Does anyone know how to activate the keypad (e.g. the four buttons on the bottom of the HD) during the screen is off.
If the screen is off:
They only work during a call is active.
Otherwise they do not work.
Any idea how to change this?

Actually my question is more dev related.
Since I would like to know how to let the keypad working while my app
turns the screen off.

I have this problem: sometimes the screen becomes white, and after rebooting (but not always) returns normal. the keys hardware do not work, but only those on the flip flowing.
I have upgrade the software, wm6 or wm5, radio from 1,43 to 1,50, ri-unblocked. nothing. the problem remains.
solutions? ideas!?

If you look at the list of posts near the top you will see a sticky post called "search XDA-Dev using Google" all you need to do is enter a few key words like white screen.
As an example here are the results I got. The one top of the list is relevant:

Mine had the same problem ...just sent it back under warranty...got a replacement in a couple of days

I just upgraded my ROM and the slider is hidden and pops up when you touch the little arrow. How can I get the slider to stay up all the time?

Just look in the first post of the thread where you downloaded your rom... the answer is right there... And I have been searching for... 10 sec. :s
What do i need to edit to increase the timeout of the capacitive buttons? Im sure everyone is in this boat - the backlight switches off after two seconds or so of inactivity...

Thats an interesting one...I have no idea (until now I was a WM user), but I would be glad to kwno how to increase the timeout. Shouldn't it be locked to the display timeout? Would make sense in my opinion...

I can't find the timeout... I guess its the same timeout like for the Lockscreen 5000ms.
I could only do a workarround, something like everytime when the light turns off... my app turns it on. But thats a little bit dirty ;-)
I imagine that this will not be easy, as there is a development thread over in the SGS forum about Back Light Notifications (BLN).
It can only be achieved through flashing a modified kernel - and as I understand it, the dev tried many different methods to get it to work until deciding on the current method.

could some one tell us how to lock all hardware keys except power boutton
we have this problem when the device is in pocket sometimes the device wakes up by accidentlly touching any boutton (yes all of them wakes the device)
and when it wakes up, sometimes the screen is unlocked (accidentlly sliding the ring )
i'm using holo locker and this thing happends commonly
please help...
