Unbranding T-Mobile MDA Compact IV - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Would like to get rid of the pink T-Mobile branded TouchFLO interface. What's the easiest way? I'd avoid flashing a cooked ROM, if at all possible.
Thanks in advance.

Check out that thread. Has a cab with the black manilla theme. Or you could choose one of the many .cab based themes that are around!

i really do recommend you just flash a new ROM instead of installing a new manilla. the T-Mobile ROM is so horribly slow you'll be amazed how much faster the 1.93 roms are!

I have to say that he´s 1000% right. I have also Vario IV and thought that no need to flash, only changed the Theme. After 2 Weeks me was boring and I tried the Romeos 1.4.1 Rom .... Fantastik how much ist the difference ....

All you have to do if you want to get rid of the touchFlo interface and not install a new rom is to get TF3D Config and download some themes for it and you will have a new interface look and no flashing of your rom.
TF3D Config v0.6.7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749
Themes: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409901
I have a T-Mobile MDA Compact IV as well and now am using the original black Touch Diamond Theme interface.
If in the future, you decide to go back to the original T-Moble interface, you can do so using TF3D Config.
Hope this helps.
p.s. If you need any help just pm me.

how to remove the ugly pink and white T-mobile stuff
Hello people,
I just bought a T-Mobile MDA Vario IV (Netherlands), and the pink and white T-Mobile interface is horrible. All I want is the all-black HTC touch pro interface. I know that this question has been asked repeatedly, but I didn't understand the replies since this is my first smartphone, so actually i am a novice. Could someone please explain step-by-step how I can get rid of the T-Mobile interface and put the all black HTC interface on my smartphone?
Thanks a million in advance guys

Looking for t-mobile today theme

Hi, I'm looking for some help. My UK t-mobile Vario II phoned was killed in a car door, needless to say my insurance paid up for a replacement but they replaced it with a HTC Tytn which doesn't have some of the accessories that came with the T-Mobile Vario II I had.
I'm looking for the t-mobile today theme which gives a series of shortcut icons to various phone features, namely
Web and Walk, Contacts, Phone, Messages, Organiser
I downloaded the extended rom for the Vario II from this web site, which contains the settings, configuration and accessories applied to the Vario II by t-mobile.
Does anyone know which CAB file in the extended rom has this accessory/theme or does anyone know where I can download it directly or what it is called or recommend a good replacement?
Would really appreciate the help
Thanks in advance
Ersen
I am also looking for the T-Mobile Today theme. Anybody?
What you're probably going to have to do is flash the ROM to one of the T-Mobile ROMs. You'll find a listing of the ROMs that are available in the Wiki along with the instructions as to how to do it.

Theme installation question

Had my 'old' Compact IV ROM updated by T_Mobile service and runs bit quickly than originally! However I wonder if I try any new themes (such as ones from here like HTC Black)
they run pretty slowly... sometimes with several sec delays. Is there some way around this?
Im using the TF3D tool everyone seems to use to install them...
Appreciate help, thanks!
(Bored with the t-mobile theme - but it runs quick now!)
J
need help, pls
anyone? is there a way to make the new themes run quicker? my t-mobile standard one is pretty quick, but want same from any new ones i install from here... thanks
Just flash a new ROM, branded roms usually suck. When I used vodaphone branded rom it was slow as well, but when I flashed a new one, everything worked much better
again...
The prob is not the ROM. As I said the ROM i have now is good. Its not slow. The questions is about installing new themes - they run slowly for some reason.
Is there Anyone p l e a s e, who could help??!
ANyone?
I tried couple new themes from here.. but they all run slowly n my Compact IV. The t-mobile original I have runs pretty quckly. Please someone explain why? Any way to improve the speed of themes Im installing?
i found that installing full tf3d themes using the program you are on about takes up massive amounts of memory therefore making the device run slower. try manilla customizer and download the bits you like, takes up less memory that way

Installing New Themes

Hello everyone,
I really love all the work that people have put on here it really exceeds some of the stock themes you get originally on the Diamonds and I would really love the ability to install some of these wonderful themes.
I have recently acquired an O2 XDA Ignito for those of you who don't know it is the HTC Touch Diamond from O2. I have tried installing themes on there, but it appears it is not fully customizing the look as it appears in the screenshots.
I was wandering if this is because that it is a branded device and rom so there maybe some limitation in that respect.
Can anyone be kind enough to verify this and possibly if there is any solution..
Thank you very much in advance.
thanks for everyones help hmmm.
thanks for everyones help hmmm. i was being sarcastic if u didnt realise. for those looking for answers i did some digging around and found this youtube video illustrating how to use the tf3d config tool to install themes.

This is the crucial bit, and still seems to be working
http://www.planete-htc.com/index.php?mod=forum&ac=voir&id=20612&debut=20&cat=237
It is in French but the gist of it is, when installing DO NOT let your screen turn off!!! and it takes AGES to install, about 20-30 minutes.
Once it is installed, reboot and you have the default HTC black theme, with white fonts. You can then install any theme you want without CFC compression

Scuba, I have had it on my Voda branded phone for 3 weeks or so and it is superb, you cannot tell it apart from a stock phone pal (you still get the red voda startup screen thats all).

Thanks for that new to the HTC phones have been a nokia man, glad i chnaged and seen the light
Have put the touch of blue theme on and its just what i wanted.
Might get into the whole theme building when i understand the phone more
Mick
I've tried this and it works great. The only thing you loose is the TF3D 2.1 Facebook integration that was on the Vodafone UK version.
I've installed the black cab and the touch of blue theme, along with the manilla today page, so pretty happy.
Is there a way to bring back the facebook intergration with the contacts on the vodafone TP2, as I quite enjoyed the updates to my contacts pictures.
Over on the topaz section there's a facebook intergration thread with fixes, could this work on ours, I might give it a try and see
This worked for me

Thanks

Help Needed Please

Hi All, What a great forum! I hope being a noob i am posting in the right area. Anyway here goes.
I recently purchased an ex-contract diamond which is locked to Vodafone, this is fine because I am on vodafone however, the hideous red and white theme why ? Using tf3d I can change themes although the phone seems a little sluggish afterwards using touch-flo. Does tf3d replace the theme or just skin the phone ? I tried to flash the rom using the latest from HTC but as soon as I put my serial number in it disowns me and states I will have to get onto vodafone. Full circle back to red and white theme lol. If tf3d truly re-writes the theme without affecting performance, please can somebody point me to the default stock HTC theme the one on this site is down. my rom version is 1.97.161.4 WWE 26-10-08 radio 1.05.25.08. I prefer this rom version as a lot of niggles seem to have been ironed out. I just want the default HTC theme without losing performance. Any help would be appreciated.
