Vibrate on Connect? - XPERIA X1 General

I have enabled the function in:
start > settings > sound and notifications > notifications > Connection Established .
I ticked Vibrate > OK > OK.
But still...it doesnt vibrate when a call connects..
anyone know why? or does anyone know how to trigger it in the registry?

I haven't used this functionality in WM before, but I believe that it is in regards to establishing a network connection (GPRS/3G/HSPA).
You can try confirming that by connecting to your carriers data service and feel for the 'vibe'

Thanks very much.
What I want is something like the HTC Diamond - you got a little vibration when the call connects, any idea how to get it on the xperia?
it appears that this has something to do with diamond's phonepad? has anyone extracted it out?

The option to disable sending and receiving notifications is not there.,
These?
Start > Settings > |Personal| > Sounds & Notifications > |Notifications|
Event: Messaging: MMS downloaded/MMS sent/New MMS

Nope, there are also alerts for downloadING and sendING.
no idea then.. tried searching for "media message" (which seems to be the string actually used); no luck spotting anything. It seems as though the notification itself is given by the ArcSoft MMS software itself, at least.

How to NOT allow calls while on EVDO?

I am wondering if there is any way to send all incoming calls to voicemail when I am using PDAnet to get online. I know there is a PDAnet setting to "allow calls when connected" but even if I uncheck this, calls still come through and discconect my internet.
The reason I'm posting this here is because if something specific to PDAnet isn't available, or possible, is there anything that I can do to the phone to not have incoming calls disconnect my internet connection? I had a Motorola Q for a little while, and there is a "bug" that actually does this automatically (sends call to voicemail while on EVDO). It was a setting in the DEBUG menu, in the field test option, called DDTM, and it was by default on (I think), and so people had to change that to off (could be switched) to allow incoming calls. It was perfect for me though. Now, I think I tried looking for a DDTM setting in the mogul and I had found it a while back, but I dont think it did anything with regard to my situation. So my questions are:
Is there anything with PDAnet that I can do besides the setting I talked about? Registry or something...?
If nothing with PDAnet, then does anyone know how to change the DDTM setting on a mogul? I got into the DEBUG menu (##33284#) and I didnt find any DDTM setting there.
Besides the DDTM setting (since it hasn't worked for me in the past) is there any other method you guys can think of that will do what I want?
Thanks!!
Try going to phone settings > services > mode of operation > change from hybrid to EVDO only.

Hmm, that does seem to work for my last option. But I cant receive any calls at all when in this mode, so I guess I would have to manually change this each time . Is there any way this entry can be automatically changed somehow with a script or a registry change?
How I dont see mode of operation under services list. This is all I have:
Location setting, Voice Privacy, Network Service, TTY Mode, and Time Sync
Found this on an old thread somewhere.
edit the registry to make that option appear in the services list. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHING\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting
Change HiddenPreferenceMode from 1 to 0
I am on WM6 and the correct registry to change to make the "Mode of Operation" selection appear is: HiddenModeOperationPage (set value to 1 to hide, and 0 to show).

How to Increase Ringing Time?

Sorry for what might be an incredibly stupid question - my Touch Dual only rings for about 20secs which is frequently not enough time for me to answer it. Anyone know how to increase this time? I've been through the manual but can't find an answer on how to do this.
cheers
squire
it's operator depends
Thanks but I don't think that's right - I had a Sony Ericsson phone before my HTC & I could change the ringtone length to whatever I wanted
You need to go Start > Settings > Phone > Network > Services > Call Forwarding
And in there you can set the timeouts before diverting to voicemail, but the length of times available to choose from are network dependant. The max I can set is 30 seconds.

Disable "Ask to Join Wireless Network" feature

okay, I didn't search for a few hours but couldn't find any answer, so don't flame me .
does anyone know a way to disable "ask to join wireless network" feature. If I turn on my wireless, I don't want to be asked if I want to join a wireless network if I am in range. This is annoying when driving through a city with your GPS running, the msg keep popping up if I want to join a wireless network. of course, i can simply just turn off my wireless, but that's not the point of this thread. I can also select "dismiss..." whenever being asked but I don't want to do that all the time.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks...
In WM6.1 Professional, go to Start > Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi...
Then tap Menu > Advanced...
There should be a checkbox there at the top to set wifi notification on or off... Uncheck to turn it off...
HTH...
