To lose the least amount of details what I do is, re-size the image I want to use to 384x512 pixels then save it as high quality jpeg file. Then I rename the file to HomeBackground.img. Afterwards making sure there is already a custom wallpaper in use on tf3d, I copy the HomeBackground.img file to windows folder overwriting the existing file. Then to get the new wallpaper displayed I disable and re-enable tf3d.
The process is kind of long but I find it helps in preserving some quality.

Some stunning photos, thanks
Wish I was in some of those

Great photo's!
Fit perfect as wallpaper !

well, how can i make a preview withouth opening 100 pic's in photoshop? There has to be an program for that..

Yep, images lose details when fitted to wallpaper... it's a pity

Courtesy of www.interfacelift.com...
All my computer wallpapers are from that site, very good pictures and amazing quality and ability to download in any size you wish

some really great wallpaper good find

Thanks for the nice backgrounds
Thank you so much for the great backgrounds. I convinced my boss at work how brilliant the Diamond was, he agreed and we bought 15 of them for everyone in our administration. Now I've copied your wallpapers to each and everyone, and we enjoy your nice work every day.

Custom HTC Home Clocks, Icons, Weather [New Files 11/21/07]

OK, so I've decided to simplify this mess and make it easier on everyone (myself mostly). I have put all my clocks, icon sets, and weather sets into their own ZIP files. Just keep what you want and toss the ones you don't in the round file. As I add new sets, I will just update the ZIP archives. I have added a couple new clocks, some nice icon sets, and several new weather sets. As always, you can open the folder with the set or clock you want and copy it straight into your HTC Home folder (disable it in your Today settings first) or copy the folders into the appropriate subfolder in FILES if you have Emu's HTC Home Customizer (which I endorse fully!) and have everything at your beck and call. Here's an animated GIF with previews of the stuff:

Download Here --> Clocks | Icons Sets | Weather Sets
You can get Emu's HTC Home Customizer here.
NOTES: The Flat Weather Set comes in black and white (as do a few of the clocks). The NYT Weather set looks shabby in the GIF, but I have since tweaked it. Oh, and I updated a few of my icons sets. Just minor stuff. As always, if you have any problems or suggestions, let me know.
PROPS: Buuf and GANT artwork by Paul Davey. Shiny weather art by Jyri K. If I missed you and you should be here, PM me and let me know.
love the weather
looks great ,can' t wait to try .
Very nice job!
I like It!
I think it looks great. I am definitely interested in trying it out.

My first post to the forum. Would like to pass on my thanks to all for a wonderful source of info regarding the Hermes. Have found the forum to be a superb help with getting to grips with the PPC. Looking forward to trying the Vario3.
Those look great - I wouldn't mind testing them out.
I like these cool designs especially the weather! Good Job!
Thanks Haighter
Going to give the bits ago on my Hermes
Thanks ever so much
Just downloaded some icon and weather files. I'll get them transferred to the phone and see how it goes. Looks great so far.

Hello
Cool Icons you created. Is it possible to upload everything in one rar or zip file? Is it possible to add these icons to the Emu home customizer?

Yes, you can add my folders to Emu's Customizer and have them available as options. Just put my folder(s) in the appropriate sub-folder in Emu's program (clocks in clocks, weather in weather, etc.).
I actually have thought of putting them all in one ZIP or RAR file. I keep adding sets, though (I've finished a new weather set just now), so I keep putting it off. I'd love to make a CAB eventually that will just jam everything neatly into the correct Emu sub-folders.
I'll work on the ZIP or RAR file... I should have done it already.

HTC theme for S2U2

firstable thanx to A_C for this great peace of a program.
I just finished the final graphics of s2u2 for Qvga, thought to share it with you guys, just unzip the htc s2u2 folder and drag all the files to gfx folder, allow to overwrite the original files, delete topbar and vtopbar, go to programs/s2u2/iLock2 to reset the s2u2.
sorry if the screenshots are not that good, that because the program I use suck enjoy!

When you place them in the GFX-folder you have to delete topbar, and vtopbar, isn't it?

yes you dont need topbar and vga topbar with this theme
Just FYI. When you place these files, in your original folder you need to delete topbar, and vtopbar files.
When you want to rename your GFX folder and place these files in a new folder, you should copy slideanis and system graphic files.

Im not sure what problem you have, but I assume your running an older version of s2u2, you need to install the latest version which allows you to change the graphics. s2u2 back to clock or back to caller ID will do.
Minor problem, I have 24h clock with seconds and it runs off the screen, any way to make the clock smaller??

tnx PoorlyDuck!!
Suggestion:
How about a glowy effect like the HTC Home Clock to the clock...
Thank you!!!
Perfect, thank you, very nice.

I did, but the problem is that the clock background is hard coded and when you apply the glue effect it shows the faded Grey instead of a nice bright white glue.
hopefully A_C in the next version can remove the hard coded backgrounds and then we will be able to play with clock however we want.
thx a lot for this S2U2-Theme.
I love it

[THE] A bit more green

Hi, I changed some graphics, when they are pressed, they are green instead of black. I think it suits the overall diamond look more. Check out the screenshots for more info.
Also, I changed all in my opinion unnecessary animated gifs (used in mms), bmps, some keyboard layouts to 1x1 pix images to save some space...altogether about 2,5mb. English and german layout is left intact. Please check the zip file for yourself, before replacing all pictures.
Only extract the zip file into your windows directory, and overwrite the files you want to. Its possible, that they will be protected...just soft reset the device, and copy them over right after the phone starts. I suggest you use activesync for that.
Cheers!
PS: At your own risk!
Edit: I attached a cab file thanks to Buusgug. It does not backup the original files though.

veery nice. thanks for that
Hi guys, thanks for the comments, but all the colors were left as in the original files. I didnt want to make the files bigger.
Or did you mean something else?
cheers
i dont know how the changing the color would work, im guessing its some sort of color code. so if all you have to do is change a value, i cant see how it would make the files bigger. but i could be wrong? im sure someone else here knows more.
Aaaah...allright...I didnt understand what you have meant in first place!

Cab
i Created this CAB file, it installs the files and does a soft reset..
But it doesnt take a backup of the original files i believe
So be AWARE...

There are many files which contain no images, and replace the files on Phone that do actually have something in those files .... what are the purposes of such files in the zip file?

Yes, there are already some themes, which look like that. The vodafone one is quiet red, but there is definitely a theme that I saw which only changed the green to red. Try looking.

where's this clock from? it's very nice, i'd have a go at a diamond version
i gave it a shot given the time i had available..
its not perfect but its not as easy to work with a jpeg as compared to png icons
anyway in the screenshot below i dont have a background for the clock, so thats why only the numbers can be seen
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the zip file. There are 2 folders. "Numbers" contains ONLY the numbers in the screenshot. "Transparant Clock Background" has the files required to make it look just like in the screenshot
1. Deactivate TF3D
2. Open total commander (or anything that can modify system files)
3. Copy the manila files to the Windows directory on your phone.
4. Reactivate TF3D
I cant make cabs at the moment so in case you cant do this maybe someone can pack it...

Which theme is this? Looks very cute.... Also do you have some other engine wall papers?
Take a look at this, it might be close enough to what you want:

Or type digital clock on search, you will get plenty of colors on digital clocks, i have seen a red digy clock that looked really cool.

HQ WVGA Wallpaper Sets (Portrait + Landscape)

As always, credit for wallpapers/photos themselves goes to whoever took them. I merely centered/resized/cropped them.
Please add your wallpapers to this thread, but PLEASE:
Make sure they are high quality
Make sure you crop/resize them to 480x800 AND 800x480, as a set.
Use external hosting for images so that server doesn't get too much load
Female wallpapers don't belong here. There's a separate thread for them.
I recommend splitting them into 2 folders - portrait and landscape, and using them for S2U2 - i hand-picked them to look amazing on Rhodium's screen. That'll put some envy on iPhone users' faces
Also, if you want these as background for your Manila - go HERE (HDWall)
BEST WAY to say "thank you" : upload a screenshot of how your phone looks like with that wallpaper!
Update: Looking for "partner in crime" who would turn these into CABs (with HDWall). If you're interested, please PM me.
Update: CABs, sweet CABs!! I'm still adding them, so a lil' patience =) Remember that the best option is to use these with HDWall (link above).
sirphunkee is creating a bunch of CABs for these wallpapers and some of his.
I've uploaded those that are already done, and have more to come.
Give em a test run, show us how they look on your pda!

If you just want it on your home tab, you can use the "wallpaper" button in "settings" tab in manila.
If you want it in high quality or for all tabs, you gotta use this program -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503511&highlight=hdwall
It's very easy to use, it will make a cab file that you install. After that, restart manila (or soft reset) and you're done. More instructions in that thread.
Hi, they are gorgeous!!!
One question, in the third set, the second picture (the one with the cliff a stone bridge with one man fighting with what i recon is a beast, and the dragon's bones) where is it from? a video game?

If I'm not mistaken, that is just a high-res, HQ wallpaper made in 3DS or Maya, or one of those. I have a full-size wallpaper of it, definitely not computer-game-level graphics.

I have Tilt 2. Why is it when I put any picture as a wallpaper on TF 3D the quality does not appear the same. No matter how HQ the picture?
Portrait / Landscape Question
When manually applying custom wallpapers, how do you differentiate between the portrait and the landscape images, so the correct one is used when you open keyboard / use landscape?
I see most people posting a portrait and a landscape version of images....
Thanks,
Michael
