The Storage Post - Wing, P4350 General

After reading this post:

I thought to myself, what would I do if I had a 4gb storage card? 8? 16? 32?
I have a 2gb micro sd card, and all that's on it is ringtones, a few family guy episodes, and some music.
So! What do you use your sd card for? Have you filled it? Post your interests and how much space you have left!
Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469522
Space left on SD card after cleanup: 1.8 GB.

Atm I have a 1gb micro sd card with 584 mb left I don't have much music about 4 or 5 songs because I carry a zune so my phone isn't really used for music same goes for videos unless im streaming them. What my card is mainly used for is to store all my applications for my phone pictures mainly anything for my phone goes on it. I'm looking to upgrade soon because im becoming really fascinated with installed thousands of apps so i'll probably splurg and get an 4gb sdhc.

MicroSD format question.

I currently have a 2GB MicroSD card with a GPS program loaded on it. The card was provided to me by the manufacturer. I prefer not to constantly switch the card out to put in a 6GB one that holds music, movies, photos, etc...
I tried to simply copy the contents of the GPS card to my new 6GB one and when I start the program I get a hardwareID error.
I figure it has something to do with the volume serial number or possibly the mbr/disk signature, but not sure. Anyone know of any utilities that can assign the volume number? additionally anyone have any ideas of what the software could be checking against on the hardware?
I'm not in anyway trying to cheat on licensing, it is just purely an inconvenience.
micro sd
I think the max size is 4Gb
I have the 6GB card working fine on the tilt.
Of course anything past 2GB has to be formatted FAT32, so the 2GB is FAT, while the 6GB card is FAT32, but other than that, it works fine for storing music, documents, videos, etc, just not for my GPS program that seems to be locked to that particular 2GB microsd card.
That's the exact reason I won't buy any GPS prog from a vendor that locks it to a particular memory card.
Can a sd card be partitioned ?
If so set up a 2 gig fat 16 and a 4 gig fat 32!
I don't know if it can be done or if it will work.

With a little trickery they can be partitioned in XP/Vista using diskpart, etc., but they won't be visible to WM5/6 then.
Kinda useless if you want it to work with your Kaiser
It could be a bad flash card (either one). Try copying folders one at a time from the 2GB to the 6GB card, instead of all at once. Do the file transfer on a desktop PC, as WM6 might choke when doing large file transfers between FAT and FAT32 (not that its a known bug, but hey, its Windows...).

8 gb memory card???

hey ya'll...
considering purchasing an 8gb memory card for my htc herald, have any of you tried this sucessfully??? the storage memory for the internal memory is not that great as you know and even things that you store in the memory card take up shortcut room in memory...what do you think?? are any of you running the phone on 4 GB memory stick? thanks ...
I have no problems running a cheap 8gb micro-sd from a no-name brand in my HTC P4350,
However, mine does feel a bit slower (yes its possible), since the upgrade from a 2gb card.
Ive been using a 8GB for about 6 months now and havent had ANYproblems with it. I actually had more problems with my old 1GB. It runs perfect!
i have the 8 gb card from amazon and i used it in my shadow and now my wing, its awesome, i keep all my phone supplies there and music, movies, vids, ebooks...keeps on going, lol its worth it, will be looking into the 16 gb soon just to be able to have an even bigger collection for on the go
I've got an 8gig Sandisk SDHC in my wing. No worries at all.
I've got an 8gig Sandisk SDHC in my HTC P4350. And it work´s nice with movies and music.
i've been using a 8gb card from kingston, don't pack it too full or else your phone will lag, i use it for mostly music and i find that when i fill it up all the way it gets a little corrupted
looking @ buy.com for the 16gb cards, 40 bucks...just needs to drop a little moer....
i got a sandisk 8gb loaded with movies, mp3s, ebooks basically everything and it runs smooth
yep..8gb is fine. slower than my 4gb, but not too bad

now using 16gb, no lag. works great
ok..sorry for disturbing the hype, but I need to post this:
I upgraded from 1 to 2 GB and now to 8gb..since then I encoutered issues:
First I copy and pasted everything from my 2gb card onto my 8gb SDHC class 2 card and everything run smoothly..but after some days I realised that all my pivtures I took were gone..than I saw that all folder were weired named--re-named...BUT it changed again and besides that the pixx were gone, all run ok again..
but now..since Yesterday..it is the same..folders re-named..pixx gone and my display says please insert storage-card, but it is included AND I can see the content via file explorer or active sync...its the same with the 2gb card..displays shows the "please insert screen" but I can access via onboard file explorer (fyi all folders are ok..not renamed on the 2gb card)
My idea is, that my simply copy and paste from 2gb to 8gb card was not the proper way to do it..or??
Can someone suggest how to manage this? I have no card reader and I havent found a way to format the 8gb card..to do the copy paste or whatever again..
Any ideas are appreciated!
I have 8, 8gb cards filled and use everyone of them and no problem at all
Did you try right-clicking on the storage card and re-formating it to deault thats what i had to do when i had that problem and havent had a problem since if that doesnt work then you will need to find a cheap usb card reader online....... and if that doesnt help let me know and i might have another solution to help you re-format it
hey phaze, right click within active sync does not allow "format" ..so i tought as well of the card reader thing..or where could I be able to use right click-format option?
do sdhc is correct to use for htc 4350? I hear dform mycard supplier that only sd is usable? so is that my mistake?

[Q] Second SD Card

Hi - I'm in the market for the Droid 2 (Global) and have a question after reading a great deal about it. It comes with an 8GB SD memory card. In the section of the manual that talks about putting the phone together (battery, etc), it mentions a slot for an SD memory card. Since there isn't an 8GB card in that slot, it makes me believe I can put another card in there. Is that true? I'd like to use this phone for movies and music while on planes but 8GB isn't really enough except for music.
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know (I have the Droid 2 [not global]) and there is only one SD card slot. The 8GB sdcard that comes with it uses that one up. That sdcard slot will allow for up to a 32GB sdcard for storage, though. So if you were to purchase a 32GB or 16GB micro SD card you could get the storage you want.

Best SD Card, and Internal vs. External

Looking for an SD card for my phone. XT1563, 6.0.1, 16gb
Really all I want to store on it is Spotify offline music and photos. This Article seems to recommend the Samsung cards over SanDisk, while this thread, seems to favour the SanDisk.
Also, with regards to formatting the card - it seems like internal is still pretty buggy. Given that I currently have ~8gb used including my photos and music, would I be better off with external storage?

SD Card speed compatibility

So I just ordered by G6 and need to buy an sd card for it.
Is it worth buying a really fast SD card like this one:
Lexar Professional 64 GB Class 10 High Performance 1000x microSDXC
(cant post links so just put that into google)
Also I just want it to hold all my photos, videos and music. Dont need it to hold apps so will that work straight out the box or will I have to format things etc???
Thanks
The card will work fine out of the box (phone may want to format it first time if it already isnt, but not a big deal). The speed will make difference if transferring to and from a computer.
