[size=+0][18/11/2008] SSMaPa2D (Alpha) 0.2.2.1 (18/11/2008)[/size]
Hi guys,
simple Manila2D patcher -> SSMaPa2D version 0.2.2.1
this version is only for Manila2D devices! For Manila3D use this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2400995
please test it and let me know if there are bugs…
Patch options:
.) Replace Calender
.) Replace Mail
.) Replace Opera
.) Replace Camera
.) Time Click Man2d
.) Bluetooth Settings
Note: extended Init not possible at the moment. If someone facing UnauthorizedAccessException tell here.
How does it work ?
1.) Copy SSMaPa2D.exe to pda and start it.
2.) Press "Init"
3.) Under settings – click on description line what you want to change
4.) Then change the program what you want in fields below + click on "patch" + "save"
5.) Under deploy – click "Deploy".
After that you can exit the program.
If your files are signed, you're asked if you want to unsign them.
Please note, I didn't find a way to remove the signatures in a 'correct' way. I do an exe-based-deactivating. This is ok, as long as you don't want to resign them. If you want to resign them with your own certificate chose no and do it by hand.
Also I didn't have a manila2d testdevice... So it was a little bit difficult to test the application, but I had a motivator and beta tester
Thank you camel (camro)!
Please donate for me! I'm a apprentice and use a lot of my free time for working on the computer, to be able to create such tools.
[size=+2]Thank you [/size]

strange.
if others have same problem, post here and mail me your manila2d.exe...
thank you

I like the idea of this, but I am having a problem. When I select a description to edit and then select the ..., although all folders is selected, not all of them are showing up. I am missing Program Files, Windows, etc. Looking forward to a fix for this.

this is a "file explorer" related problem.
ex:
1.) please check the link file of creating of a "new appointment" on thumbal folder in start menu with a file browser (ex: total commander resco explorer)
2.) copy the string from there then to m2d patcher . the same on paramter - i (have tested it) and it works
@sven - maybe you can post a screen shot of the gui on first posting.

I realize I can create the path manually or copying it from a link, but I would much rather be able to browse to the file I want and have the app create the path . I use Resco File Explorer, so getting the full path is no issue. Thanks.

It seems I can only assign the software in the storage card. Is there any way for me to assign the software in the main memory ?

you can copy the software the every location and you can start the software from every location.
if you need this very often - create a link to the exe and move it to your start menu folder - thats it

enter only the exepath, then do the arguments in argument box.

Ok, I guess I can make you easier here. Download the attachment and unzip and copy inside 2 files (you should choose "show all files" option when using the file explorer) into \windows.
After that, go to Settings/System tab, then you should see "File dailog Changer". Enter the software, and choose the "Exchange Standard File Dialog, click "add". Now it should trigger the shield feature of file browser for SSMAPA2D now.
Now you can assign the software as you want by using SSMAPA2D.

[new release] VJBrisk - very specific file launcher

Guys, don't get excited, this is just a teeny tiny app for a special request:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=50460&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
I'm basically not releasing anything for a while whilst I work on my new website, which is taking ages
However, this app is just used to launch an app in the same folder, with the filename
VJTarget.exe
or a shortcut called VJTarget.lnk.
This is very specific in use. You don't need it, I'm sure.
But if you have an app that can launch an .exe, but won't launch a shortcut with a command line, then this might be for you (I know some button redefiners and Today launchers might get use out of this)
So, basically, if you want to run VJDialer with a command line in TomTom:
1. Create a shortcut to VJDialer and set it up as you normally would.
2. Check the shortcut to ensure it works.
3. Copy it to your target folder.
4. Copy VJBrisk.exe to the same target folder.
5. Rename the shortcut you made in Step 1 to VJTarget.lnk.
6. Running VJBrisk will now launch VJTarget with its command line etc.
So, setup TomTom to run VJBrisk, and VJBrisk will then launch a file called VJTarget.exe or VJTarget.lnk in the same folder.
Like I said, very specific, but a good experiment for me with some nice string classes
On my (old) website.
V
Thanx!
I will rewrite my question here, because it's + appropriated:
i will try NOW your app.... only a question:
VJbrisk.exe launch only one vjtarget.lnk or just rename it (exe) with the same name of the link to have more than 1 phone link?
(es Vjbrisk1.exe call Vjbrisk1.lnk, Vjbrisk2.exe call VJbrisk2.lnk etc ?
sorry 4 my english
:::EDIT:::::
i HAVE AN IDEA!
If a Vjbrisk.exe read from a text file vjtarget.txt :
links = 2
link1: vjdial.exe 123456789;
link2: vjdial.exe 987654321;
then by renaming as Vjbrisk1.exe or vjbrisk2.exe the program execute the link into the txt?
the counter is for vjbrisc[X].exe, from x=1 to x=[links].....
or the exe filename can be compared with a string written into the txt:
"VBrisk1.exe" = vjdial.exe 123456789
"VBrisk2.exe" = vjdial.exe 123456789
I don't know is it's possible.... however good work for all others apps that you've made !
VJBrisk will launch VJTarget.exe or VJTarget.lnk.
I could make it so that renaming VJBrisk Eg VJBrisk2.exe will launch VJTarget2.exe.
But for your TomTom setup, I suggest you just use a different folder and a different copy of VJBrisk for each app you need to run.
The text file option is possible, but may be more complicated then just renaming the .exe as I describe above.
V
ok thnx 1000
accidental presses solved
thanks again to kokotas and vijay555.
kokotas for his ROM that allows me to replace \windows\biotouch.exe without difficulty
vijay555 for his VJBrisk that allows a "new biotouch.exe" to launch a shortcut to s2u2.exe
this means slide2unlock2 will remain locked, even if there are accidental presses/brushes(due to hardware design) while my elf is in my pocket.
Hi, Vijay.
Is there any chance that you could modify this app so that it would pass the command-line parameter it was launched with on to the shortcut?
Here's what i'm trying to acchieve:
I'm using a QR Code reader called quickmark that can read a URL from the barcode, and open it in a web browser. It can ce switched to use Opera instead of IE, but it attempts to launch the executable called OperaLaunch.exe from /Windows, while my Opera9 beta exec is on the storage card, and it's called Opera9.exe
I tried to create a shortcut to it, rename it to VJTarget.lnk, and place it in /Windows along with VJBrisk renamed to "OperaLaunch.exe". When i tried to access a web page from quickmark, opera was launched, but it opened its home page, as if it didn't receive the command line parameter. Manualy running the link with URL as command line parameter worked fine, so it seems that VJBrisk doesn't pass the parameter...
[new version!] Command line support
mr_deimos - that's a really good idea. I don't know why I had never supported it before.
Can you please try this new version.
It's been years since I've made a cab, so for now, just a new .exe.
Let me know if it works ok for you.
VJBrisk 0.2 with command line support
V
Whoa, i didn't notice this version before. Thanks for making the update and sorry for the late reply.
However unfortunately it still doesn't seem to pass the command line parameters. Right now i don't have the opera9 anymore, but i tested it with netfront:
I have the vjbrisk.exe renamed to OperaLaunch.exe and vjtarget.lnk (pointing to my NetFront executable on storage card) in my /windows dir.
If i run:
Code:
\windows\vjtarget.lnk http://www.xda-developers.com
Netfront opens up, and loads the xda-dev website.
But ruunning:
Code:
\windows\operalaunch.lnk http://www.xda-developers.com
NetFronf fires up, but loads its homepage instead of this website Of course the same happens with QuickMark - it just launches NF, without loading the proper page.

it works fine, but can you make an option so that it is possible to use it multiple times in one directory =?
ex:
manila2d use on homescreen hardcoded:
-> clock.exe for timer+
-> calendar.exe for outlook calendar.
# # # #
now i want to use:
-> clock.exe for spb time
-> calendar.exe for thumbcal
so i overwrite calendar.exe + clock.exe with your tool(copy vjbrick.exe to calendar.exe + clock.exe) + make the link to vjtarget....
so how can handle your tool this for different targets ?
my idea would be that there is
1.) vjbrick.exe looks to its own exe-name and searching for a file with extension: ".vjb" . there the call is inside to the correct exefile + paramter
so for example:
1.) copy vjbrick.exe to calendar.exe + copy to windows(overwrite the orig file)
2.) generate a file calendar.vjb + inside there is: "programm files\thumbcal\thumbal.exe -day" + copy the file to \windows
manila2d->
THEREFORE: a lot of guys which are searching therefore a solution !!!!!!!!!!!

Ive got a question about using ResHacker...what file format do the icons have to be in? Ive got them in .ico also I am trying to put a icon to an application that doesnt currently have one do you know how I can do this in Res Hacker
In SKtools: I'm having problems with the icon format as well...any idea what format its looking for?
I guess I spoke to soon about them running perfect
How to
In ResHacker open file u want to change the icon of, then hit the action button, and then replace icon. However, with some .exe or .dll files u cannot change there icons.
any help on this one. I have shortcut creator and for some reason when i point it to the Lnk file then to the ico file it just makes a duplicate and renames the old .bak. the icons don't change?
I tried the sk iconmaker and it won't show any of my ico files in the folder.
how can you change icons?
Well, You could do it manually. To change the icon of all shortcuts download a registry editor (PHM RegEdit is free and great), Then goto HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\inkfile\defaulticon.Edit the string value "default" to the path to the icon you whant all shortcuts to have. The path must lead to a exe, dll or ico file.

cheers mate but vust links to the 'my device' page on file explorer no matter what i do.
have looked into and edited folderview.exe so it should route to an alternative folder but the signature is not taking via msigner.
was thinking that this might be the 'simple' way but must be doing something wrong, was thinking set the shortcut to a generic option (ie Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Test) would give some flexibility (we could just add/rename folders in the program list
any idea what i am doing wrong on the resign?

Make themes

Hello everyone...
I just looked for hours...
But can't find a program to make my own theme's for diamond.
I've tried using google, youtube and this forum... iam sure iam missing something,,,,
I understand i shall use Manila editor??? or???
But when iam opening it ... I can't se any pic's i can change...
I really hope someone can help me.. maybe its just in front off my eyes... But then iam totaly Blind.....
-Best regards Dennis
The easiest way is this, and do note themes do not work on any theme with a disattached Manila (for example, TLR ROMs seem to have problems with theming):
Preparations:
- Make a folder on your computers desktop called "Theme", and in it a folder called "My Theme" or the name of your personal theme.
- Connect your Diamond to your computer and copy ALL manila files (files ending in _manila) in the Windows subdirectory of your Diamond to the "Theme" folder on your desktop.
- Download Manila Editor and extract the files to a place where you can easily find it.
- In Manila Editor, press "Select Path" and select the "Theme" directory on your desktop. The program will "parse" the files and you'll see a loading bar in the bottom left.
Modifying:
- The files are now loaded. Browse through the files, and notice they're ordered by category. Also note the "Friendly name" is somewhat of a description as to what each image is. Finally, do note some files do NOT have a description and can be found in the "Unknown" category.
- Select the files you want to modify, and use Export -> Selected -> BMP/JPG/PNG (whichever you prefer). Choose a location to extract the files to.
- Use The Gimp, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or your image editing program of choice to edit the files as desired. Use the old file as indicator for placement and size. Save the files under the same name for practicality, or give them a name that lets you easily figure out what each image is.
- When done, go back to Manila Editor and select the items you modified one by one. Each time, click the item, then click "Replace". Select your new image, and click OK. Repeat this as many times as necessary.
- If all files are correctly changed, click Zip -> Zip All. I've found that Zip All gives the least problems on most ROMs. This will create a .zip file, which you can name and save anywhere you wish.
Installing: (Sushilange has confirmed that later versions of Manila Editor will have a "Create Theme" function).
- Rename the .zip file to .theme and copy it to a subdirectory on your Diamond.
- Download, Install and Run Diamond TF3D Config 0.6.7 or higher. Go to the appearance tab and select the "Path..." button. Select the DIRECTORY in which your .theme file is and click OK. Then, from the dropdown list, select the name of your theme (the name of the zip-file).
- Select "Apply'. Take into account you need AT LEAST 20MB of free space on your device, as indicated by the program.
- Select start, wait until it finishes (don't worry if it says something about deleting files), click Finish and let the program restart your Diamond.
Thank you very much...
Perfect explination...'
Thank you . Glad it helps.
Instead of renaming the exported manila files from .zip to .theme, you can also use QuickCab to make a cab file of the exported manila files. Then you don't have to use the Diamond TF3D Config 0.6.7 program.
Advantage is that you can run the cab file and you can easily uninstall your theme. Uninstalling your own theme means that the original manila files wil be restored again. Furthermore it's much more easier and faster to install a theme.

Wouldn't uninstalling the theme through Diamond TF3D Config also restore the original theme? That's what happens here, in any case.

- If all files are correctly changed, click Export -> Export All. I've found that Export All gives the least problems on most ROMs. This will create a .zip file, which you can name and save anywhere you wish.
- Rename the .zip file to .theme and copy it to a subdirectory on your Diamond.

You meant "Zip" not "Export"... Export is only the converting-function qtc->png

No, no! Don't do this! Wait until I added a "Create Theme"-function in Manila Editor. A *.theme-File is not just a Zip-File. You can't use a custom zip as a theme-file.

I'm just telling what works, but I can't wait until you get that functionality in - sounds good.
And yup, I meant Zip All, will edit now.

I know that it is possible, that it works But the problem is, if it is not working in some reasons, the noobs are crying and i can't give support ;-)
When I add the feature officially, I can give support
I'd daresay screw them. It's not supported by your application yet, so you have no obligation to make it work for them until making *.theme files is actually supported by the program.
Great program, by the way.
I don't know whether I am asking too much. I want to know if it's possible to turn the big digital clock on the 3D theme to transparent (instead of white opaque color). I wanted to change the background to a photo and the clock occupies half of the screen and always blocks the person's face in the photo.

XDA_UC_NET - Chef's requests

Hi, Chefs! =)
I'm going to add an option to run on second (or first) boot to my new program XDA_UC_NET. It's almost like original XDA_UC, but C# based, gives feedback to user and saves installation log, so you can see if any errors happened, it supports environment variables for different folders and some other enhancements.
Now it's almost portable - you can run it any time you want from Start menu, select any folder and install files from this folder.
But chefs ask me to add autorun mode - just as original XDA_UC.
I want to implement it this way
Chef adds to registry path to folder that must be processed by XDA_UC_NET.
Chef adds to registry parameter to tell program if it should run on 1st or 2nd boot.
Chef adds to registry parameter to tell program if it should wait for some time before popup.
XDA_UC_NET starts, read these parameters, display your message (if any, in any language) from given folder. If folder is not found - tell user that it's time to copy this folder to device. At the end XDA_UC_NET installs stuff from this folder like original XDA_UC.
What do you think? Are there any other suggestions how to implement autorun feature?
Will be great to not have that config.txt and of course to have it full potencial like:
1.- search for cabs into #Storage card# (any lang of course)
2.- Maybe a nice image here installing in a animation bar
3.- install this... then this... and at this point hide the UC screen to click some prompt messages from instalation action in many cabs
3.- run this file (lnk, exe)
4.- select any TSK
Finally restart device
this will allows chefs to not add cabs into ROMS to be executed at first boot.. lighter roms you know (i know i can make it posible with SDconfig.txt but not all ppl likes to edit the file every time you know)
Thats my recomendations
Oh BTW we just can make a lnk into startup folder and it will run in first run or maybe you can consider as an idea that you already have make it posible to delete that lnk at the end of the first customization.. or ask you if you want to add more second time the rom boots...

already done - it's main idea of XDA_UC, put your files in your folder and you are ready.
1.- search for cabs into #Storage card# (any lang of course)

already done - program search given folder, I think it is enough
2.- Maybe a nice image here installing in a animation bar
Click to expand...

in current version program displays every step -
"Install CABs silent"
"Install MSCRs"
and so on.
3.- run this file (lnk, exe)
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
there are two options - run and wait, or just run and go next.
I never used this feature for myself, so, please tell me what is the best?
4.- select any TSK

As far as I know almost all new themes for WM6.5 are distributed as cab files.
And there is a problem in original XDA_UC with Cook.tsk - it's old WM6 version. But I will search for options...
Finally restart device

already done
