For those who haven't bothered to read the READ THIS BEFORE POSTING announcement by mrvanx, I brought it to you:
A few things you should keep in mind before posting to XDA-Developers forums:
Check if your question has been asked beforeSome questions just keep popping up over and over. Please use the 'search function' in the menu above each and every page in the forum. Try entering a few keywords to see if your question has been asked before. If it has, please read the topics and see if you can figure it our from there. You can also search inside a topic if it has too many comments by using the search function (CTRL+F) in your browser. If you don't find the answer, please post a comment to the relevant thread instead of starting a new one.RTFW, or Read the WikiChances are your question is already answered on the wiki: Make sure you browse through the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) before you start a new topic. If it's an obvious or common question, chances are someone has already put the answer there.ETFW, or Edit the WikiInformation stored in the wiki is dynamic: The wiki makes it easy for anyone to contribute or edit pages, and link them together, it is the best way to keep all information current and accurate. If you ask something in the forum which you didn't find on the wiki previously, please take 5 minutes of your time to EDIT the wiki and add the information there when you get an answer. This is the only way to avoid tons of new threads asking the very same questions over and over and over again.
Don't be afraid of editing the wiki if you don't understand the wiki syntax: Formating may seem a bit complicated at the beginning, but you don't have to care too much if you just want to add content, add it as if you were writing a text document and sure someone more experienced with wiki syntax will edit it after and correct the bad formating mistakes.First time here?If it's your first time here, we encourage you to read general XDA-Developers guidelines too, which is an extended version of what has already been said here.

DO check whether your question has been asked before!
There are some questions that have been asked before several times.
Use the “Search” function on the brown menu bar on the top of the page. There you have the options the have Google search inside XDA-developers site or to use the built-in forum search.
If your search has no/unsatisfying results, try with different keywords.

If you don’t find the answer, try posting in that thread as chances are bigger someone can help you.
Alternatively you can start using the XDA-Developers FireFox & IE Search Bar Plug In.
DO read the Wiki!
Chances are that the answer to your question is already to be found in the Wiki. So please check the Wiki and read the FAQs.
DO edit the Wiki!
All the information that is stored in the Wiki is dynamic. Therefore it can be edited by everyone. Updating the Wiki in this way leaves us with an up to date Wiki which can successfully answer other user’s question only by reading it.
Also posting an answer you get on the forum to the Wiki helps other users with future similar questions.
Don't be afraid of editing the Wiki if you don't understand the wiki syntax: Formating may seem a bit complicated at the beginning, but you don't have to care too much if you just want to add content, add it as if you were writing a text document and sure someone more experienced with wiki syntax will edit it after and correct the bad formating mistakes.

***WELCOME***
Welcome everyone who has a question, but just can't seem to find an answer. My hope is that this thread will reduced the extremely large number of new threads being created for every little issue each user is having. The rules are very simple. Please follow them, as it's just not that hard.
1) Absolutely NO FLAMING. I am completely inflexible on this rule. If i catch you do it, you will get an xda vacation (will be banned, in case you don't get it). Also, just to be clear, "use the search function" is not an acceptable answer in this thread.
2) Before you post you MUST read THIS. Trust me, I will know if you didn't.
3) Anyone can post any issue they're having with their Raphael in this thread, but you MUST include a detailed description of your issue. If after a couple days your issue has not been addressed, please feel free to bump it.
4) Remember you are asking for help, and the as the saying goes "it's easier to catch flies with honey than vinegar. So be nice to those who are helping you.
This is an experiment based on a suggestion by another users, so we will see how it goes. If all goes well then i hope that this thread will be a great help to many new members. If not then we will make adjustments. I want to thank all those who will be contributing to this forum for their time in advance, as i certainly know i won't be answering these questions all by myself.

Missing "Bluetooth" folder in File Explorer
Does anyone else have this problem? It's just not there. I downloaded HTC_BT_FTP_Explorer_1[1].2.30489.cab & it helped with the FTP tab in the bluetooth settings, but it automatically unchecks the top box, Enable Bluetooth Explorer, every time you hit OK. Therefore, Bluetooth Explorer doesn't work. I get the wait cursor pops up for about 3/4 of a second & disappears. Nothing happenes. I've looked through all the settings including TweakHD & Advanced Config. It would be nice to have this working on this $700 PPC. Thanks in advance.................

Registry Editing Basics
Can someone please explain the following things about the registry?
1 - Are changes you manually make via a registry editor permanent? Will they go away after a hard reset? If not permanent, why do I keep reading that errors made can result in IRREVERSIBLE damage?
2 - How do tweaking programs like HD Tweak and Advanced Configuration work? Does turning something on/off cause a registry change? If they do cause a registry change and if registry changes are supposed to be permanent, how does a hard reset bring the phone back to factory settings after making changes via HD Tweak/Adv Config? (I've read that there may be two "copies" of the registry, one that is permanent/unchangeable/default and one that is dynamic/changeable/"working"...does this have something to do with it?)
3 - If someone uses a registry editor and accidently deletes a whole line or folder, is it gone forever? Can you simply recreate it?...Will a hard reset bring the deleted line/folder back?
4 - What is the best free registry editor for a BEGINNER? From my research, I've narrowed it down to PHM Registry Editor and Total Commander, with these differences:
-PHM is more user friendly and has more registry editing options, whereas Total Commander is better known for it's file explorer
-in PHM, I've read it is easier to accidently erase a line...is this true? If so, what makes Total Commander different/less prone to making mistakes?
-PHM has not been updated in many years, whereas, Total Commander continues to be updated. Does this matter? Does this make Total Commander more stable/safer to use for newer versions of windows mobile?
Sorry for all the questions...but I feel ready to start editing my registry and wanted clarifications before I started. Hopefully this will help others in the same boat. Thanks in advance.

[Q] How to ad a Tab in TF3d?
Hello all,
first i have to appollogize for my english, a lot of time has passed, since i learned it at school.
I have a little question:
How can i ad a second or third program tab in the TF3D-Tab?
I have so much Games and Programmes, so that i would like to split them up into 2 different Program Tabs.
But how can I add a second Tab?
I read, that others have made it, but not how.
If anyone has a clue, please tell me, so that i can customize my HD in the way i want it to...
Thanks,
Rosiv

Where do I start?
Hey guys,
I'm new here as a member, but I've been browsing the forums for a while. Anyway I have a few questions to ask before getting started and was hoping you'd all be able to help.
I'm selling my Vario 4 (Touch Pro) to buy a HD and was wondering if by getting it on Orange I will have to hard-reset it once I get it or anything like that as I want it to perform as best as possible (compared to my crappy N95 anyway). So where do I start specifically for this phone?
I've read a lot about this SEVEN program and would like to use it once I get my HD but I've not seen any screenshots of it nor do I really understand how it works. Does it send my mail to the Outlook client or is there a dedicated application.
Where's the best place to get the HD unlocked and the cheapest (I doubt they're both the same). And if I go ahead and install a new ROM or anything like that do I have to unlock again like with the iPhone?
I'm coming from a N95 and like to send text messages using Nokia PC Suite is there a HTC/WinMo variation of this?
Hope I'm not asking too much. Thanks for your help guys!

Check the wiki page: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone
And, the software page: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Software

Thank you for your help, any other suggestions or more specific answers?

You can't, it says in the book/manual, read manual before you post!

I hate to be the voice of reason on such things to makes our lives better, an i do agree something needs to be done, but you have to take in to account human nature.
To a degree this will work but Humans will largely do what ever they want, they very rarely read signs and notices and as the saying goes rules are made to be broken, it will be intresting how you can enforce the unenforcable, its not anyones fault if they dont understand your rules its simply human nature, obviously there will be exceptions to the rule who go out of their way to challenge the rules, but the danger is imposing such a percived hard set of rules that it may well eat away at the fabric of the community, and possibley, eventually, may destroy it.
You cant change the fact of human nature, after all, its Human!

New Touch HD owner, small notification icon problem?
Couple questions:
1) I have an icon in my top task bar that looks like o_o kind of, I thought it was a voicemail icon, but I erased all my voicemails and the icon is still there and I get the new voicemail notification on my left soft key at the bottom too... running WWE stock ROM. Great phone BTW.
2) On the shiny plastic bottom of the Touch HD, opposite to where the stylus is, is there a hairline "crack" on the rounded corner that is not actually cracked, from the plastic molding process? I'm worried it IS a crack.
Thanks again

Keeping the Backlight on during call...?
Is there anyway to keep the backlight/screen on during call?
Sometimes when having to bring up the keypad and press more buttons....it takes too long listening to talker and also having to try to quickly turn on the screen, etc.
Any suggestions?
Cheers
FG

There's an option in HD Tweak under the 'Call' Section named 'Sleep'
I set mine to disallow , and that prevents the phone from going into sleep while in a call , according to the description

[Q] Everlasting Questions

As many of you will have seen I've been quite active on this forum from the moment I joined. I want to figure everything out for myself as much as possible, but it's just not possible to look up (and find!) everything. Thus, here are the questions that I can't find an answer for myself:
1) How do I change the standard SW keyboard, without it resetting after a soft reset? (E.g. to blackstone keyboard)
2) How do I change a registry value, without it resetting after a soft reset, when it normally does? (For instance the value whether your headset is plugged in, I want it to be default ON.)
3) How can I extract a cab file from a ROM? I would like to get WLive messenger from the stock ROM, but I just can't find a guide anywhere!
4) Is there a way to fix the problem that occurs with the HW keyboard when Blackstone SW keyboard is installed? The problem is the first keytap not being registered correctly, so the first letter ends up being the second or later. Call it input lag.
I intend to add the found answers to this post, as well as add other hard to answer questions others may have. That is, if an answer exists. Thanks in advance for those who try to help.

1) How do I change the standard SW keyboard, without it resetting after a soft reset? (E.g. to blackstone keyboard)
Use either Sktools to set it as default (it then uses a small program that starts up in startup folder) or Sipchange http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271008 (not certain if this one works anymore)
2) How do I change a registry value, without it resetting after a soft reset, when it normally does? (For instance the value whether your headset is plugged in, I want it to be default ON.)
the headset is a tricky one, one way would be to run a script (mortscript maybe) to change the reg entry at startup, but I don't know how often the headset is polled (if at all) to check whether it's in or not).
3) How can I extract a cab file from a ROM? I would like to get WLive messenger from the stock ROM, but I just can't find a guide anywhere!
depends on whether it's a cab or not, unlikely. First you need to extract the rom, there are plenty of threads on this. but's it's obvious if you've tried a rom kitchen, you bung the ruu-signed.nbh in the baserom folder, start the kitchen.cmd and follow the instructions.
Then pour over all the folders and see if there's a cab. If there isn't you need to build one.
search for quickcab as a start (although that one doesn't allow you to import reg files (or *.rgu as they come out in the roms) so you have to do it manually.
4) Is there a way to fix the problem that occurs with the HW keyboard when Blackstone SW keyboard is installed? The problem is the first keytap not being registered correctly, so the first letter ends up being the second or later. Call it input lag.
use a different keyboard, I've not had this issue, but then I prefer the raphael one. There's plenty of other free keyboards about, lifes too short to work out why the software keyboard off one piece of hardware doesn't work with another.. ;P

Haha, I'm afraid you're right on that one fards.
Thanks for your replies, can you give me a link to the raphael keyboard? I'd like to check it out.
Also, I've got tools to create a cab, but extracting a ROM the way you proposed will probably prove difficult, I'll look into it.
The headset value is polled by for instance the FM radio and audiobooster from HTC.

I can't even remember where I got teh keyboard cab from, I'll post it when I get the phone working again!
extracting the rom really is easy, the kitchens make it simple..
that new rom kitchen I linked to makes it even easier, but I still prefer the out and out gui pleasantness that's Pofs Linux rom kitchen
I don't mind answering your's and gtrabs questions, they seem to be the right questions !
just noticed I'm rapidly approaching a kilo posts, must make sure it's not a grumpy post that one...
I managed to miss some text out, but basically when you find the folder containing your desired files take the files out of the folder you want, including the corresponding 409 (or whatever language) folder and stick 'em in the cab software pretty easy to do .
Sometimes it doesn't work so try changing something or try to see if there's a dependency that's missing.
it's really not as secret or hard to do as it's sometimes is made out to be. The hard work has been done by the genius who write the software to let us do this.
turns out it's Smabergs keyboard I use..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2966597
Ah, very nice. Thanks. I've tried smabergs, it has some bugs (landscape mode broken) and it doesn't seem to be supported anymore. Will tinker around with it a bit, as it's good for portrait mode. (Blackstone, but then without the bugs!)
Of course you can find the anwsers to the blackstone cabs, if you would search them all individuality.
I found numerous people asking this question. Call them lazy, but this forum does not make it easier to find information in a convenient way. All i want is to make a nice overview of what all the cabs do and what they look like.
Member Norti has done the same with all the programs/tweaks. If you continue your statement you might also think that topic is unnecessary. I think this forum is very unorganized. Do you think its strange that people keep asking the same questions? I think the problem here is not in the hands of the people asking, but in the forums way of storing data. The search function is not a great tool to search with. Does anyone have some input so we kan make it better?
Maybe this is the wrong topic to post this in, but i thought it was a question many would like to have answered...

help

can blue angel run this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469865
you can install it, i had a previous version installed with sun_dream's wm6.1 rom and i thought i had an improvement. another thing is: i just checked the registry and the values mentioned in the thread do not exist on my xplode 21202 rom, so i don't know whether it would change anything to install it, it wouldn't do any harm, but then don't expect any improvements, if you do, please respond here and write azharsunny, that his tweak works for the ba too so he can add it to the list of compatible devices
Also, could you Edit the tittle of first post to something more like " iTouch Tweek" for BA ???? So others would be more interested in reading.
I would also suggest to test it and let us know.
Edit: Also, are you looking for better sensitivity with your finger or with the stylus? I've found that when you do the Screen Setting, if you do it with your finger, and gently touch the crosses, it give you more sensitivity when using finger.
Ive tryd this reg change my self there's no difference what so ever, on our BA's that is.
It could be that since this reg tweak was meant for other devices, the values are elsewhere. I remember changing the screen sensitivity a while back in WM6 and it does work. I'll try to see if I can remember the entry, but it does work. I don't know if this "program" works or not, but I guess trying it wouldn't hurt.
@Nev2Star
markanthonypr is absolutely right. Please refrain from opening a thread with a title like that. Whenever you create a thread, please make sure that the following conditions are met:
* You are posting it in the right section of the forum:
This is clearly a specific program compatibility issue and it sure does not deserve a new thread for it. You could have just created a post in the thread where you found the program or you could have asked in the "Questions and Answers" section of the forum. Remember, this is only for WM6+ development, testing, etc. and not for specific programs. This is not the first thread that you have opened with similar purposes in the BA section and I am simply asking you to open them in the right section (which is not this one).
* Make a title for your thread that is specific for your problem:
Again, if you want someone to look at your question seriously (or even look at it at all), put a title that clearly explains what you are looking for. A title of "help", doesn't say anything. What happened? Did your BA crash? Are you trapped in a coal mine? You need help with math homework? What does "help" tell the other members looking into possibly helping you out? Absolutely nothing.
* That the thread doesn't already exist / the question hasn't been asked before:
In this case, there is a full thread in the Dev & Hacking section solely dedicated to this program. There is no need for a new thread talking about compatibility of this.

Looks better, doesn't it?
Well.. Firstly thanks a lot for the Omnia 2 forum.. Have always been a fan of XDA community and now since Omnia 2 is supported, i think it will help me ( and many Omnia 2 users ) even more.. Looking forward to Custom Roms, Apps and the likes.. .. (More stuff for the gorgeous AMOLED display..!! )
I'd also like to extend my thanks to xda for including the O2 in their forums. I'm expecting great things from this strong community. Ok now for my question. ANy way for me to speed up the kinetic scrolling in O2 6.5 rom? The scrolling is smooth but I want it to move faster. Faster as in more like the iPhone's. So, possibly more coasting would help? The amount of coasting is quite minimal at the moment.
Thanks for adding Omnia II support.
Waiting for the great support that is coming along.
Thank God an Omnia II forum in XDA!!, It will now be just a matter of time for us to get the program memory issue solved
thank you for opening up a forum page for Omnia II. i missed daily visiting this area since i sold my x1. alot of stuff for HTCs etc arent compatible with samsung.
Thanks
Thanks for starting Samsung Omnia II forum, been praying for this, you are the best
Cheers!
Hello all
I know this is for Omnia II, but i found no forum for Omnia i900.
I had before a HTC Touch Elfin and changed since a week to a Samsung Omnia i900L, which has also integrated GPS. I don't know why, as i installed all programs into My Memory, but i am running out of memory, maybe it could be because i installed SPB Mobile Shell. I tried to figure out how of the 88.17 available MB of storage, 82.02 are used, (program 55.58 used of total 97.21 MB) but i could not find the problem.
I was thinking to flash a new ROM with a better memory repartition, but i also read about problems with GPS, BT and also with the front camera with most of the ROM's. Also will everything what is inside My Memory remain untouched? I am not at all familiar with Samsung flashing, as it is different as for HTC devices (I flashed dozens of ROM's on my Elfin), so will the radio for example stay untouched too? I read the topic about flashing but have still lots of doubts.
Could some mercyful soul shed some light on my total darkness? tongue.gif
Also maybe recommend a good WM 6.5 ROM, maybe one not stripped of all Samsung goodies?

hi guys as you can see i'm new to this forum. I've recently got a Samsung GT-i8000 and i am so grateful that there is a forum dedicated to my phone model. However i am having some difficulties with the phone which i hope that you guys can answer my queries. I chanced upon this websites and i thought it would be a great opportunity to voice out my queries.
Firstly, is the Omnia II meant to be say, laggy? well everytime i switch on my phone or close applications that consumes a large amount of memory, it automatically shows the rotating loading sign and it won't go away unless i wait for like a few minutes or i have to reboot the phone. I did not download any applications(well except for facebook and so on).. but from what i can tell my phone has a relatively good amount of free memory(roughly about 50mb). So my question is there anything that i can do to solve/reduce the lag? (I have tried htcaddicts.com's clearRAM thing, but it still does not really do the job).
Secondly, i am having problems with the connectivity on the phone. Everytime i surf the net using the phone(not wireless.. the data plan) for awhile sometimes it just suddenly disconnects itself. I did not press the 'end call' button which will end my connection, but it automatically does it by itself. This happens even when my battery is charged, so does anyone know why it happens? cause it gets really irritating sometimes when i'm reading halfway and it just goes off by itself.
Thirdly, i have tried downloading some simple apps such as alarm clocks and stuff like that and downloaded into 'My Storage' but when i access settings the programs showed that it is downloaded into the 'My Device' memory, which i suspect is causing the lag. However i am no IT expert, and i hope you guys would guide me along with this phone. thanks
Problem with standby mode
I have problem with my gt-18000
actualy it is not getting auto turn off(Standby mode). I have changed the option under POWER to 1 min but still it is not getting in standby mode.
When i use s2u2 than it is going. Is this hardware fault of software.
The ver is official 6.5 from samsung
Other thing i want to know that is there any freeware that uses proximity sensor to lock n unlock my phone
Is there anyway to tweak my Omnia II so the when I initialize the camera the camera starts first? My phone starts the camcorder first and I have to switch it to camera.
I have learned alot from this site. I appreciate all the help.
Thank you
[Q] No charge after flashing
Hi everybody!
I've recently bought an Omnia II and I have a big problem.
After a few days I've decided to flash some custom rom but after flashing it there were no charging and I get some message that my battery is not supported or not compatible or something else. I've quickly flashed an original Samsung ROM and everything was fine. Then charged the battery fully and flashed an other custom ROM and have the same result. Nice fast ROM without charge. Now I'm back on stock ROM again but I'm totaly confused. Did I missed something?
Please help!
I flashed my HTC PDAs for four years without any trouble, but it's new to me and found nothing on the net. I searched this forum and MoDaCo but nothing.
Thanks for any help!
Best regards

Attention!! Read this before starting a new thread with questions about this device!.

All,
Read below before posting or opening a new thread
All,
I have decided to open a Questions and Answers thread. This will be good to keep the number of new threads with questions down to a minimum, which will make new threads essentially for people that are contributing to the Desire HD in any way. This includes but is not limited to people that are providing
*Fixes
*Tips and Tricks
* Issues with the device itself
*And everything in between
However, I have a life (and so do most of you), which is why I would like to request the help from other Seniors (or anyone who knows the answer really ) to monitor the thread as well. This will have the added side effect of creating an ever self updating knowledge base that will far extend the content of the Forum. This will in turn save us from having to answer the same question 37000 times...such as:
1-A screw seems to be loose
2-I think I saw my reflection on the screen...is this normal?
3-My fingerprints can be seen on the back of my DHD...is my identity safe and so forth (needless to say I'm over exaggerating this posts) but you get the idea

Post What Where:
General - general technical discussion items, news, anything else that does not fit into the other fora categories.
Q&A (Questions and Answers) - all questions, irrespective of type, get posted in here whether they be theme related, accessory related, technical, etc.
Accessories - any items to do with components and/or accessories relating to your device.
Rom Development - only meant for very advanced technical discussion directly related to ROM development activity and the delivery of actual ROMs and ROM components ONLY. Nothing else goes in here.
Themes & Apps - anything to do directly with the development of themes and/or applications. Nothing else goes in here.
MOD EDIT: BEFORE POSTING ANY THREAD IN THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:
If you have developed a ROM, or are working with others to do so, the development forum is somewhere to discuss and share ideas, post useful feedback and logs or crash dumps, and to discuss a common goal developers are trying to achieve.
It is NOT the place to post your question because it gets higher traffic, or because more experienced users frequent it. Doing this just annoys those who are working on the device, and drives them away. Developers don't want to wade through 20 threads of "Help me urgently" to find their threads for porting and fixing camera issues etc. Similarly, if a thread is designated as discussion for developers say, porting a camera fix, please do not post in there asking "When will it be ready?", "Can I flash this yet?" etc. This is both completely disrespectful to those working on the project (you evidently haven't read the important posts in the thread), and also is making it harder for developers to find comments from other developers or testers when required.
Similarly, don't make loads of "Thanks for your work here" posts in an active development thread. It's just as annoying to developers as asking when something will be ready. If a ROM is complete, then go ahead and thank the developer if you wish, but don't go into threads for devs only, and interrupt it to post "thanks". It's basically spamming, and is treated as such.
If you are posting in development, you should have read every sticky and notice there, and should be actively developing or helping in the development of something. Developing isn't installing a ROM, or using a tweak, it's creating a ROM or other hack or tweak. If you haven't read for several days before starting out on XDA, you are likely about to ask something already solved. I registered on XDA when I first wanted to post, and that was to join in a discussion on something. Sure, join up and ask a question, but read the information available in General and Q&A first, as your question will have been asked before. Search is your friend here, become familiar with it.
Regarding when to post in development if you are not actually developing something, there is one occasion where it's acceptable. If you find a leak of a new ROM, which isn't already posted, and you verify it's legitimacy via either running it, or based on the source you obtained it from, then this is assisting in development, and should be posted in development. If you want to ask when a leak will be available use search first, then if not already in discussion, open a thread in general or Q&A.
If you have a problem flashing a ROM, this is NOT related to development. It's up to you to determine if it is specific to a particular ROM, and post useful information in that developer's existing thread for the ROM. If it happens on more than one ROM, and isn't a known issue (remember you should read several times more words than you post), then find out what you are doing wrong. Check guides written by others, try to repeat the problem and see if it happens every time. Something needs to be reproducible to be fixed effectively.
Once you have identified what you need help with go to the device Q&A forum (general if device lacks one), and make a clear, informative thread that explains the issue, and what you have tried doing to fix it. Did you re-download the ROM? Did you ask a friend to flash it for you, to reduce chance of user error? What steps (exactly) did you follow? What errors did you see (exact wording)? Did you double check all the steps? Did you do a wipe or hard reset?
If you make a clear, concise, yet detailed post, you will find help forthcoming, and should get the problem sorted very quickly. If someone suggests you try something, report back on what happened, did it work etc. Then, next time someone has this issue and searches, they will find this and have a verified and tested solution.
So remember... before you start a thread in development, ask yourself what you are developing. If you can't answer, then stop, step away from the post button, and think about where you are posting. Would it be better in General or Q&A, or is some more time with your best friend, search, required?

Q Why a special Q&T Thread for a specific ROM??
A The bigger a ROM development thread gets, the greater the chance that posts are being placed in this thread that are not related to the ROM development itself, e.g. problems with flashing, installation, bugs, things not working etc. However this is understandable, it's not according to the guidelines of XDA for Development sections. Therefore the main goals of the ROM specific Q&T threads is to avoid this cluttering of the original develpment thread with these OT posts by redirecting the posters to the ROM specific Q&T thread and also to relieve the developer from answering these post, so he can dedicate his time to developing.
Q How to move my post to the Q&A/T thread?
A Copy the text of your post in the dev's thread, got to the Q&A/T thread and paste it there. After having done that, go back to the dev's thread, edit your post and change the text into: moved to Q&A/T thread, preferably accompanied with a link to this thread.
Q When I'm asked to move my post to the Q#A/T thread, do I have to do that?
A When you're asked to move your post, there will always be given an explanation by the OP of the Q&A/T, e.g. your post is not development related (f.i. SD card problems, etc), so please be so kind to move your post. If you want to help the dev to keep his original thread as clean as possible from OT posts, then the answer is, of course, YES. Although we cannot force you to move your post, it's highly recommended to do so
Q Where can I download this ROM and How do I install?
A You can find the link to download and installation instructions HERE .. Pay close attention to this post, everything required for a successful flash is listed right here. If you fail to follow the instructions or meet the requirements for installation, you could run into some problems.
Q What are the known issues with these ROM's?
A Right now there doesn’t appear to be any specific issues with this ROM.
Q How’s battery life?
A see this question asked repeatedly across all ROMS. Honestly there is no way to give you an answer based on a ROM. There are too many variables in question and results vary from user to user and device to device. Battery life is going to depend on age and condition of your battery, your use habits with your device, installed apps, tweaks, settings, etc...
Q How do I...
A Ask your questions and report your issues in this thread. You will receive a response and hopefully get you back up and running this ROM to it's fullest
I've been using this ROM for some time and am extremely satisfied with the performance, look and feel. It really is very good. The following are the only issues I have experienced:
1. As previously mentioned on the dev thread, the only problem I have experienced is with widgets not updating after a period of time (stocks widget, music widget etc). The only widget that consistently updates is the weather widget, although not sure if this successfully updates the location correctly (I keep forgetting to try) as another user posted. This appears to be specific to the GUI rather than the ROM as I have no problems with the widgets on Tytung's build. The only way to resolve this is to reboot the phone.
2. I was initially able to remove a couple of pages on the home screen successfully but when I recently tried to place a widget on a page, the system created another page (widget too large for available space). Since then I have been unable to delete any empty pages - just keep getting "Touchwiz Home has stopped". It recovers OK but now left with unused pages which can't be deleted.
Regardless of the above, it is an excellent ROM and hopefully will continue to be developed. :good:

Hi sandymac,
first of all:welcome to this thread.
Regarding the widget's size, AFAIK the size is adjustable by double tapping on it or pressing and holding it..

Thanks for the reply but not concerned about the size as I know how to resize. My point was that by "foolishly" trying to place a widget on a page with insufficient space, it created another page and since then I have been unable to remove any surplus pages. There is obviously a page count somewhere that is now out of sync. If I knew where, I could investigate further. If anyone knows then please advise
Hi,
I have following findings:
(1) the location of weather widget won't update according to my position. It always fix in the location when I add the widget. Don't know if its original design is like this.
(2) when I wake up in the morning, the phone, quite frequent, can't wake up from stand by mode. As the result, the alarm can't work as it may be hanged sometime at night. I am using clk 2/2013 version and trwp 2.4.3.0 r3. Don't know if clk is a problem.
(3) the VPN over Wifi is working fine. But it doesn't work if I use VPN over data(ie. 3g network). The phone will prompt No network immediately when I chose to connect VPN.
Let me explore if I could fine others.
Some native sd specific question. However can I clear cache, clear dalvik, fix permission of native sd rom in case I got problem with rom but don't want to reinstall it?
Thank you.

Hi,
maybe the answer to your problem lies in the registry file, either in the HKCU of HKLM sections??

Hi,
this is IMO a clear example of a post that must/should be posted in the original development thread or with a PM to the developer, cause the only one who can solve this is the dev himself!! But anyway, thanks for posting here!!

Hi there.
I have a suggestion.
The ROM is great, but we could improve the performance if we could disable the icon shadows.
What do you say?

What would be helpful is if anyone else can actually test and confirm my findings, both for the added pages and, more importantly, the fact that widgets fail to update after a period of time thus forcing a reboot. For example, does this only happen on NativeSd builds or is it across all installs? I will, in the meantime, continue to investigate.

Unfortunately I do not have the time at this very moment to test this, very busy with monitoring all my threads for OT posts and replying to that. So I hope somebody else can help you with this!! If nobody is able to help you, please PM me and I will find a way to help you,

Hi guys,
the SD Card and bad blocks posts are, as you will understand yourself and both stated that also, no directly ROM development related posts. We created therefore for these kind of posts an official Q&T thread for this specific ROM. Although I understand very well why you both posted in this thread (through SD card problems @hijodedios51206 is not able to install this very good ROM), I would very kindly ask you both, if this is going to be an ongoing discussion, to post future posts about this issue in the Q&T thread of this ROM.Thanks in advance and a happy Easter weekend.

ok i tried it on my pc and same results as my laptop using sdformatter. i get a message saying "memory card is write-protected. please release the write protect switch." i tripple checked and the lock switch is not on the LOCK position. i found a hard drive "low-level formatter" and did a full wipe, it succeeds in wiping everything but the last few blocks at the very end of the disk.
I need to know how to use internet on phone through usb cable in this ROM (internet pass through)

Plenty fast enough already. Have you tried changing settings/developer options/drawing options for window/transition/animator options to either .5 or off?

Plenty fast enough already. Have you tried changing settings/developer options/drawing options for window/transition/animator options to either .5 or off?

Personally, I would give up and buy a new card. They aren't that expensive now.

Hi,
what you could try is to format the SD card with Windows Formatting Tool. Insert SD card in Reader and insert into PC/Laptop. Open the explorer and you will see your SD card. Right click it and choose formatting. Choose the slow mode (takes a while) and in the options, choose repair errors automatically. Sometimes this does the trick, because Windows will either seperate these bad blocks into one or just remove them.

Off Topic posts
Hi all,
would all ot your posters be so kind to cooperate to post off topic, e.g. non development related, posts in this especially created Q&T thread for this specific ROM.
MiroBiala has agreed to this that's important to post Off Topic post in this new Q&T thread. The goal of this special Q&T thread is to keep the original development thread as clean as possible from off topic posts.
Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation, kind regards Kuzibri
