I sell the connectors on ebay - unless you are fairly confident with a soldering iron I'd get a mobile phone repair shop to do it for you. You may also have damaged other componants on the board when the socket was pushed up.

XDA II Damaged connection slot
Hi all,
I had the same problem with my XDA II, sent it for repair and it did exactly the same shortly afterwards, i bought a new battery and charged each one alternatively, but found problems syncronising and eventually gave up.
I have recently bought (my little gem) Xda Orbit, after many months examining what was on offer, I love it its is everything i expected and just a little more. Purchased a 2 Gig memory card and installed copilot on so i have sat nav and all my tunes. needless to say i have a spare Xda II up for offer for spares and such should anyone want to get in touch with me.
there is the Cradle and power charger, 2 batteries and it works well just as long as you dont want to connect it to your pc, anyway im new to this site, would be pleased if someone could point me in the right direction for Orbits here and please feel free to contact me, even if just for a chat and introduction. need to get established here.
cheers all, have fun and hopefully speak soon

screen just shows lines

anyone know how/where to get an xda mini II repaired? i'm in italy, but i can careless where it has to go. I'm at the point where i would rather just sell the device for it's workable parts (if there are any)...Today the screen has done a myraid of interesting things...anywhere from blank to thousands of vertical lines....ugh...
ohh yeah...warranty is void....or is time to just move on?
ok...no answers so i thought i would add some images ...anyone seen this before?
Mate i had a similar **** up a while back ...I did a HR and it worked fine..for me it was caused by a Overclocking software [Dnt want to Name it ]
If this dnt work try the Batt out and back in trick
Call ur Local service Center...
mine looks exactly teh same! but it happened after i tried to replace my housing, i screwed up the little gold prongs where the ribbon connector from the lcd plugs in...****! any ideas on how to fix? im the us so service center isnt really an option, and id ont want to send it off.
hi i had the same problem with my magicians, after i changed the housing. i found the problem with my device was that i had not plugged the screen back in properly. all i did was to ensure that it was pushed in properly before i clipped it back in
Menappi -
I had the exact same issue. I reopened the casing WITHOUT disconnecting any cables. I flipped the screen's ribbon black lock up, while maintaining pressure on the ribbon so that it does not pop out. When the black lock lifted, the preasure of my finger moved the ribbon further in . I pushed the black lock down, reassembled the device and ... PRESTO!! the screen works perfectly... and chumps on the bard advised to buy a new screen!!
Good luck
Hi All,
seems, you have problem somewhere in display connector. However, sometimes I see similar picture on physically broken displays, let's imagine, you were careful ad didn't use a hammer during housing replacement.
There are two possibilities: at first - try to remove and re-insert display cable (I hope, you know. how brown lock works). If there is no success - try again. At second - some wire on flat cable may be damaged. Sometimes, good technician with soldering iron can fix it, sometimes not. And if you used force, removing cable, board connector may be damaged too. However, only the experienced man can find it easily.
So, try to carefuly re-insert display cable. Try several times. If you are unsuccessful, you, for sure, need an experienced technician to fix your device.
I hope, you are not enough mad to send device for repair to Russia

WTB: Broken 8525 or, help me find a part....please!

Hey guys, I need the ribbon cable for an 8525, I actually need 2 of them because I severed one, and then I severed the replacement from another phone that I bought. At first, I bought a ribbon cable from cnn.cn but it doesn't work for some reason, it just shows a white screen no matter what. I swapped my phones board into another persons phone and it worked fine, I put theirs in mine with the cnn.cn ribbon cable, and same thing, white screen. So, does anyone have a broken 8525 in which the ribbon cable is still in tact and not water damaged? If so, please let me know, I would like to buy it off of you, or, does anyone know where I can buy a ribbon cable that will work? Thanks!
theres many ribbon cables - please specify
Have you tested different front keyboard circuit board? I mean this part: http://cnn.cn/shop/tytnsoftbank-x01ht-front-keyboard-p-1553.html ?
I had the fading to white problem and it was fixed with that(there are a lot of faulty front KB switchboards around)..
You can also try a solution found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303872&page=8 post #78 -it might help you.

The one that goes from the LCD to the mainboard.
Yes I have tried, it's no the white screen problem, the ribbon itself is the problem, I took the ribbon out of anther phone and tried it with the front keyboard thats in my phone, worked perfectly....

If you read my original post, I bought one from there, the cable doesn't work, it just shows a white screen, so I'm not sure whether the cable is defective, or if they cable they are selling is just incompatible.
If anyone has a broken phone with a good ribbon cable, please let me know ASAP, I'd like to buy it ASAP and am willing to pay a good price. Thanks!!
anyone have anything??

Keyboard Problem - solved!

A few days ago i replaced the earpiece from my qtek 9100, While taking it apart i had trouble separating the small keyboard cable from the mainboard (not the big ribbon cable). When i wanted to put the cable back in position i noticed a small piece that had come loose from either that cable or the mainboard.
Since the keyboard isn't working anymore, i wonder where this little piece belongs to....is it the end of the keyboard cable or does it belong to the connector on the mainboard?
I would be very happy to know which spare part i have to order to make my Wizard work again, or even better....is there anyway i can fix this???
I made a picture of how my connector on the mainboard and the end of the keyboard cable look like now, and i made a pic of the little piece that came of (i put the stylus next to it show its size).
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Problem solved! I found out the part i 'broke' was the nook (right word??) of the connector that holds the cable in its place; i somehow managed to put it back in place and after some moving around with the cable it was attached properly again and the keyboard started working again.
So...this topic can be closed!

You can just get the part off eBay, it's something like $25-$30.
I had a similar need: I had to buy a broken screen Universal, to take the motherboard out and fix my device (problems with bootloader...)
I got a screen damaged Uni from ebay with 16 pounds, and when I got it I saw the screen ok, and only had to push the connector inside a little harder and all was good. So I got a fully functional Universal device for 16GBP. My advice is you try Ebay.
