Annoying answerphone feature. Any ideas? - Touch HD General

I use Orange and everytime I go to pick up new messages on my answerphone I have to dial '1' from the menu options to hear them. This is a pain on the Blackstone because you have to wake up the screen, pop up the keypad and then press '1'. What I want to know is is there any way of building the '1' into the telephone number so that the tone is automatically sent when I dial the number?

Beep sound when dialing phone numbers

Hello,
How I can disable beep sound when dialing phone numbers?
Goto Start > Settings and select Phone, then next to Keypad select Off.
aa that simple and I didin't find it
Don't you disable the tones for online services as well, by doing that?
I mean, sometimes we dial a number and, during the call, we are requested to dial pin codes, phone numbers, etc. By disabling the keypad signals don't we disable those too?

Click to collapse
I just tested it. Turning off the keypad tones doesn't affect tones dialed when you're connected.

Phone dial tones out of sync

On my old HTC iJam phone, the keypad buttons would create the button tones instantaneously. On the Mogul, when I press a number on the keypad, the associated tone doesn't sound until a split second later - that's quite annoying because you never know when you're dialing too fast for the phone because the response isn't instantaneous. Does that make sense?
Is there a way to make sure that when i press a number on the keypad, the associated sound occurs right away?

opening the slider go to call history?

When I open the slider or invoke the "phone app", the actual scrren I get is that of the call history. I then have to press "keypad" to go to the dialer?
Is there a way to go straight to the dialer when I open the slider?
hmm...since the hardware keypad is already open, just press a digit to go to the dialer. or did that not solve it?
No, actually pressing any number in the keypad has no results in call history...
It is actually a setting in the phone.
Go to Settings/Personal/Phone/Advanced and make sure that the bottom box is not ticked "Press SEND key to open Call History" untick it.
I hope this is what you mean.
seal, you're a GENIOUS!!
I thought that checkbox only affected the send button but it also affects the slide open.
Thanks!!

Can't change the speed dial voicemail number

I was trying to dial my voicemail today by holding down the '1' key.
It said I didn't have one set so I typed in '150' then realised that I should have typed '123' (for Orange).
Now if I try and edit the speed dial number set for key '1' it won't let me. It just goes to the general phone options with no way to edit the number. Also, 'Delete' is greyed out.
Anyone got any suggestions (not hard reset ) to sort this out?

Calling Voicemail too many button pushes

Folks, is it just me or is there a trick I have missed?
When I get a voicemail and I try to call my voicemail box by tapping on the message asking me to call my voicemail and I end up having to hit the screen 3 times !
I get the Incoming message stating
"Please call 321, You have N new voiceMail messages"
I CLICK ON THE NUMBER and get the menu pop up with the number and several options e.g. Forward, delete message etc
I CLICK ON THE NUMBER (AGAIN!)
Then I get another screen asking me to verify the number with three options - call, send message and save to people
I CLICK ON THE NUMBER AGAIN!!
I press on the CALL button and hold down the number "1" and it'll dial voicemail (that is if i dont see it near the top of my recent calls...in which case i'll just tap on it). So really, it involves two presses to call voicemail.
Thanks, didn't realise the 1 number key was preset to voicemail. At least that is some improvement. You would have hoped the number in the incoming message being clickable would have automatically dialled the number for you but what the heck.
Thanks again
