As far as I know, that only syncs the phone contacts. I think you need third-party SIM manager software.
For example this. Do google search to find more programs. I've never dealt with this, and maybe there is some registry hack or setting on the HD that will allow it. Maybe someone else knows for sure.
EDIT: What you could do is transfer the sim contact to your phone. Then it will sync along with all the other contacts. To do that, just go to your contacts and tap on a sim contact to select it. Press Menu--Save Contact
You can edit information and when your done, it will create a copy and save it as a phone contact. The sim contact will still be there.

Through Dashwire which is a free online back up programme which does work with HTC HD you can sync the contacts onto a webpage, delete, edit do whatever you like with them and sync them back plus you have a permanent back up of them online - may be of some use?

I figured that also out, but I don't want to install outlook.

Of all the junk that Micro$ have churned out, Outlook is actually a rather good program - I'd recommend it over anything else
You either get another sync software that will let you sync with the software you use to manage contacts on your pc, or connect to your pocketpc using something like http://www.freewareppc.com/communication/rce.shtml that will let you control the ppc from your windows desktop.
Ok, another question

Both from the same device.
I believe it is currently displaying the Outlook and MSN contacts.
Any way to make it ONLY show the Outlook contacts?
It's a known bug with activesync i know from old Hermes times. If you have this problem the fu..k will double the contacts each synchronizing.
Recommend new sync installation and new start-up synchro.
Yes, one list is from your Outlook contacts, and the other appears from your MSN list when you sync.
Go into the Windows Live sync options and de-select the Store WL Contacts.
I'm not sure if this will delete the doubledup contacts, but will prevent further download of MSN contacts in the future (so you might need to tidy up yoiur contacts list just once).
Cheers guys!
I will try it out tonight. Will let you know of any developments i have.!
Cheers!
Sam
Anyone know why both tick boxes are un-untickable for me?
If you delete your hotmail/live/msn ID in Windows Live options. When you recreate your ID the checkboxes shouldn't be greyed out. It seems to be a one time only choice.

i have this, but i think its phone contacts, andcontacts saved to the sim card.

Removing Windows Live Contacts

I made a mistake, a bad bad mistake of synchronizing my windows live contacts to my ALL contacts. everytime i delete those WL contacts it will return some way or another. IS there anyway to not letting them synchronizing again other than a wipe?
I cant seem to untick the boxes in WLM mobile
Same here, and is it possible that deleting contacts only works one-by-one???
i want to delete all my contacts (NOT SIM CONTACTS) then copy them back again via sim manager but i cant even select all...
Any suggestion?
Thx
ok, just found out.
by signing out and then sign in back again via creation of new account option ( sign in back your old account), all your sync contacts will disappear
just remember not to select the sync options again.
nice, it worked... thanx
anyway, any suggestion for multiple selection of deleting contacts? and my other problem that in sim manager there's a "/1" sign at the end of all contact names... dont u have same issue?

[Q] Syncronising Contact List via Microsoft My Phone

Hi there..
I'm going to ask you very simple question.
Is there a way to import contact list to android via Microsoft My Phone service?
I have more than 200 contacts in my contact list.
Its easy thing to do but kind'a waste of time..
How do the starters import their list for the very first time?
NOT: I also tried to syncronize my SD android via pimbackup data. I had it done once but the syncronisation thing.. i couldnt find where i should do it.
Just a newbie question
Thank You
I found no way to sync my android with myphone... sorry
Outlook exchange is easiest way for me. MyPhone is a WinMo application/service (Microsoft), and so won't run on android.
Can also use gmail, m:IQ (no idea, just read it somewhere else), myBackup (Again, just read it). Also search market for "contacts" will produce many apps to back them up to SD card.
Hope This Helps.

4. The extracted file should be BACKUP.CSC. Simply change the extension to .CSV and import the file to your gmail account.
All your contacts can now be imported to your phone through gmail
But how? There is no import/file upload menu in our gmal settings
That is where im stuck!
- just follow the instructions given in the phone's contact menu.

[Q] How to save/import contacts to SIM card?

Hi guys, I recently reinstalled windows from 7 to 7.5 but I lost all the contacts which I added onto my phone since I was on 7. There was no options that I saw to "save to sim card or save to phone" like most other phones out there so I dont know where they are saved.. I had a brain wave about the fact that the contacts were "linked" with my email account but there is only the emails saved. I am wondering if the numbers are saved somewhere or, each time I have to reinstall I will have to ask fro their numbers every time? Has anyone else had this happen?
Please let me know as I really want to update my rom and radio for better battery life!
Many thanks,
Marc
you cant save contacts to SIM card.. not compatible... phone automatically save contacts to your Live account (and you never loose contacts if you not loose your login data ) this is only if you login to Live account with your phone (and also live activation code entered)
you can access online to your account contact list via
http://mail.live.com/?rru=contacts
ahh yes, i see it now, so then I can export the whole list as a .csv file too. Now I sign in on my phone and can add it to the phone directory? Sorry if its nooby but I cant seem to access anything like that through the dedicated email app? Juat on internet explorer?
Marc
if you have mails in contacts list, you simply use mail app
and again, all is simple... you thinking too much simple: add Live account to phone and all is solved... all your contacts be saved and you not loose it and you use this contacts with phone or computer...
i give you this link http://mail.live.com/?rru=contacts to access it via computer (if you need to change contacts very easy if need it), not with WP7...
pda v8 has this function build-in
