Clicking loudspeaker (and noise) ? - Touch 3G General

Has anyone noticed this: Everytime time the (back) speaker starts playing, you can hear a clicking noise. And when you stop playing music, sounds, etc. you can hear it click again (after a few seconds).
It seems like the back speaker gets tuned on and off on demand. When it's on, you can also hear white noise coming out of the speaker. It stops when the speaker gets turned off.
The clicking is quite loud...it's not so loud when using headphones.

It is either really quiet or non-existent on my phone, since i did not notice it yet.

The best way to test this is probably:
- Quiet environment
- Press the red button (in touchflo for example)
- The will cause a short click, the a beep sound is played...and about 3-5 seconds later you will hear the click again.

true it happens on mine too, never noticed it...

i did like you said, and when holding the phone speaker right to my ear i can hear the white noise and the "switch-off" clicking when the speaker is disabled. then the noise is also gone. But to notice this i had to go to another (quiet) room and hold it to my ear, its really quiet. maybe yours is louder...

Strange. I've been using my Jade for over a month now. Don't seem to experience that problem. No funny sound. Or maybe it's too soft for me to realise.

Thanks for your replies.
I recorded this effect by putting the speaker directly to the mic of my laptop.

You can hear the click, then the beep, then the white noise, then the click again (to turn off the speaker).
I put the volume of my phone to low. So the click is actually louder than the beep.
I guess there could be bugs worse than this. But it bothers me when the phone plays system sounds like a simple beep. The click is louder than the sound...
I just wonder if it is a general bug or only a bug on my phone.

handset incall speaker issue

I was wondering...if anyone hears a clicking sound when the other party on the line is loud. This is when the phone is in normal mode ie no speaker phone or headset.
Brand new phone, but i feel like its the cone of the speaker hitting the housing or something. I guess it could be a popping sound but is more like a clicking sound and i have to turn the volume down and it goes away. Certain letter anounciations seem to cause this.
maybe i should just get a headset!

[Q] Noisy music playback

hi,
I noticed i always have a bit of noise behind music. At silent parts you really hear that there's static-like noise in the background. Tested with various tracks, always 320kb/s quality. You can hear it over the integrated speaker too, so it's not my headphones.
Anybody else notice this? Is that "normal" for the Omnia 7 or did I get a bad unit?
I think thats normal for all device? need a second opinion, could be wrong. Usually the noise stops when nothing is being played though.
Can't hear any static myself ? Just played a few 320kb Deadmau5 tracks, On some closed cup headphones, and out the rear speaker, Sounds perfect out the headphones, But isn't exactly studio quaility out the speaker phone and never will be the size it.
I only never notice it if i'm listening late at night when everything else is silent. Otherwise its not a problem. Call me an old fart too, but i complain about all devices these days that they dont go quiet enough! Volume level 1 is too loud lol!
havent noticed any sounds other than the music but i have noticed that most tracks skip at the end of the track. Anyone else noticed this?

Must agree on te vol 1 setting, it's almost my old 3310 loud setting lol
i will do some more testing, is there a track you could suggest that you have heard this most ? and at what volume.
Not had any trouble with the tracks skipping ether. thought it did a good job of blending together tbh.
I've found that when playing video files, quiet moments tend to just be muted.
For example in a film if the scene is busy and noisy it's fine but then if it were to cut to a scene where two people are quietly talking i get no sound. It's almost like it's noise cancelling.
If i turn the volume up there is no problem.

Speaker noise when turning off screen

When I press the screen turn-off button on the top right side of the phone the speaker makes a "click" noise.
This is not the same sound that it makes when it types - it is more of an electrical discharge click or noise due to the speaker amp turning off.
Does anybody else have this happen when they turn the screen off with a quick click of the top right side button?
This seems like a really odd sound for the phone to make every time one turns the screen off.
thanks.
Both our Focus phones do this so I guess it's normal.
If you mean the clicking sound,
its an optional sound that plays when locking/unlocking.

Does your speaker continue to run for a few seconds after a sound plays?

I noticed this last night because I was in a quiet room and I'm probably being overly paranoid about it. An example, if you open up sounds and then notifications for instance, click on a sound. I can hear a very slight click of the speaker coming on, it plays the notification sound and then for about 2-3 seconds after that, I can hear a slight noise of the speaker still being powered and then it shuts off.
My only real concern is the slight click noise of the speaker coming on since I checked a few other phones I have and this doesn't happen. Like I said, probably paranoid but was curious if this is normal.

Normal. Every speaker does this. Don't worry.

Galaxy S8 Clicking noise coming from earpiece

I recently started to hear faint clicking/ticking noises coming from the earpiece while having phone calls on my S8 (I heard those noises in the past but I thought they were caused by the other person on the call).
I downloaded an app called "Earpiece" (that lets you listen to music trough the earpiece instead of the speakers) and the ticking noises persist (even if I'm not having a phone call).
What's even weirder than that, I actually discovered that the earpiece makes those noises all the time (even when I'm not listening to anything and I'm not having a phone call), but they are not that loud.
I found that if I turn Airplane Mode on (without Wifi enabled), the noises stop. To give you some concrete examples:
- Connected to network( + WiFi on): Earpiece makes those noises at all times.
- Airplane Mode on + Wifi on: Earpiece makes noises at all times.
- Airplane Mode on + WiFi off: Earpiece doesn't make any noises. If I listen to offline music trough the earpiece (using "Earpiece" app) there are also no clicking noises.
* Those clicking noises don't have a constant rythm (they sometimes stop for a second or two).
*If I press my ear to the earpiece a bit, I can hear them very very well.
What do you think might cause this?
Thanks.
I am also suffering from a similar issue.
I haven't much noticed if it is there with wifi on or off etc, but it is really irritating.
Samsung says if you can prove we can refund, but it is really difficult to prove. I have noticed that when I press the phone hard on my ears the noise diminishes but doesn't go away.
is your problem solved, please share an update or any other please suggest a workaround.
Thanks
even i am facing same issue after updating to 8.0 beta version
Strange clicking from my Samsung S8+.
I have been hearing a strange clicking sound from my smartphone. Not being used or on charger, it makes this clicking sound that is very quiet but others do hear it. Is there an app that would cause this?
Having same issue seems to be the WiFi makes faint clicking noises while it's transferring data back and to anyone resolved the problem. Only an issue while I am on the phone
I have this issue as well- but it is so quiet you can't hear it unless the room your in in pretty silent
If you open the camera app and listen to the call speaker it gets alot worse. Think it's the WiFi mechanism vibrating against the outo focus mechanism of the camera
