hello forum,
i really hope there is someone out there that knows enough to help me.i have already posted here on the forum a few days ago since my phone on a o2 xda is not working anymore after a recent upgrade.There are also several bugs and problem and the device crashes in some occasions (i.e when i tap the volume button).
i decided to try to downgrade to a previous official version directly downloaded from the o2 web site.I t is the version 3.17.
LOOK WHAT HAPPEN WHEN I TRY TO INSTALL IT.
It cames up this error 012: check error:
The ROM image that you are trying to upgrade is not compatible to your pocket pc.

It looks like you installed a 4.00.10 or 4.00.16 ROM from the kitchen. You will need to use the bootloader method before you're able to get back to something else.
Cook a 3.17.03 ROM in the ROMkitchen, and get it as a zipped .nb1 file. Also get the XDAtools and run that exe file. Insert an SD-card (whose contents you do not care about) in the XDA and stick it in the cradle. Then right-click on the .nb1 file from the zip, select to write it to SD-card. Wait for that to finish (the indication of that isn't all too clear yet). Then restart the XDA in bootloader mode by holding the power button while performing a soft-reset (big hole on the bottom). Then hit the center of the rocker keypad when it asks you to press 'Action', wait for the counter to finish, and you're all set.
You're life will be slightly easier if, next time you upgrade, you stay away from T-Mobile ROMs.
I have this X01HT that my sister gave me. I was able to change the language using the following.

I think this is Windows Mobile 5. I want now to upgrade it Windows Mobile 6. I found these 2 files here.

Questions:
1. What ROM shall I use to upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 (HTC_TyTN_WWE_3.54.255.3_6275_1.48.00.10_108 or Schaps_WM6Pro_WWE_4.01_Full)?
2. Shall I use the SSPL-HERM that I downloaded from this forum to enter into bootloader or shall I press at the same time the POWER button and OK button?
3. How can I upgrade my Radio Version?
4. What other enhancement I can do with my X01HT?
5. Can someone help me unlock my X01HT? I tried using HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a but no luck. Is there another way to do it without paying?

So, I have a Wizard with T-mobile logo on it. Display has been changed, 'cause the original was broken. New display has been buyed from *-bay. Both displays are the same. When put the new display in the Wizard, everything looks fine, except the 8-bit color on the skreen ;( . Last night i read and make step by step things in this Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613 , but i need to stop on step G3.4 - i have a success update from step G3.3 with CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE, but when i start the Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2, there is an error - 206 (on italian).
After that, i have read the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435 thread, and started again... First update has been successfull (maybe), the Wizard started with Winmobile 5 (WM6 has been installed before starting updates).
That's the specs:

rom date 2/02/07
radio: 01.12.10
rom version: 6.0.0.0 wwe
protokol version: 4.0.13.23
extRom version: Empty Extended (before updating)
Now, after 1st update are:

Else, i have install ActiveSync, but the program did not find any Wizard attached to the computer..
For first update, i connect and started wizard in bootable mode (3 color display, with 'usb' icon down left...
After restart, when starts normally, AS 4.5 didn't find it...
Can somebody explain me in a few simple steps what to do...

You have downgraded your phone to IPL/SPL 1.xx by flashing Button's Rom 1.05.there's no need to flash wizard_love_Rom,instead download and apply lokiwiz02b tool to SIM/CID unlock the phone and then download T-mobile 2.26 and flash to upgrade to IPL/SPL 2.xx for upgrading to wm6.The above guide was written quite a while ago,its better you follow the most updated guide as in the link below:-

Thanks a lot zabardast_1, but I have 1 problem - Activesync didn't find any Pocket, attached to the computer, so i can't make the steps in the tutorial.. the pocket is SIM unlocked.

Is your phone working normal,does it load up to OS ? to check the connectivity,get the phone into bootloaders(tricolor screen) connect via usb cable and check if usb appears at the bottom of the bootloaders,if not then there's a connectivity problem,either with usb cable or the mini usb port of the phone.
if the phone works normal and loads OS,then you can even try to use lokiwiz02b or WST tool via BT and CID unlock the phone.
It's normal working, like I said in my 1st post - 8bit color. I think it's from OS, but i'm not sure - i have downgrade form WM6 to WM5, and the problem is still here .
In bootload mode have indication for USB - bottom left on the screen, the battery has charging, but ActiveSync still don't want to find my Wizard..
P.S. Pfffff, I decline to fight with that.... Monday i'll test with other USB cable. Even it charging battery, i think ActiveSync can't recognize the Wizard, because USB cable is failed somewhere,...

If its working normal and it establishes connectivity through usb as it appears in the bootloaders,then,its the AS software,which is not detecting.Assuming you are using winXP,Delete all partnerships/profiles in the settings of the AS or Uninstall As and download the latest version 4.5 and install it,close any Antivirus/Firewall or any other software which might be hindering with AS and let it again activesync.Also remember to uncheck 'Enable advanced network functionality' in the settings...> connections...> usb to pc options in your phone.
Hello again. I try to install 3 versions of AS, but the result is the same - No Connection. reset the wizard 3 times, stop all running software - ICQ, Skype, antivirus, browser... no and no.
When AS looking for device, there is 7 8 COM ports, Infrared (no installed), USB available, but AS can't find my bluetooth...
I have install bluetooth, and make connection with the wizard, but i can't unlock with lokiwiz02b-HTC Unlocker.
Better try on other winXP based pc

I have a O2 Xda Orbit (in the wiki, the cruiser version).
Whenever I run the update tool to update whatever (splash screen gsm radio version, rom) it spits out this error:
The Image file is corrupted. Please check your Update Utility
What is wrong?

Are you in Windows Vista? (Try Windows XP)
Do you have an SDHC card? (Take it off)
And don't forget to run USPL before you flash anything.
Also you can search for a newer version of the update utility (although I don't know if that will work).

USPL is the one that makes my screen show a tux pinguin, right? (how cool... can we run linux on that? )
if I run uspl firts it freezes showing a penguin and its not connected to computer via activesync, therefore not able to connect with rom updater

read carefully before update and make a backup of your Contacts and/or tasks and calendar
Attention: YOUR DEVICE HAS TO BE UNLOCKED and preferably have your Original ROM in case of problem...!
you can find your Original ROM in htc.com / support (from your device region).
and the instruction:
1- your device has to be ON and have at least 50% battery
2- connect to your PC and wait to have the green "connected" icon on active sync
3- run sspl_mini >>>> you will get a message on your device click YES as fast as possible!
4- your device will go to a tricolor screen and you will get an error again on SSPL.
5- DO NOT PANIC! your device will stay on tricolor screen and will have USB down the screen
6- restart SSPL and follow instruction....
7- New rom will install!!!!
