Q for dutch friends - Touch HD General

a question for Dutch friends, do you know this e-shop? is reliable?
http://pdas.centralpoint.nl/htc/99hhc013-00/touch-hd-wwe-eu/

CentralPoint is one of the larger and older webshops and definately reliable.
Don't forget though, CentralPoint wasn't specifically targeted at consumers, but for larger IT-Corporations and it's probably not the cheapest as well.

Well, this point certainly does not apply to the HD, as CentralPoint is one of the few so far in the NL that will sell it well below the E600,-.
The only store beating it by another significant margin is www.algebeld.nl, with a very low E556,- price tag. Don't know much about their reliability though, but in another thread someone commented that it is a good store.

Reliable yes, but with a E75,- difference between it and the cheapest, also reliable shop, it's kind of overpriced. Not many stores charge as much as that in the NL.

Bestelmaar.nl is also pretty cheap and reliable...at least, when I was checking out my options for 'verlenging'.
Posting from my brandspanking new HD, btw Great onscreen keyboard...better than the iphone at picking out the letters ypu are aimimg at

Bestelmaar and gsm.nl aren't that reliable...check google and you will find that they have much unsatisfied costumers. I believe those are one and the same...

Well, you really need to put tweakers.net in your favorites. It will save you money
There are 14 shops in the netherlands with a price below 600. Centralpoint comes in at place 11. Not the cheapest at all. Cheapest one is this one:

hou het thuiswinkel waarborg in de gaten, en ze hebben ook het mcafee logo, klik je op het thuiswinkelwaarborg en word doorverwezen naar het thuiswinkelwaarborg site, en er staat informatie van het huidige bedrijf, is het goed, en kun je zien waar je recht op hebt bij dat bedrijf.

Bought mine at 2call.nl (WWE) version 5 weeks ago for EUR 542,-.
It was delivered within 3 days. 8GB card was included.

Bought mine from www.algebeld.nl for E556.

I'm the lucky 1st HD customer in France (!)

FYI, just got my new HD, French version today !! Had pre-odered it 10 days ago, was calling regularly; 24 devices were shipped from the Distributor today to Surcouf...so there's 23 left for now, minus two or three that went for demo or employee acquisitions, that makes it some 20 left, should all go by Saturday mid-day.
I've just unpacked the device, and am still playing with initial settings and configuration.
First 10 minutes is very exciting, as the screen really holds so much more info: example: weather shows the 4 following days just below.
Size is real cool.
Speed of browsing through settings tabs is real fast.
I'll report back tomorrow, after having installed my usual apps (I'm a heavy user, with a LOT of applications, ranging from MSVC to Tom TOM, using Blue-tooth via Parrot CK3100 in the car, etc.
My best to the next ones. Hope to exchange on user experience soon.
BTW: I was using (still have with me) the HTC Diamond, running the latest cooked ROM's from Panosha (2.4) and Dutty (2.9).
Hmm tiny question,
how much at Surcouf ?
with or without a contract
i have my french one since yesterday and i can tell you that all is good! i don't want to use anymore my iphone!
I'm the second one !
Thank you geek78 for your post: I saw it this night at 1:14AM and was buying the Touch HD at 10:00AM
I've switched up from my TyTN II in 10 minutes !

I find the price in ebay ridiculously high, isn't it?
Is that price reasonable?
I think The Desire is less apealing than Nexus One.
So, I gonna aim for Nexus One then

Demand and availability pricing I suppose. The prices are higher but unless you know somebody who can ship you one what are your options? I paid US$50 more for mine and think that was okay.
Order it from Google through Borderlinx UK.
There are numerous threads on importing to Germany on android-hilfe.de and pocketpc.ch.

If there is no other way, why not?
Still, ebay price of 700 euro is ridiculous.

??? Everything I read about the processor on reputable sites says 1.2GHz as well.
But that is a sweet deal for you guys!
Edit: And yeah, it's cheaper for Germans even with the 25€ shipping (cheapest I've seen the SGSII go for here is 530€). But for me it's not worth the hassle with support, warranty etc. Much rather pay the 30€ more, get it from amazon.de and don't have to worry about anything else. I'm lazy like that ^^.
They shipped it today, I will have it delivered in 2-3 days according to their email. Exciting Might be one of the first in holland to have this phone!

Thanks!
I see alot of people ordering online but what about the warranty? dont you be afraid that the phone might arrive and have technical problem? as i know phones dont have international warranty so all who are ordering online are taking there chances? and if the phone arrived with technical problem you take it to the local samsung dealer or take it back to the website you ordered from?

What do you mean? If you buy the phone through a webshop, the shop should provide the service of giving you a warranty. Most of the time it's just a regular manufacturer's warranty.
If you buy it from abroad and you need to get it repaired/replaced, you should ship it back to them.
Ok now i get it. Thanks
No problem. Obviously the latter is much more of a hassle since you need to ship it all the way back, though some manufacturers might accept replacements/repairs on products which are bought abroad. Usually small stuff. Dunno if this is also the case with cellphones, so better be safe than sorry.

First, it's is more or less 50€ only on the top of what I should have paid in France (except that it is not available yet), and I am getting it one month in advance...
You know what ? I don't think anything will ruin my smile, and certainly not paying ONLY 50€ on the top of normal pricing to get the chance to be the first kid on the block to get it and show it off
j'suis bien trop content !!!
What time did you get it? I got mine at 8h53
Oula ca pue la cuisse de grenouille par ici lol 'lut turtounet ^^
I'll get mine tommorow "theorically" as it was shipped today
And +1 how can you ruin the smile of someone that just got his hands on this beast ? 50€ ? uh when you spend 550€ on a phone you don't mine the extra 50€ to get it literaly 1 MONTH earlier
@OP, can you make a small vid showing it off ?
Where do you live in France, guys? My phone was shipped yesterday but I haven't got it yet, and the tracking number doesn't work
lol got it monday.. for 487. shipped from Holland though.. Am in Paris right now, includes all normal accesoires and free 8 gb sd card. Also 2 years warranty, so if you paid 599 plus a few euro for shipping you def, paid more then 50 euro to much.
Anyway its a brilliant phone and def worth your money I will stop being all Dutch about it hahaha

Stitch!, I think you don't tell the truth... You may have ordered it in Holland, but then again the phone is not yet out there, so you can't possibly already have it in your hands. It's expected end of next week in Holland...
And to get the 8GB free card, you have to be a dutch resident, otherwise they won't send it to you!

[INFO] ASUS Benelux support....brilliant!

Many topics were made about bad support by ASUS (in the US at least). Well, the past two days I got my first encounter(s) with ASUS support:
I live in The Netherlands and the Transformer kept being delayed so I ordered the 32gb version via eBay. It was from a seller who lifes in Taiwan (funnybom), I payed the same amount as I would pay here in store when it is available incl shipping and received great service from them.
The tablet arrived last Friday and I noticed it had some common issues:
- Screen was not flush, one of the corners was pushed in by about 1 mm and the backplate and that corner is popping out by the same amount. This leaves a gap around the screen.
- Dead pixel
- Speaker imbalanced
So I contacted the seller and ASUS Benelux at the same time. The seller is willing to do something if I send photos and ship it back. I told that I first would try at ASUS and then come back.
I called ASUS Benelux (free number and I did not had to wait a second... ) and got a man on the phone, a genuine Dutch guy so not a callcenter in the middle of the jungle He asked the S/N and immediately found it in the system then he noted my problems and told me he need to ask about it because it was a unknown product. After 2 - 3 minutes he came back and gave me his personal ASUS e-mail address. I had to send some pictures of the problem and mention the problems again in the e-mail. I did that. Few hours later I get a reply that because the product is expected in June, so not yet available in The Netherlands, he has to do some more research to look what ASUS Benelux can do for me at this point. He promised me to e-mail more information the next day as it was already getting late.
This morning I got another e-mail, stating that he is going to arrange a pick-up for my tablet so they can start repairing/replacing. If I didn't want this he recommended me to exchange it at the store I bought it from. So it was my call if I want it to be picked up by ASUS or not, easy choice
I'm now waiting for the confirmation that it will be picked-up. I'll keep you updated how it goes. But for now, my first experience is very positive if not perfect. Normally you have to send it back and if very lucky you do not have to pay the shipping costs. Now they even arrange a pick-up
reserved for follow-up
This is good to know since I am currently living in the US, bought a transformer. But I'm moving to Holland soon so knowing they'll RMA it is nice
