damaged display resolution - XPERIA X1 General

Hello,
after installing some applications my display resolution is somehow damaged.
The whole screen is flickering and everything is more bright than before.
The screen looks strange as every horizontal line of the display is followed by a thin dark line, so that the whole screen is in stripes.
Furthermore the icons and text seems to be slightly bigger.
In the settings the info claims to have 800x480 and 65k colors.
All applications still work fine, but look strange with the stripes and the flickering.
What worries me most is that even after hard reset the damaged screen resolution is kept.
I hope someone has a solution.

Interlacing
That's strange, it sounds like interlacing. When you say you did a hard reset do you mean a proper hard reset, as in, turn off, two silver soft keys and reset button under battery cover, reinstalls the OS?
If you did that and it isnt fixed then it looks like you have a hardware problem. It sounds like a sync issue because it's giving the effects of interlacing (i don't think the screen is interlaced, it shouldn't be, but it's possible).
In that case, you need a new phone.

documented hard-reset
Hi alias_neo,
the reset I did was with the silver buttons and the power button.
It then asked me if i really wanted to continue and had to press the R-key.
It then took a few minutes until the phone was up again and it was a fresh install.
If some software was able to change the display to interlaced, there must be a way to reverse it again.
Regards,

Solved
The way the damage came the same way it went away again.
Suddenly the interlaced dislpay stopped

Control panel screwed

After a little accident involving a pitcher of soda I had to tear apart my phone to wipe it clean. Of course it was hard reset when i tried to boot it again (after a couple of hours) and I had to restore via Sprite Backup.
Problem: When I tap Add Ring Tone, Backlight, Bluetooth Setting, Button Lock, Device Information, Microphone AGC, Permanent Save and Power, they all take me to Backlight.. Why and how can it be solved? (without Hard reset and reinstall).
Problems after drowning the top 4cm in soda;
The screen is very bright and pale regarding colors. Also flickers a lot, but sometimes it works just like before.
The LED is constantly glowing in blue at about 50% of the power it flashed before. Actually that's quite nice The green flashing is still there, but looks strange when the blue is glowing.
The glass covering the camera has moist on the inside, making the already worthless camera even more worthless..
The insurance company will give me a new one

white screen of death?

aright previously my LCD screen was cracked well i got the replacement LCD screen and it works fine. BUT my problem now is that its just displaying a white screen. Nothing else. I take off the battery put it back on turn the phone on and i get a white screen no letters no nothing.
Does this mean my phone is a brick?
i still get response when i hold down the comm button it vibrates. The volume slider responds with the volume going up and down. and when i try to hard reset via holding the comm button, voicebutton, camera button and hitting the soft reset button it responds to it and resets the phone apparantly.
So i know for a fact the actual phone works..but its not displaying anything but a white screen...is there anything else i can do ?
If you have replaced the screen yourself, it may be worth trying to re-fit it again. Make sure the connectors are in pefectly, and make sure there is no dirt on them. If the pda still responds to button presses, it's fine, it's only the srcreen that's damaged/non-functional...
To see if this is the case, try tapping on the very to left of the screen, and see if you get the start menu pop. If you don't it's prolly the connector not plugged in properly, if you do, then the connector may be damaged...
ok im trying now..but how could it be the screen if the screen is giving me a perfectly white screen and its been tested to be working correctly?
sweeet i reconnected everything and it worked thanks for the recommendation dood much appreciated

Nice to see that my reccomendation worked for you. I've never replaced a colour LCD screen before, but some of the B&W ones i've replaced have had similar faults. It's the same with old cartridge games if you think about it, you used to have to blow on them ocasionally...
Modern technology may be perfect in every respect, but the manufacturing methods arn't.

Wizard-Diffent colour vertical lines HELP!!

I got the mda vario from tmobile uk. I dont know what happen. Different colour blue, red, white vertical lines that start from up to down. If I connect the device to the computer or to the charger the orange light is on. PLease HELP ME!!!
Sounds like a graphics hardware problem to me - but worth trying a hard reset first - turn device off, hold comm and record buttons at the same time, turn device on still holding buttons - text should appear on screen, press green (call) button and hard reset should begin. Make sure you have backed up any important data before you do this.
im having this problem too, but my lines turn black and only effect half the screen. It starts with the screen going fuzzy.
I've had this happen when the phone was charging and it caused temporary screen burn because i recieved a text.
I try hard reset but nothing. It changes a lot of colours...
Sounds like a graphics hardware problem means that there is no hope?
Thanks anyway!!!

Isnt it under warranty? If it is get it repaired - if not maybe a loose connector inside, could be worth a dis-assemble and push all the connectors tight. Or if your not up to that take it to someone that is.
Unfortunately I dont have any warranty!!!
I find the disassembling manual but do you know where can I find the screws and other staff in the uk? Do you have any idea?
Otherwise I live in York Uk, do you know any place near here?
This place does pda repairs http://www.gpsmidlands.co.uk./

Replaced Screen - No Joy

OK ordered a replacement screen with digitizer, despite only my digitizer being cracked (surprisingly everything still worked even touching in the damaged half of the screen) as I had read it was far easier to replace the whole screen.
Well I can tell you its still not that easy. After a slow struggle I did manage to swap the screens over, but alas no joy. The phone is probably starting up as there is the usual vibration after release of the power button. The screen backlight is on, but no display.
So now I come to the questions I probably should have asked up front, before ordering.
Are there different models of the screen ie different generations of HD2 have different screens? Is there a way to tell which one the old and new one are? I note that the YouTube video of a screen being replaced shows slightly different internals to mine, thus my suspicions regarding variations of screen.
Lastly would the Telstra Phone version have a different screen from the universal version of the same era?
I will pull it apart again this evening and see if I can see any obvious differences (or install errors) but if there is anyone with knowledge that can guide me as to whether I have the wrong version screen I would be grateful.
Cheers.

Opening up everything again shows both screens have the same HTC part number: 60H00295-DOP and similar serial numbers. So I reinstalled the old display - no change - a blank screen. Checked over all the connectors, ribbon cables, etc all look correct. So reassembled with the new display and performed a Hard Reset. This occurs as expected though with no display. All the buttons work and I hear a peep as the volume is raised up and down. The soft reset button causes the usual restart effect. I also note that back light comes on, stays on for 30 secs, then dims then turns off 30 sec later. I can even tell that the touch part is working as I can feel small vibrations to each touch and if I'm in the volume set screen and I touch where vibrate is I get the usual vibration confirming it has changed to vibrate mode.
It would appear that in the process of changing the display I have damaged the display driver chip or something along those lines as the other processes above tend to indicate the processor is still working and reading button presses, making sounds etc....very sad.

Pixel 4 display working but no touch

Hello everybody,
I have a accidentally cracked Pixel 4. The Display cracks after it falls from around one meter height. I decided to fix the screen and buy a new one. It seems to be not an original Bit the board of the new and the old screen seems to be exactly the same. I opened the phone and replace the screen without any damage. After the screen was inserted I test it if it woks. Success! Everything works (I not tested the touch Funktion yet) after I build most of the things together I give it another try and I recognized that the touch Funktion does not work. No matter how hard I press or hold the connector down etc. I tried many things also a Hard Reset. I never seen such problem before. And my question is: is this the screen, the phone or a software problem? And how I can fix this issue? I am completely confused because I fixed many phones but something like this is new. Regularly the complete Amoled does not work.
If I go to the left upper corner, there is some movement in the screen and this also stays if I release my finger (video).
