Hi,
My Windows contacts seems ot have dissapeared.
I installed an app called PCM Contact and thathas taken over as the default. I also have Vito Fun Contact installed and sometimes that launched when i press contact instead.
When i uninstall PCMContact, and click on contacts it complains that PCMContact is missing?
Weird thing is earlier today, it came back without me doing anything at all...
Any ideas?

No - not necessarily true! Maybe you have just had a bad experience with some programs.
Solution?
So wat would the solution be?
Ive found that if get the error and then go contacts via the slider and click in contact then the problem seems toncorrect itself, but it cmes again

I upgraded from WM5 to Black a couple of weeks ago, and it's been great. I just have a couple of minor things I couldn't find answers for.
1- Is there a way to make it so the contacts on the SIM don't show up in the main contact list?
2- What's the latest version of Windows Live Messenger that doesn't force you to add your Messenger contacts to your WM6 contacts list? I installed the build 1400 included with the add-ons on the Black site, and then spent a while deleting all of them from my contacts list.
With the numerous contacts that I have to have with work already, adding the multiple numbers for each person on the SIM listing plus all of the Messenger contacts really makes the list almost unmanageable. Please help...
Latest verison is 10.6.0030.0600. Grab that and hunt through the options.
Oh, and if you've manually deleted all your contacts from the phones contact list DO NOT try to connect or open Windows Live again, or you may find that it will delete all the contacts from your MSN list too!

Well, I really like everything else about the ROM I'm using, so I guess I'll have to look for some way to install it independently, if possible.

yes hunt for kaiser tweak and it will do the trick.

Hi. Sad to say all the Windows Live contacts are already in my contact list. Is there anyway to delete them without MSN deleting them too when i try to connect to Windows Live again?

Start -> Programs -> Windows Live -> Menu -> Account Options -> Switch Windows Live ID.
Answer Yes and it should remove all the MSN contacts from your contact list.

One minor issue. This version of WLM keeps resetting itself to only check email manually after I set it to check each 15 minutes. Any ideas?
i have not sync my phone with PC since last 2 months,and when i connect my phone today with PC,screen pop-up and there were 3 options.
1) do you want to combine contacts from pc to device
2)do you want to remove contacts from device and sync with outlook
3) donot do anything at this time.
so i press option 1
And now i lost my new contacts from my device which i have added in last 2 months.
i can only see contacts which i had in my outlook.
is there any way i can do undo or something so i can get my contacts back in my device?

i still have pim volume in my device,i tried to read it with MS Excel & MS Word pad,but its giving me all symbols,i cant read it,Any idea on that??
And do you guys think that pim volume now i have on my device still has old contacts after active sync??

the pim.vol cannot be read through conventional means (i.e. MS office) i remember a program that u can get to read it i dont remember the name though
whatever is on your phone is whats gonna be in the pim file

Synced up my Touch HD this morning and lol and behold, all my contacts started doubling up. Any one else experienced this issue? Or am I doing something really really stupid? This happened with my omnia too..

You sholud use the SKtools to erradicate the doubles.

Both from the same device.
I believe it is currently displaying the Outlook and MSN contacts.
Any way to make it ONLY show the Outlook contacts?
It's a known bug with activesync i know from old Hermes times. If you have this problem the fu..k will double the contacts each synchronizing.
Recommend new sync installation and new start-up synchro.
Yes, one list is from your Outlook contacts, and the other appears from your MSN list when you sync.
Go into the Windows Live sync options and de-select the Store WL Contacts.
I'm not sure if this will delete the doubledup contacts, but will prevent further download of MSN contacts in the future (so you might need to tidy up yoiur contacts list just once).

Anyone know why both tick boxes are un-untickable for me?
If you delete your hotmail/live/msn ID in Windows Live options. When you recreate your ID the checkboxes shouldn't be greyed out. It seems to be a one time only choice.

i have this, but i think its phone contacts, andcontacts saved to the sim card.
as i deleted all contacts in sim card and now only have one set of numbers.

I have this problem too, however I can't seem to find the option to delete the my hotmail/live/msn ID. May i know how do I go about deleting them?
Im having a real issue with my contacts on my new hd2.
Outlook displays them perfectly but my hd2 for some reason lists them last/first which i find very annoying.
Anyone any ideas or solutions?

I found out hat the HTC interface sorts contacts using the outlook field DISPLAY AS, which bt default is LAST, FIRST.
I had to go thru all my contacts in outlook an dchange the DISPLAY AS field into FIRST LAST

Hi thanks for posting the cab, but for some reason its not working for me.
I've installed > restarted the phone > went into contacts, but still the same e.g. Lasr, First.
Please could give a brief explanation on how to get it to rearrange the contacts?

After you install the .cab file you have to go in to the program folder and start the app that was installed. But if you sync ur contacts with a google account they will go back to last,first name after each sync.

I made a mistake, a bad bad mistake of synchronizing my windows live contacts to my ALL contacts. everytime i delete those WL contacts it will return some way or another. IS there anyway to not letting them synchronizing again other than a wipe?

ok, just found out.
by signing out and then sign in back again via creation of new account option ( sign in back your old account), all your sync contacts will disappear
just remember not to select the sync options again.

no, i do not have this issue did u do a double copy of your contacts? that might happen , as i inferred from the SIM manager options
