I updated to WM6.1 (20757) recently and appreciate the work on that much.
Coming originally from a German WM6.0, I would like to make use of a German keyboard and a German XT9 (making SMS and email typing easier).
Everything else could stay in English.
I had contact with imgfs_tools briefly, but frankly it is still a secret to me.
Any hints how to switch the keyboard and XT9 to German language?

PS: A fully blown German WM6.1 ROM isn't needed.

I have flashed Ver 1.1 then 1.2 on my O2-Asia, and several T-Mobile and SX56 of my friends and business partners. No accident so far.
Congratulations and thanks to xda-developers. Even went once to WM 2003, then back to ver 1.2. Never touched radio upgrades though.
Questions from a newbie : can I cook my own ROM in French with Jeff's kitchen ? Assuming I would have a basic ROM (from Bouygues ?), will it mix with other apps in English ? If it works, should I upgrade the radio part too ?

I was thinking of creating some elaborate translation mechanism with lots of search/replace strings for the ROMkitchen. Then I figured most people really only want the keyboard layout and word-completion for the language they speak and the keyboard they're used to.
We have a volunteer currently looking into what would be involved in creating our own keyboard layouts and completion dictionaries. Stay tuned...
well as french using an UK o2 XDA in France i was alson wondering, but i remember trying to put an english rom on my french version ipaq 3 month ago, i realized that bootloader of the device is also looking for language so that i was not able to update it to wince 2003 eng cause it was e franch device.
actually to solve my problem on the xda which is only for me to manage a azerty keyboard with french accent i use a software that change the keyboard.
That would be great to have the diferent language dictionaries, keyb and os language files nevertheless, but seems to be quite a hard job ...

Agree that most of us will be happy only to have a French layout keyboard. For the rest, English is now the universal computer language, whether we like it or not : we must do with it.
BTW which kbd software do you use ?

Hi,
The only workaround so far is to use the on-screen input. No wordprediction though. I have Resco Keyboard installed and I use it for all input I need to do.

Just flashed my Polaris to Bepes WM 6.1 build 0.67. So far it is working like a charm
Any ideas how to get Norwegian keyboard and xT9 dictionary?

I gave up trying to cook a norwegian rom myself. I went back to the stock 6.0 norwegian rom. There are very few additions to 6.1 (mostly threaded SMS) that I really found useful.
Atleast the stock rom had nowegian keybord and XT9 working.
Yes, I am thinking about going back myself. Running Norwegian XT9 is more valuable that threaded sms...
in kaiser forums there is a cab norsk tastatur med xt9

It's Gullums Diamond keyboard. Works like a charm for with, flashed with udk R8 rom.
Already tried that
Gollums keyboard is nice, however impossible to uninstall.
You dont have a norsk cab for xt9 support ?

Attached is a Norwegian Diamond style Keypad with T9.
100% working, made it myself and been using it for a while.

Hi,
I wanna use dutch xT9 on my UK Polaris.
I read a lot of topic's about that and tweaked my device only with no results.
I copied the dutch xT9 files and made/add some regsettings but can not choose the dutch language in settings-input-touch keybaord-options-language. I only see english/french/Italian/German\a lot of nothing and Swedish.
Who can help to resolve this problem?

Version 3 includes XT9 in Dutch... If you can't find dutch in the row of supported languages, it is one of the blank (in my case it was the empty row above Russia).

Hi. I have this nice phone. I have problem with language. I have it in hungarian and I am czech. I need english or czech localisation. maybe if sb have rom 6.1 in czech or english. I was search everywhere. Please help me.
Sorry but how I understand they stop developing hard-spl and without it we will not be able flash the rom. I have the same problem my phone is in french and I need english too
