Turn on HD - Touch HD General

Hi all, I would like to ask how can we turn on my HD without press the power bottom. I hope just press the volume bottom to turn on the screen.

Do you mean wake up from sleep or turn on from power off?

Yes, it's very simple : get out the stylus and *voila*, your HD is ready to work

How do you do this in practice? Some kind of regedit tool?

Yes you need a tool to edit the registry.
There are free one's you can download (Google pocketpc registry editor) but I use the one that comes with Resco Explorer.

Sorry, found the way.

wouldnt it be usefull to somehow use the gsensor to wake it? Like shaking.
Your talking, the screen goes black, you need to see the screen and shakes it hard 2 times right in the middle of conversation.
Would it be possible?

This is great tip especially if you combine it with S2U2 "Slide to unlock"

Turn on using "Home"
Could you tell me how can we turn on HD press "Home" button ?

Miland, any ideas on how HTC control the hardware 'Home button' in the registry? I've been wading through for hours trying to find something as I want to do something similar and "unbind" the key. I previously used AEButtonPlus, but the Home key isn't in the list of configurable buttons on that application, I've emailled the author obviously.
So I thought a brute force approach of changing the registry entry would be the way, but finding it isn't easy!

How to remap right softkey to "Standby" or Sleep!

Hi all,
I do not know if that is a silly question or not :$ but I wanted to change the manila home right soft key to sleep phone ("Standby")..Have PsShut but dont like everytime to open the program to able to put phone into sleep mode..also have Advanced Config program but do not know if it is possible to map in advanced config app the right soft key to sleep..
Btw, I have original 1.93 ROM.
Thanks million.
I have mapped power button to shutdown app I can choose action seft reset turn off device or just turn off display but I dont understand your question because single click power button sleep your device...youre NOOB man!!!
Well, I have managed to remap the right softkey on home screen to togle between ring and vibrate.
I am using little prog Vibra (Switch) that is mapped to the key.
Just two registry settings:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\HomeRSKPath="Program Files\Vibra (Switch)\Vibra (Switch).exe"
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\HomeRSKText="whatever you want displayed on the soft key"
I got the inspiration for this setting from the "Second Today" Tweak.

lol..your great dude. Thanks for the precious answer. Your "the" man.
2nd: What makes you that upset that I want to use a soft key to sleep my device better than the power button?? Its easier to sleep the device via a soft key than a hw one.
Dont pass by again . Thanks.

Locked Keys

Hi
One thing i miss from my old touch is the option to have the hardware keys Unlocked so the phone can be turned on with the press of any button and not just the power button
I did not find any such option in the settings menus , can anyone provide any solution ?? ( e.g registry hack )
Thanks
I didn't understand exactly what you mean, but you can lock the phone when press and hold the right button (default setting) and unlock from touch screen after that.

True. However, I remember in Kaiser (TyTn II) there is a lock icon where you can lock the phone just by tapping it. Does anyone know what application Jade uses (to lock when we press n hold the right button) so that we can put somewhere like in the Programs tab. Thanks.
what he meant is that the "device lock" icon is not in the setting anymore. i miss this function as well..
not sure if they left it out in the stock rom... now everytime i want to use the phone i would need to press the power button
I mapped my left softkey to lock the phone...
Just point to \Windows\EndKey.exe
HTH...

But still, what about buttons?
try this
Do this reg edit and then you can press the up or down volume key and it will wake up from sleep-no need to hit power button anymore
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd
set key: defaultkeylock
from 1
to 0
softreset - that's it.
Nice quick fix, but it will show the sound level for a few seconds
Hello, indeed looks very nice, but is this fix really wake-up the device from a "power off" state, or just from a "screen off state ?

Suspend the HD

Hi All,
Is there any small application, which can simulate I press the power button?
Because the power button is hard to press, I wish to add a shortcut to this application, and tap the screen instead.
I found some which is to turn off the screen only, but I want to put the machine in suspend mode just like press the power button.
Thanks.

Thats not true, you are pressing the button in the wrong way .
Read this.
If you really want a application that can suspend your device look for psShutXp or iLauncher. I think there are really many applications able to do that.
sure there are tons of applications for pocketpc which when started turn off the pda
http://www.google.dk/search?source=...off+program&btnG=Google-søgning&meta=lr=&aq=f
used a few of them myself works just fine
Haa......I also read this post before, I knew how to press the power button correctly......
To be more precise, I don't want to press the power button frequently in order to protect it from damage.

Hi,
How do you change the soft key to this exe.
And can this exe be used to wake up the device by tapping on the screen.
Thanks
You can modify it by changing registry
\HKLM\Software\HTM\Manila\HomeLSK* and HomeRSK* values.
I think a hardware trigger is needed if you want to wake up the device.
To wake up by tapping on the screen, the device cannot be in suspend mode then, just the screen is off.

Titanium Home/Back hw button

I'm using my HD2 with titanium plug-in but I've a problem.
I'am wondering if there is a registry tweak which takes me to the Clock Panel with a short press of the hardware home button or back button like it was on my old HD touch.
As usual thank you for your attention.
