I would like to start by saying I have found this forum to be extremely helpful and THANK YOU! I have been able to find any tweak, program, cab, etc... by searching the web (usually ending up on this site), but I can not find a solution to this problem.
I no longer have the "flash" button on the camera software. The phone works fine, the camera works fine, it takes pics, I just have no "flash" option anymore. I'm sure it was due to some tweak I did...maybe trying a prog to use the camera led as a flashlight (not sure). My question is, is there a way to restore or a cab to reinstall the camera? led/flash? or both? I dont mind getting really technical if needed.

I heard the same issue when some people starts to increase the image size on mms pics so you can start there search a forum called something like mms pictures shrink or somethink like that hahahaha Is nice to see starting members that use the search before ask something but you need to have more imagination to search more.

you know...i did have to reinstall the sms/mms...so i'll be you are right...had something to do with that...i'll check it out
btw, trust me, i searched for everything i could think of...i had no logical reason to relate my problem to sms (it works just fine)

I would like to be able to program one of the buttons to turn on the flash, it takes too long to sometimes open the cammera so I would like to get the flash to go on.. (and on the brighter light also).. any ideas, links?

Just to make this clear - at the time of this writing, vijay's utility does not work on the HTC Wizard. If anybody has an HTC Wizard to spare to send to him, he can probably make it work

Just got a TyTn. Quite a change from my old K800, but im sure i'll adjust.
Ive been reading around here for a few weeks now in antisipation of my TyTn arriving. So know a few things already, like the highly rated 'batti' battery app.
I have a few questions about it though that i cant find definate answers on:
- Is it possible to have custom ringtones for each contact?
- How do i close programs? As at the moment they just seem to minimise, and the only way i can find to actually close them is through the memory app in settings.
- How do i install the today screen app called 'Launcher' its not a cab file like the rest of the programs ive installed.
- Is there a today screen plugin i can use to lock the phone when i press it?
- Some of my contacts are listed as 'elliot, fred' rarther than 'fred elliot'. How do i fix that?
- Is it possible to have full screen contact images? Ive got contact images setup for a few of my contacts, but they only ever show up as a tiny icon when opening a txt (havnt tryed incoming calls yet), is there a way to make it so that when i get a txt i get the picture instead of/extra to the standard popup?
- Emoticons. How/can i put them in txt messages? (actually view them, not the pure text equilivent.).

Ok I tried to help, but geez dude. I think this forum may be a little advanced for you. There are plenty of other websites and forums that can help you with these questions. Before you post any more questions:
1. Read The Windows Mobile Manual
2. Learn how to use the search function
3. Spend a little more time reading
4. Read a little more.
5. Come back and post questions when you ACTUALLY have a phone. THis way you can try to figure things out on the phone before you start asking questions.

locking thread to prevent a full on n00b assault...
please use this post - only ifg you have the bug + fix, so that itje can use it very easy on next rom !
bug:
1.) creating a CONTACT after dialing.
after dialing new number: then you can create to this new number a contact.
but then you won't see the text it self, because i think it is black on black background .... so you have to do it as blind
2.) dailer: switch between the contacts - no number is showing.
if you go to the dialer seraching for a contact, then you find one of them and then you can change the kind of phone with left/right , then normally you should see the phone number in big letters from contact, but YOU DON'T SEE THE NUMBER
3.) on connection manager - WIFi on/off button.
BUG FIX:
=======
1.+2.) use attached cab file - and install this, then it works
+ additional i had include black dialer skin files - copy to \windows
3.) on connection manager - WIFi on/off button.
-> after first activation-> look in to the comm manager -> then it works hole the time. sorry, i'm not sure which regkey had to be set, that it works from beginning.

are this bugs confirmed by other users or are only you experiencing this ones ? Would be better if you check that !

I have allready adressed the "bugs/issues/glitches" with the graphics in dialer and on other apps.
And as I have said, I will try to have them all fixed, but im working with a fixlist, and I am trying to follow the list step by step. But as I also have mentioned many times, is that when I fix some "bug" then a new one surface.
I cant fix everything, I know only so mutch, and are still learning as I do this.
I am gonna try make a rom that work for most, but stuff like I dont like this or that..really guys....I must admit I dont care.
just an example, nobody needs to feel I step on their feelings:
When ppl comes and say a rom is useless because it has iContact (or w/e) then they really gotta stop and start using that rasin that floats around in the vacum inside their heads
(I mean no offence to thread starter. I do not mind ppl trying to help out to find sollutions to issues. I have asked for it many times that if you find a issue, and if you perhaps find the sollution. Then I appreciate it if its posted, with the source of the fix. It really saves me time.
SO..basicly...I dont mind this thread, as long as it can be kept clean from reports of issues reported 30 times before...but hey, I know..wishful thinking

I will assume that that was meant as help and not sarcasm Checked google and all I can find before wanting to scratch my retinas out in boredom was very poor (cant code myself so much better than I could do), tiny keyed ones or scientific, engineering.......etc.

Cheers for that suggestion Matt, have tried that one before I think. Just downloaded it again as I now have unlocked my HD, but it still wont work. Installs fine, but cant find an icon, cant even find where it installs and the standard calc still opens unskinned.
On a positive note thats just what Im after.
look with explorer or similarly in windowspath after "calculator.exe"
make ur own shortcut - hit him and have fun

I know it's something simple, but I have wizard for 4 days now and I really don't know what's going on (and i didn't find it here or in google, 4h of searching is enough)
so:
Images & Videos icon in Programs menu doesn't work. It just refreshes the screen nothing else.
What's more - in contact menu (contact -> menu -> edit) there is "choose image" and when i click it, it doesn't work as well.
Explorer opens my images with s2v.
It's Windows Mobile 5, previous owner changed its language and maybe did something wrong, i think i must install something or change smtg in registry ?
give me hints, i must have contacts' pictures
52 viewers and no reply to you either. Funny eh? I have not received my Wizard yet, so I don't have the ability to replicate or diagnose your problem. However, I do know that reflashing my device always seemed to help when I had a problem such as this.
Search for your original ROM and reflash it. That might take care of te problem. Maybe after, if that works, upgrade to 6.0 or beyond.
According to UPS Tracking, I should receive my device tommorrow and will be able to help better. It has left MN, hit IN and Kentucky on it's way to SC, so apparently on time. woo hoo.

Hi, I was thinking about reflashing my phone, but I'm waiting for full Embedded Linux or other linux support (I've read that they're working on it).
But I found smtg interesting, concerning my problem:
Images & Videos still doesn't work - and nothing but reflashing will do propably (propably, probably jeez this language is odd ),

s2v has an option to assign viewed picture to contact and it works pretty well, i can see photos in contact list, WisBar Advance Desktop and when I'm calling.
so I change my question into:
What is the name of default image viewer in windows mobile 5? Isn't it Internet Explorer lol?

It's still a long ways off from being fully functional though.
all right, i've upgraded my phone to WM6, it runs and boots a lot faster and of course i've got no problems with images anymore
so it was basically something deleted or changed in my previous WM, topic can be closed now.
