplan to make it work? if so, what?

You have to keep the Today Voip plugin as "Available", you have to only click and "Selected" it once you have to make a VOIP call.
In the situation of "Available" you will still be able to receive the VOIP & normal calls.
In other word, if you will select the voip then you can not use the normal phone.
So keep it on "Available".

Yes this is the problem and I think there is no solution for that untill unless you try to use a Bluetooth headset (I haven't tried this idea by myself).
Let me know if you try this option.

Sorry, my bad, I didn't explain very well... I understand what you've said above, and of course I only use 'selected' while I want to make a voip call, but when in that state I am unable to make voip calls to mobiles... I get an error telling me the number may be invalid

VOIP-SIP

I have my my voip account working on fring everything is great including the call quality 3g/wifi. I like some of the features of the other voip/sip clients and have downloaded everyone from the market (yes everyone) the problem is call quality is really bad enem over wifi and 3g forget about it. Anyone have same issue or setting that work great on anyother app.
3cx
sorry, i can't answer your question, but have you been able to get the 3cx app to work? It is supposedly a good one but has been in/out of the market. what voip provider do you use? btw
This is the only one I cant get to work. I use Nextiva for VOIP
this weekend ill give some input on various sip clients and how they register to both viatalk and various cisco devices (cucm, cme, etc).
