Steel Silver.. but...
Few months ago I prefered Solid Black version. But now I'm falling in love with Steel Silver!!! Every day more and more!!!
... but shops in CZ booking in advance only black version and I'm affraid there will be no silver version at the moment of Xperia launch ... but I won't wait for silver one! I must have the XPERIA ASAP!!!
PS: Is there anyone who knows something about Steel Silver? There is no Steel Silver XPERIA in tech. specs. on most SE websites...
Will definitely go for the silver. I do not really like the colour black. And I actually when and g-mask my hermes(dopod838 pro) white.
Would love it if there's a white xperia, that would be even more SEX1.

I am almost certain I am going to purchase this phone, through Sony Style USA when I visit Las Vegas on the 18th of December (through to the 22nd)...Now I know Sony Style USA only sells the Silver one now (so far) and I believe BB has the Black one or something like that, but I wanted your opinion about which one do you think is better.
IMO they both have their pros and cons, but I want to hear more opinions if you dont mind
I was all set to purchase this in black since i first saw the phone on the internet but when it finally released in the UK and I saw it in front of me the Silver one just looked so nice I just had to go for that one..

i got the black one but am regretting it.. i love the steel finishing but the back just peeled just a tiny bit.. not alot, but enough to make me peeved..
am sure with silver it wont be that obvious but both are cool!

silver for me, as i current K800i was black and now it got few scratches on the body that are visible, silver will be less visible, imho
having both black & silver metal phones in the past, i now prefer silver phones as scratches will not be as obvious.
if its made of plastic then it wouldn't matter as the underlying plastic is probably still black.
I got the silver X1. Looks more sophisticated, refined, industrial and sleek. Not so noticeable fingerprint smudges except for the polished chrome bevel, which the black shares. Most international markets will sell the black one, so I think the silver one could be more "limited".

When you see photographs of the 2 colours side by side, the black looks better. I was hoping to get a black one, but could only source a silver one which was a disappointment until I saw it in the flesh!
Now I can confirm the silver one definitely looks more expensive, professional and is more fingerprint friendly.
i really look forward to seeing a functioning X1a in the Sony Store in Las Vegas when I go in December. Although they are selling the silver one, and I prefer the black one, i think I may be pleasantly surprised
for me, when the keyboard is closed its silver, but with the keyboard open its the black one because it looks like 2 different colors instead of just silver. and in the dark the black color looks better as well and the l.e.d lights look better against the black background as well.
black, as silver with black buttons on the front is ugly imho. And silver keyboard and shining border doesn'look bad on black
well i was all set for the black one but when i saw it in the shop i thought it looked shiny and plastic-y and then when i saw the keyboard i thought it looked odd together. so ive pre-ordered a silver one although i havent seen one in person...i think its gonna be even nicer than the live photos

Is their much of a difference, I an its just the back thats white not even the whole thing. I dont get why they would do that instead of going full white, what do you guys think about it.

The white back doesn't have the grippiness that the black back has. It just feels like slick plastic. Also, it turns out that black plastic is stronger than white plastic.

I actually bought a white evo from best buy but then put a black battery cover on it because I like the grippy-ness of it. Looks nice. There's a white outline, looks kinda like a zebra. I like it.
The only thing I don't like about the white one is that freaking glossy back. It makes it feel like I am always going to drop the phone! I wish they would have stuck with the material they used on the black, rubbery I believe?
Doesn't really matter as I am using a case now lol.

Well I use the white hard shell from PawAvenue on ebay on my White Evo. It looks quite nice with white back and black front.
So I've been checking Moto X page everyday for the last week hoping the T-mobile version would be available. And today they say all models are on sale and I get to buy my new phone. Only to be taken to the next page to find "out of stock"!:crying:

I want to buy one so bad but $600 gives me pause. Will wait for a price drop.
The front of the white one has a off white look to it, it doesn't have the same white as the back battery cover. If you can deal w/ that wait for that one.
I don't see the option to buy a 32gb.

Isn't the black color back a soft matte type paint, and the white back is more of a hard plastic feel? I know the white is hard feeling, more slippery, but I haven't held a black one.however the ATT sales rep had a custom motomaker blue one and the back was rubber feeling, soft paint matte feel. I want black soft matte, no white for sure.
Hi guys, Initially i had actually opted for the z3 compact and told myself the full size z3 was just too big and although i do feel its a tad bit bigger then i would like. Iam now telling myself i would be ok with it as the screen allegedly is awesome and iam all for bigger screens ,its just a shame the whole device has to get bigger too lol
Anyways iam now contemplating on the copper or white version? Which are you guys going for? I like the copper,its different but it also looks kinda pink-ish so iam thinking maybe i should stick with the white!

Mint green looks pretty funky too but its not available yet here Iam leaning towards the white unless the copper isnt as pink as am thinking ha

The black gives you that no-nonsense look..
I do agree that if the green or copper is darker, I would have opted for those as well
green and copper are awesome colors.
I like them both and thought about choosing one of them. Still I opted for black, because the risk of getting fed up with a color after a while is non existant for black

I bought mine today :0 I went for copper, They only had copper or black and the copper looked far nicer to me! It has a sort of pinkish bronze look to my eyes which prob doesnt sound very appealing but its nice! I wouldnt say beautiful but its different . For some reason i love it on the sides but am a bit meh about it on the back! Over all iam happy with the color although would have loved to of seen it in white!
I went ahead and got mine in White, had to carry the tradition over from my previous Xperia phones. Quite an upgrade from the SP though.

Good choice Iam already finding that the screen on this LOVES finger prints although i guess ye always notice these things when ye first get a phone! The display is crisp and finger prints arent noticeable once the display is on but because the glass covers the bezels ye can see them on the bezels which is sorta annoying but i can live with it ! I would imagine with the white version they would be less visible

100% ha Slightly disappointed by the display i have to say! It looks amazing but the min ye touch it all you can see is grubbyy finger prints! Its actually bugging me more then it should ha
I could only imagine all the fingerprints and scratches on the rear of the black. If T-Mobile doesn't offer white or copper I'm not buying.
I like both Copper and Silver Green but only Copper available for Z3 Dual so I ordered this color.
You can always get a transparent case for the phone so smudges won't be so prominent at the back.. but the screen, tough.. I hope I find a good screen protector that minimises smudges.

Here's mine in white, used my old SP running on CM11 to take the pictures with flash... Sorry if it gives any of you the wrong perspective, but I think the flash helps bring the fingerprints out a little more visible:

You barely can see any fingerprints with the white variant of the device, but the screen is another story lol. Besides, we have a fully waterproof device, we can wash/clean it at anytime
I had the black one and it was great looking. Didn't hae too many problems with fingerprints....whenever I put it in my pocket and pulled it out to use again, fingerprints were pretty much gone. My wife liked it so much she stole it. Then I got the copper one. I really like the brushed copper on the sides but like someone else mentioned, the shiny copper back I could take or leave. Would've been absolutely sweet if the whole thing was a brushed copper aluminum. Either way, I think the black and copper are both equally appealing to me..
Between aluminum, graphite and frost. Which color do you like best?
It seems frost is 64gb+ only. Most look like they are going with graphite and aluminum. I think I will go with frost since it will probably be the least common.

Anyone know why the 6P frost doesn't come in 32GB like the graphite and aluminum?
Also after seeing the hands on photos and videos....the 6P colors look like a bad metallic paint job as opposed to a smooth satiny finish.....with the exception of the frost white. For that reason alone i may get the frost.....they all look better on the google store.
Idunno...maybe I have to see them in person first. If anyone get it and lives in philly....I'll take you out for drinks just to see the phone in person
Went with Aluminum because I figured I'll have a case anyways and it will hide the strip. I don't hate the strip, but I wished they colored it similar color as the body. If they did, it would look the same way it looks on Graphite.
Aluminium! Wanted some to different from my past black devices. It should stand out in a crowd....
I preordered the graphite, but after seeing the videos, I may change to the aluminum. I like the silvery shimmer. Makes it look a little more premium to me.

I'd have to agree with this.
They all look good though IMO. I just liked Graphite a tad bit more.
I still can't decide. I've got an order for the graphite and frost (incase they sold out although they're still available in the uk) but after seeing more hands on pictures I'm starting to like the aluminium.
They just all look good in their own way. Normally picking a color isn't difficult for me as there is ALWAYS a stand out color. But there isn't on the 6P, they all look awesome.
I went with aluminum although I really like graphite I am always worried about the finish on metal devices scratching off. I also feel the the aluminium really shows off the device better.

Well I broke down, and went with the Frost instead. I just like how it shows off the metal trim. At least the front is black, I'm just not of fan of the white fronts on white phones.

I went with aluminum because I had too many phones that were dark. As far as the camera strip, I'll see how it is in person.
If anything, I'll just get a dbrand and cover up the camera strip with a white skin or something of that sort.

Stick with your initial choice. I went with graphite, then frost, now back to graphite again. Hopefully my mind doesn't change tomorrow. It's hard to choose when all videos and pics show off the silver and white models, I can't get a good look at the graphite.

As long as we are all twiddling our thumbs waiting for this phone to come out or at least be reviewed, I thought I'd create a highly non-scientific poll about which of the four color options people prefer.
I'm voting for Stellar Grey with the matte back. I hate glossy backs. And don't get me started on the fugliness of white phones. (I said this was unscientific!)
I have not liked the matte finish on other phones so i doubt i would on this one. Additionally is the matte one even ceramic ? The ceramic that supposedly feels something between metal and glass is a highlight of the phone.

The matte one is ceramic. Andy Rubin talks about it in his interview witih Wall Mossberg, when he first unveiled the phone.
I just don't like shiny backs. The get all greasy and have fingerprints all over them. It's enough hassle dealing with that on the screen. I don't get why the shiny glass back is so popular now. To me it seems cheap, not fancy. Even HTC has ruined their great flagship phones with a glass back (on the U11)--which also turned the U11 into one of the most bendable and breakable phones, after the 10 being one of the toughest. I just hope the ceramic back is as tough as Essential claims. There are a lot of shattered glass backs out there. I'd had to see the ceramic back fall prey to that problem.
Anyway, it's interesting that Ocean Depths is so popular. It's different, but I don't really get why people like it so much. It's also hard to tell from the Essential website what it's really going to look like. I think it may end up being a lot more green, especially in daylight, than it appears on the website. But it could be cool, especially if it had a matte back.
I like the green of the Ocean Depths colour, and the copper ring around the fingerprint scanner is fine too. I worry that the copper-coloured sides might be too much for me, but really it's the transition from the copper sides to the black front that has the potential to look awkward to my mind.
Hence until I'd seen it from a number of angles I'd personally play safe with the Darth Vader black.

Ocean Depths definitely seems to be generating the most interest, here and elsewhere.
Even though this poll is totally unscientific, it's interesting that the two colors that get the most interest are the two colors they are not releasing to begin with. Maybe the gadget nerds and early adopters don't reflect the tastes of the more general public and black and white are just the safe mainstream bets. On the other hand, who other than the gadget nerds and early adopters are going to buy a new phone, as soon as it's released, from an untested new company?
I would have surely gone for other color besides black if there was blue and red and all that. But this green although caught my interest in first impression it faded away soon after.
I'd be all over a bleu if they had it. For now I'm going with the black.
Holding up for the gray one. If it not priced like the black and white today, I'll keep my options open to other phones.
I just wonder how long it will take to release gray and ocean after black and white?
