New member needs help!! - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I unlocked a Cingular 8125 and went to load TNT Professional ROM. The phone kept losing communication at 99% and when I went to reload the original ROM from HTC's site, now I have NO O/S. I DO have another one, but my wife is using it until we get her a pink BlackJackII. I really like these phones, and can't believe I crashed this one! I don't have any Mini-SD cards. Any way to rebuild this thing?

Nobody has any ideas for me? I really need to get this phone running again!

Your not using Vista are you?

Most comm errors are due to weak or discharged battery, not having enough juice to complete the the flash, get it fully charged and try again, secondly,Yes! don't use winVista.
Download the official stock rom and flash to recover back.Get the phone in Bootloaders (RGB screen) hook up the phone and watch small usb appear at the bottom of the Bootloaders,if its there, run the rom to flash,it'll start to flash, but if small usb is not present than most probably its a comm fault.

I was using a Win2K machine. I had 2 batteries that were fully charged. I have a friend that will lend me his miniSD adapter and use my 1gig microSD card to get the info off my wife's phone and copy it to this one. He has a Sprint version of the AT&T Tilt. Might see if he wants to check out this site.

OK. I have access to a miniSD card now. Do I just take my wife's 8125, make a backup from it, then put the card in the bricked phone and load bootloader?

Read this thread for more specific instructions :-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276963
But this method will only work if both the devices are already CID unlocked.Secondly, most important, both the devices shud be of same DOC Chip version,G3 or G4.If you back up a rom of G3 on a G4 device,it'll brick it and vice versa, make sure both the devices are of same DOC Chip version.

They are both G3's. I think they may even be from the same batch. If I unlock hers, won't I lose all her data?

YUP ! but first make a back up of all the personal data on her phone to your pc,for this use either 'PimBackup' or any similar back up application and than unlock it.Its necessary to have both phones CID unlock, otherwise, this method won't work.

OK, I used Lokiwiz 3beta and superCID unlocked the other one. When I run mtty, and use the r2sd all command, I get
R2SDBackup()-Download type=5
usTotalBlock= 1 sizeof(SDCARD_SIGNATRUE_TABLE)=512
I have left it sitting there for an hour and nothing else happens. Isn't it supposed to have several more lines of text scroll by? Also, I can't figure out how to get the dead one to boot to the miniSD.

ok,did you read the method carefully, the link I posted above ? you are getting it correctly.
This methods involves many steps.
Step 1.
Back up all the data on your wife's phone to your pc with 'PIMbackup',than downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx either through flashing 'Button's Rom 1.05 or you can even flash official stock rom Aku1 for this, when getting IPL/SPL 1.xx either way, apply lokiwiz02b and not lokiwiz 3beta to CID unlock your wife's phone,or you can use WST_4.2.2 tool also to CID unlock it,but its must to have IPL/SPL 1.xx to CID unlock in both the ways.Only after getting the phone CID unlocked, you can Backup the rom on a miniSD card.
Step 2.
After successfully back up of the rom on miniSD card, insert this card in your dead phone and get the phone into Bootloaders mode (RGB screen).
Step 3.
Run the MTTY command to back up from miniSD card. This is only possible if you already have this phone CID unlocked, otherwise it won't work.
Both the devices must be CID unlocked.
Although,I'm still not sure if it works, but there's no harm to try,may be it gets going.

Is the progress bar supposed to change back and forth from blue-green to red while flashing?

YUP ! it changes during flash, but it'll become green on 100% completion and the phone reboots.

OK. I can't get this thing to take the WizardLove ROM, can't find Button's ROM, but I am trying to load the XDAMiniS ROM now. On my third try and the SPL still says 2.25. Battery is fully charged and I get an immediate connection failure trying to load WizardLove. I really wish I could find the original Cingular ROM for this phone, not the new(er) update.

Download Cigular official stock rom from here :-

I am just about ready to give up on this thing. No matter what I do, when I try to boot it up regular, it still keeps freezing up and when I try to do a hard reset, I get a format is failed error message.

Last ditch effort
Can I use WST to make a backup RUU from the working phone and flash that to the dead one? All other attempts have failed to restore this phone.

I dont think so
Men you are already doing everything!!!
Does you have mtty... try this please it may works for you let us know what happend please...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420785 the man in this thread stucks on splash screen so read just the mtty steps.
BTW does you unlock your wife's phone... is yours unlocked too? before do it...please respond.
The hope dies at the end!!!!! we have so much to´pics about this issue... why you are runing windows 2000? nad make upgrades? or does I missunderstood? extremely recomended Win XP.

I have Vista at home, and I read where many people here say that you can't do reflashes with Vista, so I use my computer at work, which runs Win2K. I haven't unlocked the second phone, but I thought that I did the first one. That was why I went to flash it. I wonder if the unlock didn't take and that put me in this predicament.

I understand now
Maybe a mistake using windows milenium or 2000 or whatever...
So if it say format failed i cant imagine other thing that do the thing i post you... so if you got questions about clear DOC Chip ask everything...
when you already get everything in a XP machine tell us please oh just for a recomendation unplug the minisd and during the process the mtty working on some lines dont launch programs check your USB cable maybe with a little scratch and moving makes a false contact at all.

Help Please error during rom update

Hi, I have a TMobile MDA with IPL 2.26 and SPL 2.26 and I was trying to put a new rom but the program gave me an update error when reached 99% an now it is stuck in the boot screen (shows in the bottom USB connection) but when re-running the program it does not connect and activesync does not detect the phone. Before the rom update program ruu gave me the that said the phone required a newer program version.
Did I screwed the phone or there is a solution?
Thank you in advance for your help and best regards
Issue Was solved downloading from T-MOBILE the updated ROM and executing the program
Nick
Nope, you're good.
As long as you can enter bootloader and it reads usb in the bottom corner, your wizard can be saved. Don't worry about active sync, it won't read. Get a stock rom from your provider...if Tmo, it is available on their website. Plug in the usb and get into the tri-color boot. Run the stock ruu. Do not let anything interfere with the process, so disable your screensaver, don't let cats or kids near the usb cord, etc (trust me on that one!). NBow flash the stock rom. It will take 10 minutes roughly, be patient, DO NOT unplug usb for any reason...let it flash and reboot. Once flashed, make sure you are cid/sim unlocked...use lokiwiz (read the sticky on unlocking). You cannot change roms from stock to custom without first unlocking. If you are already unlocked, once you have the stock rom re-installed, you can flash to a custom rom. The linky in my siggy explains in detail about reviving a "bricked" wizard.

Cincular 8525 stuck in Bootloader

I have a Cingular 8525 running WM5 that is stuck in bootloader screen. I have tried to soft and hard reset ... just boots back to the same screen, I can't turn it off once in the screen and when i sync via usb to the pc i get the message that the "usb device that is connected is malfunctioning" I have not done any upgrading at all and the phone worked perfectly right up till the time i powered it down and restarted into the bootloader screen.
Please can someone out there help me with this issue?

Manage to solve the problem ...thanks WIKI !!
Go to Bootloader mode: Hold side OK and POWER buttons together and reset with stylus
Then Flash to any ROM you want !!
Thanks .... But
Thanks for the reply ... but i have no idea how to do what you tell me, I am new to all this phone "stuff" as a matter of fact this is the first time that i am ever using one of these forums. I have read till i am cross eyed but dont actually understand what you are talking about ... now don't let that scare you away as i am willing to learn and i am not braindead ... you all had to start sometime in this, not so. I get that i need to try and reflash my rom...
so is there some type of rom update software that i need? ... what is a hard SPL?? ... and who is Schaps?? .. sorry guys to do this to you but i would like to get into this game and i need some ( well maybe a lot ) of pointers.
Thanks for your time.
1. Search for "mr vanxs guide" so you have an idea on what you're doing.
2. OK, as Asfarizal said "Go to Bootloader mode: Hold side OK and POWER buttons together and reset with stylus". If you cant work out what the buttons are, go to the manual. it will tell you.
3. type in "hard SPL" in search on the forum & download the .zip or .rar file. this should have 2 files inside when opened,
a). RUUWrapper.exe and
b). RUU_signed.nbh
sync Hermes and double click .exe file. follow prompts.
4. find a rom that you want (would suggest TNT SE as a fairly good rom for noobs... good and stable, no problems...) Again download, then (and this is personel preference) format an sd card fat 32 and copy RUU_signed.nbh into root directory. Rename it Hermimg.nbh. Put into Phone and put into bootloader(make sure the battery is more than 50%) follow prompts. This should get you out of trouble. You can also sync your Phone and double click on the RUUWrapper.exe HOWEVER, if you should reset your computer, pull out the usb cable or have anything else happen to the computer that interrupts the flashm, you could end up with a worse brick than you have now. try to read up on flashing (search for "mr vanxs guide") and this should help you a lot if you have other questions. Good luck and happy flashing......
Thank You
I will follow the instructions you gave and try to get it going this weekend.
Thank you so much for your time

Looks like you've got a lot of reading to do, and a problem to sort out. Firstly a couple of answers...
Schaps is a Rom Cooking guru (makes custom versions of WM5, WM6 etc). When you get your phone sorted out I'd recommend trying one of his roms.
Hard SPL. The SPL is part of the bootloader which effectively dictates how a rom is flashed and what roms can be flashed. HardSPL is a custom version of this which allows you to flash any rom from any carrier. It also protects against a bad flash in many cases. It is recommended before you try flashing any new roms or radio roms. Use Hard-SPL-V7 at the bottom of the first post here.
The Rom upgrading software is contained in any of the cooked or carrier supplied roms. It is normally a .zip file which cotains 2 files: xxxxxRUU.exe and RUU_signed.nbh. You run the .exe file from your PC when connected to your phone via USB. More details of how to do this are in MrVanx's guides. Also other resources here.
Now to try to sort your phone out...
What is displayed on your screen when in bootloader mode? It should be something like this:
HERM200
IPL-1.04
HERM200
SPL-2.10.Olipro (This is HardSPL V7)
If you don't have an Olipro SPL then you need to get HardSPL onto your phone. If you haven't done any upgrading and have had the phone from new then I guess you don't have hardSPL.
Now you need to fix your USB Malfunctioning problem. I can't help too much here except to suggest trying a different cable, different USB port or different PC. Also, if you are running Vista try an XP maxhine. When you connect to the PC does your phone show Serial or USB on the screen? If you can't get a USB connection, all is not lost - you can re-flash your rom using an SD card, method here.
There is a thread about un-bricking phones which may help.
There are various diagnostic tools (which can also screw your phone if used incorrectly). The favourite of these is MTTY but you need a USB connection to use this.
If your phone is in warranty I'd recommend getting your supplier to sort it out, but if not I'd try to re-flash an ORIGINAL supplier rom (Cingular I guess). You can get links to the official supplier roms here.
I think (might be wrong) that sometimes when stuck in bootloader you need to flash an official rom, not a cooked one to recover your phone - then you can run HardSPL and then flash cooked roms again.
Cingular 8525 stuck in bootloader
Thanks for the reply ... lots of great input.
Now to answer some of your questions.
1) When I power up the phone (only pushing the power button ) it goes straight into the bootloader screen without pushing any other buttons, and it displays
HERM100
IPL-1.01
HERM100
SPL-1.06
Then at the bottom in the white bar it says "Serial"
The only way that i have found to power it down again is to remove the battery, there is no response from any single buttons after it is in bootloader
the soft reset and hard reset work but it just goes right back to the bootloader screen after.
2) The USB malfunction. This only started after the phone "crashed" and before that it worked great ... well i only used it to sync up to my work pc for the contacts and to get pictures onto my hard drive.
all the PC's that i use are running XP. I have tried my home PC and my Laptop
and the work PC and all of them have their own cables and they all say the same thing ... "the USB device is malfunctioning"
I am sure that when i get the phone going again the USB will start to function again.
3) Phone warranty ... I bought the phone off e-bay from a store in new york about 10 months ago as a "new unlocked cingular 8525" it was new and unlocked, but i have no idea how they unlocked it. I would assume that there would be no warranty now and in any case i live in Canada and would have to ship it down to the states to an AT&T repair center and that sounds like a nightmare to me with the customs and so on.
I will give you a little more background on the problem. the phone worked like a charm without any problems at all for the 10 months that i had it, then the morning of the crash the phones alarm did not go off in the morning and i was almost late for work ... i did not pay it any further attention untill at 3:26pm
that afternoon the alarm went off ??????? (it was set for 6:05am) so i checked the main clock time, it was right. I then checked the alarm time, it was right ??? So i figured that something must have just got confused, so i powered down the phone with the power button to just restart it and while it was powered down i removed the battery to take the oportunity to to clean all those fuzzies and dust that collect in the battery compartment out and put it all together and powered it up again (just by pushing the power button) and this wierd red, green, blue and white screen appeared and that is all that i have seen since ???
I hope that answers your questions and i will start going through the links that you sent and get to reading ... will there be a pop quiz ... lol
Thanks again for your time and i very much appreciate all the time that all of you have spent on me and my phone ..... I know that you all just feel bad for me because i now have to use a Motorolla V551 ... lol
Great Work

thanks and regards
kirtibas
kirtibas, sorry it took so long to reply, 1st thing I'd do is upgrade to SPL 2.10 olipro. This is safer to use than others. then I'd suggest reflashing a stock rom to see if that works. After stock rom works then use a cooked rom as your heart desires... Cheers...

plz help

My heads spinning from all the information aka post and threads, but im still stuck like my wizard on the 2nd splash screen.
I wasnt trying to upgrade the rom jst clear storage but after everything ive read i would like to upgrade to wm6 but first i want to get my wizard working.
I tried backing up the rom to the sd card but I get "You didn't get the proper security level to download a specific image" So i take it my wizard is cid locked.
My IPL:1.01 and SPL:1.06 does that mean its a g3. My activesync 4.5 doesnt pick up my wizard is it because it cant boot, i tried with it in bootloader mode still doesnt pick it up.
So plz point me in the right direction to fix my wizard
ok i think the place where im stuck at is cid unlocking my wizard with out using that imei site. any help or is there another way to do this.
This helped me when I was stuck on the first screen. For some reason, the Radio file was gone. Follow this exactly, it works. In my case (sounds like yours also), at the end of this you will at least have access to the phone again.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276963&highlight=bootloader
After your done. You will have a RGB screen, then follow these directions to load a base rom and unlock so you can keep going until you ca load WM6.1.

I've had many, many problems over the last 3 days trying to do this. I completed it all in less than a day, but when I used the phone it had terrible reception. I completely downgraded everything back to square one. Still bad phone reception. I was about to through it out the window, when someone called my wife's cell phone and she also had bad reception. I then put my sim in another phone, same problem. Well, at&t has a tower down for the last 3 days. What timing, it seems to work when not at home, but hard to test that way Anyway, moral of the story is. Don't give up, keep plugging along.
Good luck.
I'm pretty sure imei checker is for SIM unlocking.
For G3 CID unlocking and upgrading read the stickies in http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=289
If you can start your Wizard in bootloader, and it says "usb" in the lower-left, you can flash your original ROM. An active sync connection is not needed. Search for your carrier's ROM if you don't have it and I'd recommend the "no carrier ID" version of the RUU.
Have you tried a 'Hard Reset',hope it'll work,if it boots up into working OS and it already has IPL/SPL 1.xx,use lokiwiz02b tool to SIM/CID unlock the phone and than upgrade.
If it doesn't work still after Hard Reset, most probably, its Extended_Rom is corrupted, its required to reflash a new rom.
Activesync doesn't work in absence of a working OS and in Bootloaders mode. Its not required for flashing a rom.Just get the phone into Bootloaders and hook the phone with pc via usb cable and watch small usb appear at the bottom of the bootloader screen,if its there,it good to go and flash the rom.
ok so i downloaded the button rom finally but how do i flash it to my wizard.
Get your phone in Bootloaders, hook up the phone with pc via usb, watch small usb appear at the bottom of the Bootloader screen,if its there run the 'RUU' application,it'll start to flash,it stops at a certain percentage, don't get worried and do anything, after a couple of minutes it starts again, let it complete 100%,the phone'll restart and boot up in new OS.
which ruu application. I jst downloaded 1 which comes in the form of a rar file saying ruuwrapper. is that the right 1
So after lots and lots and lots more reading i realized i dont need a ruu. all i need to do is get into bootloader mode plug in the usb and run the wizard button rom. It worked perfectly my wizard is back to life yip pee.
Anyway i wud jst like to thank u guys for all the help and compliment u guys on a gr8 forum.
Now my next challenge is wm6 with touch flo.

Major Problem!!!

I had my 8125 connected to my computer and was in disk management. I computer DELETED my HTC drives! PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS A WAY TO GET THEM BACK! PLEASE!!!! was running XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 FINAL with custom firmware ipl 2.26 and spl 2.26. It can connect to usb but is not recognized. any help. The firmware updater doesnt see it! help! please!

What do you mean "drives"? Does the phone boot into Windows?
No. it goes to the "emergency green color usb screen. the same one if u hold teh picture button on starting. It would just like deleting a harddrive partition. no more data on it. and no drive space because it needs to be re-formatted. can I reformat with some program? windows wont recognize it. any thoughts.
-Rico-
Everytime i try to reflash from the bootloader the program gives me an indescript error and shuts down... I need help!

It sounds very bad...
But is worst your english men...
I think mine is bad but you told me, scuse let me pass trough hahahaha
First of all (what i can understands)
You are on WM5Storage seing your Trueff disk (this cant be, ok?...) and for some reason your computer delete that disk? (imposible men... but many things happend with this devices, oneday Aliens comes to my bedroom and tooks it from my hands and then... its a joke hahaha)
You were running that custom ROM but....
I ask AGAIN and AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
Are you cid sim unlock? what da heck is a custom firmware?
And now your phone is in Bootloader screen? what da heck is the emergency green color usb screen?
Wich one is the picture button? are you talkin about how to eneter in RED Green Blue Screen (Bootloader)?
What was the last Rom you have runing ok?
ok thanks for helping... here are the answers to your questions:
Are you cid sim unlock? what da heck is a custom firmware? Yes- its cid unlocked with updated firmware for isp/spl to 2.26. I updated them with a packed rom for windows mobile 6. Its a custom pack from XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 FINAL - Full.
And now your phone is in Bootloader screen? what da heck is the emergency green color usb screen? Yes, everytime I start it up, it goes directly to bootloader. the red, green, blue screen. it only shows the isp/spl numbers on it.
What was the last Rom you have runing ok? XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 FINAL - Full
This is what im thinking. windows erased the partitions that was the phone disk. The WM5Storage is what I was using, windows recognized and deleted the storage partition on the phone. so I need a program or a method for re-creating that partition onthe phone. is there a program or something I could use in your experience? Everytime I try to reload a rom, the programs just crash on me, I think its becaues the disk onthe phone has been 'deleted' by windows partitioning.
Thank you for your help,
Nick

This is good news. It means you don't have a brick, yet (theoretically).
If there's any way you can charge that battery before flashing (say, in a friend's phone), do it! Low battery will definitely cause a failed flash, and the battery won't charge in your phone when it is stuck in bootloader mode.
After you charge your battery, find Mun's RUU, and install Wizard Love on your phone using the Mun RUU, not the one that comes with Wizard Love. If this doesn't work, try loading the phone's original service provider ROM (if you have a G4, you must first remove HardSPL). Then, you should be able to flash back up to XDAM6 after that. Your data is history, but the phone is recoverable. Just keep trying.

So this is the problem men! on XP the corner downright when you enter in bootloader and conect it via USB a pop up comes saying The device is not recognized please unplug and replug to bla bla bla....
I think that youu need to go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276963
and try this metod but you need a clean MiniSD and a backup from another wizard the good news is that goes to bootloader and its cid unlocked and yes is truth!!!! get fully charged your battery men!!!! get a way to charge it without the phone cause it dont charge men!
Or here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425526 this needs somethings less than the others but is not trudly proove so lets make your wizard revives men!
Thanks guys, the last post seems to be the one that may work... but I need a backup of another wizard... could any of you guys be so kind as to upload one? Id be the most appreciative. Thanks

[Q] Help!

Hey guys,
Sorry to be a burden but I'm having a few issues with my hd2, and being a noob I didn't really know where to turn except this forum.
Basically my dad bought the hd2 from the UAE early this year and it all worked fine on stock settings for about 6 months. In the last few months, however, the phone started to lock up, and it got to the point where it wouldn't even boot properly.
In an effort to fix the problem I went with a hard factory restore, however, this seems to have caused more problems as now the phone is stuck in the bootloader.
I've been searching for hours, and have come to the conclusion that I need to update the flash? and then possibly install a new rom on the phone?
My major issue in doing this though, is that I can't seem to connect to activesync while the phone is in the bootloader.
Please help me sort this out.
First of all lets make sure that your trying perform the hard reset correctly.......
You need to hold down both volume buttons whilst the phone is turned off..... Then tap the power button and keep the buttons held down.......
Release them when you see the confirmation screen.........
Powering on while holding only the vol down button will take you to bootloader....
If you need to reflash the device then have a read of this thread here....
If its a "Tmous" HD2 (green and red call/hangup buttons) then you need to read this one
When connecting to the pc in bootloader you should see the word "serial" at the bottom of the screen change to "USB".......
Might be worth checking the text on you bootloader screen for any irregular looking characters, there have a few cases of people with corrupt bootloaders, usually these will display odd looking characters at the top. This is quite rare though.
If you want to flash another stock rom then you wont need to worry about HSPL just download the appropriate ROM and follow the instructions on screen.
Start off at the HTC site and input your serial number to see which ROM is suitable for your device.....
If none of that helps then hold out for some advice here from someone with better knowledge of these things.....
Ok well I've just tried to do the hard reset in the way you've described and had no response from the phone. I had to remove the battery from the back to actually power down the thing as nothing else seemed to work. I can't actually seem to start it up again now =S
Thanks for all the info, I'll keep trying to get it started. I'm downloading the stock rom from the htc site. Hopefully I will find a way to install that.
Also, when the bootloader was up, there weren't any odd characters that I could see. It all seemed pretty standard. It had the current rom driver which was 1.42 or something and a few other lines of info.
Thanks for the post.
edit: perhaps the battery is dead?
No problem.
Is it charging when plugged in and turned off?
If so let it charge while turned off for a while and then try to boot........
If you cant get to bootloader and establish a USB connection then you could try flashing the ROM from the SD card.
rename the rom to "LEOIMG.nbh" place it on the root of a freshly formatted (fat32) sd card and turn on the phone holding vol down..

To be honest I have no idea if it is charging whilst turned off =S All I get is the bootloader when it decided to turn on and that gives no indication of power level so I really have no idea. It makes updating a rom pretty scary haha.
So I just attempted to install the default rom from teh htc site, but failed due to the lack of activesync. It was strange though because the updater managed to change the screen on the phone and get to 1%. It then crashed and I had to go through this recovery process.
I will have to try this SD card process I guess. Could you perhaps link me to a more in depth guide to how to do this?
Thanks a lot for your help I really appreciate it.
you should get a red light up near the earpiece to indicate that its charging........
try this video for flashing from sd card......
I am not getting a red light flashing? But it doesn't seem to be running out of charge. I'm still having lots of trouble
It would seem that I need to install this hspl before I do anything, however, I can't install that if I can only access the bootloader screen. Does this mean my phone is bricked?
I want to be able to set up a rom straight from SD, however, I have no idea where to start. That video just seems to send me in a big loop.
Perhaps you could link me to a simple rom that I can attempt to load via sd card?
edit:
I seem to have somehow fluked an install of HSPL 8G XE.
I have no idea how this happened or whether it is good or bad.. but at least something has happened.
Hmmm
installing hspl is covered here
as long as the word "serial" is changing to "USB" on the bootloader screen when you connect to the computer you should be ok.......
You dont need HSPL to flash via sd card but I think that video was directed more towards people installing cooked ROMS from XDA.
Installing a stock rom will automatically overwrite HSPL so unless your planning to flash a custom ROM then installing HSPL is pointless........
You might be better off installing a cooked rom. (Artemis, Dutty's)
They tend to run better than stock, if you get one running then it will be easier to get back to a stock rom (if you want to) than the situation your in now.....
This is from the flashing guide;
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
NOTE (PLEASE READ): If you flash a Stock Rom via microSD Card then it will overwrite your HardSPL with a stock SPL included in the nbh file. This does not apply to custom roms as they do not include an SPL. BE CAREFUL!!
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the LEO Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
4. Copy the LEOIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Reset the device while pressing the volume down button to enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
Reckon you could link me to one of those roms? I think we're getting pretty close now.
Your help has been great I can't thank you enough.
Your welcome
You can find Dutty's ROM here
or the Artemis ROM here
Have a quick read and see which one you think you'll prefer, to be honest I think they're both pretty similar to stock but with a lot of the crap taken out....
Just follow the steps in the first link I posted and you should be good to go.
Ok new problems.. Can you believe it.
I seem to have tried everything.
Basically I can install of a sd card, but when it gets to the end of the install and I restart instead of booting into a OS it boots to the tri colour screen, and starts the install process again.
Also, I have attempted to install via usb and have had varying success.
As I have already said, I am able to install hspl, however, when I try to flash I get to varying percentages below 30% before the whole thing freezes.
I now have an error that says Upgrade Rom code error Please Try Again.
Sorry i dont mean to hijack ! but will any of you be kind enough to help me here..

thanks !
Ok so I followed the steps and still to no avail.
I am able to boot using the sd card method, however, the same problem occurs with each rom version. Basically as soon as I reset the device it pretty much switches itself off, then I can't turn it back on, once I finally do turn it on, it restarts the process like it never happened.
The other issue is again the active sync problem.
With most of the the usb connections I am able to connect and get a little way through the install (most I've got is 15%) then it just freezes up and I get the 262 error
Your best bet is to try flashing with a freshly formatted (FAT32) 4gb, class 2 card.
I know, sounds pretty specific right?
You wouldn't think it would matter?
I have tried flashing with 16 gb class 2, failed at the radio step
Tried with a 8 gb class 6, failed at the radio
4 gb, class 2, flashed successfully.
Seems our HD2's are picky about what cards they'll take a ROM from for some reason.
Alright I'll try that, my next issue is which is the stock rom for the phone =S
It was bought in the UAE and I'm currently in Australia.
edit: Also I read somewhere that the constant bootloader screen can be caused by a bent battery pin?
Edit2: I have attempted to do that, however, now the bootloader will accept the card, then just sit on loading...
I'm pretty sure this thing is bricked.

I've heard of bent battery pins being a pretty common problem, causing usually just the phone not to charge properly. I've personally never heard of it causing constant bootloader, but it's definitely worth checking.
It's weird that it's such a common problem, my usb/charging port is broken, so I have to use an external charger. I change my battery on average twice every 24 hrs, and I've never bent a pin
Ok, new info, apparently because the device is for the middle east it does not support stock 3.14 roms. What does this mean for me? Am I bricked.

That's the post I found the info in. All of that info matches up to mine except my original image was 3.142 I think =S
Firstly, your phone is not bricked - a bricked phone is responsive as a brick.
Can we start from the begining?
What does the Bootloader Moder screen say (with and without the USB cable connected)?
What ROM (and if custom ROM, what RADIO) have you flashed and are trying to flash?

Alright from the beginning.
Basically about a month into using the phone in Australia it became very unresponsive to the point where it would not boot at all. We left the phone for a couple of months, however, after seeing a friend rom android I decided maybe it was time to attempt to fix this phone.
Some more info:
When I attempt to do any sort of ROM update there is nothing in the 'current image' part so for example it will say update to Dutty 3.6 but it's updating from nothing, does this mean there's no firmware there?
In the bootloader I have:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
MICROP(LED) 0X05
MICROP(TOUCH) 0X40
Without USB cable in I get Serial in the white part down the bottom, with the USB cable in + plugged into computer I get USB.
Just to further clarify. In regards to the ROM I have installed. I simply don't have anything installed. There is a bootloader, no image, no bootup. It boots up to the tri colour, that's it.
For a moment we will forget about going to 3.14 ROM: I don't know if that phone is entitled to an official upgrade to 3.14, if it is locked to a particular network, if it is branded, etc. If it is not entitled to a 3.14 ROM upgrade then you will have to go through GoldCarding, so we will leave it for now.
Make sure that the battery has had a good couple of hours charge in the charger or double that if connected to the computer.
Remove SIM Card and SD Card.
Switch on to Bootloader Mode, then connect to USB.
Download and run HSPL2 - ignore the instruction about connecting to ActiveSync etc, just proceed.
Download and install the HTC 1.66 WWE ROM - again, ignore the instructions, just proceed.
The reason for HSPL is because your phone may be operator locked (not SIM locked) and you aren't entitled to run the 1.66 WWE ROM.
