Poor YouTube audio quality with HTC Streaming Media player

Has any one else experienced extremely poor audio quality with the HTC Streaming Media program on the Touch Dual? (Viewing vides from m.youtube.com)?
Using the HTC Streaming Media player on my Treo 750 the quality was decent but on the Touch Dual it is so poor that it is essentially not usable and I'm hoping that somebody knows 1) why and 2) how to fix it.
I've searched the forums and found plenty of information referencing watching YouTube on the phone but nothing that hits on my problem.
Thanks,
Bob
hi
try the diamond streaming player it has also bad quality but it feels like its better u can find it in the hack and dev section in the diamond apps thread
editr use the youtube player, it s slower at streaming but it has same video/audio quality as on pc! you can also find on this forum
Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I did try one of the YouTube players but for whatever reason it could never find any Videos (I didn't put alot of effort into figuring out why.)
Still would like to know why the audio quality with the default streaming player is so poor . . .
hi,
im currently using coreplayer 1.2.4 for youtube. the simply BEST player!!! i could send you cab if you want, you can set streaming options for high, medium and low quality. high works nice and smooth here! htc streaming player is worse quality because its streaming over RTSP. but coreplayer can also stream over h264, which has waayyyyy better quality

Using Super to convert Video - Quick Question

Guys,
I'm using Super as per this link ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3103846&postcount=394 ) to re-encode my video files for optimum playing on my Touch HD.
However whenever I choose Flash video it shows he output file to be an SWF and not FLV.
I have a later build than that shown in the picture and I can't get it to say FLV.
Can somebody help?
Thanks
EDIT: Scrap that I clicked encode and it gave me the option then...sorry - consider closed
hold up a sec pls.
this is even more of a newb question but..
What if you just want to covert a simple naughty mpg file from limewire etc?
would you still need to buy Coreplayer to get good result?
I'm using the old settings from my n95 atm so any basic settings appreciated.
That's a good question. quite frankly my Artemis was easier to use in terms of video playback...I encoded with PocketDivxEncoder and made the res smaller and job done. However I find lots of videos playing better in ALBUM than in Coreplayer (which is shocking in most flicks to be fair).
I have yet to find a "one size fits all" guide. I grab mostly XVIDs and want to convert them (I'm now downloading 720p rips and I'll see how they convert to FLV)...I converted a 720p trailer to FLV and it's lovely!
oh ok thanks.
I really have read up a bit more on the Wiki or other stickies cos I think I understood about two words of that second paragraph
I just wanna convert some free porn that's all..
If you want the perfect videos for the Touch HD, use this tool:
HTC Touch Video Converter
It has the optimal settings and is very easy to use.
...and it also doesn't give me very good videos to play - I think perhaps it's my source vid?
I used the coverter for more than 100 files already (HDTV and SDTV) and all have very good quality.
One thing is important for playback:
You MUST use Windows Media Player or the HTC Album for playback !
Only these programs can utilize the hardware acceleration and you need it, because the converted files are close to the maximum the HD can play.
If you still don't get good results, I guess you are right and the source file isn't the best.
Maybe you try some other files to see where the problem is.

Media Player on TD2

Hi.
I have a HTC Touch Diamond 2 and it can't play .avi video by default
I tried TCPMP but it doesn't work.
Do you have a other software or plug-in for manila to play .avi ?
Thanks!
There's so much on this forum already on the subject...
Buy Coreplayer, you won't regret it, it'll fulfil all your video needs. Bear in mind you won't always be able to play full resolution / bitrate videos successfully, some will need to be downsized. Again, there's loads of threads on the topic.
I use CorePlayer works full-wide-screen 800x480 without troubles.
try core player. its good!
Thanks!
Sorry this subject, which already exists.

Encoding videos for HTC Hero

I've looked around the site and seen some instructions for converting videos like .avi for playback on the htc hero, but I was just wondering what was the best, most recent way for playback, quality, sound etc etc.
I used to use Total Video Converter to just convert them for me, but I'd like a better way.. if there is one.
Thanks guys.
Use an app called handbrake. You should be fine to use the ipod settings. Give it a try, its free.
follow this guide! great video playback and quality
