Question about extended battery - Touch Pro, Fuze Accessories

I managed to run across a couple of extended batteries for the Touch Pro and I was wondering if those would be compatible with my Fuze. Also, the cover that is included with it doesn't seem like it will fit over the camera/LED correctly. Here's the link to one of the websites: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/17445.htmJust wondering if this battery will work with the Fuze. Thanks for the help.

The battery will work, it's just the cover that won't fit
(check the shape of the Touch Pro with the Fuze... )

Thanks for the help. Sorry about the question, I really just meant to ask about whether or not the cover will fit because I knew the battery would be compatible. Also, have you been able to locate a replacement back panel for the Fuze? The glossy, geometric one? I have searched but have only located the rubberized version. Any info would be great. Thanks again.

Extended Battery and back. I was thinking of getting it just for the back because it looks like it has some texture - unlike my Fuze... (sorry for the long link, I haven't figured out how to make a hyperlink...)

Hi pkirill,
I like this one. Have you already used this battery? Anyone used this battery pack??
TIA

Yea I saw that one before but the only problem is that I just got a case for the Fuze and I think that it would no longer fit with the larger back panel. I've noticed before that they have made extended batteries for other HTC devices that don't need a larger cover so I guess i'll have to hope they come out with one for the Fuze. Thanks for the help.

replacing the screen on a HTC 8125 wizard??

Ok, my LCD cracked. I have purchased another one, but I am wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of nightmare I am going to be in for in doing the replacement. (I have a lot of experience in repairing small electrical devices, music equipment, etc... so this isnt my first foray into this type of repair) but I have been looking over this phone, and it doesnt look like its going to be easy by any means, to get the the screen assembly. in fact, it almost looks like I am going to have to go at it through the Back of the phone (pain in the a$$). Any helpfull hints, or tips would be greatly appreciated. I have a couple days to wait, while I wait for my T6 torque driver to come in from order, so I am fishing for tips in the meantime. Thanks in advance!!
Somebody posted a link to a service manual pdf awhile back. I downloaded it then, and I just tried to attach it to this post, but it wouldn't let me. It said upload failed. But if you search around here and at howardforums.com, you'll probably find the original. It detailed the complete disassembly and reassembly of a wizard (actually an HTC Prodigy, but very similar to the Wizard).
You can find the manual at http://www.box.net/public/4enzlr1l8c
excellent, Thanks very much for the manual link, Thats going to come in VERY handy. Thanks again.

You can buy the LCD here:
http://www.pdasmart.com/products/XDH-WZLCDpdaphonehtcmini.htm
Or if (Like me), your touchscreen is broken you can order from Hong Kong:

Does anyone know how to replace the touchscreen once the LCD is out of the phone????

I hope this info isnt too late, but I just bought a replacement LCD with the touch screen overlay for my gen 2 cingular 8125 for $65 shipped and insured. I got it off ebay. And that was a buy it now price. Here is a link to there ebay store... http://stores.ebay.com/e2shopstore. And here is an email address I got from him... [email protected]. The replacement LCD with the touch screen overlay for a gen 1 cingular 8125 was $95 shipped and insured.
damn lcd screen.......
anyone know offhand how to tell if your 8125 is gen 1 or 2 without disassembling the damn thing first?
One thing the manual doesn't tell you...
The volume slider tab might be vulnerable to less-than-careful extrication of the board. It's a pretty flimsy piece of plastic when you put pressure on it in a way it wasn't intended....
The other thing I found out is that a wedge shaped plastic tool for the case is a must. I bought one, and I am so, so glad I did. Otherwise you may break the tabs that hold your face plates on, or at least scratch 'em up pretty badly. A cuticle tool (for fingernails) might work pretty well if you don't want to spring (more), as long as the plastic isn't harder than the plastic of the face plates.
Volume slider broken
Blast! Some small metal thing pinged out when I was putting my Wizard back together again, and now my volume slider is flapping about loosely.
The manual has absolutely no detail about how this tiny piece of metal fits back in. Looks like there is a tiny switch with a miniscule vertical slot inside the wizard around that area.
I swear I posted this last night but is not appearing so here goes again:
Has anyone replaced the touchscreen only? Is it hard to separate from the LCD? My MDA had a dead center and I'd like to fix it while spending as little as possible, but if its going to be a problem I'll get the full LCD.
Ok does this version of english bother anyone else?
OEM Cingular 8125 PDA Touch Screen, it does not includes the main LCD. Please according the parts which showing in the item pictures.About my this item,it is just a touch screen, not the full LCD. It is glassy cover on the color LCD. It's for the one whose Dopod 818 i-Mate Jam touch screen was broken, or out of order, we can provide this replacement...So the buyer need not buy a full expensive replacement LCD,just for the touch screen problem...
Last time I bought something on ebay from a guy that talked like this I got a fake h700 that hat the bluetooth range of 2 ft, couldn't even wear my phone on my belt
anyone have the service manual for the cingular 8125? that htc wizard looks different than mine, mine is round? thanks

Towards the beginning of this thread, there is a post with the link to a PDF. I checked it out, and it's for the prodigy but it looks almost exactly like my 8125 wizard.
almost... should taking it apart be the same? I don't want to ruin something, I would prefer to have the manual for my phone exactly.. thanks
Prodigy not exactly same as 8125
Took a good look at the pdf manual for the Prodigy...it's not close enough to the 8125 for me to feel comfortable disassembling the 8125.
I need to replace the clear screen only...got the tools (incl. plastic wedge), but will have to find an 8125 manual first.
The manual is pretty much right on except in one area. For the Wiza200 (t-mobile MDA), the backing is taken off from the back/side areas. For the Wiza100 (Cingular 8125), you need to take it off near the border of the keyboard. I posted some pictures a few months back in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=266382
I'm not sure how difficult it is to seperate the LCD and digitizer as I replaced the whole thing. And, as stated before, the volume slider is pretty fragile. It can break if its not seated in the actual button.
have you seen any exact manual, instruction, guide how to do that or just pics?
Thanks,
Tom
My lcd cracked a couple days ago...for no reason...i don't remember dropping it or anything....just have a long crack across the screen.
Now, the left half is black while the right half is barely visible. Paperweight....
Anyone in the NYC can fix this ?
I'll be working on my next week so i'll let you know.
Peace,
Tom

Any tips for stylus retention?

Both mine and the wife's Exec's now have loose styluses, is there any way to fix this?

My Wizard's always done this. I've had it apart and couldn't fix it, so have settled for using a couple of turns of sellotape around the tip end of the stylus. Do it neatly and you can't see it, and it works nicely.
Ric
i put two small pieces of insulating tape in the hole where the stylus goes... it seems to hold well. i have attached a image. good luck

Hi,
It looks the same size - does it really stay in place more than the original, if so I'll get one!!
Thanks Matt
Tape: £1.39
Time out from work to craft the end of the tape to suit the exec: £4.50
The look on my other half's face when I prove the stylus will stay put: Priceless.
For most things you can use your Mastercard, for everything else, there's insulating tape.
P.S. I used black so it doesn't look so conspicious... is it vain or just the geek in me?
Best wishes,
i just wrapped a little tape around the stylus, just where the plastic meets the metal, works great, had it in situ around 4/5 months now

Not dropped out of my Exec yet. Funny thing is, I didn't think it would last long so I also bought a pack of 3 stock Stylus. Never used them. Hope I never will.
The new one has been in since Dec 06, used daily, and still going strong.
Regards
Mav
my stylus wud come out as if cheese but then i lifted the black part little up and now it stays in it place
Best thing is to actually get one of those 3-in one styli. They are actually a little thicker, which means they stay in a lot better. Mobile Fun sell them. Just google them and fine oneone.

well im looking for a template so that i can trace and cut for a screen protector.. i know you can purchase screen protectors that fit the hero but i have yet to find one that fits the entire screen ( to the very top of it ) most only cover to the logo at the top fo the screen.
and my wife wants a mirror one. so she bought one ( without my knowlage ) but it needs to be cut to fit ...
Oh ok. Once I get home from work I'll see if I can dig something up (if some hasn't beat me to it).
I can just whip up a black square that's 320x480 for ya... stay tuned.
Here you go. Just print this out and it'll be 320x480 pixels (size of every droid phone from g1 to hero, excluding the newer ones)
I would believe that he's looking for a template covering all the glass...not just the section that is over the screen.

Good work but he is looking for something to cover every inch of the glass. More precisely, there is a little curve at the top that I am pretty sure he wants to cut out exactly so that you can't tell there is a screen protector on.
Not sure if you ever found what you were looking for or if you even still have a hero but i am about to make one. I have a new phone coming moday so i am going to apply tape to old one and cut it out and draw it up in autocad. stay tuned
Edit: Ok here it is. i have also created a new thread to hopefullly have stickied. please search Screen Protector Template (PDF) and vote the thread, thanks.

Battery Cover Not Fitting (Quick "Fix")

I've had issues with the battery cover not being flush and having lips on both sides. Now you may think I'm crazy for posting this, but hell...I didn't think the solution I found would actually work.
Basically, I just took a post-it and folded it twice (maybe three, I forget) and placed it under the cover...perfectly flush now!
I figured it would just push the cover and create more lip, but instead I tried it and it make it fit perfect! All seriousness, I was considering using rubber cement to hold it...I'm glad I didn't.
Strange
Worked for me too! Who would have thought... Thanks for the advice.
Where did you place the post it? Dead center?

Dead center over the battery.
I also cut it in half, it was pushing the cover a bit too far out near the camera.
wow! i didn't even realize this bothered me until you pointed it out. super simple fix. you sir, are a genius. well done!
woah cool
10char
This bothered the hell out of me as well... for some reason it's only the right side (when the phone is facing down) that doesn't sit flush on the edges. The left side is perfectly fine.
Unfortunately your fix doesn't do much to help my situation but I'll play around with it a little more. Great idea though
I noticed this also but when I put the ext battery that i bought for the Hero in it went away.. You can always put a Innocase II on it and that takes care of the problem too

sorry i should be more clear..its just a 2000 ext hero battery that is the same size as original..its was $10 on ebay so i went ahead and just got it for kicks.
oh ok... yea those batterys are the same thing as the 1500....
Mine is also lipped on the right side if the phone is facing down. I'm trying all kinds of things right now to fix this.

Dude you are a genious! Such a simple solution LOL Works great my cover is perfectly flush now. Will have to find something of similiar thickness to permanently stick to the backside of the battery cover.
Thanks
Works for me, greatly appreciated! Seriously bugged the hell out of me. It's not perfect but it's so much better
The post-it mod rocks! That did kind of annoy me before.
Works almost perfectly for me, what pisses me off about it is that my cover was flush until I removed it to change out my sd card.
wtf made you think of this?
fixed one little annoyance i had with the phone. thanks!
Just be careful that you don't add too much insulation and keep the heat from escaping the battery...
I had to do this with both of my EVOs. Pretty terrible that HTC can't even make a battery cover fit properly on a 'flagship' phone.

HTC Desire HD Screen Issue

This is my mates HTC Desire HD, he keeps it in an Official HTC case which covers the full screen and is very careful with it.
A mark has appeared on the middle of the screen which as you can see in the video is really annoying. He has not dropped it, nor hit it with anything.
Anyone got any ideas, or have had the same problem??
Here is a very small video which demonstrates the issue that I placed on YouTube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTtFHV2IdNA
Looks like he has either sat on it or had soemthing heavy pressing on the center of the screen. Either way it looks as if the LCD layer is sitting too close to the digitiser and even the slightest pressure on the screen causes that distortion.
I'm not aware of a fix other than a new digitiser maybe.
Contact the dealer. Maybe you're friend can get an replacement (Y)
Update... turns out over the weekend my mate took out the extended battery (he had to use tweezers to get it out!).
He had purchased from an Ebay seller from a UK seller (not an official HTC battery though). It was a 1600mah battery.
The issue went instantly.
Looking at the 1600mah battery, its curved!
So beware everyone, get an official battery! Or risk screwing up your touchscreen!
Thats interesting . First time I have heard a battery casuing screen problems.

TS said that the battery was curved so it was prolly pushing against the inside of the phone onto the panel
Hi just joined as its my phone in question
The battery has bulged very slightly in the middle so that if you placed it on a flat surface either way up you can rock it in any direction. I reckon its approx 2mm thicker on either side in the middle than at the edge
Signs were there over the past few weeks as it wasn't lasting as long on each charge and no-where near as long as the original HTC HD battery which is now back in the phone.
As to the High capacity one its a generic battery i.e. no mfr markings on the black and white label
Details say
"Replacement for HTC Desire HD" on two lines in top left corner
"Li-on 3.7V" in top right
"3.7VDC 1600mAh" below that and CE logo next to that
You will find the battery sold at lots of places online (both UK and international) as the picture from the UK seller I bought it from was by no means unique.
You better buy a second original battery from HTC.
5 mins ago i read about buying a nonHTC battery with higher capacity and I nearly ordered it. Good thind I found this thread.
Thank you
